  1. My reaction to Kate's plan to take down Red was, "Oh please... the Feds are under no illusions about who Red is and what he's done. They'll decide he's too valuable an asset and give him immunity."
  2. No surprises for me. From episode one, I figured Ryan would win. What I'd like to see is an online gallery of works by all the contestants, done in their own studios, without the stresses and time constraints of the competition.
  3. The judges are great. But, OMG! Sara Cox and her accent... my flesh crawls every time I hear her say words like "pottereh" and "consistenceh". From a Google search, I presume this is a Manchester accent, and for whatever reason, it's like nails on a chalkboard to me.
  4. Nam's sake set just didn't speak to me. I liked Ryan's. It literally turned my stomach to see them using hair for the raku. The smell!
  5. Re: Keith and his crying. I'm completely baffled by people who cry like that. My dad is one of them, too. He'll tear up while reciting a favorite poem or singing a song from his youth. Me? I don't cry unless I truly have something to cry about, and my wife's passing back in May has had me wailing at the top of my lungs ever since. The weird thing is, I don't recall ever hearing my dad cry after mom died, 21 years ago. So, when I was visiting him at Christmas, I asked him if he ever cried over mom's death, and he replied that he never did.
  6. Yeah, Brooke did win 3 out of 4 dishes, but the one dish she didn't win was the one dish of the whole evening that truly bombed. I thought that might put Shirley over the top. Oh well. My dream finale was Shirley vs Sheldon.
  7. I watched the first two episodes, and I just can't force myself to watch another.
  8. I lost my wife 7 months ago, a month after our 29th anniversary, and I still wear my wedding ring on my left hand. The scene of Riggs buying a replacement ring invoked a similar reaction for me. If I ever lose my wedding ring, I'll be very sad, but that'll be the end of it. It would make no sense to me to buy a replacement ring that wasn't a part of my marriage.
