  1. I know on Talking Dead they talked about how Termites (is that what we are calling them?)
  2. I allow myself 1 soap opera per year, and Nashville is it. Plus, the songs are great.
  3. "Bad News" is one of the great episodes that made HIMYM into more than just a sitcom. That last scene was especially impressive:
  4. What I think season 2 will reveal: Whether the blahness of the first 2/3 of the first season was due to the fact the show runners had their hands tied, or whether their handling of the characters in those first 15 episodes is what they think the show should be like.
  5. I'd have thought they'd submit the Mother-centric episode as that was the best one of the entire. year.
  6. I kept looking for Abigail's missing ear, but it seemed like she had both of them? Pretty sure they DNA tested the ear Will threw up and confirmed it was hers.
  7. My reaction: Holy shit! Holy shit! Holy shit! Hannibal! Holyyyyyyyyyy shiiiiiiiiiiit!!!!!!!!!!! Ahem.
  8. So what was that meal at the beginning of the episode? A songbird?
  9. I think a lot of us thought that those "original" characters we saw was backtracking on a lot of character development we saw over the last 4-5 seasons. That's why people were mad the show spent a season on a wedding that turned out to be pretty meaningless because the characters just reverted to what they were years ago in a few short scenes.
  10. I wasn't pointing that out to explain why Chilton ran (most anyone would). More that why would a meticulous and intelligent killer like the Chesapeake Ripper (as Chilton is assumed to be) suddenly be so messy and chaotic?
  11. I am hopeful for the new movies, but I think nothing will ever really approach the original trilogy. There was something magical about that cast and the special effects and the music...
  12. By Will's hitman, you mean the orderly? This may be a spoiler, but I read somewhere (AV Club Walkthrough?) that .
  13. And why would he kill them like that and flee? Not very good at avoiding detection with blood everywhere like that.
  14. Yes, I had forgotten that in season 1. But I am with aquarian1 on the fact that it was Hannibal and the encephalitis that caused Will's breakdown, not Jack pushing him.
  15. I love the AV Club's Walkthrough series. Lots of insight into the show and how they are building that world.
  16. I hope they give her more to do besides be all righteous and wrong all the time. Has she been right about anything yet?
  17. I don't agree with you but I like your style.
  18. Why did you like it? Were you on the Robin/Ted team?
  19. I think my main problem is that until Spike we were never shown that vamps had this capability. Which is why everyone assumed (until told after the fact) that Spike was trying to get the chip out, not get a soul. To many of us, it seemed like they were rewriting the rules of the universe to get Spike and Buffy into a more conventional romance/relationship. I dislike being told how special a character is, rather than letting me reach that conclusion on my own. I really enjoyed Spike, until season 7 when this change happened. Because that's when the change happened - I've read quotes from Buffy writers and producers that they meant to fake the audience out on the chip/soul thing. Except they weren't faking us out at all, they were merely continuing with the rules of the universe they had fleshed out over six seasons. Only ex post facto was "he got his soul back for Buffy" idea even considered possible. It wasn't a fake out, it was a line of bullshit. That's why I soured on Spike at the end. Thankfully, there was far less Buffy-motivation when he popped up on Angel. Then he was back to being awesome.
  20. There are a few brave souls on reddit and other places that have defended the ending and said they enjoyed it. Anyone on here like that? For me, most of what happened in the finale wasn't exactly wrong, just handled badly (with the exception of Barney's character, they screwed up terribly there and no adjustment was going to fix it). The tone and pacing was all off to get most of the audience to buy in. Just curious if anyone wants to explain why they liked it. Oh, and were you in the Ted/Robin camp going into the finale?
  21. So what does that make the Slayer? If vampires can be redeemed, should she not kill them until they can ascertain their level of humanity?
  22. I had the same reaction. A vampire wants their soul back? That made no sense in the universe of the show. If vampires can choose redemption and a soul rather than it being forced upon them, doesn't that make the Slayer a murderer? She often kills vamps before they can do anything as soon as they pop out of the grave.
  23. Back on the EHG podcast (#23 I believe), Dave said he found Will boring and not a good enough protagonist to go up against Hannibal. That if Will wasn't such a goody two-shoes and was willing to go beyond the rules that would make him more compelling. Well, that's exactly where Will is now! He seems much more formidable and dangerous. I can only imagine what he will do when he gets out.
