  1. Also see the Robert - Willow chemistry, but not just chemistry of two actors, Robert seemed to double take after her (when she says she's a Ravenclaw - iirc), the writing seems to be leaning into it a little. I could see relationship with Kate not working out, and Robert pursuing Willow and being jealous of Liam because Willow is so team-Liam. I don't know where they plan to take that, but I have a feeling I'm not going to like it (ie. Liam will come around to recognizing her value only when Robert does). I think Robert treats Liam the way he does because he's a bit bitter about their situations/responsibilities. I think he avoided that first boat because he didn't want to go back to this, and now that he has it's worse than he imagined (his Father dead, Cyrus king, his brother acting up the way he is, etc.). If he was wanting to avoid this kind of position, he must be feeling a bit of .... resentment? Pressure maybe? Especially with Liam making things worse (getting drunk and fighting with Beck just before the balcony ceremony, giving staff the day off at Christmas but without the advance planning that normally happens and Robert has to rally spirits, giving him attitude etc.). Robert needles him, but I think he's angry and resentful about it all and at some point is going to burst. Really want more Willow and Robert. Maybe Willow will finally actually ask him how he is doing/what happened on the island?
  2. Re: Coma. Maybe the only way to help her will be to have J'onn do the mind meld thing. She helped him in a way that she knew he wouldn't want to save his life, so might be a parallel the other way for J'onn to mind meld her to save her life.
  3. Jeremy Jordan sitting in a PFT(?) on set. This looks like it is in the DEO set. The machine is a "plethysmography machine". From Wikipedia: A plethysmograph is an instrument for measuring changes in volume within an organ or whole body (usually resulting from fluctuations in the amount of blood or air it contains). This looks like a whole body one - so most likely measuring the amount of air. Maybe it will be used with Winn, but the actor may just be sitting in it for fun. If it is Winn, does he get injured in some way? If not, I had a theory that maybe it is used with Supergirl to get her ready for space travel (deep breaths and measuring how much oxygen she has in her blood) - that may be stretching. Speaking of Winn, I understand he is supposed to have a big part (or at least bigger than normal) in the next episode according to a twitter comment he made. A fan stated after the mid-season finale "the show was good. You just need bigger parts. Need more of Mr Jordan" and Jordan replied: "next episode I promise! Great stuff" [Edit: Yay! I made the text link work! Proud of myself]
  4. That sounds like a horror movie thing! This show was my first introduction to Chris Wood. I have since learned he studied musical theatre, so I'm very curious what part he'll play in the musical cross over episode. The interview up above is the first time I've seen Melissa out of her Supergirl character and she is super charming!
  5. Yes, the consensus I have seen is that is Maggie. I assume to talk about the missing girl. I like seeing Chris and Melissa play off each other, so I'm on board for more scenes of them together.
  6. Thanks for the instructions. I'm still illiterate with the forum tools, so I just left it as embedded. I'll get better. :)
  7. New sneak peek is up on CW app. There is someone on twitter who has a copy of it. Pop-up didn't show up to allow it to be text, so it'll just be embedded tweets. And as well there is a short interview with Melissa and Chris where they give some spoilers. Namely: Things are gonna get interplanetary! Intergalactic!
  8. Wikipedia says that "Arcturus is a type K0 III red giant star", but yes is in the orange spectrum and not red, I guess they figured it was close enough. The "red giant" business is annoying, I don't know why they don't just call it an "orange giant" instead.
  9. On the November 16th episode of Fat Man on Batman,(starting at 9:34), Kevin Smith talks a bit about the next Supergirl episode, which he directed. 1. Had high praise for Mellissa and Chris: "Oh my God, cast them in everything, they are adorable. Charm city man". I have read elsewhere that the storyline this episode will feature Mon-el and Kara pretty strongly. 2. There will be a line by J'onn that references the red sun of Krypton - and it is important (Somehow). Kevin: he has a line... I can't say cause it could be a spoiler, but he has a line that is so f-ing DV, specifically superworld.. that's like, kinda... you know what, I can talk about it. he references the red sun of krypton. and so he has this line where he says arturs(?) is a red sun" I didn't get this transcription quite right. If someone hears what he says there better might be more informative. But since Kevin thought it would be spoilery theorizing around why this line would come up in dialogue could help speculation. 3. Big episode with possible space travel or time travel? Kevin: "we do... we do like...(trying to think how to describe)... like, it's very ambitious. It's different from a lot of the Supergirl episodes, it's not different in a bad way, but like we... like.... we take a (knowing look) ***journey***" Mark says: Journey through time and space? Kevin: (looks at him with a grin, taps the table) kinda.... it's big." It helps to watch the actual video, because I feel body language and hesitations gave a certain emphasis to the information than can be conveyed in the words. The Episode is called "Supergirl Lives". There is some speculation that there is a time jump between end of the crossover and start of this episode, at that Supergirl Lives has to do with people thinking she was dead during that time. Supergirl Lives is also an homage to Superman Lives, which has more to do with Superman losing his powers temporarily, and maybe this is the line that the show will go. So based on what Kevin said about the episode, this is my wacky theory: Alien's chasing Mon-el catch up with him and capture him, Kara and J'onn. They are brought somehow into a solar system that has a red sun in order to depower Kara and Mon-el. Kara has to be a hero without her powers, which is how it relates to the original Superman Lives storyline. Mon-el's identity comes out. J'onn not effected by the red sun so still has his powers.... so not so sure about his part; maybe he ends up saving them. Does he have a space ship?
  10. Kara and Mon-el's relationship development is working extremely well for me. I liked the do you like me conversation over Monopoly - Kara came out and asked directly, didn't wait for multiple episodes to gauge where things were, she didn't get someone else to ask for her, she didn't try to ask in a round-about way. Yes, it was a little cutesy because Mon-el didn't understand (IMO, Chose not to understand), but when that didn't work she got to the point "do you want to mate with me". I feel like Mon'el knew what she was asking from the beginning but was trying to deflect. His answer was a non-answer "have you seen the women I've been attracting" - not "have you seen the women I'm attracted to". My interpretation is that he has taken to heart that women on this planet choose who to be mated to, and he doesn't think he measures up - that he is not someone she would choose. Declining the offer for company from the lady at the bar may be an indication that he is changing his focus towards the potential for a relationship with Kara, but refusing to admit it to her might be to give him time to improve himself in her eyes. I felt like him not admitting to remembering the kiss was to keep delaying answering the "do you like me question", but asking "was there anything else I did" was to open the possibility that maybe she would choose him (hypothetically). For me the kiss was perfect. It wasn't a sexual kiss, or a passionate kiss, or even an affectionate kiss - but it was emotional and touching (to me) in context. Those actors are really popping for me in their interactions. I'm really interested in this story with how it is being written and acted. This was a satisfying mid-season finale for me. Kara/Mon-el stuff, Alex/Maggie stuff, Lena vs. Lillian, the juxtaposition of the Lena/Kara friendship with the Lena/Supergirl hardness (certainly in the office, but maybe not so much by the end), the teaser of the aliens searching for Mon-el, Martian Manhunter vs. Cyborg Superman, and the smaller comical interactions/moments that were peppered through out. The only thing I'm a little unsatisfied with was how easily it seemed that J'onn's condition of changing into a White Martian was reverted at the end - I felt like there could have been more story in that, but maybe they had to chop off a minute to get Barry and Cisco in at the end.
  11. Just started watching this show. Really enjoying it. A definite guilty pleasure. Hoping the forums will pick up again for the third season.
  12. I really like that Ressler does follow the rules. I would like for once one of these shows to show that these real life departments can actually work the way they are meant to. I know that it is more dramatic to go against the rules, but I would like to see Ressler be a character where the rules can work - even if not as simply if he were to just break them. Hope they keep him like that. Regarding not liking Profilers - I find that very believable that he might not like a particular group even though he has frequent experience with them. It's like the conflict between production and sales - they have different goals and different criteria and different experiences and frequently the groups get frustrated with each other because of it. I see that all the time. It comes down, I think partially, to no one liking being told how to do their jobs by people who don't end up having to do the nitty-gritty. Glad this season is letting him shine a little more!
  13. I think whatever way they decided to go they would have been forced to have the expositional talk, so there was no avoiding at least some of that. Possibly in the field cracks in the façade could be attributed to other sources than just D'Avin (worrying about Khlyen, worrying for Johnny, worrying about getting hurt, and of course not trusting D'avin) that making it obvious it was D'avin would either take multiple occasions, more exposition, and overall more episode time. I agree though that it would have been more exciting and more natural to see it unravel in the field, at a make-or-break point, because how they did do it was pretty corny. But If they have limited episode time to get through this realization and get D'Avin off the ship, then I can see isolating her response to just about him (ie. not being able to be around him) and forcing the discussion to occur at an earlier time then natural (ie. holding them hostage to actually answer those questions directly) may have been a decision of expediency rather than storytelling. In the end, I'm glad they got it over with quickly, like pulling off a bandaid, and it could have been worse (ie. just spontaneously talking about their feelings! yikes). I have to admit that I cringed at the dancing; I couldn't believe they were going there.... but then I ended up re-watching that scene twice because of how well they acted it and how swiftly the emotions were changing. It's weird how a scene can make me be both embarrassed for the show, and admiring of the show at the same time! I took it more as unlikely they would even give him a gun. I doubt a soldier would willingly give their gun to someone they don't trust, especially when they're likely going to need it. I don't think they expected him to actually accomplish anything, but were willing to wait a while if there was a chance it would avoid a gun fight in which they could get injured/lose a life.
  14. Makes sense, thanks cynic. I phrased my wording very poorly that it comes off as refuting that motivation, as that possibility opened my eyes to how this show could have been different. That first warrant had a firefly/action adventure/hero vibe that later warrants did not have, and that would have been cool to see, and I've been thinking about it the last half day. So I'm glad the suggestion came up, because it gave me something tangible to think about that I wasn't getting otherwise, but next time I'll leave it at describing how I feel about the idea rather than trying to extrapolate from there how others feel. I appreciate your response.
  15. Is that how my post came across? I didn't mean for it to. It sort of makes it hard to discuss something when either side doesn't make an effort to try to understand where an opposite opinion might come from. I do know what you mean though. I know I was put off a bit by insinuations that people only like Dutch and D'avin together for superficial reasons, which was not why I liked them together. That's probably similar to what you are talking about. Although it did make me write an explanation for why I found that their chemistry worked - so something came out of it. Anyway, I'll keep this in mind.
