  1. Can someone please explain to me why the sketchbook is so important/dangerous? And where IS Gaia? I have excused the show a lot over the years, but tonight was just ridiculous. I can’t help but feel that everything having to do with Bellamy was born out of behind the scenes drama. He had no point this season - what did it matter that he was converted? The storyline would be the same without this, and all it did was shit on one of the main characters of the show at the last minute and give him a weak and unnecessary death without even a goodbye from anyone. Clarke could have just shot him in the arm or the leg. She didn’t have to kill him and she wound up leaving the notebook behind with the last disciple anyway. What was the point of any of it? again, I have excused a lot from the show. But this made no sense and was incredibly dissatisfying.
  2. I'm not a fan of "American Pie," but the more I think about it, the more I like how it worked. Besides the creator's comments on how Mitch was Zoey's music, I think the song was an appropriate combination of Howie's thoughts about death (and also how funerals are in general) - at its core it's about sadness and death, but there's this veneer of optimism to it as well - it straddles the line between being a sad song and an upbeat song, and I feel that fits the show so well. This show NEEDS to come back.
  3. This was such a great Emma episode. Olivia Cooke really nailed the myriad of emotions Emma went through, all culminating in that last scene where she walked in so angry and then I feel like she was confronted with what she didn't want to admit - that she still cared for Norman and that he wasn't responsible - "Mother" is (although I don't think she realizes this is the persona which controls him). It's something that, going into the finale, I am most worried about the future of Dylan and Emma. I really want them to come out of this intact, but I don't know how they can. They have become the little bubble of happiness on this show, and I don't want it popped. There has to be some optimism at the end of this series, right? And can I just say that the acting on this show is of course amazing, but I think Max Theriot is really the unsung hero of this show? He does not get enough recognition. This is why I love this show. I hate Mother!Norman, who truly is responsible for everything. Yes, the body is the same but this is the horror of mental illness. Even though Actual!Norman is the one who killed Sam, you know he was corrupted and decayed over time by the Dissociative Identity Disorder and it's not really him, it's the disease. I want him to pay for all he's done, but at the same time you know the best thing for him would be a ton of psychiatric help and drugs. Seriously not ready for this show to end.
  4. Much like Negan's wives, it seems Sasha wanted the weapon not to off herself but to turn on Negan. Alas, hard to do with a pill.
  5. Such a fun episode. Tyler Hoechlin was perfect as Clark/Superman. He balanced all the different layers of both personas and made me smile like Cat Grant while doing so. (PS that whole other side of Cat Grant was hysterical and refreshing. I am so glad Flockhart is sticking around). I do agree that the dissolution of the Kara/Jimmy 'ship seemed sudden and out of nowhere. I'm guessing they didn't want to weigh down this season with the main character being in a relationship (or it's leaving the door open for her to be in a relationship with Chris Wood when he comes out of his coma). So happy the show is back, and thankful the CW rescued it. Huh. Funny that this didn't occur to me - maybe because I forgot and wasn't looking out for it. Certain sets didn't seem different to me, but the outdoor scenes didn't strike me as noticeably different. Also, where's Maxwell Lord? He is back this season, right?
  6. Paul had an immensely better final speech. I am bitter that he lost. He definitely played the better game. Davonne - typical. Promising, but ultimately a total flop.
  7. When the lawyer kissed Naz, I threw my hands in the air and cried "What show am I watching?" It just felt out of place. Then again, I think she's a poor lawyer (as is the DA) as no one seems to ever want to object to anything (when they finally did, of course it was pointless and overruled). That's exactly it. I think so much of this show is great, but on the other hand, so much feels fast forwarded. I feel like there is an episode missing somehow because we got to the trial so fast and the investigation seems short changed. And I feel like Naz's transformation also feels fast forwarded as well. I want the gaps filled in, because so much of what seems sped up also feels inauthentic, and that is really hurting the show for me. I'm hoping the finale will be brilliant and I'm glad to hear it's extra long because I think there's a lot that needs to be covered to be satisfying. I just wish there was less of the prison storyline and more of the storyline that actually relates to The Night Of.
  8. I feel like I am one of the biggest supporters of this show: Fear the Walking Dead filled in the gaps of the Walking Dead - I was always more interested in the fall of society than what society looks like after. And, for a while, that was what we got. But somewhere along the way it felt sped up and this feels more like a parallel series than a prequel, and that's a bit unfortunate. And this episode had me bored like no other episode of the series thus far. I paused it countless times to check my email, or read Facebook. And I love Nick - I think he's the most fascinating character but I don't think they did much new or interesting in this episode. Yes, it was cool to see someone blend in with the dead and have an interest in them, but I feel like we already hit that note with him and it's to a degree that it feels forced - not sure I buy that he would be so far down this path that he would abandon his family, but oh well. I'm hoping this was just a rocky start and we can get back to (what I consider) some good TV.
  9. At this point I am most interested to see how it all ties back to the Brandon James situation. I would sort of love it in a twisted way if the accomplice was Maggie and the killer was Kieran. After all, when the killer went to Emma's house in this episode, he did check in on Maggie first. (Which made me think it maybe WASN'T Kieran because it made it seem like he didn't know his way around the house - but with this out there theory, that could work).
  10. The only thing I can think of was Haley's death last week. As she was getting killed he was shown walking around the dance floor. Could be a trick of the editing, but he seemed to have an alibi for that (although Haley did seem gleeful to Emma about her secret boyfriend, so who knows?)
  11. So this episode increased my suspicion that Kieran is the killer tenfold, and I am hoping that the show is not that obvious (but - who am I kidding - it probably is). Kieran is the one who found the letters in Eli's room - obviously could have planted them. Kieran overheard Eli and his mom talking about scamming the Mayor so he obviously could have texted him and scheduled the meet up. Kieran was the one who called into the police that Audrey and Emma were at the farm, which got them framed. This is why the show is difficult - with 12 episodes it's either going to be a killer out of nowhere with nothing to back it up, or something that viewers picked up over time and it's obvious (see: Piper Season 1, and probably Kieran Season 2). At this point I am just hoping Kieran has an accomplice that comes out of nowhere so there is some element of surprise. Otherwise, OK episode. I liked Stavos' speech to Noah, and I liked Ms. Lang's moment of insight to the Sheriff re: Stavos. Some nice character touches, both of which make Stavos more fully detailed and less suspicious. Of course, Stavos is the one who convinced Noah to restart the Morgue which was necessary for the video to be uploaded. Speaking of: in the video, isn't Emma reading her dream journal out loud? How is that possible unless Emma is in on it? Or am I misremembering?
  12. I'm thinking Brooke is the killer. Last episode, she purposely moved one of the girls to position herself in the middle/in the line of (blood) fire. That was suspicious to me, and like someone else said, she's really been pushed to the forefront this season. Good episode, but there were definitely moments that made me raise my eyebrows on a few people. Like Emma's mom getting kicked off the case - her reaction makes me suspect her as well.
