  1. Hunky Dory - The Man Who Sold The World (I really like the song choices in this movie)
  2. Why! The insistence in clinging to Arnold when he's the least interesting aspect baffles me. There was interesting things to explore about John and his Daddy issues in T2 but taking it beyond that is so forced. His end should have been T2. The Sarah Connor Chronicles showed there was a ton of story to tell without relying on Arnold's Terminator. I'd rather see a Terminator like manipulative Cameron or anti-Skynet Shirley Mason in particular. Do we really need Arnold making lame quips again? He's gone from scary to comic relief, and it doesn't help the franchise to make him a focal point. I was so happy to find out that James Cameron was at the helm again but this news makes me concerned.
  3. Pauline's actions were pretty horrible. I was hoping to find that Maddy may have been misdiagnosed but in the end, Pauline ignored the doctor's allergy diagnosis and insisted her daughter had to have the more severe immune deficiency out of grief and selfishness. Her actions actually put her daughter at risk from common illnesses because Maddy wasn't exposed to common viruses and bacteria like most children are which would have strengthened her immune system as she developed leading her to reach adulthood with a weaker immune system like an infant. She can go out in the world and never had to remain indoors and away from people 24/7 but she will get sick more easily and with more risk because her mother isolated her her whole life. So her mother created the danger that would latch her child to her as long as Maddy was ignorant of the truth. What a lonely prison the mother made for her child just to keep her close out of fear after losing her son. I appreciated the part at the end where Maddy tried to see the situation from her mother's pov but just couldn't forgive her. I came away believing the mother was a disturbed person in need of therapy. She essentially used a fake illness diagnosis to keep her child a hostage. Falling in love with Olly essentially lead Maddy on the path to saving herself. It wasn't just about being with him but her desire to experience life rather than to continue observing. Getting the guy wasn't to goal but leading an independent life was. I really liked it. There was more to the story than I had anticipated. Edited to add: It just occurred to me that this movie is a modern take on Rapunzel.
  4. Pauline from Everything, Everything was just a real piece of work
  5. Analysis of the editing in Suicide Squad I wanted to recommend Chez Lindsay's youtube page. She's done a ton of analysis of various movies and film topics. She's currently in the middle of an analysis of the Transformers franchise.
  6. Rent is very much a period piece that is very married to a particular time and place. I love the music of Rent but there are some issues with the story itself that need some work. I'd love to see a love adaptation that corrects some of the flaws.

    The Star Wars Saga

Is that an Indiana Jones reference? Lol
  8. Before Sunset "I saw something nasty in the woodshed."
  9. I love Maurice. The boat house ending is just so lovely and sexy. Speaking of Rupert Graves. He's also in a great movie called Different for Girls about a man reunited with his high school best friend who has transitioned into a woman. He's thrown by his attraction to the woman his buddy has become. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMUtd_pchHY
  10. Lucy "She's a lot like drowning, quite pleasant once you stop struggling."
  11. The quad of Kish with Christian and Layla were so wonderful on OLTL. Loved both romances and the friendships. I'm still angry the writers ruined it. I was pro Chad/Gabi but at this point the writers seem to be getting away from that. I do think the new Abby is a major improvement so I don't necessarily mind a Chad/Abby end game. I like that Abby gets called on her crap and the new actress doesn't have that obnoxiously smug and entitled vibe the previous actress gave off. I wonder if the writers have made up their minds at all cause this has turned from a triangle (Gabi/Chad/Abby) into a freaking pentagon with Eli and Dario now in the mix.
  12. The Hunger Games: Mocking Jay 2 "Love means never having to say you're sorry." "That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard."
  13. I double checked and you're right. I remembered it wrong. Sorry guys.
  14. Hint: It's from a sequel staring Chloe Grace Moretz
  15. No, please keep guessing "Batman wishes he was me."
  16. Some Like It Hot "She can't dance. She can't sing. She can't act. A triple threat."
  17. Moulin Rouge "You're unhappy because that can never happen again and I'm happy because it's happened once."
  18. Attack The Block "Nobody makes me bleed my own blood."
