  1. I assume it's not Jones' likeness that is the issue but that the image is the copyrighted artwork of someone and they'd be exposed to repurcussions for airing it without permission, like how real estate shows have to blur most of the framed artwork in homes for sale now. I love how even though it was blurred, everyone could still tell it was GraceJones. Wasn't Grace a guest judge on project runway once?
  2. loosing...man, I need to check my spelling before I post. Would it kill this site to add an "edit" button?
  3. I loved Brik's shirt from the front, & he had oneof the least ill-fitting pants of the group, but I agree that the shirt bulged in the back & that the fabric choice for the pants wasn't the best. Still, it was not in my bottom 3. Cornelius's pants were okay, but that halter top had no hem on the edges whatsoever, making it look sloppy & unfinished. Loved Dexter's shorts. I think without the mouse ears, it could have been in the top 3. Erin: An unfortunate disaster. The shoulder's didn't just look unfinished, but barely started. The shorts made me think of an old abandoned house with walls loosing their drywall, exposing the fiberglass inside. Jenni: I liked the op & bottom, but not together. It's too busy together. Each should be worn with a solid paternless piece. Laurence: Great Jacket, meh shirt, horrible pants. She might as well have been wearing a diaper under them. Laurence really excels with leather tops. Mah-Jing's was nice, but it was more party & less streetwear. Nathalia's was my least favorite. It's look very comfy though; I could see myself cleaning the house in it or lounging in it on a weekend, but I wouldn't dare go out in public wearing it. It has sort of a hobo-chic look to it; I might drop a dollar in someone's coffee if they approached me wearing that. Rik's was very punk/Hot Topic.Would have worn that in highschool. Roberi's jacket was nice, but underneath it was more fat tomboy beachwear, not really something I could see being worn away from a beach or pool, & not exactly flattering either. It was nice to see a knee-length culotte though...I miss those.
  4. Alex's dress was okay, but it kinda looked like it was made out of felt, & that made it look a bit cheap. I could totally see women wearing this in the casinos of Vegas & Reno. Worst thing Brik's ever made, & I'm going back a few episodes here. It's a moderately sculpted bit of white cloth with a few holes cut into it, ¬ even a moderately flattering fit. He did so much better in episode 5 with that flattering silver cocktail dress. Cornelius's dress was too plain in the light & too tacky in the dark, but he did excel with the challenge given to him & making it as modern as possible. Dexter's probably would have been a hit with country divas. I could see one doing a live concert in the dark, lit up like an adorable fiber glass lamp. There was nothing sweet or innocent about Erin's raunchy dress. I agreed with Nina about it looking like swimming jellyfish, but the open-cup bralette covered in bedazzled pasties was just tasteless. Loved Jenni's acrylic coat, adored the colors & shaped applies to it, but I hated that frumpy yellow singlet underneath. The outfit was just screaming for a little more hot pink or neon orange somewhere else on it to tie it in. Kimber's...I loved the shape & the idea of her outfit, but it did not glow & the hem was quite bad. It was still better than Brik's, but the challenge was to glow. Laurence's was pretty tacky. Hoochi mama hotpants &the fact that it looked like she just slapped a few strips of masking tape in various places. Mah-Jing's was still better than Brik's. That's all I can say about it. Nathalia's was just adorable. Loved the colors & the shapes. Heidi claimed Rik's dress was stripperific, but it's a standard nightclub dress. I agreed with the guest judge that the bows cheapened it & I was a little disappointed that the silver top didn't glow white like the silver on a reflective jacket would. Roberi's was amazing. I would have liked it to have been knee-length personally, but I think he achieved the coolest glow effect. Sarah's was very costumy, like Wednesday Adams meets Naughty School Girl. But it just happened to be halloween & I could see a lot of women going to halloween parties in that dress. Tasha's dress would have made a great cocktail waitress uniform for casinos.
  5. Yellow is a color I have very little tolerance for, so I took an instant disliking to House of Bouton's line. & since I can't stand Nina's or Heidi's tastes in clothing, I knew they'd love it. We did however completely agree on disliking Roberi's asymmetric shirt & loving Mah-Jing's shirt. Alex's dress looked like a duct tape cocktail dress. Every second I looked at it, I couldn't think of anything but duct tape. The other piece I hated was Erin's gaudy oversized bedazzled coat. Everything from the color to the fit was unflattering.
  6. Brik: One of the nicer things I've seen him make on the show. He achieved that slimming look Laurence failed in the swimsuit episode. Cornelius: It emphasized a flat chest & wide hips. The pattern was not cocktail appropriate. Dexter: I don't see the "hoochie mama" Heidi was claiming, I thought she'd go more for a "bearded lady." Not a bad design, would have looked better in white, black, blue or red, or yellow. Erin: This was my favorite, so of course Heidi & Nina hated it. I absolutely loved the fit & the copper. Jenni: Really surprised it won. It was very aquarium costumy & the fit was baggy. All I could see was corals & starfish. Laurence: One of the better things she's made, but I think that dress would make you blend in with the room instead of stand out in it. Excellent sewing detail though. Mah-Jing is my favorite personality, but not my favorite designer. When I saw the way the material pouched, pocketed, & wrinkled all over the dress, I was afraid he'd be in the bottom 3. Nethalia: Honestly, I liked the little pink prom dress she was working on before Tim butted in & accused it of looking like a skate dress. The finished product looked unflattering from every angle. Rik: Looks like an apron you'd find in a sexy lingerie shop & not something that should be worn outdoors. I can't believe this was in the top 3. Roberi: Absolutely the wrong material for a cocktail dress, but it was a cute & flattering dress nonetheless. Tasha: Looked like an off-the-rack dress you'd find at Macey's, but still somehow less gaudy than Rik's apron or Jenni's corals.
  7. My mother also commented on Heidi's boots. Her taste really is all in her mouth, but at least she doesn't look as tacky on this show as Alissa Milano did last season of All Stars.
  8. Loved Roberi's pattern, but we both agreed that the top was set too low & gave the impression of saggy pancake breasts. I'm not even sure Alex liked his own swimsuit. He brought up at least twice that it was specifically tailored to Heidi's tastes according to her dossier. Had it not been for her own line, I think he would have made something completely different. What really surprised me is that Heidi & Nina didn't see Alex's as matronly when it looked like an old lady's nightgown, but saw Jenni's as being matronly when it looked more like something girls in Jr. High would go for. Sarah's looked like vintage christmas wrapping, but the shape of the suit was fine. While Tasha's looked like it would blow off at the slightest breeze, I really loved the pattern, which was reminiscent of Memphis Milano, Nathalie Du Pasquier, Yoko Honda, & mid century kitsch. Brik's was very unflattering, or perhaps his model was just a bit too masculine, but I can see tomboys gobbling it up in a second. Laurence's was my least favorite & I'm surprised it was safe. It was nothing at all like her concept drawing, which looked nice, & the targets did not achieve the slimming effect she was going for. Cornelius's did nothing for me, Dexter's & Mah-Jing's were adorable, Erin's model never actually let us see the swimsuit underneath, Nathalia's looked more like lingerie because of the pattern, Rik's was quite nice & gave you a lot to look at without focusing on any naughty bits.
