  1. Omg! Omg! I will not even look. My brain just went for a walk…..
  2. I saw that last night, I am so glad I know how to roast potatoes and make scrambled eggs yey!
  3. Just saw the episode and wow, I totally agree with all of you fine posters about the instructions. Are they really that dumb? Wow. As for the pasta ala Ladd, that was just basic meat sauce. The only thing I have never added to something like that is thyme. As usual just cheese, bacon etc etc. Nothing new ever. I snickered when she made that comment about the whole wheat tortillas too.
  4. I am not sure what olives were doing in a mexican pasta salad, but perhaps that is just me.
  5. As usual nothing new. Chicken and bacon and steak and brownies and a little chopped salad. Blah, really? Well she has the ratings therefore I suppose a lot of people enjoy watching the same food being made over and over and over. I guess I was supposed to enjoy how they decorated their man cave or something? Not so much.
  6. I saw her show where she puts spins on things, and in the beginning of the show she says she will visit a friend's shop for some tex-mex eggs. Now the eggs in question are actually Columbian. The lady who owns the shop was inspired by her Columbian employees to make this dish. Columbian is not tex-mex IMO. Perhaps I am being nit picky but there it is.
  7. This post was moved to episode discussion thread, thanks Bastet.
  8. Maybe 20 minutes or so, and oh yes this method is easy. And the cornmeal makes them so nicely crunchy. Then I layer a large cookie sheet with paper towels to absorb extra oil. Let me know how it turns out if you try it 3pwood :)
  9. I have started making fried green tomatoes last year and I love the recipe I use, I did a bit of research and it is just 3 ingredients, Soak them in buttermilk, then dredge in corn meal (the fine kind) and shallow fry in canola oil. I do not season them because I like them with hot sauce. But any sauce will do. I am not a southerner as well, but let me tell you these are addictive.
  10. Yesterday I caught her saying that nutmeg was minty. It was the planting seeds episode. It's on today.
  11. Holy crap, I just learned how to chop an ice burg lettuce into wedges! Wow!
  12. cardamon = licoricey and lemon-grassy Say it isn't so, seriously? She really has lost it.
  13. For some reason I cannot imagine Giada watching Game of Thrones, but that's just me. Cheesebugh in the old thread said she is tired of hearing her saying that maple syrup is smokey. I concur. Enough. Here is my take on Giada making anything, you want a sandwich? I'm going to put arugula in it. You want a salad? Arugula. You want pesto? I am going to use arugula. You want pizza? I'm going to top it with arugula. I like me greens, so I am going to put arugula in the pasta salad. Tacos? Arugula. Sorry for the rant, but there are other greens! The other day I bought red watercress and tender pea shoots at whole foods. They were awesome in everything.
  14. Saw a new episode, I learned that whole grain mustard is elegant. And of course there was arugula in 2 dishes and a sun dried tomato in a dressing. Boring. And lemon juice. There are other ingredients in the world Lady! She explained how to peel a cucumber too. She said it's just like peeling carrots. K then. Anyone else seen this? It was a mother's day episode.
  15. I figured that it's probably not like that all over US, but I live pretty close to Ina. Not in the Hamptons though :)
