  1. In light of recent news, I would like to see time travel shenanigans so that Jonathan is played by Scott Michael Foster.
  2. Yeah, this is where I landed. I was confused by the Gordy stuff, but I take that it's a parallel to the theme of respecting the animal. The cinematography was really well done. I'm glad I saw the film in theaters. I wanted the story to be a little more cohesive. This reminded me of "Signs." This amuses me. Mostly because of the trailer for Beast beforehand, which appears to be Lion Jaws.
  3. I assume you're on the west coast? I have it on at 6 and 7 am on east coast.
  4. Look, people are terrible and I felt the need to specify.
  5. It's amusing to see Theo and Mabel acknowledge that they couldn't understand each other and then still not slow down or start texting. And I was with her in thinking the sign for glitter looked fun. I liked their interactions. "No, I'm not going to calm down! Either the killer is in these files or I'm some kind of unhinged psychopath who goes into fugue states and stabs people. Either way, a girl likes to know these things about herself!" She has an excellent point. I loved seeing Mabel hug Charles and Oliver. The platonic chemistry Selena Gomez has with these two is just great. I look forward to whatever drama the blackout brings. It's a classic trope and I respect it.
  6. I've read Suspicious Minds, Darkness on the Edge of Town and a few of the comics, all from my local library or a partner library. Of them, my favorite so far has been Suspicious Minds mostly because it focuses on an unseen aspect of the show (Terry Ives involvement with Dr. Brenner's experiments and El's dad). I feel like it could be canon, but wouldn't be surprised if they completely ignored stuff. One of the comics I read was Six and while I enjoyed it, I definitely think that's on the "no way that happened" pile after season 4.
  7. I enjoyed this one. I read the short story beforehand and liked how they expanded on the source material.
  8. So depending on the exact location of "80 miles from Indianapolis" an earthquake doesn't look entirely out of the question, although the severity is a lot worse than could be expected as the worst real earthquake in Indiana was a 5.1, compared to Hawkins 7.4. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1909_Wabash_River_earthquake https://www.wired.com/2008/10/five-us-earthqu/ To make this post relevant to the actual wish topic, since season 5 is supposed to have more focus on the season 1 main cast, I would like to see this balanced by giving minor but significant roles to some of the non-Hawkins characters in preparation for a final showdown. Suzie's hacking something in Utah, Enzo is fighting a demogorgon in Russia, Kali's waging a psychic attack on Vecna from Chicago.
  9. I was glad they had the beep at the end. I could see why the mom would have problems with the band. They meet and her daughter's immediately sneaking out and being called a nasty bitch. And I'm shocked they had the name since they were 14. I knew it was Jill's husband. He had the crazy eyes.
  10. Oh my gosh, Naomi never went on a date before. That's so sad, but so endearing. And stop saying she raised JoJo! I need to hear that she was way more involved at some point if they're going to keep this up. Like that she tried to get the solo career going when JoJo was 10 or something. They got me with Lauren eating the ramen like a sandwich. That was quality comedy. Also, she watched a lot of anime and doesn't know ramen is supposed to be cooked? Of course she's not your mom, Valeria! DNA test! I would not have thought she knew who the mom is. Seems like she didn't have any real intimate details that couldn't have been made up. Not Brianna! She's the best one and has 5 kids. When they showed the shooter crouched down beside a car, it looked like a woman. I saw Jill's husband, Tina, or Valeria's fake mom.
  11. I hate Muffin's friends even more knowing they've been her friends since middle school. Like they're not random hangers on who started riding her coattails but people Lauren brought with her into fame. The owe her better than this. But at least her forehead injury magically healed. And Queens could've told her they didn't like her verse and given her a chance to revise it or collaborate the first time around. Jill is being a jerk. First she cheats on Tina, then asks for a favor and leads her on and acts like she didn't. I'm glad the producer told Valeria about her mom. I really think Valeria should have gotten a DNA test before she took any steps with her mom. Yeah, I've got it pegged for the husband (who surprised me with actually going through with the divorce), but Tina would make sense too at this point.
  12. My brain broke a little when the song playing at Jadakiss’s had Eve in it. A classic celebrity paradox. Muffin paid 5 million for that Claire’s looking unicorn that fell out of her head?!? Hope she sues.
  13. I love that Mrs. Khan went all Martha Kent and made Kamala a costume. The casual family reveal was fun. Yay, Zoe knew and wouldn't betray her! "Superheroes don't need chaperones." "Guess I was the beta test." Well, the kid's not wrong. "Get in losers, we;re getting shawarma." What a perfect mashup of 2 modern classics. So I knew there was a Carol Danvers cameo coming, but that was not what I expected.
  14. Okay, they made the names make more sense with this one. Professor Sex being someone who went to grad school at Columbia and wanted to really be a professor, and Xplicit Lyrics as the primary song writer makes sense. Jill Da Thrill always seemed logical and is reminiscent of Da Brat, so that I never had a problem with. But seriously, Butter Pecan. I liked the setup of the episode with the focus on each member individually. So I guess Jeff was telling the truth about his memory loss. Didn't see the death coming, but it made perfect sense. Yeah, the grad student's probably pregnant.
  15. So finally watching this now. No surprise, Eve's my favorite. Brandy surprised me with her rap skills and how much I don't like her character yet. Naturi surprised me with how much I liked her character at the hospital and when she did her verse on stage. I've never seen her act before but she ended up impressing me.
  16. Ok, I want the show to confirm this suspicion I have - Henry/One/Vecna tried the same manipulative tactics on Eight/Kali and that's when she escaped. They did have a certain similarity in training El to use her powers by focusing in on negative emotions.
  17. Klaus being the guy who talks to the dead and can also come back from the dead makes a lot of sense. And I love that Diego seemed most angry about Stan trying to dissolve the body. Not sure Klaus could've come back from that. Allison! Not cool. And Luther's "Don't do this" kind of broke my heart.
  18. 4x08: Papa Owens: Well, that went very well, I thought. You eased her into it, nice and gentle, just like we talked about. Not ominous at all. Nancy: He showed me things that haven't happened yet. The most awful things. I saw a dark cloud spreading over Hawkins. Downtown on fire. Dead soldiers. And this... giant creature with... a gaping mouth. And this creature wasn't alone. There were so many monsters. An army. And they were coming into Hawkins. Into our neighborhoods. Our homes. And then... he showed me my mom. And Holly. Mike. And they... they were all... Eleven: Why are you doing this? Brenner: Because there's no other choice. Eleven: There is a choice. Brenner: Only one that is right. Eleven: And you make the right choices? Brenner: I try. Eleven: Did you make the right choice with Mama? Brenner: Your mother was sick, Eleven. She was a danger to herself and to others. She brought a gun into the hospital. She killed a man. Eleven: Hospital? No. A prison. Brenner: Everything I have done was for your own good. For your own protection. Eleven: And Henry? You kept Henry in that lab. With the children. Was that for our good? Was that a right choice? Brenner: I had no idea what Henry would do. I cared for you. I loved you. I loved all of you. Eleven: Even Henry? Brenner: Yes. I was trying to help Henry, to understand him. Yes. Yes, I cared for him. Eleven: Even after what... what he did? Brenner: Yes. Because I knew I had failed him. Eleven: So this morning, you said you believed he was always alive in the darkness. Is that why I was searching the darkness? Was I looking for him? For Henry? Brenner: No. No. We were focused on the Soviets. You knew that. Eleven: "Papa does not tell the truth." Henry said that. Brenner: And now you trust Henry? Henry, who's manipulated you like some puppet? You are the one who released him from his prison. You. And now you are angry with yourself and you're taking your anger out on me and you're risking everything. Eleven: No. No, you. You have risked everything! You have lied! You made me look for him! The gate. The Mind Flayer. So many dead. And all because of you. Because you could not stop. You could not let him go. I came here to try and understand who I was. To see if I... if I was the monster. And now I know the truth. It is not me. It is you. You are the monster. I am going to open that door, and I am going to leave with Dr. Owens. If you try to stop me, I will kill you. Eddie: Never change, Dustin Henderson. Promise me? Dustin: I wasn't planning on it. Erica: This isn't a basketball game where they blow the whistle when your shoes fall off. Lucas: Okay, okay, for the record, my shoes never fell off. Erica: Okay, for the record, it's kinda hard for your shoes to fall off when you're riding the bench. Lucas: Yet, for some reason, you show up to every game. Erica: Mmm, except the one that mattered. Plus, Mom and Dad forced me. Lucas: Bull. Mom and Dad can't force you to do shit. Erica: Well, even though you're a bench-riding loser, you're still my brother. Just the facts. 4x09: The Piggyback Lucas: You're wrong about Eddie. Jason: No. But I was wrong about you. I never should've let you in the door. Lucas: And I never should have knocked. I thought I wanted to be like you. Popular. Normal. But it turns out, normal's just a raging psychopath. Max: Are you... Are you real? Di... Did I make you? Eleven: I'm real. Max: How? Eleven: I piggybacked from a pizza dough freezer. Max: What?
  19. Let the record show Nancy did not include her dad in the list of dead family members Vecna gave her visions of.
  20. I’m going to say Eddie going fighting rather than running to draw the demobats away was not braver and probably just led to him dying more. But he had to die to keep him as the presumed suspect in the teen murders. I’m glad he didn’t die alone but it would’ve sucked if Dustin going back negated Eddie’s heroic sacrifice. Steve lived through saying he wanted 6 kids with Nancy! Woohoo! With all the big horror this show throws at us, it still gets me with the real life scary situations like jock threatening to break an eleven-year-old girl’s arm or Jason aiming a gun at Lucas. But Sinclairs persevere! Caleb McLaughlin has really put in a great performance this season. I admit, I thought he would sing “Running Up That Hill” when the Walkman broke. I’m glad Max lived after. My heart broke when she said she couldn’t see or feel anything. I think El not finding Max’s mind means she’s trapped with Vecna and next season will involve a journey to rescue her soul. And I appreciate the foreshadowing of Owens saying they could put El in a medically induced coma rather than kill her and it happens to Max instead. 5 bucks says early talks were Max just dies and someone talked the Duffer Brothers out of it. The Hopper reunions were nice. I’m all for members of this cast hugging. But you know what I’d really like next season? Everyone working together the whole season and communicating!
  21. I liked the main stuff with Meena and Amnesia Thawne. I think it was fair to give him a fresh start with amnesia after his service to the timeline and death on Legends. Like, sure, let's give you a blank slate and see if you can not be evil, without all the timey-wimey weirdness of his enemyship with Flash. So, Dig's just not gonna answer the call? So he's wasted 2 years traveling the Arrowverse for nothing. Although, the whole "asking me to be something I'm not" point was literally true as it was treating him like John Stewart. Okay, I know Eobard is evil, but can someone at ARGUS please get him a clean prison uniform? That thing looked gross. Oh, my beautiful Ray of sunshine! I'm glad he went out for retirement drinks with Nate. Their friendship is awesome. So was that a very old Cecile watching her at the end, judging the path she's going down? I'm going with that.
  22. So I'm watching some of the last episodes and I get to "The Puerto Rican Day." So out of curiosity, I look up the day and oh, look, it's today!
  23. I liked the villainous plot. Very Sanderson Sisters of him. He must build the machine and suck the lives out of the people of Central City before sunrise, otherwise it's curtains! I'd forgotten how much I loved Chief Singh and this is some of the best Singh ever. I love his friendship with Joe. I enjoyed seeing him in casual wear and I'm glad he showed up to family game night. I love that Joe dressed up like a wizard for game night. It didn't occur to me that Allegra doesn't have a superhero name. It has occurred to me that Cecile doesn't. Ooh, Barry, you just had to go all King Triton on Caitlin's lab, didn't you? Then again, Caitlin's attempting necromancy and invoked his dead mother, so I guess he had a point. She's gonna go full villain now isn't she? No Frost, no Cisco, and after this I don't think Barry's gonna be able to pull her back from the edge. Maybe her mom.
  24. I mean, I don’t necessarily think they will, but Robin’s rabies talk and the internet saying they think it’s going to happen has me a little nervous. And Hop living has me half-thinking “hmm, they really don’t want to kill any main characters“ and half “they let Hop live, they’re not going to keep doing that.”
