  1. I do like Anna, I guess she's not long for this world though, more's the pity. This show must think it's audience are idiots.....barely 3 episodes ago Mr Crimestead is turning a blind eye to police brutality, conspiring with the other two to cover it up & blackmailing an FBI agent & this week....Voight can't possibly think of a way to handle the situation 'cleanly' so runs to Mr Crimestead for advice because he's so what? Pure? Innocent? Morally stable? It's insulting. It's not like Voight has always done the wrong thing, he is actually quite smart so to beat us over the head with the 'new' way of doing things was hilariously bad writing. ( And this is not me saying Voight is a good cop...but he's not a dumb cop). I was actually surprised at how the writers had Burgess going into the bakery & Ruzek not wigging out...sadly I know it wasn't because they intended it to show character growth & maturity & more because they were not the focus of the episode so did the bare minimum. Had it been either of their episodes Ruzek would've been almost leaping out of the car to bust down the door....so even though it was probably inadvertent I enjoyed just seeing them doing their jobs with no fuss like competent cops. I liked the case, and the more case focussed bent without any of the couples drama inserted into it. So that was enjoyable. but the lack of Trudy was disappointing. I could've taken Voight going to Trudy for advice. What is annoying though is that they've barely established Anna & now it's a cliffhanger for her character at least and it will be months before it'e revisited. They do nothing to bed down these recurring characters with the viewers.
  2. The 'Gabbyfication' of Stella is almost complete.
  3. The gyrating comment made me laugh. That guys agitation was way over the top, for dramatic purposes I am guessing. But yes, it does happen, quite often. I've nursed kids who were bought in with wildlife in their ears, maggots & the like. Sadly it's generally from kids who's living conditions are very sub standard.
  4. It's the first episode I've bothered to watch for months & it's as bad as I remember.....I kind liked Pelham & Hawkins, can they keep those two & get rid of Gallo & Stella? I really hate what they've done to her character. I swear at the start of the episode she was quick to try & blame Pelham right up until Severide told her that he believed him. Can't say I am at all interested in her taking over Truck 81, because that's where this is heading right? Don't need to see her running to her BF for validation every 30 secs. She was such a good strong female character...what the hell happened? Gallo is a shallow, whiney, & very annoying. I do still love Ritter though, I just wish he wasn't yoked to that idiot. Brett's character seems a bit aimless at the moment. They seem to be setting her up for a departure, whether that's permanent or temporary. Hermann is infantile, and the dog is cute.
  5. Probably not...it was nice that Kevin finally got a story that wasn't black v blue, so that was a pleasant surprise. The case dragged a bit, it wasn't that compelling though, not edge of your seat. The show does have a different feel about it though, perhaps they are slowly moving on from the Eid era.
  6. Kev, Kev, Kev..... you are not blonde & female, you don't get rewarded for lying. Interesting that the show went there though, that Kev loses everything because of his lies, while the Lying Cabal of Vupstead get away scot free. How did he think that was every going to end well? "Sorry Celeste, my bad... but I promise not to lie anymore?" I feel sorry for Celeste, but not Kevin. However I am pissed that this is the story they gave him after having zero personal storylines for years. So over the course of 9 seasons, Kev has had 2 chicks who've lasted a total of 3 episodes. Yikes, they really don't care about him do they? And did we even know that Jordan was still in town. Last we heard about him was in season 7. I had to rewind the bit where Ruzek & Burgess actually had a follow up conversation about the adoption. See it's really not THAT hard to have a 30 second scene to keep the audience engaged and in the know. So far, season 9 part 2 is a vast improvement on part 1, it feels a little more balanced & they are even seeding in other storylines within the one episode, like bringing back Anna who seems to be front & centre with the Goblin next week...hope it continues.
  7. The only time the lack of continuity on this show has been a blessing.
  8. I get your point...I think I was more expecting him to physically do something stupid and that's more what I meant. I guess I have zero empathy or sympathy for child sex offenders so did I care he was outed...nope. Harsh, maybe yes but that's how I feel. They do deserve every little bit of hell rained down on them.
  9. I am fully convinced the people that write this show have never watched it. So Ruzek is sleeping on Burgess's couch apparently, taking care of Makayla in her blink & you'd miss it hospital/recovery time, taking her to school & suddenly he's not on the list to pick her up? Two episodes ago she was all over him, picking him up from a bar, saying let's go home, you have Makayla & I and now it's like 'no, you can't do that'....he was right, he's just her back up plan & I am glad he called her on her bullshit. Mopey and Dopey's marriage announcement was as bland & underwhelming as they are. Glad that was given the 3 seconds of screen time it deserved & they then spent the rest of the episode looking like they both needed some Imodium or Zantac. I'd like to think they are choking on their guilt but then I remember they have zero guilt or regrets or integrity. The rest of the episode was owned by Ruzek, I was waiting for him to do something stupid like he would've a couple of seasons ago but his pained rage was impressive. Seriously he is criminally underused on this show, has a full range & can do it all, not just wander around looking like he has a medical condition. His onscreen presence with the kid who plays Makayla is insanely good however I do find it strange that the vast majority of Makayla's scenes are with Adam & not Kim. I don't particularly buy the connection between Kim & Makayla & I think that's what makes this story so blech. Honestly on one hand I'd be happy for the kid to leave because they have zero commitment to developing it, but on the other hand it's just cycling Burgess straight into her next traumatic life event, which they also don't seem to give a fuck about developing it or committing to showing. The Louie 2.0 random relative showing up.....yawn...we've already sat through this on fire. Overall weird episode, yet again they try to make the perp seem like a victim & want the audience to be sympathetic because he lost a child. The ending to the case was underwhelming & they spent so much time focussed on one angle it felt unbalanced.
  10. Did I miss Voight holding a gun to Jay's Head? It was Jay's decision to compromise his morals & blackmail North, not Voight's. Nobody can make you do anything you don't want to do, he could've told the truth but he chose not too. Jay had the choice to do the moral & right thing but chose not to. Is Voight scum? Yes he is however he isn't responsible for the moral decision's of other cops. Every choice comes with a consequence, Voight, Jay & Upton all chose to cover up a crime. Upton chose to walk away and not report it, she chose to continue to lie & destroy evidence, she chose to keep it a secret, all her choices. Jay chose to blackmail an FBI agent. His choice. Voight chose to tie up & beat Roy, lie & destroy evidence. His choice. They all lack morals & integrity.
  11. oh Good....I was just wondering when they were going to traumatise Kim again...🙄
  12. My mistake.....Although that wasn't the blackmail scene, at that point they were telling her that she'd be charged with murder if anything happened to Jay,........Upton wasn't with Voight when he blackmailed Angela....did tell him it needed to be 'taken care of' though & encouraged Jay to just ignore it, to make it go away. Jay did have some morals back then, has zero cred now. That aside, in this episode Jay Blackmailed an FBI agent to get his crime bride off. He now has zero right to ever question anyone else in that Unit ever again. They have finally driven the final nail in Halstead's coffin, all 3 of them are in bed together.
  13. He was murdered, he was then burnt....and 3 people know that & are covering it up & that's a felony. I actually had zero issue with her 'shoot' it was every thing she has done since which is criminal & immoral & lacks integrity. At the point of time they killed him they didn't actually know he had shot Kim. Yes they knew Kim was shot but they played judge jury & executioner with regards to Kim. So she is okay getting other people to do her dirty work, she had Darrius Walker murdered for revenge because she was pissed off & was giddy about it. Great qualities for a cop. And then let's not forget planting of evidence, and the blackmailing, along with Voight of the women who shot Jay. Yep, none of them have clean hands, but only 3 of them can claim, murder, burning a body, destroying evidence, lying & blackmail to their rap sheets...that's quite the season the cabal are having. It's cute you think Kim will find out, as you said the story is over, Kim being brutally bashed, shot & left for dead was irrelevant. They completely ignored her trauma & storyline & tried to make Upton the victim. That's some A grade trash storytelling. The actors have admitted that as of episode 13 she doesn't know & the writers haven't indicated to them that she will... but hey....Upstead get to be 'happy' & we know this because they keep telling us ad nauseum, which I get because on screen it's just plain weird & uncomfortable.
  14. Couldn't agree more.....Why should Upstead get to be 'happier' now? Now? Because they got away with murder & blackmail? Yep they sooo deserve happiness, meanwhile Kim still doesn't know the man who tried to kill her isn't out there waiting for the right moment to come back and finish the job. So we get to see the Liar & her Lackey skipping happily through life because the 'Roy' case is over....🙄. All three of them are trash.
  15. Just seemed apt for them, the cold heartless Crimesteads
  16. I surprised they didn't invite him into the martial bed, seeing as they are all one big happy criminal family now. Oh and black rings... perfectly matched to their cold black hearts.
  17. Talk about the next episode when they start a thread for that. These threads don't speculate on future episodes. Generally any comments not about the current episode will be moved or deleted. They run a tight ship around here.
  18. Ha, so the Crimesteads got married, how twee. And the whole Roy story is over, with ZERO FUCKING consequences for anyone, and ZERO FUCKING CLOSURE for Kim. So what they used Kim being beaten & shot & almost dying to shove this soulless freaking ghoul onto us. Oh poor freakin' Hailey - commits crimes, lies, covers up murders, blackmails people, life is so freakin' hard for her because she had trauuuummmmaaaa as a child. Let's reward her with a wedding & a hypocrite of a husband. Eid's parting shot, ruin a once decent character with a great backstory & some depth & make him sell his soul for the devil. Jay marries his second basketcase on a whim. Well isn't that just dandy. Meanwhile, Kim, who was the actual victim gets dirt. This show & the writers have jumped the shark, they have just put together half a season of proving that being dirty, corrupt assholes is just fine and dandy.
  19. I haven't seen a show eat itself quite so spectacularly since Dexter season 8.
  20. There was two guys, the one that kidnapped Burgess & Roy....Roy shot both that guy (no idea what his name was) and Burgess, the guy died. Self defense was the easy option, yet the writers had to manufactured this moronic, insipid storyline so they could drag it out & we can all enjoy Mopey & Dopey overemote week in week out. 🙄 It is clear that Burgess getting kidnapped was a plot point to highlight Eid's little Pet project. Because having a cop kill a guy, help cover it up, lie to colleagues, ignore the trauma of the victim, lie to the FBI and get her idiotic boyfriend to propose to her, move into her dream apartment is exactly the way I'd try and get the audience to like a character who already has a fairly divided audience.
  21. Unless the fact that Halstead had traced it recently alerted them to something?..... however, the writing of this show and particularly this storyline has so many holes in it that you could drive several trucks through it. As if a man wanted for the murder of a senior police officers son, underaged teenaged sex trafficked girls & the kidnapping, beating & shooting of another officer & whatever else he'd gotten up would be forgotten about after one brief...'oh we've looked we can find him episode.' They wouldn't have already checked the GPS, phone data & movements of everyone involved that day? So it took them months to talk to Burgess about it? This has been a total clusterfuck from the get go.
  22. I feel sorry for Jesse Lee Soffer, once a good character now reduced to a wimpy feckless bit player who does nothing but prop up his partner. I don't blame him for phoning it in.
  23. Then why start the Boden being promoted storyline at the start of the season when they knew that Casey was leaving anyway? It feels a bit Deja Vu, Monica told Haas she was leaving yet he refused to believe it and ploughed on with his storyline regardless which ended up being so contrived & out of the blue....this feels like the same. He seems petty & refuses to budge on what he wants to do, whether it makes sense of not.
  24. Perhaps Obstruction of Justice if push came to shove. Jay's biggest 'crime' is his moral hypocrisy at this point.
