  1. I couldn't agree more, but tell that to AD, because I don't think Calvin will be back, which I don't like. I got the prison analogy, but she didn't have to be so on the nose using that word in reference to their relationship. I got that she feels like she would have to edit herself, maybe as to not offend him or have to explain things to him about her work that she wouldn't have to explain to the Dr. she just sent packing. But again, I still think those are all excuses to avoid a complicated relationship with a man she truly loves and actually has some real passion for, yes, Nova makes my head hurt also. And the man finally came to her and explained his journey, which I understood and still... Based on what he was saying, he was never in love with his wife, even before there was a Nova, sucks. People doing shit just to please their parents, not one thing in his life has been chosen because he had a passion for it except for Nova. It sucks most for his kids, I think he loves his kids but he doesn't love the act of parenting, because he didn't want to be a parent, I get it. If anything, I'm only annoyed that he became a parent knowing he didn't want children. You can take on shit that you don't really want all the day long but don't bring kids into it, these are human beings. I totally admire people who don't have kids because they damn well know they don't want to raise them, and there's not a damn thing selfish about it. What Calvin did was selfish, having kids knowing he didn't want them just so he could paint the picture that his father wanted for him. It's sad and a waste.
  2. Yeah, all I know is Nova has not looked at another man the way she looks at Calvin. I get what she was saying though, it would be hella complicated because of his badge first and foremost. But I could have sworn he got down on one knee and told her that he'd give her whatever she wanted. I know I heard that, then he listed how everything in his life including his children were not what he wanted except her. Damn, and she still could not find a way. I think he was ready to give up that badge and lay bricks for a living if she'd have him. He' fine. I'll get to hot mess Darla ANC RA some other time, good lord.
  3. Rachel is alone a lot of times IMO, that's one of the reasons why I watch her. The other tv journalists are usually late to the game when it comes to the real important stuff. She, that staff of hers, which she admitted in and interview goes through a fast turnover because of how hard they work. They do their homework unlike these other news programs on the other networks and some of the others on MSNBC. But some other show did cover Chad a bit and they focused on the country being on the Muslim ban list. But I'm not sure I heard them cover in detail on how they pulled out of Niger and how they were a huge presence there in fighting ISIS. I think it might have been on Morning Joe after Rachel covered it. But of course Rachel is relentless on shit that matters so no one is covering this like her. Nope, they are overly focused on Trump's latest diversion, fanning the culture war flames with the back and forth between he and this congresswoman over his shitty phone call to our deceased soldier's wife. But Rachel's credibility is in tact, down to investigating they model/type printer markings on paper to detect fraudulent information, so freaking impressive. So if she's covering, the only question I have is why are other journalist not doing their job like she is? Which is a rhetorical question, because the rest of them are just lazy and/or just aren't as smart to know how to cut through the bullshit "news" and get to what's most important and informative like she can. I think it's the latter, they just aren't as skilled as she is to cut through it all in this era of Trump fake news and diversion.
  4. But it's hard because they keep showing pieces of the flash forward at the end of each episode. So they showed Michaela, Laurel, the Dr.,Frank and Bonnie at the crime scene at Anna's hotel at the end of the first one, and they continue to show Michaela in the Dr.'s arms and that crime scene in this episode. So it is something they continue to show us at the end of each episode seems like. Now they've added another piece of the flash foward of Oliver at another crime scene at Caplan and Gold to this episode. So all this is actually in the episode to talk about. And you can't really talk about it without asking questions and somewhat speculating because there are details missing in scenes that are to come, that they are currently showing at the end of each episode.
  5. Exactly, why are they NEVER written for any extended period of time to be facilitating her with anything that's important and personal in her life? My question is rhetorical, I already know the answer and I'm sticking to it until main stream Hollywood proves me wrong. I won't hold my breath, it will take many more Ava Duvernay types for this to happen. Speaking of holding my breath, one shouldn't hold their breath for this either: Not on this show, please. Nowalk is going on in interviews for this season about how the couple is suppose to be happy and living together, yet we've seen like what? One damn scene with them in that apt. and it was wasted IMO all on beast mode which was in reaction to Anna. No matter how cute it was it was slim pickings when it comes to real adult shit that I like to see my tv couples engaged in. We have Connor and Oliver having adult convos. about their future and the rest of the one on one couple time will be given to Frank and Laurel, again, don't hold your breath.
  6. Yeah, it was a look IMO that said, she never even thought about it that way. She never even thought that her mommy issues had anything to do with seeking out these strong, female mentors. Her expression was one of being stunned, more bewildered, and then pensive about what Anna had just said to her.
  7. I think she is referring to Laurel's baby, but she is saying that with the knowledge that someone has already died at her job and that is the blood on her dress. I bet it is Teagan and that blood on her dress is from her trying to save her life. I believe when she asks is he dead? She wants to know if the baby died TOO, in addition to whoever was killed at her job, as she says that every dies around us or something to that effect. This would explain why I find it weird that if she was with Laurel and did help deliver he baby, why is she showing up when she does? Why isn't she there right along with Frank running down the hall with the Dr. telling him that she's up? It's because she wasn't there she's coming from whatever the hell happened at her job. She has absolutely no blood stains on her hands, her manicure is in tact so those bloody hand prints are not hers in that elevator. She looks like she's in shock and just wandered into that hospital and finds herself looking in the nursery. I don't buy her washing blood off her hands that well if at all in her state.
  8. It's horrible and they've yet to show a scene between Masher that's just about them and their relationship. That beast mode shit was a reaction to Anna. Yep, Nowwalk has got Shonda's stinky stench of short changing couples and characters they don't really give a shit about down to a science. He really did learn a lot from Shondaland University (insert sarcasm.) Now I definitely believe that Mickey is talking about the baby in the flash forward. But I think she believes he's dead because of whoever got killed at Caplan & Gold. I believe that blood on her clothes is from trying to save whoever got shot there, then she's in such a state of shock she also then thinks if the baby isn't there he must be dead too. Anna was actually trying to mentor Mickey when she warned her that she was back to that same pattern of looking for a mother figure in these professional mentors she seeks out because yes, she did not have a loving mother, family in general. Peter Nowalk isn't original, Mickey is the Cristina Yang of the group, she has the same obsession with looking for and attaching herself to these mentors in an unhealthy way. She's got to stop that and truly admire how awesome she is to have achieved what she has achieved after being left like garbage in an abandoned shack when she was a baby only to be given to a pack of wolves that she had to then fight her way out of. That's why for me, I have the same amount of respect for her as I do Anna. She's been a damn grown up since she was a child. It's her adoptive mother who acts like the child and decides to fake an illness to get money from her kid. Mickey is the one student of Anna's that's had to truly only rely on herself, no middle class to rich parent paying her bills, guiding nor supporting her in any way. So this shit where she needs to look up and respect Anna or any other adult like she's wet behind the ears like the rest of them who really don't know shit about what it truly means to be on your own...well I beg to differ. She's as equal to Anna and Bonnie when it comes to being a woman truly on her own. Even more so than Anna because Anna has a loving mother. Anna's mother killed for her. Her sister loves her and she finally got an apology from that father of hers. Nope, I admire Mickey a lot more . I'm still impressed by Anna but...
  9. But this wouldn't make any sense to me seeing as in the end he got his true love Trudy to marry him when they had that second child. So, if anything he should be closer to the daughter who may have resembled his true love. It would be one thing if he never got to live out his days with Trudy and Trudy went and married someone else, but that wasn't the case. I mean, usually if your one true love dies, one tends to be thankful that they at least have a piece/pieces of that loved one through the children they shared. Nope, he was distant from Nova because Nova had a story in her head, left home, and didn't bother to visit, and I don't blame her for feeling the way she did based on the info. she had. Then according to her, he would pressure her on when she was going to give him grandchildren, etc... that's what she told Aunt Vi in the episode where they found out from RA that he was left the land. So she felt like she was a disappointment, so she didn't come around. Now I don't know what happened while Nova was growing up and how often Earnest called or visited, and I'd like those details. I'm thinking it wasn't often enough so...that's on him, not Aunt Vi. And I don't get the sense that Trudy would have stood in the way of him seeing his daughter, even Nova said she doesn't remember her mom talking bad about Lorna. I'd like to know at what age would Nova have been when Earnest came back? And, how often did she see him when he was married to Lorna?
  10. I don't think anyone gets killed this season and if they do, they won't be that important, and no one will care including the authorities, LOL. I mean this show is that hot of a mess, so why not? I think in all the write ups I read on this season, Nowalk claimed that this season would be a bit different because the question to be answered would be "Where?" not "Who?" So, whoever Michaela thinks is dead, I'm thinking that person or baby is alive unbeknownst to her and they are just missing. So lord help me, we will have to spend I don't know how freaking long looking for them. I mean the question is posed in the beginning episodes of the season and I think Laurel shouts it out in episode one, "Where's my baby?" And if that's the case they better make that shit interesting, I mean real interesting. The only way I thought it would be interesting was if she lost the baby, went nuts and had a hysterical pregnancy, something like that. I hope they don't drop the ball, good luck to them. Because we still don't know why Wes was murdered, why? It can't just be because he was dating Laurel, there's got to be more to it than that. There better be. Or, for all we know the baby was in that nursery and Frank just didn't get around to telling Laurel where he is in that scene. Although, how he could be so stupid and not tell a frightened new mother that her baby is alive, or he's in surgery, something like that to keep her from losing it would be beyond me. I mean she keeps screaming wanting to know where he is so.... Frank's not stupid. We assume Michaela's looking in that nursery, thinking the baby isn't in there, but maybe that's not the case. Whatever happened, the way the doctor is playing it, he really doesn't look like he's in the know. Yet he's calling Anna telling her that she, Laurel is up, so...Anna knows what went down, she knows Laurel's in the hospital. For some reason, I don't think what happened to Michaela has anything to do with the "birth" of Laurel's baby.
  11. It's different IMO, very different, because every woman on that show has at least one person who IMO loves them dearly and looks out for them. There is a safe place for them to fall. Heck at times you have that safe person taking it on themselves to bring up something that they know is wrong with that person without that woman having to bring it up. Meaning, the love is shown for that woman because the other person is observant and gives a shit about how well she's living her life. That has never been the case for Michaela, no way, not on this show . I have a specific issue with the black female character who does not receive warmth, support, shoulder to cry on at least once and while, in between all her saving. Connor gave Michaela support for like two damn seconds back without saying something nasty and insulting back in season one when Aiden dumped her. Nope, AD has got it right for me and so does Issa Raye on nsecure for that matter. Nowalk and Shondaland in general fell asleep at the wheel a long time ago for me. Like I said, this is the only Shondaland show I've had patience for and now that patience has worn thin.
  12. Yes, she doesn't give a shit about Michaela's well being which is why I totally reject any friendship they are suppose to have. She tried to pimp her out to Mahoney literally, she actually wanted to risk Michaela being raped by a supposed rapist just so she could figure out what happened to Wes. Too bad she doesn't get that no one gave enough of a shit about Wes to volunteer time and time again to put their lives in danger to figure out what happened to him. But fucking Nowalk keeps writing this bullshit and putting Michaela on the deck to help Laurel with her bullshit. If she wanted a damn job at that firm she could have gotten one, she didn't care to try because her head isn't in the game, that's something she and Connor have in common. Yeah, I'm watching Nowalk's "pattern" which is why I have one foot out the door. I'm getting sick of Asher too, let me see if Nowalk writes him to support a traumatized Michaela. Because he sure had time to run around and set up an intervention for Connor. This is a pattern in Hollywood with black female characters, and thank goodness for the Ava Duverney's of the business now, that I don't have to continue to entertain this insulting nonsense anymore. I'm not interested in the black girl saving the day all the time and taking care of everyone, it dehumanizes her, it is definitely a pattern. When is someone going to take care of her? She's taking care of her out of control boyfriend, while he continues to act the fucking fool and now her "fake" friend is once again putting her life in danger. Nowalk tweeting some shit about if your bae doesn't stick up for you like Michaela, leave them. Right? So when will Michaela's bae be called to task to do the same for her? I'm tired Nowalk, I'm out if it continues.
  13. Funniest line of the night was Asher turning to Michaela and asking: "Wait, do you feel this way about me because I don't have an internship?" (aimless, deadbeat loser) LOL, the answer is probably, yes. You better go out there and try to get a temp job, something that doesn't include shaking your ass in a bar. And to top it off, she just kept on ranting at Connor and didn't even look in Asher's direction after he said it. That was funny.
  14. I did too and I am glad that Nova no longer has to resent Lorna, because it sucks to be building a nice sisterly bond with her only sister, but to have such negative feelings towards her mother. After all, you wouldn't have that sister if said mother didn't give birth to her. Ugh, Aunt Vi, I will be side eyeing you for some time to come for that fake family history you were peddling to your niece for all these years.
  15. Kinda, like she was in some kind of struggle because it wasn't just her make up, her hair looked like it was messy and I'm not going to assume it was from a windy day either. It's interesting that she didn't have any blood on her hands though, on her blouse, but not her hands. There was no blood, didn't even see dirt while she held her hands up on that class looking at those babies and I don't buy that she washed the blood off. That manicure looked like it was holding up, I didn't even notice a broken nail. Too me, she looked way to out of it to have wash anything off, so I wonder whose bloody hand prints are on that elevator wall. Yeah, I don't get Peter Nowalk and how he thinks this true, great love thing is supposed to work, he should of quit a long time ago, because it's not believable. She was into Wes yet she jealously ran over to Anna's house to rat out that Bonnie was with Frank, is Nowalk serious? Bottom line though, IMO Wes didn't have any sexy chemistry with anyone they paired him with. He didn't have friendship chemistry with anyone in particular, the only one he had chemistry with was Anna, his surrogate mother. How in the hell are you going to go from the steamy shit Frank and Laurel were doing to Laurel and Wes, WTF is wrong with you Nowalk? Hell, Laurel even had more chemistry with that boyfriend she had at the start of the show, I think he was a professor. But now I'm so sick of Laurel infused in every damn thing and having the option to go back and forth that I don't care about her love life. And she's starting to ruin Frank for me, well Frank might be doing that all on his own. She's a real turn off, like Meredith Grey levels at this point. Now her baby has gone somewhere and we'll be treated, I mean tortured with her drama indefinitely, where everybody has to huddle around her bullshit, and worry about her, ugh. I'm numb to her pain.
  16. I think Anna goes nuts and takes that baby. That therapist may make a true point or two about her but he's shady as hell. His "therapy" is about to fry her brain. Who the hell was he so intimately speaking to on the phone about Anna before there first session? Sorry, that wasn't her parole officer or review board, shady. I don't know how to read that expression on her face after Laurel shits all over her then tells her the baby is a boy. I tell ya how I don't read it, I don't think her expression had a damn thing to do with Wes. I don't think if had a thing to do with caring that Wes won't be around to raise his son. "Keep your professor FAR....away..." Yeah that sounds like the professor is a dangerous threat.
  17. That new lawyer, Mickey's boss, she's gotta be more involved in it all, because it seems like Laurel's father is her client. Mickey specifically asked her to work on the account she used the name of company. It's all shady, it's HTGAWM. And yes, if there really is/was a baby, and Laurel was drugged and gave birth, why does Mickey worse than her in every possible way. She looks like she needs a hospital bed. Iran where did she come from? Why does that Dr. even looked surprised to see her and it wasn't just the blood. He was surprised to see it was her instead of Anna before he noticed the blood. Where did come from? Where was she? Clearly Laurel has been unconscious for a bit, so where was bloodied Mickey during that time? Why does it seem like it's unexpected to see her there? Was she not with Laurel when Laurel was found?
  18. So how does that doctor know Michaela's name? Because he does call her by her name after ridiculously mistaking her for Anna. Not even The back of Mickey's head gets him off the hook for me, she and Anna still don't look alike, cut the shit Peter. First, Mickey is several, several feet shorter than Anna even in heels. But it is interesting that the Dr.knows her name in that flash forward.
  19. What the hell? That's all I got, and I got one foot out the door when it comes to this show. Fuck around royally with Michaela and the other foot will soon follow. I already don't watch the other two shows in Shondaland, cause I never got into Scandal so... And if Asher isn't written to be taking care of Michaela when all this shit hits the fan he can go ahead and pack his shit, and "call Tyrone," or his fucking Bon, Bon. Speaking of Bon Bon, when the hell will she stop playing second , no make that third to the other two women in Frank's life that he clearly cares more about? God, I hate to see women play second best, hate it.
  20. No, I meant my ego, because I think these men think that women don't have egos. But I can see why they do think that way since women IMO tend to forgive all sorts of humiliating behavior from them that they would never forgive in return. And of course I meant having respect for myself and my self worth, but I thought that went without me having to say it. I mean if I get up from the table and we don't finish the date let alone have a second one because you decided to wax poetic about your great love, then yeah, clearly I and any woman who responded that way IMO would know they're worth more. I just don't know how that's not a turn off and how you don't lose your appetite. But to each his own. I don't know, but what was his worth, that he kept crawling back to a woman who could not love him the way he needed to be loved? Hell, how much you wanna bet that they still weren't married until AFTER RA was born. Like even with the second kid in the oven she still wanted to wait. Yeah, it sure was messy.
  21. Well it's complex for me because it came off as I don't want that "thing" in my house and that made me cringe. He was a nice guy and just chilling and watching the game with his boss. But even though it came off that way, I don't feel that, that's where her heart was, she's wasn't looking down on him. I also don't think it can be summed up as she just hates white people; but I do think she has a justified fear and mistrust of them, of their intentions. Given her generation, living in Jim Crow south, I understand that fear and mistrust. Her home is a place where she does NOT have to manage her blackness. So she doesn't want anyone, nor anything in her home that makes her feel that tense feeling of oppression that she will probably walk around with for the rest of her life no matter how many damn pies she sells or 50K checks she gets. Now if a qualified white girl comes into that diner and there's an opening for a job, but she turns her down, then I'm going to seriously side eye her because that is the definition of racism. Because she's doing business with a white man when it comes to her pie business so...
  22. And, the Landrys are STILL acting a fool, so I get where this "old" gal who lived Jim Crow is coming from. That kind of trauma is hard to wash away and to figure out where to put while folks, especially those who haven't lived through that shit in real time go around saying the world isn't the same anymore and things have changed or gotten better. Yeah, BUT... That being said, Vi is a hot mess, she really hurt Nova the most by fucking with her head and it was all self-serving. On behalf of Trudy and Trudy/Earnest great love my ass. She was plain old jealous and angry that a woman, a white woman "took" her brother away from her, not Trudy. She maligned Lorna and the woman did absolutely nothing wrong except toward herself in settling for being second best, which she all but admitted to. Any man who takes me out on a first date and proceeds to bring up his great love, who he can't be with because she won't marry him, well that'll be our last date. Nope, my ego can't put up with that. While we're on the subject of Lorna, I like her, probably because I like Sharon Lawrence too and I think she is actually good for Charlie. I hope to see her again. Kiki is such a catch, what an adorable, smart, and talented young lady. Now we come to RA, lord help me LOL, my goodness, what baggage he has. He "is a know it all" RA! That's what you want in a professor, someone who kinda knows the ALL of a particular subject matter. You want an expert if you're going to shell out 400+ dollars a credit you sensitive ass. I tip my hat to Remy, that was a very loving and patient way to handle the situation. RA and Darla have a long road to travel before they will even remotely be ready for marriage. I loved their counseling session, but it will only work if RA gets some introspection into what all his baggage contains and if he's willing to do the work. Half the time I'm thinking is he just lazy? No, that can't be it, he gets out in that field working day in and day out farming the land, that's not a lazy man. So it all goes back to the baggage and it keeps dragging him down.
  23. I did, I'm happy he's finally got a steady, high profile gig like this, he's been at it for a bit. IMO, comedians and rappers make for good actors. The really good ones, already have stage presence and great timing and both disciplines require frank honesty for success; well, the ones that I find successful have these skills in spades. That honesty and openness to reveal what's deep down in their guts lends itself to truly being able to portray a character well.
  24. Sorry Abby, but you can't give a gift and then dictate what the receiver does with it. Not to mention, did you not hear Darlene last week tell you that her aunt wouldn't give her any money because she had played her one too many times. If you weren't so privileged and just plain naive that should have been a clue that you would end up getting played. She literally told you that's who she is and why? Who knows, I hope to find out more, but it is what it is. I knew she was going home to recruit some other naive country girl for her pimp. He has her trained and she doesn't want to go home to stay, because as trained as she is, her pimp isn't holding her hostage. She can leave and go far away whenever she wants and not turn back. I loved when, I forgot her name, but she "belongs" to Lori's pimp as well, I loved when she schooled Abby on Darlene's life and how maybe she's doing and is exactly where she wants to be, about how all these men are "pimps" in many of these sex workers eyes, your daddy, your husband and at least the pimps are up front about their game.
  25. Not for me, I could watch a spin off with at least Connor, Michaela and Asher...ok, throw in Oliver. That's the thing for me with Shondaland shows, I usually latch on to characters who are not the main character on these shows, which makes it easier for me to stop watching when they don't give those characters their due. Yeah, like when it looks like they are purposely holding those actors/characters back almost as if they are afraid of what? I dont' know. I just find that shows in Shondaland have too many good actors and interesting characters and the writers NEVER seem to be able to capitalize on this very well in that they insist on always having to making everything about those characters tie to the lead character. That's just not necessary when you have so many promising actors and characters, it just looks like the writers are lazy to me. I started watching this show just for Viola, to give her my support because she's no doubt a brilliant actress and a few other reasons that have to do with Hollywood politics. But I definitely don't need to see Michaela interact with Anna to find Michaela interesting. The actress and character can stand on their own IMO. I think Connor and even Laurel as annoyed as I am with her eating up screen time can all stand on their own, they don't need Anna to be interesting IMO.
