Charlotte’s speech was so contrived, but I guess that is a given. Did anyone think her eyes looked strange? I know she has blue eyes, but I thought that they looked like they had some kind of film over them, almost like colored contacts. They were also quite glassy, and very reptilian in shape and how they were stretched out across her face. Honestly I could not stop starring and hard to rewind it a couple times. They looked so, so odd. I don’t remember that from her before, and I don’t think it was eye make up ,because she has always worn that. I was passively watching the episode and it caught my attention abruptly. Also, I thought that it was SUPER lame to have the last song be God is a Woman by Ariana Grande. Again, so contrived to try show that they support women, etc. It was such a literal interpretation and I found it silly. Actions speak louder than words. Very much had PR all over it. I thought Malena’s reaction was.... not that of a mentally sound person who was devastated. It was way, way more than that. Red flag is an understatement. I could only picture her if her boyfriend dumped her and her begging and interrupting and shaking like that.

100% agree with you. Thank you for saying that!! I was going to and then was too lazy, saw your comment, and made myself sit up to type. It has to be about who the best and also who tries out in the first place, not about skin color. I also thought that they were maybe keeping Marlena so long because she was black- it crossed my mind more than once. I thought Marlena was missing some marbles. She didn’t seem the most mentally stable, and someone a few threads ago said she had crazy eyes, which I agree with.
  3. This was an intense episode. I felt stressed watching it. I found the pregnant Jen part sort of odd, not sure why. She is someone who I think was a fine dancer, but until I came here, I had no idea that she was a Jr. DCC and was so involved in the organization. I never thought she was pretty, so I will admit I glossed over her. I was surprised how she popped up in the stands and was forward with what she was saying to K and J. I really like Victoria, and I know that most of this board does not, but I cried during her cut scene. The same thing happens to me with mascara and crying, even if I wear waterproof. I liked that she just let loose and clearly wasn’t think about what she looked like. It found it curious that they didn’t get her a tissue, though. It was distracting and hard not to gasp at the black dripping all over the place. I loved how Kelli wiped her face for her. It was gentle and loving. I think that she did look heavy- there is no denying it. However, I think that a lot of people look very heavy this year. It doens’t really bother me in the sense of the weight, and I actually think it looks healthy and realistic. I personally am over the super thin standards, but that is just me. Maybe more young girls who look up to the DCC would be healthier, too. I do not understand that Tara cut. Poor thing. That was hard to watch. The look in her eyes was soul crushing. As I get older, I think it is important to give people a break when they are good to you, as you never know what is going on. If she was a great rookie and was working through something, why not give her the benefit of the doubt and give her some time. Maybe say she wouldn’t cheer in a few games until she was where they needed her to be. Why give her the chop so swiftly? I feel like they throw out the “come back next year” as a crutch. Isn’t it well known they don’t take people back who were cut? I was happy to see Meredith. I remember watching her when she first came on and thought she was really pretty and a good dancer, and I absolutely remember that note on her mirror! I still think she is, but as someone above said, she looked tired. Sounds like she has big fancy job- would love to know exactly what she does. The house she was filming in looked quite ornate. How does Amy afford to open up her own studio? A lot of these girls come from major money! I thought her segment was way too long. I think she is fine but nothing special. Hated the filler promo with that massage machine. We already saw that last year. We get it. They have it all!
  4. OMG!!!! Dying!! I remember that sooooo well!
  5. I thought that this episode was one of the better ones of the season, but I am still not that happy in general with the show anymore. I used to almost not be able to sleep the night before it aired LOL and now I waited a few days before I got around to watching it. It was hard for me to watch the part with Kelli shaming Madeline. It really was. I felt second hand embarrassment, and I have to wonder if there is more than meets with eye with why Kelli and Kitty don’t like her. It seems to have come from out of left field. Maybe it is legitimate, but to the average viewer, it looks very harsh and mean. Reminds me of when they canned Hannah and she was shocked. I hated seeing Madeline grovel and go along with whatever Kelli said just to assuage her. I hate how Judy gets frustrated about the lines on the field. I think she does not do a good job of teaching if there are so many mistakes that are the same each year. At some point, as a teacher, you have to wonder if it is something you are doing wrong. She needs to chill on those reactions. Her frustrations are not warranted, in my opinion. If it is hard, you have to expect mistakes, especially on the first night. I know that dance is different than the real world of teaching, but I think that people perform better when they feel the teacher is kind and understanding. Not a pushover, but just not a mean old hag yelling at them when they already know they are not getting it right. Liked Ashley a lot- she seemed nice and reasonable. I know this is unpopular, but I 100% agree with Victoria and what she was saying about Jinelle not having a weight problem. I actually thought it was bold of her to be so honest, when all we see are the “yes ma’am” robotic responses. I have always been bigger than my peers. Tall at a young age, and bigger boned. I would not and have not felt that someone who is so polar opposite of me and how I looked could have helped me. Maybe it is not rational or even reasonable, but there is a lot of emotionalism involved in weight, and there is just no way I would want someone that looks like Jinelle helping me. If you have not always been tall and a bit bigger than other girls, you may not understand or relate. As far as the metoo movement, I can say that I actually do understand how she may not know- her mind went blank. The other day at work someone asked me if I knew someone and said my brother’s name and I said no! I was thinking she meant someone at work, and I literally said I did not know my own brother! When you are tired, exhausted, drained, and edgy, your mind does not always pull through for you. I am sure she remembered later on. Lastly, I do think that it is time for DCC to not have the girls be so thin. It would be such a nice change, and really help all women out. The pressure to be thin is crushing no matter what. Talk about using a platform for good!
  6. I 100% agree with you on what you posted, and I am glad you had the honesty to say it. I have strayed from saying much because I feel that this board has turned into anit-VK/pro Dayton. Everyone here is bashing Victoria’s stomach, but I truly thought that Dayton’s looked big as well. Her stomach was puffy and hanging over the shorts as well. I also was shocked with how poorly she was not facing the mirror. She didn’t know the dance at all. As you said, it is way better to make mistakes than have your head turned the other way, unsure the whole time and several counts behind trying to play catch up.
  7. I was getting ready to post the same thing. I can’t believe Kelli would co-sign these god-awful photos! They are shockingly horrific. I actually feel bad for the girls. I would be aghast if that was my photo for the entire year and had to sign it at events? It is not just that they look bad and old, but they don’t even look like themselves. They all look so witchy, too! And the heavy blush- what in the world??? Kelli and Judy have slipped up and can’t recover from this. I think someone needs to speak up and offer a re-do out of good faith. It seems like an April Fools Day prank.
  8. I think he is an idiot, too! I fast forward through him, no matter what. I find him dim and pointless.
  9. Love the comment, and had to LOL about the crazy eyes-saw this straight away! Also, Molly is from Danville, CA which I is extremely affluent. These girls are from money.
  10. Oh, yeah, you are so right! I jumped ahead :) Opps!
  11. This episode was different than past ones, so that was nice. Jinelle was someone I did not like initially, based on her looks. However, she truly developed into a pretty woman and I did tear up with her scenes. She seemed very kind and thoughtful, and sincere. Jenna, on the other hand, was the opposite for me. Initially I did liked her and thought she was so cute and perky. I feel that she actually never did develop into a woman, neither physically or mentally, and I did not like her at the end. Funny how things can change! I also thought her boobs did not look good in the uniform in some scenes- too big. I think she looks like a girl playing dress up. Not a fan and wish she would truly move on, rather than just say it. I am going to say an unpopular thing, but I just don’t understand the deep love that people are having toward Dayton. If she weren’t from Shelly, who has positioned herself on this board (I know some really like it, which I understand) I just don’t think that people would fawn over her like they do. She would just be another girl trying out for the second time. I feel like people are going on way too much about her in a way that is not in proportion to what we have even seen of her, which has been limited. I do think she is pretty, I liked her costume, but I think she comes across as having a very dull personality and doesn’t move her face much when she talks or dances. She looks very still and flat to me, and is definitely not bubbly. Not sure about Meredith anymore. I had to laugh when Charlotte lowered her eyes at the guy who commented on not liking Victoria. I watched that part twice- it was like something out of a Disney villian character! Kelly was sitting there with a horrified, shocked face. She looked like she had no chin the way her face was positioned in horror! I cannot stand Brenda. I have never liked her, but as the years have gone on, she was really become such a mean, mean person. She is overly critical and seems to have outright contempt for these girls. I don’t understand it. I think that the girl who someone above said looks like Janelle from Teen Mom and Casey Anthony (huge yes to both! That made me LOL) is the one who was shown in the salon with bright orange hair and Kelli asking if it was the final project. No vets not picked and left in their seats, which was a first in a long time, I think. Can’t wait for next week, as always. I hope they show more of the solos, or had them posted in full on the website.
  12. I can’t stop starring at Brennan’s crossed-eyes. Her eyes cross constantly. It is very, very distracting. However, after rewatching this episode, I have come to the conclusion that it may be a medical condition that she can’t control. I have noticed it since her first appearance. I wonder if glasses or some other treatment can help correct it. I don’t know anything about eyes, but I would think there must be some type of eye training that can be done.
