  1. Omg. I just read this trilogy in one sitting and loved it. I told the author I wish they'd been script supervisor on the show, bringing up things I had never even considered before as far as character inconsistencies. And now... I am a fan of fan fiction, it definitely helps the pain.
  2. You're all right that Rory did defend Luke, I guess I felt she moved on to forgive Emily really quickly, too. And I think I wanted it to be spelled out - Luke did this and this and this...lol! :) Did Lorelai and Emily ever talk things out after the Logan dinner? All I can remember is her spilling her guts in the magazine and asking her mom not to get mad at what she reads. Its a lot of freezing, burns, and move on without talking until someone erupts all over the other person in this family, mostly between Emily and Lorelai, IMO.
  3. In You Jump Jack, I Jump Jack, after Richard is coming home from a day of golf with Luke, Emily tells Richard "how could you encourage that relationship...he's not good enough for Lorelai and he's an inappropriate step father for Rory." I had always wished there had been an episode where Lorelai or Rory would set Emily straight on just how much Luke had been there for her girls. Or even where she became privy to seeing him be there for them with her own eyes and shut up forever about him. Maybe in the revival?
  4. ^I don't know if Jason would have even given it to her. I can imagine him squirming uncomfortably to tell her no. :) But I know you're right why she didn't. It just would have been nice to see a convo between Lorelai and Jason about what was happening, it would have justified or validated for me, in a way, their being in a relationship for as long as they were. I guess I feel like their relationship was just as pointless as Luke and Nicole, to drag out season 4.
  5. I totally agree. In Incredibly Shrinking Lorelais she could have easily broken down to Jason at the house. He was there for the whole conversation. I know why it was written the way it was, but it was still weird, especially with them continuing to date afterwards and as you said him giving her a key. And the Luke/Nicole thing, so pointless.
  6. i really like The Incredible Shrinking Lorelais, too, and Chicken or Beef. Also, in the Clamor and the Clangor. For me, the end of Jason is telling in the Incredible Shrinking Lorelais b/c why didn't she say anything to her boyfriend about her financial situation (not to borrow money but to at least tell him about her situation), and he seemed more interested in Trix having said Richard made a bad investment than that Lorelai was hemorrhaging money. It was telling to me where Luke and Lorelai's friendship had gotten to b/c she wouldn't borrow money from him for the termite damage on her house in s2 but in s4, she 's breaking down and in desperate need of his help. I never noticed this before until I had rewatched s4 but why is there no mention of Christopher except twice, once of them at the dinner where Digger gets himself invited, and then he conveniently shows up in s5. There's not even a "dad called" or "how's gigi?" conversation, but supposedly he would call once a week and on holidays according to previous seasons. I know they mention he couldn't make it to the high school graduation but it was weird that out of 22 episodes he was only mentioned 2 times. Atleast this is my recollection. (Sorry, graduation was end of s3. so maybe he is only mentioned once)
  7. junienmomo, LOL. I watched this show sporadically when it was on tv, but I think I was more into Buffy or Friends or something, and then I saw the episode where Rory sleeps with her ex-married boyfriend and I stopped watching, so I never really knew what was going on with the show. Then I started watching the reruns on UP network and realized it was on Netflix and binge watched it. I was so surprised by the way the show went that I started googling everything I could and was surprised to find so many forums and articles and think pieces and then of course, they announced the revival to my delight. My favorite season is pretty much season 2 and 3, with 1 following, because I love the Luke and Jess storyline. Of course, I love the Gilmore sl, too. But I always wanted to know about Luke's relationship with his father and how that impacted him, mostly from a personal standpoint because I lost my father when I was 21, and it pretty much still affects me to this day even though its been almost 15 years now. So I def would have tuned in to the Luke's Diner show, it probably could have worked as a crossover or something, although that probably would have been a lot of work for the actors. I think Bunheads could definitely be in Stars Hollow from what I've seen. I'm looking forward to the musical in the revival, the dance numbers on Bunheads are really great and Sutton Foster is a really good musical theater actor, so I'm looking forward to that.
  8. I've heard that her own relationship with her mother isn't that great, so I could see her working out her own issues through Lorelai and Rory's relationship, and even Lorelai and Emily's. Writing can be cathartic. - Sometimes I think the Luke character might have gotten away from them, because he was meant to be a female at first. So I don't know if the studio decided to change the character to a male or if the Palladino's did. But sometimes it felt like maybe they were thrown by the popularity of the Luke sl- just speculating. I've even read an article where the studio wanted Luke to get a spin-off but ASP felt Luke would never leave SH, so they went with the Jess spin-off. -I felt like her saying, "Luke might be the best of them all" was satisfying. They really do not want to spoil that story for the fans, so I have resigned myself to just wait to find out what's going to happen. -I don't know if we'll ever get the straight story on how this revival all came about. I'm just glad it's happening and I'm ready for it to come already. I heard Ed Hermann was one of the first people to sign up for the ATX festival, its just sad he didn't get to live to see it come back to life. -I think you're also correct about Daniel being her Luke while she fantasizes about the Christopher's and Dean's in her past. Like I said, writing can be cathartic, look at all the fan fiction people write so they can leave the story satisfied for themselves. I always wondered, as other people have stated in the forums, about ASP not being able to write Lorelai and Rory in stable relationships, considering she seems to be in one with Daniel, they've been married quite awhile now. But perhaps, its that them not being in a stable relationship allowed more opportunity for drama in their eyes, but she was coming off of a show, Roseanne, where the whole premise was about drama within a marriage and family, so I don't really know. Its possible that there was a lot of behind the scenes pressure to create drama and ratings. IDK. There has been so much info coming out, I sometimes wonder if they're going to release the episodes sooner than fall. How are they going to keep up with the hype that's been created by the article and everything surrounding it? My hope is we could possibly get a trailer in the summer, if they're sticking with the fall release. That would totally top the article. I know its only a few months but its a long time to wait. :)
  9. Radio interview of the EW article (a little bit more than what was in the magazine): Interviews with Alexis, Scott, Kelly, Lauren, and ASP. https://soundcloud.com/allinmymind/gg-special Francie is also back. This site is good for spoilers: http://www.gilmorenews.com/category/gilmore-girls-revival/
  10. I think they're referring to Season 1 episode: Christopher Returns. Its in the opening scenes, and they're sitting on the couch. Lorelai says she's known Christopher "since she was six" but she doesn't say since we were six. So, I guess we're just supposed to assume they're the same age.
  11. Then it will become like Sherlock where you have to wait for years for them to do more episodes. But, it has been 8 years, so....as you said, never say never.
  12. In the EW article, the author says that "the movies are set 8 years after season 7, which by the way, Amy still hasn't watched, though she made sure her story lines didn't contradict anything televised. When "Winter" begins, Luke and Lorelai are still not married (though earlier in the article, the author calls Luke, Lorelai's fiancé). Rory's one article published in the New Yorker hasn't exactly helped her journalism aspirations, and she's living a vagabond life and not seeing much of her mom." Also, "About the ending, Alexis Bledel cryptically adds, "It is very much what Amy wanted. If anyone knows Amy's storytelling, they'll maybe know what to expect. It does kind of throw you." Wasn't Rory going to be on the campaign, filing stories? Isn't that in some way, working in journalism, maybe not on the level she wanted but still.. (I really don't know anything about this career, so...) I guess my question is do you think from her only having published one article, that she didn't stick with the campaign job when we come back to the revival? and if that's the case, what has she been doing for 8 years? Isn't it odd, though, that they waited exactly 8 years, when Obama's run is coming to a close. I think I'm also wondering if the Palladino's truly kept elements from the 7th season. They do have those continuity errors from time to time. ....hmmm. Sorry for the long post, but I had to add, from what Alexis said about the ending, do you think its going to stump everyone?
  13. I love this Sookie scene.
  14. These nitpicks are so small. There is a piano in the living room behind the couch that is clearly visible in Kiss and Tell when they're all sitting on the floor watching Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. It's there until Breakup, Part II. All the episodes afterwards, it looks like they tore the wall down where the piano was, or maybe moved sets, I don't know. It was just funny to me that they would have a piano. I don't remember there being any references to someone being musically inclined or taking lessons. Please correct me if I'm wrong on that. Also, when Lorelai meets Max at the coffee shop when they're discussing whether to date, Lorelai says something about wanting to join the Bangles and Max says but they broke up, there's no band anymore. Then they go to the Bangles concert in Concert Interruptus. I had to look it up, but the Bangles broke up in '89 and they got back together the year before GG came out, in '99. It was just funny to me. (Loved Eternal Flame as a kid by the way) I watch this show too much. :)
