  1. Hi all! It’s been a very long while since I have posted. I can’t even remember when I quit watching but I started back when they started the classic episodes. I see many here don’t like them but I’m loving them. They aren’t all great but they are so much better than what I was seeing on my screen when I quit. Y&R was always a slow burn soap so to speak. Storylines weren’t over in a week. By the time a SL was ending you were very invested in what was happening. My reason for posting is because of today’s episode. What the freaking hell was that show killing bitch JFP 🤬🤬🤬🤬thinking? AFAIC if Victor Kiriakis can still be an important part of DOOL John Abbott can/could, too. I have enjoyed seeing John these last few months and think he is very needed on the Y&R canvas. Today’s episode brought tears and then just pissed me off 😡😡😡beyond all reason. I see Victor Newman’s character show so much vileness and hatred and wonder why? Why do they think we will like that raging, narcissistic ass? He’s a VILLAIN. Ooh, I’m getting worked up just thinking he has Colleen’s heart in that disgusting excuse for a human body. Just needed to get that off my chest.😎
  2. I guess I did not make myself clear. I think the cover is better than the original. That’s why I said I don’t like Bruce’s version. I also love Natalie Merchant singing Because the Night but I like Bruce’s, too. The two are very different musically especially Natalie’s Unplugged version.
  3. So I’ve read most of this thread and I can’t believe no one mentioned Springsteen’s Blinded by the Light. I love Bruce but his version is awful imo. Maybe it’s because Manfred Mann’s version was sooo popular but I can not listen to Bruce sing it. It’s like nails on a chalkboard for me.
  4. I thought this documentary/series was great. I, too, was tired of Johnny Cash but I understood why he was highlighted. He was special but if Burns could have cut a bit of him it would have helped IMO. I was so disappointed in the time given to George Strait. I saw him when he was playing in ballrooms at hotels and I saw him at one of his last concerts at JerryWorld. For those of you not from Texas it’s where the Dallas Cowboys play. Over 100,000 people were there each night. I was there for the beginning and the end. I have so many memories that go with his songs. I was in college and had just met my husband and went with him to those ballroom shows. My youngest went with me to the last one and knew the words to every song as did/do I. I wish I could express just how big George was for over twenty years. The song played during the short highlight is one of his best songs (Amarillo by Morning) but was not one of the 60 # 1 hits he had. In my part of the country he was and is called King George. He respects country music history. Almost every album has a Western Swing song on it. One of his big hits was written by Merle. He’s not a songwriter but he knew what worked for him and work it did. I love his music. I love others from many eras, too. I had Patsy Cline’s greatest hits when I was a teenager. I went to school with Charley Pride’s son so I was very familiar with his story. He deserved the section on him. I realize even with the time he had Burns couldn’t cover all the deserving artists. George, Alabama, and Barbara Mandrell should have had more time. I won’t even listen to what is considered country these days. Give me a George Strait Sirius channel and that’d be all I need. This is George singing Merle in one of the few videos he did. https://youtu.be/V-9FdWmZqRQ eta I forgot to mention I love Dolly, Waylon, Willie, and all the other boys. My mom had the eight track tapes of The Outlaws and The Red Headed Stranger. My all time favorite Willie album is Stardust.❤️ Much as I love country I am a girl of my times. I love me some Cars, Foreigner, Journey, Prince, Bruce, etc.... and Garth ain’t got nothin on Bruce.
  5. I really liked Fontana. He was abrasive but he did not suffer fools gladly. It was a challenge for any actor to follow Jerry/Lenny. I’d take him every.single.day and twice on Sunday over Cassady.?I’ve mentioned before that I love “Thinking Makes it So.” It was definitely a thought provoking episode. I feel like Logan did some questionable things, too, but I still loved him. But, McCoy was willing to make a deal for the little girl who was kidnapped. As a matter of fact he went against the expressed wishes of Branch. I can’t think of the name of the episode and I just watched it the other day. It’s the one where Branch talks to the judge and she sets aside the deal after the kidnapper tells them where the child is. So, depending on the situation deals were made. Branch stepped in on that case and that scum got exactly what he deserved. That bastard was going to get off scot free and McCoy was going to resign after making the deal. Pretty sure Branch tells Jack he’ll never be a DA in this episode. Anyone else remember? I have to add that I’d take Fontana and his abrasive personality over Rey and his never ending sanctimony.
  6. IMO Meghan is a mendacious obfuscator. I choose those words because I bet money she doesn’t know what they mean and even if she does she couldn’t use them correctly. She seems to revel in being vituperative. It is so very hard for me to believe she went to a Catholic high school. At the one I attended I was expected to know what they meant (and so very many more) and be able to use them. I know Joy could correct her when she uses the wrong word and/or mispronounces it. She shows her ignorance daily and the little she seems to know about history is shameful. I know I said that before but that bothers me more than I can adequately express.
  7. I have heard this many times. BB could eviscerate you and make you smile as she did it. I have to say that Meghan can’t come close in that regard. My grandmother would roll over in her grave if she heard Meghan. I can hear her in my head. That girl is a vicious, vile, vituperative, vitriolic, venomous snake. I don’t think Meghan can use a couple of those words correctly even if, by chance, she knows them. I hate to be so mean. I wanted to give her a chance but she just seems like a bitter, resentful, mean, nasty, spiteful person. Surely her family sees her hostility. I’d sure as hell want to be told but I don’t think cares as the “republican” at the table. She makes me want to throw things at my tv. That is why I rarely watch and keep up through this forum.
  8. Lately this forum has been so awesome that I’ve been trying to watch some of show. Y’all have been on fire!? I could not believe Meghan’s comment about Hoover. Her knowledge of history is shameful. She’s a damn fidiot and I think that’s being generous. I’d like to add that that her language skills are beyond awful esp for a self proclaimed “political pundit”. You don’t fillet a person. You fillet a damn fish. You would eviscerate a person if you had that ability and she proves she doesn’t on a daily basis. The stupid burns so brightly in her I can’t believe the others at the table don’t wear sunglasses ??
  9. Absolutely. Great line by the administrative judge giving him the option of being sick or going to the review board. He was a raging asshole.
  10. Just watched Burned. Jeebus Cripes but that judge was stupider ?or at least as stupid ?as the one in Killerz. I taught and that shit irritates the hell out of me.??
  11. Just watched Terminal. I love this episode. Adam is front and center and is great. I believe this is the only episode that shows Adam in the courtroom as part of the legal team. Love when he has argues his side of the case. "Your Honor, if I may...The Governor's using his office to put a man's life in the balance. He claims his power is absolute--beyond review. That's arrogant. Smacks of royal authority. I don't think the Constitution allows it and I know the justice system can't tolerate it." I ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Adam. Also, he is terrific at the hospital. He says nothing just makes that small sound when his wife dies. So sad yet so good!!!
  12. But I thought Mike could have gone back to Manhattan before he went to CI. Deakins mentions that Anita had tried to get him back several times. IDK if she was shut down by 1PP or if Logan didn’t want to screw with that shit. He did have an attitude. I loved him but TIIC at 1PP did not. Am I remembering this correctly?
  13. Oooh watching Competence which as I have said is one of my favorite Anita episodes. That kid was such a shit. Lying and threatening the young girl with special needs. Makes me angry ????every time I watch. He knew what he was doing and deserved to be found guilty. Briscoe and Logan did a great job getting the girl to show them where to find the gun. IAB pissed me off, too, with the insinuations that Anita wasn’t deserving of her position. Anita was great on the stand with the Grand Jury and with the mother whose son was killed.???
  14. This was the episode where Nora had a round table with all her ADAs about the going for the death penalty, yes? I liked that there was a discussion from differing POVs not just Nora, Jack, and Abbie’s. It was a pretty heinous act/murder on the part of that young man and the kids with him. I just watched Coma with Larry Miller as the comedy club owner. Such a smug, slimy, bottom of the barrel character. It’s so hard to believe any woman would marry him and be fooled by that oh so fake affect. I’m not a fan as I mentioned and this episode only confirms my dislike.
  15. In Competence Lenny mentions that Anita worked in the Narcotic’s division before she came over to the 27. I always thought she was a detective at that time. That is one of my favorite episodes that revolves around Anita.
  16. It would have been awesome to see what happened to that little sociopath even though I know she’d have been a killer. That “She’s my best friend” ridiculousness should have made Olivet change her mind. You’re the parent you stupid bitch. A child shouldn’t be your best friend. Ugh! I liked when L&O would revisit a case like the ones with Larry Miller who was a such a creep in his episodes.
  17. Damn it! Damn it! I looked it up and still wrote the wrong title name. ? eta and now it’s Fixed.??
  18. I never hated Melnick. IDK maybe because I like Tovah Feldshuh and I always enjoyed that L&O had recurring characters. I liked her give and take with Jack. She could be a royal bitch and very often had an agenda. There were definitely episodes were I intensely disliked her. To each his own. ? I know this is a UO but I liked Fontana and watch Thinking Makes It So any time I see it’s on the schedule. Did not like Borgia in this episode. Actually, I never liked her. I freaking loved Fontana in Fixed when he treated that stupid woman who was engaged to Jacob Lowenstein like the idiot she was. Criminal Law was good, too. He had an attitude but he was not even close to being the sanctimonious asshole Rey was. I hated that DF was replaced by that stupid model cop. ?????? I loved how Anita treated her with disdain. Loved when she would tell her off like in her first episode. When Anita tells her to watch and learn and then has to tell her, again, I cheer a little inside. What a mistake she was. Killerz is on TNT today. I know it’s been mentioned here but that girl really is scary creepy. Skoda had her pegged. I always liked Olivet but she was wrong. I always think to myself it was her hormones and pregnancy talking in that episode.
  19. It’s feral hogs here and I do know people who have AR-15s and they use it for the same reason. You would never use one on an animal if you want any of the meat. Gah, she’s just spouting off NRA bullshit. Does she have an original thought in that brain or is it all memorized from the extreme right, conservative, Republican playbook?
  20. I live in the middle of ranching, cotton, and oil country. She knows nothing about the gun culture. I grew up around guns, my family hunts, and I have zero interest in guns. 95% of the people I know are responsible gun owners. Some have more guns than I can count but this Second Amendment slippery slope bs has got to stop!? Hey Meghan, even SCOTUS justice Scalia said, “We think that limitation is fairly supported by the historical tradition of prohibiting the carrying of ‘dangerous and unusual weapons.’” Girl needs to go back and take Politial Science and learn about the Bill of Rights! As a matter of fact I’m pretty sure that is taught in 5th/6th grade. (I taught) The stupid really, really burns hotter than hell when she spits out this shit. BTW y’all crack me up on a daily basis. Many Thanks!
  21. That is exactly what happened. I read all the L&O forms and WendyCR72 you seem to love the franchise as much as I do. I just don’t post. I find that I’m hate watching SVU. I don’t want to give it up but St. Olivia of Perpetual Sanctimony and Self Righteousness has ruined this show. I am so hoping the return of McCoy and intro of Stone to the L&O world is so they can do a mothership reboot. I know it won’t happen but I can dream. I miss a really good procedural esp good L&O. Repeats of this show are so much better than just about anything on regular tv these days. Olivia infuriated me when she said the best ADA she’d ever worked with was Barba. Really, Olivia????? What about Cabot and Novak? I guess both of them almost dying for a case is insignificant compared to your (MH) need to have a tongue bath from the people who work with you. Boy does this show need Cragen back to put her in her place. TPTB really need to do something about her but maybe they really want to cancel and are letting MH sink this ship so it’ll all be on her. If that happens she only has to look in the mirror because it is her fault. Branch did tell her she’d be a better advocate but I believe it was after she asked if it was b/c she was a lesbian.
  22. My choice would be Grant turning down the role of Linus in Sabrina. I have such a hard time seeing Audrey/Sabrina choose Bogart’s Linus over Holden’s David. I would have zero problems had Cary been Linus. Every time I watch it I wish I was watching Cary instead of Bogart. Holden was so good in Bridge on the River Kwai. Now, if your talking dramatic quality/Academy Award I see your point.
  23. I don’t think I’ve posted in this thread here. I did quite a bit at TWoP and I’m still reading all the posts. I saw this post and had to respond. I love this movie. My husband and I will watch it any time it’s playing. I, too, love all the themes. I am very partial to the skating scene, the harp scene with Gladys Cooper, and the tree decorating. Just love it. Gladys Cooper is so good at mean and selfish. Just watched Now, Voyager and I so dislike her. Mean and selfish describe her to a T. More importantly I love Cary Grant because Cary Grant. Does anyone really need another reason?
  24. FTBS Does any one care if they ever see Billy/JT have scenes with Jack/PB? I sure as hell don’t unless PB is wiping the floor with his ass. The fact that Billy gets to have a POV and is such a smug, condescending, unapologetic asshole does him no favors. If and when I watch I change the channel every.single.time. he has scenes. Unless I read Jack is giving him his huge nostrils and ass in a hand basket I don’t care about Billy. He acts like an entitled two year old. If Mal actually thinks he’s doing Billy some big favors he’s delusional. Getting your feedback from Twitter is beyond ridiculous. Anyone can tweet and retweet a thousand times. How about the people who actually bother to call or write? Those viewers are the ones who really care because they are taking the time to make their feelings known. Twitter takes all of 15 seconds if that. It’s unbelievablely ridiculous that he and his bosses are that oblivious IMOHO. I don’t watch reality but I’ve seen DWTS and how many times and different ways a person can vote. It’s stupid but you can’t fix stupid. You can fire it but you can’t fix it. Ugh the Phyllis/Billy thing is sooooo unbelievable. Please somebody save me/us from this pile of horse shit.
