Tim must be really desperate (or being punished) if he’s living in that trailer. My camper is way smaller but I spend a lot of time in camping forums. The water supply for it comes from a hose that would freeze in the winter as it doesn’t look like it’s set up permanently. The toilet lines would also freeze and I wonder where he dumps his waste water to - did they crack open their septic tank and run the line to it? Plus, those trailers aren’t very insulated and he must have to sleep in his coat.

Maybe it’s the other way around. Maybe Derrick wanted to stay at Walmart and pursue a law degree (does Walmart cover tuition for employees?) but because a real 9-5 is not compatible with reality show filming, he had to quit and go to Central America. Neither Derrick nor Jill ever looked truly happy there but TLC got video of “real” Christian missionaries baking banana bread and talking about how scary it was. And once he quit Walmart, he couldn’t go back. I can’t judge - if someone offered me a good sum of cash for a reality show (and of I was younger with less life experience, it might seem like an easy way to set myself up with cash. Unfortunately, reality tv has never left anyone unscarred no matter how successful they seem.

I was working at a super boring engineering firm in college where I was the youngest person by 20 years. I used to spend all day with headphones and Passions was broadcast on some radio station. I NEVER was able to see it but I listened to it for years! Fast forward 10 years and when we bought our first house, the Hispanic housekeeper from Passions was my neighbor. I recognized her by her voice when she said hello to us. She thought I was crazy.

This camp would be my nightmare in so many ways but I can see why the tweens and teens would love it. The kids seem to have some semblance of freedom to socialize and there was a good number of them there. I wonder how many marriages have come out of these family camps.

Spending $2k or even $8k like Kyle at a boutique of that caliber doesn’t get you a personal invite from Domenico (was it Dolce or Gabbana?) and a private salon to do your shopping. Sutton’s AmEx bill probably makes Dorit’s (supposed) $30k look like an amateur.

I think it’s funny that Ivy is always shown with Sophie the giraffe who is named after St. Madeline Sophie, Catholic saint and founder of the Sacred Heart. If I was a petty social media person, I would hashtag #wearesacredheart on her post so she would show up among so many evil, strong, independent Catholic women of Sacred Heart education.

Whats going on with them? Sometimes I snoop on her IG when she’s mentioned here but I just find her boring and sanctimonious. Her husband creeps me out a bit bough.

Their past and their beliefs tell me this IS blanket training. A stylish blanket, cute clothes, and tacky bow just makes it look more normal. Those poor kids.

He deals with an addiction with alcohol, he gets through a medical crisis (was it a car accident?), and instead of feeling blessed and joyful, he feels he has to beat sin out of his 4 year old child? I think her puny little brain thought a picture like that would be funny and staged it. The milk is in mid-pour. It takes a couple of seconds to grab or pull out your phone and get the camera up. The kid isn’t even looking at her startled like any normal kid would do if you called out their name with urgency. She probably has 20 pictures of him from the first poured drop to this one. BTW, I am a mom of 4 boys, I get it, they can be horrors. But to get that picture, you’ve stood there while half that gallon spills.

I think Camille tried to bring things to the front and while I get why the women hated her for it, as a viewer, I wanted her to spill all of it. You chose to be on a reality show, too bad, you signed your privacy away.

I shop at Aldi. We are a family of 6. Her cart is barely enough for 2 weeks for us and I make normal meals plus usually (not now, obviously) the 3 oldest boys eat lunch at school. She must be planning on shopping at Aldi every week and social distancing be damned! Based on my experience, that cart tells me they don’t feed their kids very much at all.

Neither Jessa nor Ben follow Jessica on social media. Give Jessa some $$$ and TV time and she can pretend to be close to her SIL. Older generations might not think it’s a big deal (I’m including myself), but for their age and Jessa’s visibility, that’s a huge snub to Jessica. Other Duggars follow her and Jessica follows them but Jessa righteously expresses her milenial disapproval. So many modesty rules but will whore herself out for a paycheck.

I “borrowed” a couple ebooks from the library today. For anyone that might have privileges at a university, you can often borrow Ebooks from their library and their selection of popular books is sometimes better since the audience is smaller.

It’s really not a crazy idea for the government to pay people or businesses for honest work in a time of crisis. We camp a lot here in Florida and many of the parks have trails and structures that were built in the 30s by the Civilian Conservation Corps that employed young men. They were paid plus a certain amount was sent back to their families. I think your idea is a better idea than Romney’s $1000 per adult that would be nice, for sure, but I still have a job and don’t need it now. There are so many more people that will need it when businesses go under and many of them would be happy to have a job that pays them. I think the bureaucracy from both sides of the aisle has destroyed any ability of government to be nimble or smart.
