  1. Rhea Seehorn gives interviews: https://www.vulture.com/2019/06/rhea-seehorn-better-call-saul-veep.html https://www.indiewire.com/2019/05/better-call-saul-rhea-seehorn-emmys-fyc-1202130932/ ETA: Season 5 production is currently underway.
  2. Thank you. This notion that a "pretty" woman cannot excel and achieve great things by working her butt off at her passion is toxic. Also the notion that a woman who is not conventionally "pretty" is "frumpy" and therefore unlikable is equally offensive. It was obvious in the finale that Tom admired the two women as accomplished chefs and as human beings. And so do I.
  3. It's not a "bad" thing. It's a great way for the right person to become very wealthy. Be the founder, campaign for huge corporate grants, run ads to get individual donations, pay yourself "wages" as the CEO, then spend a minimal amount of $$ on your "mission", drink champagne and travel first class. Happens all the time.
  4. Finally, a thoughtful analysis of the difference between the previous week's strategy and the current week's strategy. I am so tired of a woman whining "sexism" when her strategy was simply a week behind the curve.
  5. Season 14 premiere now scheduled for October 3. https://tvline.com/2018/07/24/fall-tv-premiere-dates-2018-schedule-calendar-printable/
  6. As previously mentioned, "He's practicing law in the same state and the same city as Jimmy McGill that he will later practice in as Saul Goodman. Albuquerque New Mexico." He would simply appear before a judge, explain his reasons, and have his name changed legally. His social security number will not change, only his name changes. It's only slightly more complicated than if "Mary Jones" got a law degree, and practiced law, got married (or divorced) and subsequently wanted to be known professionally as "Mary Smith."
  7. Season 14 premieres September 26: http://www.tvguide.com/news/criminal-minds-season-14-premiere-date/
  8. START is an acronym for Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, signed in the early '90's about when the Soviet Union collapsed. There were also SALT (Strategic Arms Limitation Talks) conferences around the time period of the show. Not a happy time for Elizabeth.
  9. I am concerned that the ending of the show may deteriorate into badly written fanfic. I hope they rise above that.
  10. Gag me. So the FBI is full of fat stinky slobs, horny misfit partners, young women who drool over the professor and behave like adolescents, and careerists who only value power and care nothing for saving lives. Yup, that's our FBI. Not exactly an episode to use for recruitment.
  11. Oh no. Is she the mole who fed inside information to Mr Scratch? Is she being blackmailed/controlled by his successor? Is she the Manchurian Assistant Director? Ugh. Hope not.
  12. I assumed the empty chair was for the "ghost." That was the theme, haunted hotel, Stephen King, the Shining, etc.
  13. Putting together the discussion about holding up numbers with the discussion about Besh being edited out, isn't it logical that Besh held up scores also? And that with Besh's scores tallied, the final standings were as we saw them, but with different totals? So they tossed out Besh's numbers but HAD to come to same standings. That justifies Tom's comment (added later?) about needing a certain result. That comment itself probably should not have been shown because it is confusing unless you know the Besh situation. And any analysis of the tally is flawed because of missing data.
  14. Two alpha females cannot exist for long in the same time and space. Especially two alpha females who have set themselves up to carry a torch for their own ethnicity, gender, and cuisine. Tanya's constant eye rolls revealed her preexisting disdain for Claudette. Claudette had previously expressed regret that the last remaining female she could bond with (Lee Anne) was gone. This was full claws out bitchitude from the get go. No sympathy for either one.
  15. Just some thoughts from being a figure skating fan for decades. I remember when Rudy Galindo and Kristi Yamaguchi were robbed of a national pairs title when the sentimental favorites went splat so many times. The explanation was that they had to "wait their turn." Sigh. The evolution of the points system slightly improved the scoring system. It was harder to hide favoritism by the judges. But it's still there. Sure, it's easy to feel an emotional connection to a skater or a pair and root for them. And maybe you have an emotional disconnect from other skaters and it's easy to disparage their character. Who knows, maybe the skaters you "hate" kick puppies. But EVERY skater who competed has dedicated years or decades of their lives to the sport. Give them a frickin break. I wish the US could send five men to the Olympics. The reality is that only three can go. I wish there were an objective standard for figure skating like there is in the 100 meters. But there isn't and never will be. It's a subjective decision from emotionally biased judges because they are human. I feel so much sympathy for the skaters who blew their chance at the Olympics. It will haunt them forever. If I were Ashley, I'd be pissed and so would you. Jason would win a competition that disallowed quads, but that's not the real world. But... congrats to all who make the cut. And Starr is just adorable, I fully admit I am prejudiced in her favor.
