I had the exact same thought. Megumi’s Stand looked like something from the season of JoJo where they used “Walk Like An Egyptian”.

I wasn’t that into this show, but I shotgunned the last 20 eps since the holiday break, and it’s grown on me. I’m over Boruto’s dad issues but I really like most of the other characters. I found that “let’s defend Denki’s capitalist overlord” plot vaguely unsettling. Next thing PETA will be the enemy.

Did toonami not air Shippuden last weekend? The last one I saw was where he argues with the nine tails.

I’m somehow bummed that our protagonist beats the arrow demon by just remembering to do his mystical techniques but moreso. Then I remembered that was the plot of shows I really liked, like BLEACH, so I guess I can’t complain too hard. I guess I just wanted there to be more of a trick to it somehow.

The dance number / torture may have been the actual peak bizarre moment of the series.

Was it just me, or did Iris have a thing for her? I’m really liking Maki’s new gear.

I finally caught up and I’ve been really enjoying this one. It seems like each episode answers one question but raises a couple more. I am getting a little worried about Tsukasa, but I guess he’s big enough to take care of himself.

Yeah that was confusing - apparently the zippers went into the wrong boat when originally looking for the enemy stand. (Which turned out to be one of the forgettable thugs in the car from last ep, that was a surprise.) I enjoyed how the stand personified the fly, even though really it was the one guys shoe really.

I wouldn’t want the jellyfish in my mouth after that, though 😞. Yuck.

It still feels a bit light but I’m enjoying the cinematography more in recent episodes. Here’s hoping it keeps going in the right direction. It took me a while to realize who the captain they fought at the junkyard looked like, but then I realized: Fools!

I’m way behind on Boruto - due to a dead cable box I had to catch a bunch of them subbed on the Internet. Hoping to catch up before they start airing again.

Thanks for firing up a thread. I mentioned before - the fact that Tonjiro joins up with a guy basically wearing the Akatsuki cloud pattern robe can’t be good, right? For some reason the authentic (?) looking legwear really makes this show real for me. (That, and the protagonist’s ever-changing forehead scar.)

The JoJo reference really brought it home.

I was a little grouchy about the Forge event, but I have my stuff set to tape slightly long so it didn’t clip anything important. Bubble Girl definitely keeping it slightly awkward to watch this show with the kids. Maybe she’ll give Mineta a run for his money.

Summer Vacation episode. I’m glad Megumi got to go back home to the redneck country of North Japan or wherever she’s from. I forgot she was a country girl. Meanwhile, Isami is literally half of himself. “There’s going to be some vicious cooking ahead”, followed by a cooking montage. I like that this ep was basically character building.

The janitor putting out the light was sort of karmic for Giorno, although ultimately bad for the janitor. I figured he’d run back upstairs and try to relight it from the still smoking passport, with hilarity ensuing as Giorno tries to fan the flames back to light, and Koichi tries to fight him off.

The Mifune back story was way better than Road to Sakura. Although I feel like the Great Ninja War is kind of an excuse to fill in the back story on a ton of minor characters that we couldn’t learn about organically somehow. (We never even met Mifune until the recent Kage summit where the Raikage lost his arm, right?)

As far as I’m concerned, they could’ve made the whole series about Squad Company Seven. Although picturesque, building your neighborhood from wood in a Fortean future of potential Human Torches seems problematic. (Flame On!)

That first ep was sweet. The power to have stuff be in someone’s mouth is horrifying.

Demon Slayer update: Tonjiro accidentally joins the Akatsuki, hilarity ensues.

Is there a Fire Force thread I’ve missed? It’s predictable but charming, and I’m liking the animation.

Anyone else watching this one? Only at ep 1 so far but I plan to catch up shortly. I love that we’re going to Robinson Crusoe this whole thing, but I can’t help suspect the brainiac is somehow the cause.

I’m enjoying the random craziness of the Ninja War, although it really has a cast of thousands. I kind of wish they’d sent one of those telepathic ninja with Naruto so they could summon him back once he’s fully trained. I believe the sum total of their communication tools is Gai-Sensei’s turtle, and he accidentally used that up while seasick.
