  1. Sigh. I wanted to like this one, but TBH it was a slog to get through to the end. I loved the young and diverse cast & I love Kim Cattrall, but this ... was not it. This show could have been all kinds of awesome but alas: the stakes weren't high enough - I never once felt that Kim (sorry, Madelyn or whatever her character's name was) was in danger or losing "the company"... and also the show went on and on telling us that Madelyn was the shit in the business but never really showed us. WHY was her product line so iconic? Like they could've have given her some signature product .... you know her version of Viva Glam or Clinique Dramatically Different moisturiser. Something. Chirpy ruthless corporate girl was just annoying, but not in a "fun Paris Gellar" type of way, but just in the "regular get on my nerves & shut up and go away" type of way The characterisations were all over the place - one example: what was the name of the 1st Assistant with the pretty hair - one minute she's ride or die for Kim and the next she's giving away company trade secrets??? Also also, why was 1st Assistant shamed for looking for another job? She hadn't gotten a promotion and the "the company" was undergoing changes - why was it so wrong to interview with Revlon where she had a shot at a real, non-assistant job? That kind of shitty Boomer attitude about blind loyalty to a job needs to die. But then, of course, never mind because of her amazing SKILLZ and heartfelt confession she gets hired back instead of blackballed from the industry. The love triangle was lame - and I love a good love triangle. The office guy was so clearly superior to Uber boy ... and honestly, I didn't think Uber boy was all that hot. shrug. Agree with other posters that it gave "Emily in Paris" but at least with EIP you get PARIS - actual beautiful scenes of the city. I think this whole show was mostly shot on sound stages and it shows. Where was the NYC eye candy? And the set for the office was ugly as sin. C'mon, where was the real estate porn? It's a shame. Wonder if it will get a 2nd season.
  2. Judging by the comments, it just goes to show how subjective fashion is. I thought to myself "Nigel's is the ugliest collection, so he will win." Damned if I wasn't proved right. While I will give him that his pieces were well constructed and the collection was cohesive, I found most of the clothing stuff I would throw back in the bin if I was out thrifting. Just no - so not my thing. Deontre's collection was just meh to me, although more fun than Nigel's - the royal blue suit and crop top were "fire" as the kids say and I liked the silver pants. He overdoes the puffer thing but Nigel and his patchwork thing is overdone IMO so whatever. I actually preferred Bao's collection. I like fashion that looks pretty and glamorous, so sue me. I thought the silver dress was beautifully made and the jump suit was cool and sexy. I do think the right people made it to the finale. I prefer Gigi to the other one from S1 (don't even remember her name) - i too think they need a Michael Kors/designer type as a judge. Stylists are fine, I guess, but they're not designers and it would have been fun to get some feed back from an actual designer. I do like that the designers all seem like nice people and we don't have a lot of people acting like assholes or being all "I'm not here to make friends." I do wish we could minimise some of the "gimmicky" stuff like using weeds or having impossible time limits and focus on the clothes and fashion but I guess that wouldn't make for good TV. Tan's pink gloves looked dumb af.
  3. Bao was robbed. Both dresses and the transformation -- beautiful.
  4. Honestly, I hate Megan's aesthetic and was not sad to see her go. I found her portfolio shots looked more interesting and "fun" than any of the stuff she put on the runway. Just hideous. MMV and all that but I tried to like some of her stuff because she seems like a lovely young lady, or appreciate it in a "I would never wear that but I see why others would like it" way, but man, she made it hard. I, too, hate that they have these impossible challenges with the unreasonable time constraints. Just give them a day, WTF. That's my pet peeve with reality competition shows. I get they need some way to up the pressure and the stakes but it goes too far and this was a good example. None of the looks were really that great and it was because no one had time to do something great.
  5. Ok, some thoughts because I feel personally invested in some of these decades: Amari's sweet and all, but WTF? Terrible. As a 60s baby, I am offended & yea, I admit I did not immediately catch the poor taste in recreating Jackie's pink suit (brain fart for sure) but putting that awfulness aside - that fit was horrendous on a woman who had a perfectly lovely figure. Did she get the wrong measurements for her model or is she just really bad, because that outfit looked like shit. Especially disappointing because, as others have noted, Jackie had a lot of other iconic looks in the 60s and FFS, it was the 60s... there's gotta be tons of other cool things to reference. The 70s outfit (is that Nigel???) was very cool, but I am sorry, it was kind of boring? It was colourful and well made, I will give him that, but it wasn't really "new" or "forward." It's always the same silhouette with that guy and I get that's his thing but mix it up! The 50s model was handsome, but that outfit did him no favours and it wasn't really special. maybe too literal? Maybe too much pink? I do not know, I am not a FASHUN person but that did not pop like it should. Disappointing. 90s - meh. I was a cool young woman in the 90s and had the body to wear cool things and that ... was not it. Again, there was so many references in the 90s that could have inspired something interesting for today (um baby doll dresses? Grunge? West Coast hip hop ...?) 80s - I was a teenager and if I ever was on top of FASHUN trends that was the time and I gotta say... Bao did kind of nail the 80s over the top, hyper glam look. My only complaint was that it was a little TOO revealing with the cut outs too near the coochie, but I think she did that to "update" it to now. In which case, I would say it would not really work as a prom dress (either in the 80s or now) but for clubbing in the 80s, it definitely was there. The make up was great (I remember spending HOURS getting the perfect red glossy lip and smoky all the way to my temple eye make up)... I shudder to think of the time I spent on putting myself together in the 80s. Good grief. LOL. Overall, I do like Bao's aesthetic... Her J.LO birthday dress was great. Obviously only a woman with a certain body can wear her stuff well (or maybe I should say a woman who has a certain level of body confidence) but I think for the most part her designs do look more sleek than trashy, which is weird because I usually hate the whole cut out thing / skin skin skin thing. HOWEVER, she, like Nigel, needs to mix it up a bit because I see the same thing from her again and again and again. On a superficial note, I want Bao to change her hair color, that strawberry blonde look on her is ghastly - I know she is going for striking but a cooler, whiter blonde would look so much better on her , IMHO.
  6. This part. Those 2 had a chance after Emily kissed him the first time - she should've told Camille right then and there that "Oh, shit! I just totally kissed your boyfriend - he wasn't expecting it, I didn't know he had a girlfriend - so so so sorry!" After that, it got shittier and shittier. And hooking up 2 minutes after they broke up ain't going to help. Sigh. I sure did like Gabriel at first. Oh, and Emily? Maybe start asking some questions before you undress - like how old are you? are you married/in a relationship? stuff like that... Other comments - Mindy needs to ease up just a bit on the "sassy minority side kick" routine ... she's creeping up on Awkwafina territory with the "get it, girl!" and "ok, bitches!" Like, we get it, she's SASSSY! Are we to believe NONE of Mindy's rich as fuck friends don't have an apartment in Paris for her to crash at? Or they can't loan her money - or she doesn't have some money tucked away? I get she was cut off but "broke" by a rich person's standards ain't like "regular" broke. I get she's crashing with Emily for reasons but it's still odd. Did she not have any other friends in Paris before she met Emily? I thought Mr. Couture Nephew is a snooze. They have no chemistry and his interest in her came out of nowhere. At least with Gabriel and Antoine you can see where they would be charmed by her. Mrs. Antoine giving her the green light to be Mr. Antoine's side piece is ... well, weird to me but I guess very French. Ooo la la. Wonder if she was sick of Sylvie holding that position? I call bullshit on traipsing around Paris in stilettos, cobblestones, people! You see alot of stylish flats, block heels and wedges for that very reason when you visit. This was fun and a nice romp in troubled times tho so I'm in for season 2!
  7. That's me. I only rewatched all 4 seasons the past year due to the pandemic, but it was a slog after season 2. To be sure, they could've ended it at the Season 3 finale (minus stupid David coming back) and it would've been a nice ending. Season 4 was just a waste of time IMHO (although I did once in awhile enjoy Louise but generally, I could've done without "Poppet").
  8. Good point @Goshengir1 what a scum bag... he's all about being the "man" of the family but not enough to work like one, loser. We never really heard much about what he actually did at LulaRoe other than pontificate and liken himself to John Smith, right? Interesting discussion @CSunshine76 regarding the vileness of those 2 and the gullibility of the women themselves. Watching the documentary, there were times that the former consultants would talk about their experiences and I was like, WTH? And you didn't leave then??? But then I also can see how, as @Jeeves pointed out, it IS like boiling a live frog and I can see how people would be sucked into it... seeing all this happiness, money, sisterhood and rah rah rah if you're feeling exhausted and beaten down by life ... yea I can see how someone would get sucked in. That's what makes it so insidious and evil because people like the Stidhams are predators and they prey on people's vulnerabilities, insecurities & stressors (financial, physical, emotional) and make money off of it. Disgusting human beings, as all cult leaders are...
  9. Thanks for this @Trini Good read. So... *we get confirmation that ABC really ruined the show by pressuring for all those episodes and ramping up the stupid soapiness (more OTT drama, less red sharpie revenge goodness) *I can see why EVC was so exhausted at the end that role was crazy physical ... and alot of it she did in high heels!!! *I really wish they had not pushed Mike Kelley out. Season 1, especially the first half, was so good ... you can see why he wanted only 15 episodes a season. *interesting comments regarding the show in hindsight of BLM ... I will comment that this is the one time that I think the cast being virtually all white was probably more accurate to real life, as depressing as that is. The Graysons were supposed to be the 1% of the 1% and running a prestigious Wall Street firm and I think they implied that they were Republicans (pre-TFG Republicans) ... it does not get any whiter than that world and people like that ensure that their environment stays blindingly white and that the only POC are either the Help (Ashley) or on the periphery (but in a service role - see, e.g., Daniel's criminal lawyer and Conrad's divorce attorney). You even had Conrad call Ashley "exotic" when he set her up with that South American investor in season 2... while cringeworthy and offensive, that is exactly how a rich and privileged white guy would talk about a beautiful WOC. But it is interesting to wonder how they would have cast it today, for example, would Nolan Ross been a POC in addition to being bisexual?
  10. ITA... that was one of the highlights of a pretty crappy season.
  11. THIS!!! This plot "twist" was even worse than the "Initiative" crap. And the reason why - he was held captive by EVUL MALCOLM BLACK for 10 years was so cringeworthy. Plus they made him come back weird and whispery and he messed with Nolan. Ugh. And that he got back with Victoria was so gross (yea he was going to kill her but not really). No p*ssy is that good, not even Victoria's golden vajayjay. If they had to do season 4, I would have rather had them explore Emily's coming to grips with having completed her "mission" (taking down the Graysons) and facing how screwed up she really was and felt ... Like, keep Victoria in the snake pit and have Conrad suffer in prison and Daniel be a tortured soul* and have Nolan and Jack try to pull her back... *Daniel Season 4 was so interesting and I loved the dynamic between the two of them. Their love/hate relationship was so entertaining!
  12. First off, glad they ditched the Heidi and Tim shenanigans this time - they were beyond annoying. Also glad they ditched Heidi screeching about ONE MILLION DOLLARS every damn episode. Agree with others that the whole "have you changed your mind" is not suspenseful at all ... it's boring. I would rather they mix it up a bit and POW! send 2 people home or do unexpected stuff at judging like NO ONE wins because all the clothes suck... stuff like that. Also also agree with ditching the music. Too loud and distracting. I actually miss Naomi Campbell and I don't mind having veteran models judging fashion. Naomi is an OG and when she said things like "respect has to be paid to the couture" it cracked me up. Plus, she's been in the business for 30+ years, as has Heidi, and I'd argue that they know FAHSHION as well as other professionals (e.g. editors, other designers) - being dressed and photographed and doing runway work for years will certainly give you experience in being able to judge what works and what doesn't. Although yes I do agree that saying "I'd wear that" is not necessarily a substantive critique. Jeremy makes my eyes roll so far back in my head with his pretentious sunglass inside wearing - and Moschino ... Im not fashionista but aren't those clothes tacky af? Not really impressed with him... meh. Did the designers choose their models? Wondering because Andrea is the only one with the plus size model... obviously it's been to her benefit because Tim and the judges are just AMAZED she can actually make clothes look nice on someone *gasp* *whisper* CURVY *eek** She must be a wizard (another eye roll). Can they send Mr. Joshua "for my kid/love hero is a stupid brand name" home, already? I did like his resort robe (I'd wear it, hee) but man is he annoying. As is Olivia.
  13. I want to try and revive this thread a bit as I love Revenge (at least S1)... I rediscovered it during the lockdowns and got lost in the soap opera and over the top ninja/superhero qualities of Emily Thorne ... not to mention the clothes. But NO ONE i know has watched it LOL. Pity there is no reunion but in a way it makes sense. Unless they had Nolan or Emily acting in the Takeda role running a revenge camp or something, I don't see a reunion being very compelling other than finding out how everyone ended up. UO but I loved Emily - both the actor and the character ... I loved her whispering and her eyes narrowing and her IDGAF attitude. I loved, for example, when Taylor was messing with her and Daniel and unlike every other soap opera when Daniel bailed on her dinner and accused her of cheating with Jack she was like "I made that dinner for you, dumbass" and also when she called out Taylor for being a liar at the double date. Also loved her giving advice to Daniel when he was in Riker's and how she gave her real name to Mason in order to stop Fauxmanda from tire ironing him and the WHM when he abducted Nolan. I liked when she pretended to break up with Adrian in front of Daniel and I loved it when she told Nolan "Do it and I'll buy you a house." A good times. I know Nolan had alot of great lines but I enjoyed the times when Emily Thorne got her zings in.
  14. Wow what a great binge watch - I would not have minded a few more episodes because the psychological pathologies on display are fascinating to me (although I of course felt sorry for all the women/people they have hurt) but good gravy. I'm with others who marvelled at the complete lack of fiscal responsibility with some of them ... like did they hire accountants? Save anything? Get financial planners? Going into massive debt makes me itch - I am not judging( it's the American way and it's bullshit) but spending everything as soon as it comes in would just freak me out too much. One thing I have to ask of fellow parents here, being childfree myself, if you were getting checks worth thousands every month wouldn't most of that go to paying down debt, keeping a roof over one's head or, Idk, saving up for your kid's COLLEGE EDUCATION??? When the woman (forget the name - the one who had the botched surgery and lost everything and eats crackers and cheese for dinner) talked about getting a $42K check in one month and went out and bought 2 giant ass SUVs ... I just was aghast - like, really???!!! Look, I get rewarding yourself with a nice handbag or nice pair of shoes but I kept thinking, man, if I had kids Id be terrified of not being able to provide for them and I can't imagine spending all that money without thinking about their (and mine) future??? I mean, I would be freaked out about spending like that, kids or not, but it just seems especially scary to do it when you have other mouths to feed. That family was awful. Jim and Tammy Faye (TM @nosedive:) sorry, I won't bother using their real names) are just... wow... the brassy hair and heavy makeup and tacky, tacky clothes. I agree with others that the one son is on something - he definitely looked drugged up at the depo, which is interesting because usually that's one of the first questions asked by the lawyer ("are you on any medication or have you ingested any alcohol or recreational drugs prior to this depo"... you want to make sure the deponent is not under the influence). Although i clearly could see this asshat lying ... Tammy Faye's little smirks and smug looks were driving me nuts along with Jim's condescending corporate word salad... And when Tammy Fay was super skinny she looked a bit like that dude from Twisted Sister. I also liked that the one journalist spoke about the blinding whiteness of LulaRoe and I noticed how glaring it was in the photos and in the scenes of their conventions. Also lol at Lashae Noping her way out of the cruise! The whole vibe is weird and creepy af and I am still thinking about it. I remember a work colleague back in the 00s sold me some Arbonne products and I actually really liked them, although they were too expensive, but I wonder if she made any real money off of it as she was not pushy about it at all. MLMs are sketchy af and I feel bad for all the vulnerable people that get sucked into them.
  15. Yes! ITA! When she said she would pamper Chrishell, i didn't realize she meant literally! She seemed down to earth and normal and not at all jealous of her sister, which was a nice change from these type of shows. I thought I saw a poster on here a few pages back which said that Brett went out on his own??? Maybe I missed that???
  16. Woo! what a ride. I binged watched all 3 seasons... and can now stop lurking on this page...Agree with others that this show is just the type of petty, fluffy bullshit we all need right now. Completely mindless entertainment... Mary - so far she's my favourite. Yea, she's got shit taste in men but she genuinely seems to be good at her job and is a good friend. Romain is an immature 25 y o man but he does seem to love her and to me, he's not hot enough to put up with his petulance and he also seems a bit dull. While his Davina hate is justified and entertaining, he comes off looking silly when he goes on his rants about her. She really got to him and just blanking her and rising above it would've been a better look. Chrishell -- I do think she was blindsided and as others have said I do not think she was that good of an actress. I admire her hustle and liked that she tried to do something charitable when selling these obscenely overpriced homes. Re her divorce and Justin's filing: unless you're running away from an abusive situation (a la Katie Holmes) what Justin did was shitty af. Via a phone call 45 minutes before the world knew? Via text???? that's stone cold. If i was the new girlfriend, I would watch my back... that's bordering on sociopathic. Maya -- the best thing about Maya is she manages to be the ultimate shit stirrer but also super diplomatic. The skill in which she can stir the pot and yet remain inoffensive is quite stunning, really. I mostly like her for that reason because it shows she has some savvy and brains that the other ladies don't have. Amanza -- Stop being late. Just stop it. In most professions, punctuality is a must, but especially where you're in the business of selling multimillion dollar houses to your clients. You can't expect people to part with millions when you waltz in a half hour late and make jokes about drying your hair out your car window. Not okay and not cute. That said, she does seem like a good friend. I don't know how much stagers and interior designers make but I almost feel like that maybe she should stick to that kind of work ... she seems to enjoy it... Heather -- huge side eye to her coded overreaction to Amanza in season 2 which frankly struck me as a microagression against the lone POC in the cast. Amanza is the "rudest" person she's ever met? She's so "aggressive"? She's "evil"? Bitch, you're best friend is fucking Christine! I saw nothing that Amanza did that was as bad as the shit Christine (and also Davina) pulled. Please. She should of just called her an Angry Black Lady and be done with it. So glad you finally you approve of Amanza. Also also, I enjoyed her getting so upset about Davina and Christine calling out her thirsty ass. Christine -- this trick. You're not honest, you're just an asshole. I do not find her beautiful at all. She's interesting to look at because she's so over the top. She's like a cross between a Russian hooker, a basic blow up doll and an anime character. As another poster said (sorry forgetting who) she is not as smart as she thinks she is and her game is tired. She attacks and humiliates someone and then the next day blames it on the drink and apologizes and then gets pissed when people don't automatically trust her again. Rinse, repeat. I thought Chrishell declining to go to her engagement party was fair and understandable but she's (Christine) is a typical narcissist so anything but full on butt kissing is not ok. I actually prefer watching Christine work because she does seem to know what she's doing and in that setting I think she shines. But most of the time I can't stand her. I kinda hope her husband is a jerk too (for his own sake) otherwise he's going to be bled dry both emotionally and financially and he seems like a nice guy. I did enjoy her wedding and while it is not my aesthetic in the least, i liked her dress (the veil was dumb however) and the snow. Also...I was disappointed that her and Karamo seemed to be buds because ... yea I thought he would have better taste than that. The bobbsey twins. Two dudes with small man syndrome who think being surrounded by glamazons make them attractive when really it makes them look pathetic and weird. Interesting they split up, wonder what went down there? Now ... ahem ... Davina. WTAF? Is it really the time to force the "2 sides issue" and why do you care so much? Even if you think Chrishell 100% is at fault, why tell her when she's obviously hurting and in pain? Talk about "evil" behaviour Heather. What a complete bitch. Even Jason looked disgusted at her and even "no conflict" Mary went off. I felt for Chrishell. She was an open wound and basically Davina threw salt water all over her. It's interesting we don't see or hear much about Davina's personal life. I wonder if it is because she doesn't have one outside the office or if she keeps it private just to make sure no one does to her what she constantly does to others. It was odd she kept pushing the "2 sides" bit so hard. Maybe desperation to stay on the show but like others have said, she's not an entertaining villain like Christine. She's just... bad... I wouldn't miss her. And also, Adnan is a creepy bully - wouldn't surprise me if his millions are earned via shady means. He's the type of guy who you need to be able to stand up to him (similar to what Christine did) ... Davina comes across as a nervous little nitwit and he rolls all over her. His house is UGLY and is in no way worth that much money ... what on earth would someone be paying for? A pool and a guesthouse? A/C? Plus it looks like it was decorated by a unicorn high on meth. No thanks. I wish there was more emphasis on the real estate and the actual selling like in season 1. I do find it interesting as the whole LA luxury real estate market is so so so far removed from my world and I am comforted to know that even if I did have that kind of money, I wouldn't want to live in 99% of the houses they show. Big blah glass boxes is the truth.
  17. I so agree TXHorns!! Being sympathetic to Betty is human, and sometimes during the course of their story I did feel the pangs of sympathy, but when you step back and look at her situation objectively, you realize how insanely fortunate she was. I mean, at some point, I would've said to Linda "take him, honey!" She was pulling in 16,000 A MONTH, plus had, a what? an Ocean view house? In today's dollars that's over $400,000K a year and a good lawyer (had she listened) probably could've found Dan's assets and gotten her MORE. She was doing a helluva lot better than the gajillions of other women who got dumped by bastard ex-husbands. She was smart, she had a boyfriend, she supposedly had tons of friends before she alienated most of them and she had good counsel that she threw away. I am a lawyer and this was one of the reason I stayed away from family law when I started out because of clients like her that think they know more than you do and are so emotional they refuse to listen and treat you like a therapist, not an attorney. Had she stuck with competent counsel she would have stayed a wealthy woman, still young at the time of the divorce, with the world open to her. I also think her personality disorders made it impossible for her to get help for her mental illness and that's really the sad part. She is a supreme malignant narcissist and was completely unable to be self aware or take responsibility for her own actions. She is a liar and always the victim. Even now. She deserves to die in prison.
  18. OMG This! So much this! Because they could never fathom something like that happening to them, they did not think it could happen to their friend. They loved him and he happened to be black/biracial and they saw his humanity. But way too many white Americans only see race and that's the reality of Alonzo's life and death. Their blindness to their own privilege (being able to go anywhere and do anything) and probably Alonzo's feeling that he was young and invincible, well .... heartbreaking. Regarding Rey Rivera: the only reason I hesitate to say he committed suicide (i.e., jumped off the roof) was where he was found ... If he had jumped ... even if he had run... would he have gone through the roof? I am absolutely not a physics expert but it just doesn't look right and as someone noted, how did he get up there and how did he happen to "fall" into a room that was unused? Suicides are usually found pretty quickly... It was like he thought "hmm, let me jump off the Belvedere and I will hit the roof and or fall through the roof and so no one will find me..." That's just ... I don't buy it. I do not even think he jumped or was pushed off ... I think someone or someones killed him and planted him in that room. Regarding Xavier: I do not believe for one second he offed himself. No way. And I think "broke" meant he would not be able to take care of a family of of 6 in the style in which he was accustomed to going forward ... so he chose himself and he chose carefully. He had had that gun since the death of his father and I think he saw the money running out he had about 3+ months to plan things out. I bet he had a nice chunk of change left that he stashed in a Swiss or foreign bank account and paid for documents and a new identity. Enough to start over somewhere and get an unassuming job. I think his pilgrimage with a big show of him using credit cards and whatnot in his real name was just that, a big show. It was creepy how he seemed to look into the camera before disappearing. I think he killed them after he had his plans in place and not before... this was not sudden. As for his "bad back" making it impossible to do what he did (dig the graves) like his friend was saying.... meh. Adrenaline, wine, and painkillers can help with that. I would imagine once you have committed to murdering your entire family and your 2 dogs stuff like back pain and finding someone to dummy up documents for you is no big deal. He could have rented another car and stashed it somewhere else in that town and drove himself out of there, leaving behind his car, or had bribed a cargo ship or jumped on a train ... The producer announced they had a promising tip saying he was spotted in Chicago... If he is still alive, and i think he is, I hope they find that rat bastard. Regarding the show ... I really like it and I do not mind the 1 story per episode format. I was a HUGE fan of UM back in the 80s/early 90s so I was wary about the reboot but I appreciate that they did not try to keep it too similar and I screeched when I saw GHOST ROBERT STACK in the opening credits. To this GenXer, I thought it was well done. But I do agree I wouldn't mind some more paranormal stories ...the UFO one was not super interesting to me as was the last episode about that poor daughter. Only because, as others have said, it's so obvious it was her sicko mother that did her in. But there will be 6 more eps coming so I can't wait!
  19. I said it before on another post but GD, turn on a light! I hate shows that try to create capital "G" Gravitas by shooting everything so dark. That is just not how people live. If it is so overcast and gloomy outside, people don't sit in the dark. Like the kitchen was dark, the doctor's waiting room was dark (and she was such a big deal she had no receptionist)? I just watched this because I wanted to see if they revealed who is the murderer. I didn't read the book but from the show, it seems to confirm Jacob did kill Ben, yes? Also - one or both of them should have been killed by that crash. Laurie seemed to be on her way to a full recovery and I... can't see how? She drove head first 80+ mph into a stone wall... do the crash pads protect the human body that well???? Overall a meh series, wouldn't recommend. Is the book worth reading?
  20. Agree with the general sentiments here. Chiming in to add: turn on some GD lights, people! It’s so frickin dark all the time ... I’d probably feel stabby too ...
  21. hmmm interesting, and I am genuinely curious as to what hints you picked up on? I agree that the actor who portrayed Moishe did a great job - there were moments when I laughed out loud at his comments and I can get why some people would see him as charming... but that said, I still see him more as a garden variety sociopath or at least someone with sociopathic tendencies, with no care to change who he is...
  22. Respectfully, I have to disagree. I think that is rationalising his bad behaviour and I absolutely think he knew that at least some of what he was doing was wrong (I can agree that he may think what he is doing was completely justified, but that is different than knowing what he was doing was wrong). Yanky - who I would argue was even more brainwashed than Moishe in the sense he was way more sheltered -- knew Moishe was acting badly and going too far. It's why he went back alone to speak to Esty's mother. Yanky, to me, was the tragic character in the sense he was essentially a good man who did care for Esty but with him I can see where every single mistake he made was due to his upbringing and brainwashing. Had Moishe been Esty's husband, I really doubt he would have bothered stopping during sex because Esty felt pain --unlike Yanky who only seemed to finish, despite Esty's pain, because SHE told him to. Despite everything, he was respecting her agency. I think Moishe would have just raped her and shrugged because as a woman and his wife, that would've been his "right" and her "duty." TL:DR Moishe was a garbage human.
  23. And that kind of tells you that someone also thinks listing someone's profession as an "influencer" is bullshit. "Digital entrepreneur" sounds a lot better (and more legit). Exactly, if she had been a guest judge on the challenges around digital marketing (like the photoshoot) or even the pop up shop (like how to harness SM to get people into your B&M and online shop) but no, she's talking about the clothes and really, what are her qualifications to critique the clothes? When she said something like "all my followers would wear that" I burst out laughing. That's the best you can do? What a ridiculous thing to say. This. And trying to keep things current and young (it is fashion after all) is a laudable goal for a show like this, but they completely screwed the pooch in execution. I really really wanted to like this show but I have to agree with another poster (sorry forgot who) who gave this show a grade of C. It could have been so much better... I could have even enjoyed the Heidi and Tim "bits" if they were a bit more joyful and not so fake, forced, and weird (did she seriously get that pissed about a dumb game???). (Like I thought the comparison of their packing techniques was funny in an odd couple kind of way and felt more natural than the fencing and the sake pounding). Do we know yet whether there is a second season? If so, would be curious if they change anything...
  24. Oy with the boobs, Heidi... that dress was a monstrosity... that runway show was terrible, as others said what with the quick cuts and the darkness and the dark clothes I could barely see the items... but that’s been true of a lot of the show, the quick edits and cuts to the judges takes away from the Fah-shun, darling... along with the scenes of Paris, NY & Tokyo, that’s why I watch these types of shows. other thoughts: lose the fucking influencer as judge, please ...maybe I’m an old fart but I don’t get why a mildly pretty person with millions of followers on instagram should suddenly be someone I should listen to? Tim’s tearing up got on my nerves, and I have a soft spot for him - I can’t figure out if I still like him after this... I loved him on PR back in the beginning and I never watched Under the Gunn so I don’t remember if he was always so weepy..but after awhile his tears felt over the top and unearned ... I live in Berlin. While Germans tend to pride themselves on their (usually) excellent English they do have a love of cringeworthy sayings in English that is inexplicable. Like the cheesier the better. All this to say that Esther latching on to “Hungry for Life” and feeling it’s profound made me chuckle because it’s soooo German. But girl, enough with the fucking black... and I love wearing black myself but some gray tones or deep purples or blues wouldn’t kill her ...she did make beautiful clothes though, so I may check out her store sometime. i was whatever on Jonny winning ... he seems like an ok enough sort but I question whether he’s Mr Next Global brand guy...his bags were boring and uninspired, his pop up had a dated mid-90s LA feel to me, his pitch to the scary Amazon lady didn’t seem all that cohesive and he didn’t seem to handle pressure well during the competition (and needed help to finish at least twice)... but I guess he did at least try to evolve and introduce dresses and things beyond his black biker dude wear so ....good for him? Sander looked like he was going to punch a bitch out when he heard he wasn’t in the finale... can’t say I was sorry to see him knocked down a peg or 2 as I sometimes found his arrogance grating. He’s talented for sure but he still needs to grow up... Naomi fucking Campbell was, hands down, my favorite judge and favorite part of the show. Say what you will, but she’s a fashion legend and also knows WTF she’s talking about and I agree with her that when it comes to couture “you have to know your history and respect must be paid” ... I want judges like her and Joseph ... people who have had real careers in fashion - not nitwit influencers and socialites. I would include Heidi in the former group but we all know she has shitty taste...Heidi should only judge Halloween costumes, honestly... Also, Heidi? stop shouting 1 million dollars every 5 minutes ...it’s annoying af and yea, I wouldn’t sneeze at it,but let’s not act like it’s a ton of money in 2020 to launch a global brand /eye roll. all in all a just ok show, they really need to revamp it if it gets a second season ...
