  1. As others have said, WTF did Kara Saun’s lace negligée have to do with the Tulsa Massacre? (Nothing, is the correct answer.) And IMO it seemed pretty gross to capitalize on that in order to make up meaning for underwear.
  2. With time, FJ would have been easy but there was no way I was going to get that within 30 seconds. I forgot the 500 so ended up with 1166. I knew I was missing one but couldn’t come up with it fast enough without having the time to write them all down and see what was missing.
  3. Yeah that was weird. We never saw what happened to the big bald SOA guy. I guess they killed him? I guess he told them the SOA leader killed Felipe? I totally forgot who the girl in the car who stabbed the Mayan even was. One of the Mayan bartenders but what she knew about all their crimes I don’t remember. Why was the writing on this series so poorly handled with so much happening offscreen? I don’t normally have trouble keeping characters and plots straight on other shows but here for some reason it is always so confusing. All I wanted was for Sally to make it out OK, and EZ to die, so yay for that. I guess all the main Mayans are dead after that raid. Way to go EZ, quite a Pyrrhic victory there.
  4. That’s not an actual school, MoMA PS1 is an art museum in a decommissioned school, there are no classes or students.
  5. Insta instaget FJ for me tonight. I said it before Ken had even said five words. Really glad Mia did not win. Her interview segment really turned me off. I sure hope she watched La La Land at home…
  6. Thanks! I was watching later at night on the DVR but did not pause it so only had the 30 seconds. Actually my brain first went "Hmm, aren't there two painters named van Eyck, one younger & one the elder? That's come up before... Wait no the names are similar not the same, and in France, Ah of course Manet & Monet. Wait do they want one or two... ok yeah "these two men" they want both." All that within the 30 seconds, ha! I've been a regular everyday watcher for, jeez I don't know, more than 20 years. Ken Jennings had his run in 2004 (!!) and I was already regularly watching before then.
  7. Got FJ tonight but had to read the clue a couple times to make sure they wanted both names and not the elder. I can’t believe Alex missed that medical question. That was so easy… (And notty and naughty are not homophones …)
  8. First Creeper with EZ and now the mother Emily killed: ”Hi person who betrayed me/killed my son, I know you’re a really bad person and is capable of murder and has gang/cartel connections. I know what you did and I’m going to turn you in and ruin your life!! I’m telling you this in private so that no one else knows I know about you and I totally trust you won’t kill me.” 🙄
  9. I got FJ immediately and was surprised none of them got it! “Fashion fad of the 1940s” means “bobbysoxers” to me because I know they were crazy about Sinatra. After coming up with it, I then worked backwards to make sure it fit the clue, “ah yes, to bob something means to cut it, that has to be correct.”
  10. 3rd instaget FJ for me this week! Seems they’ve been a bit easier lately. I always root for the players who go right to the theatre categories so was glad Bryan won. (Anyone else think he looks like the actor Chris Sullivan?) My Tolkien nerdiness came out because I answered “Khazad-dûm” for the Mines of Moria. 😄 Still correct since that’s just the same place in the language of the Dwarves.
  11. I started rooting for Donna when she knew all the Broadway questions! (I saw all five of those productions.) I had no clue for FJ, I also thought “I dunno, Laura Ingalls Wilder or whoever wrote Anne of Green Gables.” Never would have come up with Willa Cather.
  12. Oh good!! That is what I first thought she meant but wasn't sure so was pretty shocked at the very first Google result for the term. Thanks for clarifying that.
  13. I just wanted to know what a “stay-at-home daughter” is! I Googled it and the definition I found on Wikipedia is pretty gross so I hope she meant it some other way… ”The purpose of stay-at-home daughters is to "learn to assist their future husbands as helpmeets in their exercise of dominion by practicing that role in their relationship with their father."
  14. At least you didn’t say Australia was next to the Atlantic! 😂
  15. I had never heard the news story but I immediately answered Dolly Parton. Just the way the clue was written about heart and giving sounded like something she would do. 🤷‍♀️ Well the correct answer was “The Commitments” which is a similar word to “Replacements” and when the right answer was given you could hear the champ go “ahh!” I think it was just one of those times when you know the answer but your brain makes you say something similar instead.
  16. I knew Jacob was gonna be the first to tap out the moment he appeared on screen. No one else in the pod was even giving him a second thought, he was just scared. “Oh no, there are too many Black people here! Everyone is gonna suspect I don’t belong here!” They need to weed out people like this.
  17. Yeah, most of his competitors have been… not that formidable. And honestly he’s right up there with them with so many TS’s so I expect once he faces actual competition he’ll be out very fast. How did none of three people know “hallowed be thy name”!? JFC I’m a Jewish atheist and I know that phrase from simply being alive and part of the world. One person missing it ok, we all get brain farts, but all three!? I don’t understand it. FJ was the most insta of instagets. I knew Saturday Night Fever was 1977/1978 and the soundtrack was the biggest thing around that time. Didn’t even need to know the other film, it couldn’t be anyone but Travolta.
  18. They did accept it, because that was the answer. Allison got it right.
  19. I loved the category names for the Jeopardy! round but I was expecting the last one to be devoted to Stephen Sondheim! Man was I yelling at the contestants tonight. The novel category especially. “Javert! Fagin!! Goddamn Joseph K, what is wrong with you three people!? How do none of you know any of these!?”
  20. I was so sure the FJ answer was car racing due to the Fast & Furious franchise.😅 I was just trying to think of franchise films that were somehow sports related! And awww, awkward time to promote Bad Cinderella since it closes on Sunday. 🫣
  21. I may suck at geography but at least I know Peru is not in North America!! 🤣
  22. 🙄 Oh please. I am so sick of internet people trying so hard to be offended at everything and find insults everywhere they can.
  23. Yeah but Mattea was wagering on James betting everything and getting it right.
  24. Because Appalachin is how it’s pronounced. The last a is silent. This comes up again and again. FJ answers can be misspelled as long as it doesn’t change the pronunciation. If Ben had written “Bennedikk” that would have been ruled correct. But -dict is not pronounced the same as -dick.
