  1. I think you mean The Valley but this made my day, because if you're familiar with The Villages in Florida, it's um, well, rife with potential stories (and weird Florida urban legends). I'd actually watch the real-life soap opera about people who (allegedly) were inspired by Bill O'Reilly and use loofahs as some sort of sex message. 😅 (I know there's a documentary, but thinking of The Villages with the Vanderpump style/format makes me legit LOL.) But I agree with you - Even years ago when they were younger I had moments of "these people are 30" and now I'm like, "these people are 40" and it's even sadder. It's always kind of been like watching a lost tribe for me. Kind of like Rock of Love, I had no frame of reference of the life these folks led. Their Adderall, brunch-fueled lives, ill advised theme parties, and lack of impulse control (and all the coke, man) was fascinating to me. Now I just see mostly desperate people. If I ever break out in hives it'll probably be out of second-hand embarrassment from watching Scheana and Broke try to act on these eps. If Sandoval did't have an ego the size of the universe and the show planners had any impulse control themselves, Sandoval should have taken a part-time role where he shows up a few times in dramatic fashion, and actually was accountable without all of his whataboutisms. I really, truly do not wish to hear about all the ways Ariana and Tom are driving each other crazy. Don't care about the cat litter, who leaves takeout containers where, etc. It's just not good TV, man. But this is a show where people try to squeeze every cent they can get from merchandise with lame quotes about their lawyers. So I don't know why I expect anything less than trash. 😐
  2. I sat here watching this mess like, Ariana, girl, run. You have one actual friend in this group, the rest are jealous assholes who only want to be your friend if they can get Uber Eats commercials and a possible rec for DWTS. Sandoval is disturbing, and the rest of them are being gleefully gaslit and enjoying it. The hypocrisy over the "make peace," and "get over it" crowd is just gross. Let's bring in Rand, see how peaceful LaLa is about that. Anger doesn't look good on anyone, but I can't begrudge Ariana her anger. This type of thing is not a "get over it" quickly kind of thing? It's gonna take more than a few months. My god, I'm just so grateful for my friends right now who give me room to have my feelings without judging them. Sandoval's shamelessness makes me physically uncomfortable. He isn't sorry in the least, and he seems to think he can whine his way out of this - cuz that's exactly what's happening with 95% of the damn cast. Katie and Schwartz, however, are the most watchable they've ever been. I somehow enjoy this weirdo stage they've entered. If this show makes it another year, I hope if revolves around Summer Moon and Hippie/Graham Cracker, and maybe Ally. Otherwise, ugh, boring. Not compelling TV, folks.
  3. I really feel like they're working overtime to prop up Sandoval and demonize Ariana, and it's getting really hard to watch. I kept popping in and out because Sandoval just makes me sick. If I found out a "friend" had made out with my ex hub/boyfriend while I was with him, even if it was a decade+ ago I would have feelings. I wouldn't be devastated, but at the very least I'd be annoyed. I would also have feelings if just a few months after I was betrayed by my partner and one of my dearest friends that most of my "friends" would be doing their best to to sidle up to my cheating ex. Jo and Schwartz make a perfect couple and should just get married, move to Awkwardland USA and be done with it. Never have two people been so well matched. And Jo can try to be as innocent as she wants - she was complicit in Scandoval while pretending to be close to Ariana - I can see why Ariana wants nothing to do with her. Ariana should be able to leave her pets in her home when she is not there and expect them to be safe. I do not blame her for Sandoval being heartless. If Scheana were my friend and I found out she tracked me? We would not be friends anymore, lol. Is it because I'm old? Do the young kids do that? I didn't see Graham this ep and that's really the only reason why I'm here. Oh, and Lisa's reaction to SCHWARTY SLEPT WITH SCHEANA??? was so hilarious I could listen to it on a loop...
  4. Yeah, the Sandoval redemption and vilification of Ariana aren't things I want to see. EVERYTHING Sandoval says is scripted, and he gets grosser and grosser and as these boys bring him back into the fold, and his predator mask shows more and more. TBH it's sickening to watch this dumbass manipulate these other dumbasses. It's just ... gross. I keep going back to gross. I've always felt Katie got a bum rap over the years, and I think she's showing here that she's in the minority here - she knows how to friend. I don't think Ariana is all that worried about getting iced out because these people are showing them who they are and she's believing them. It's best to have a really great friend or two than have a group of women who channel their feelings of inadequacy into hatred for your. Scheana's BS mourning of a friendship that never was is just a mask for her burning, raging jealousy. And Lala mostly amuses me but her self-appointed sage role is getting old. Deal with your own shit, Lala. You have enough of it. I hope at the end of this season Ariana and Katie peace out of this crap. But honestly I cannot imagine season 12. It would be torture. This episode made me say, "At least it looks better than Pump Rules," to a The Valley commercial. That's scary, man! Jo makes me uncomfortable. It's weird. I want to like her, because I generally like goofy and awkward, but the dedication to the hat, the only brief eye contact she makes and her general fidgeting make me feel like she's just always jonesing for something, lol. I'm sure that's not true but it's just weird and off. I want to like her, because Schwartz needs a friend as odd and weird as he is, but there's just something that makes me feel a little ick? I can't figure it out. Allie's earnest belief that we'd have world peace if we only knew each other's birth charts was the best moment of the episode. It's mean but the constant showing of the plane every time they show James' house makes me LOL. And I'm liking the bloke this year.
  5. Omg, I had no idea that Marcus’ claim to bball fame is UCF. 🤣 No offense to UCF at all - it’s just not the first thing that comes to mind when one thinks of the bball dynasty Lil’ Jordan thinks he’s part of. I know his dad has a rep as a jerk, but at least he has talent. Marcus is out here acting like he has special talent when he probably wouldn’t have played ball dang anywhere without being a nepo baby. This bitch. 💩 He could find a cure for Sandoval but Marcus is always gonna be the dishes comment to me. No forgives. I like Julia but she’s fibbing and needs to fess up to the mom shaming. Lisa should apologize for a thousand things, but I feel for her here. I hope she was able to procure more lip gloss… My sister just started watching Miami - she got a few shows into season 1 then just went to the reboot seasons - she got bored. She also only listens to about half she hears. So about halfway through the first reboot season (season 4?) she says this: OMG - that’s the same Larsa from season one??? I thought there were two Larsas!! 😅 I was like sister, there are a few Larsas… I’m always amazed by how fast these ladies can go from “I hate you” to “oh, girl, fix your hair, love your dress” - I guess it’s a muscle you build on these shows, lol.
  6. I might be in the minority here, but I'd rather watch an hour of sandwich shop interviews than see a minute of Sandoval. He's gross, it's hard watching this shit. Schwartz gives me a disturbed vibe, and Scheana's jealousy and self-centeredness make her not great to watch. I can't believe she actually pondered when anything was going to be about her, lol. I feel like Brock has barely covered simmering hatred for Sandoval but needs the Bravo check so he hasn't killed him. I think the only super enjoyable part was when Lala finally was like, "I can't believe I felt sorry for you" and just yelled at Tom. Also Graham is adorable and I swear to god he's making me actually like James - that dog is magic! I've always wanted to go to Lake Tahoe, and I only got through this episode by enjoying the beautiful scenery. Now I super want to go to Lake Tahoe. :)
  7. I think I'm done. I won't watch the Tom / Toms show. They're both gross, I'm so disgusted by Ariana's alleged friends, and I think if I hear Sandoval's whiny, pathetic, disgusting voice once more I'll hurl. Thank god for the James/Graham moments - they were the only things that kept me from completely hurling. This was also boring. Tahoe looks amazing, the rent-a-wolf was beautiful. (I have no idea why TF she named her new restaurant Wolf and I don't care...) These people are awful. I was literally more interested in who paid for what furniture in the fallen house of Scandoval than I was about anything non-Graham related that was happening in Tahoe. This show is boring. It was an effort to not turn on Northern Exposure on Amazon. I doubt I'll make such valiant efforts next week. Not to be that bitch, but wasn't the last time James actually saw George Michael (RIP) when he was a small child? How does he have such strong memories of an unfortunately named dog? Graham Cracker is a cute name, Hippie is ... well okay, lol. The fact that Ally's cat was even out and trying to interact with the dog is a good sign. They'll work it out. My cat basically owns my giant dog now, and it's funny as hell. If my BFF went on a Lake Tahoe trip with my ex who had just spectacularly cheated on me the way Tom did, she'd no longer be my BFF. Ariana would do herself a huge favor is she left these idiots in her rearview. None of them are her actual friends. Oh, really glad Lisa didn't call the wolf sexy...
  8. I feel every word of this. Went through the same thing and my real friends wanted nothing to do with my husband - they would have gone on a trip with him over their own dead bodies. I did have friends like Scheana - I don't have them anymore. They chose, I'm fine. This show is disgusting and I think I'm done with it. The Toms are both disgusting.
  9. Amen. THC is literally medicine. I don’t care how AA feels about it. (Also no offense to AA - I know it helps so many.) James seems more stable and happy than we’ve ever seen them. Whatever works for you, dude. He is the least annoying he’s ever been - but that might be Ally, heh. I can’t bring myself to care about Shorts and Jo or literally anything in Shorts’ life. Also, did Tom really go somewhere and pay to take a cold bath? Please tell me this is far more special than it sounded…
  10. If we're going to get the Sandoval fake suicidal thoughts redemption tour, I'm out of here. The only part of the episode that was enjoyable was seeing poor Graham and James reunited. Sandoval is scum for emotionally manipulating Lisa like that. At this point in their lives it's been a few months since everything went down, and like most narcissists, Sandoval doesn't realize why everyone is still mad, and he's still projecting and has learned nothing. He and Schwartz are both disgusting and I can hardly watch this shit now. Billy Lee - why is she back? GTFO, lady. I hope this is the last season. This has officially gotten boring. And I don't want to see everyone turn the tables and put Ariana on the outs. I hope she leaves the show and leaves every single one of these idiots behind, save for maybe Ally. Summer Moon might be the cutest little kid I've ever seen...
  11. I think Ariana is a joy to watch - she’s definitely wow’d me, and she’s so consistent. Plus, I feel like she’s just truly enjoying and appreciating the whole experience. It’s just fun for me to watch. I wonder where she is in the voting ranks? I feel like she’s been as good as Xochitl - who is amazing. They’re my favorites. Love Jason, too - that was absolutely perfect. My sister is in the hospital and said Harry going home made her feel better. 🤣 I adore Alyson. She’s the least skilled dancer left, yet I’d rather watch her dance from tonight again than Charity’s. Also Charity, I love fringe pants, but don’t get into a Marge Simpson Chanel suit situation. 😂 I’m just kind of stunned that no matter how the rest shakes out I’ll enjoy it. I’d be good with Ariana, Xochitl, or Jason, but I’m just enjoying the dancing. And no mo’ tree. 🌳
  12. I'd pay cash money to see grunge night. I'm going hongraaaaaayyyy... I mean, Julianna in a flannel gown, Alfonso wearing shorts with black leggings and docs, overwrought melancholy infused dances to Pearl Jam songs, Cobain rising from the dead to stop it all... I'm there, dude.
  13. I might be in the minority, but I loved Ariana's performance. I feel like she's having a ball - maybe that's why I enjoy her performances. Xochitl is just next-level. That dance was frigging amazing. Val might pull a muscle trying to keep up with her, but they might be my favorite pairing. She's so dang likable, and they're just fun to watch. I was smiling ear to ear. Wasn't Jason's best but I still enjoyed it. I'm a huge fan of his music, but him being a great dancer is shocking, lol. I never would have guessed. I'm glad Johnny Bravo lives another week. He seems like such a sweet man, and I love Peta. LOVE Alyson, but I feel like they got the scores they deserved tonight. I have a feeling she'll stick around for a while. Buffy fans are FOREVER and she's sooooo darling she has to be inspiring new fans. Cannot wait to see the pros come back and dance in honor of Len. Maks!!!! I stopped watching when he stopped showing up. Came back this season because I heard Tyra was gone and I didn't need a Disney login. And maybe I'm getting nicer in my old age, but I think both Alfonso and Julianne are doing a fantastic job. She's loud - for sure - but she gets her role and knows how to move a show along. I was never a fan of hers - or her brother - so color me super shocked that I'm not minding either of them this year. BYE Adrian. Don't let the door hit ya. Or well, yes, let the door hit you. Hard. Of all the athletes in all the world... why?
  14. Watching Sandoval start to spin out when he realized that Raquel was putting 2 + 2 together, and that he wouldn't have the time or space to fix it? It was the only really genuine moment that jerk face has had thus far. That was 100% real panic, and his Miss Teen South Carolina word salad response that somehow involved fashion approval choices and a green-sequin flashback... It's the nuance of shit like this that I have a hard time explaining to my non-watching friends, heh. I had a former boss who was convinced that all tall, skinny people were aliens. He told me they all had a "switch" of sort in their brains and one day their mother planet would turn it on and they would destroy us all. (This man was an executive, lol.) I always thought that boss a tad cray, but watching Raquel's lack of response to destroying the feelings of people she claimed she loved ... she might be an alien. Like, I want her to be an alien. Cuz that disconnected and cold is unsettling. Lala and James are both ridiculous but this show is ridiculous and Tom and Raquel deserve all the yelling. Nobody deserves death threats, but catching hell for devastating shit you do just because you are horrible? They still need some more of that. If I were James, I'd feel betrayed. But I also think the whole affair started pre-Rachella, so I'm in deep. I have a feeling the revelation will not be terribly shocking. It's Bravo.
  15. Tom Sandoval trying to fake hyperventilating would be funny if he didn't make me so sick to my stomach. You can see in his face that he thinks he's really killing the scene. The sheer level of smarm is almost an accomplishment. Sandoval never did anything for me, but in past years I could understand maybe why another person might find him attractive. But the past 2 years or so, his rapid aging is jarring. Like Olay came out with a meth formula. He looks haggard and pervy and gross and smelly and dirty and disgusting. Shortz looks like Felix Unger's slacker nephew. They are both disgusting. Rachel/Raquel ... yeah, she didn't murder anyone. But she knew every single tiny little step of the way that she was hurting Ariana, and she enjoyed it. When she made James quit drinking it had nothing to do with her relationship - she was upset that she was being shut out of the cool kids circle. James was only good when she needed him for access. She's garbage. Has anyone seen the Good As Gold Uber Eats video? I kind of can't unsee it. Also can't find where I saw it, or I'd link it. :)
  16. I flipped to watching the documentary on Netflix after watching this episode and was a little freaked out by how well Colin Firth has the voice down, good lord. I’m not sure of the purpose or the end game with this show. I feel like the earlier episodes were better put together, though I am fascinated by the dynamic of all the kids. I don’t mind those parts, and wow if it’s true that he tried to give one of the “German” sisters away. I still can’t believe the bored and his owl theory got more air time. 🙄
  17. Leto looks more like Tom Hiddleston as Loki and it would be too distracting if he didn't have the Adam voice and the general air of douche-baggery down pat. I tried watching Super Pumped and literally only kept it on for the background music because of all the Pearl Jam songs (I'm also old, and am too wondering about all of these charlatans, lol.). I think I'm enjoying this one more than the others — Hathaway's Rebekah is 10X more fascinating than Anna Delvey. I was recently reading that the poor Neumanns are currently "only" worth a few hundred million. Poor dears. Oh, I don't know if the yogi eating canned stew in his office actually happened, but it might be my favorite scene so far...
  18. I watched the Hulu doc about these folks, then went down an internet rabbit hole about the Neumanns, so I was really looking forward to this. Hathaway being almost as tall as Leto is distracting because yeah, Neumann was taaallll. But everything I’ve seen with the real Rebekah makes me think Hathaway is holding back, heh. She grates my nerves, and her husband is clearly, to me, a garden variety piece of shit who was clearly just renting office space. At least with Theranos there was some there there with at least the promise of what was to be. But this grosso was able to get people to buy into the fact that renting office space and adult dorm living was going to change the world? What? That said, I enjoyed the first three episodes. The whole work-as-a-life-purpose thing is so culty. No employer of mine is going to get me to chant jack shit. And booze at work? I’m old - so I say old lady shit - who the hell wants to work with buzzed/drunk people? Even pondering NY real estate stresses me out and I live in Florida. The mandatory summer camps would have been the last straw for me. I wish they would have given Leto more lashes - he talks a lot like Neumann, but closeup shots just look like he’s playing dress up. If I ever meet Rebekah, I will greet her with: Is Gwyneth coming? 🙃
  19. OMG, this show. So many bad choices, so much creepiness. Tie dye uncle bad touch is projecting his gross intentions so much, and his wife is two seconds away from a breakdown. At least the young woman in the ill-advised situation with the college admin and her husband basically admitted she wanted $ and stuff. I can’t believe how quickly I got sucked into this mess. 😂
  20. No flames here. :) I really liked Jerry because of his back story, and remember thinking it would be nice if he was actually better at the whole cheer thing because he sure had the spirit. And I saw that sort of surface and fake "gurl!" way that he acted as a way to keep people at arm's length because of trauma he experienced as a child. And wow, now we know his facade was covering up something horrible and dark. Watching his ego take hold in season 2 was haunting but also well done. The Cameo video recording during the pedi while complaining that the colors weren't interesting enough spoke volumes. When a college friend of mine - a damn good friend of mine - got arrested for child porn about 10 years after college, my college friend group all at first had the same reaction: There must be some mistake. It's a bit earth-rocking to find out that someone you used to share countless joints with while watching a billion hours of Monty Python was a pedophile the entire time, and you had no idea. When he admitted to all of it, I puked. For me, it was an immediate "that scumbag is dead to me I hope he gets hit by a bus" response. But there were friends who were like Gabi and said, "But he's still my friend I can't not be there for him," and it fractured our group. I can't be okay with someone who is okay with someone who did that. And I have 5 years of amazing memories with a monster. It's messed up. (Oh and he did 4 MONTHS in jail. Don't get me started...) On a lighter note, why don't they just make this whole series about the yearly showdown between the two schools? Monica vs. Vontae? I would watch the shit out of that for infinity. Who's gonna win this year? Jr. college A or B who have the same colors? There's clearly enough local support, or at least enough local support that want to be on TV. Ah, Khris... I forgot about his "there's divorce in my family" thing, like, "there's alcoholism in my family so I don't drink." Like, it's a foregone conclusion that he'll get divorced if he gets married and that his wife will never understand his dedication to junior college cheering? I mean, I realize that we have patterns and that divorce has life-long impacts on children well into adulthood, so I don't want to minimize any divorce trauma Khris may have, but like, were his parents Brangelina? Also, Cassadee and Gillian were like a bright little light of goodness, and I would have happily traded the werido Monica/La'Darious crying and hysterics for more of them. I seriously could have used a lot more of Cassadee playing self-esteem coach for her BFF. They reminded me just how magic and precious girl/women friendships are at all ages. Given her T&T beginnings, I have a feeling Cassadee's next journey might involve being The Bachelorette or a Real Houswewife, heh, but I'll watch.
  21. So this is really all about two Texas junior college cheer teams competing once a year in Florida? And there are scholarships? I know very little of this world, and assumed there were tons of other schools they just weren’t showing us. National champions? I mean, I’m fascinated and engaged, but lordy. This series can seem like a Christopher Guest movie at times. I want a spin-off about Khris, and how a man can devote his entire life to a yearly junior college cheering competition to such an extent that he can’t commit to his lady love - and he lives with friends who sort of talk to him like he’s a child. I need to know more about Khris… They sort of glossed over Monica getting Covid - I wonder how long she was down with it? There were a few times when she just seemed to be stunned and depressed - and wow nobody was happy about her being on DWTS. They handled the Jerry horribleness about the only way they could. He can rot in prison - I’m glad they minimized him until the one episode, because he just makes me gag now. The kids who spoke out are brave, and I hope they can find a cheer home where they feel safe. It seems to be a very special thing to the folks who love it, and I hope they get to experience that. I like to think that the team that didn’t win lost because they threw a glass bottle into the ocean like they weren’t right there in a goddamn beach area. Trashing the ocean aside, maybe their fears can cut open someone’s foot. Freakin’ tourists, man. Since Navarro has the bandshell, and Covid and all, they should have kept it local and just did their routines in a parking lot halfway between schools. OMG Cassadee - I like seeing a Toddlers and Tiaras vet doing well.
  22. I just found this show when I was channel surfing last weekend and did a little binge watching. I get really tired of "ghost" shows after a few episodes, but I love this show's concept. I'm endlessly amused that there's a show about 4 people who just go around to intentionally have the crap scared out of themselves. If you watch a few episodes in a row, you really zone in on how many times someone screams: Whoah, what was that??? They're adorable, all of them. They seem like lovely people, and it's fun seeing where they're going to go next. Also, as someone who grew up in WV (not far from the Moundsville Pen), I'm glad to see all of our haunted old asylums and prisons getting some press, heh.
  23. I had a weird Chip moment IRL. One of my high school’s biggest BMOC (he was dreamy) got a much envied job at the mall movie theater back in the day. We used to go see any movie (Including Weekend at Bernie’s) just to see him and have what was always a dull conversation with him because he wasn’t exactly a genius. FFWD literally (LITERALLY!) 30 years later… I run into him while back home visiting my family. He was still handsome, and I was like, oh, hello. Then we chatted and after a few moments I joked, “So, are you still working at the movie theater?” And much to my shock he proudly said yes, and that he was now a supervisor. My conversation with him was soooooo much like Monica’s that part of me thought maybe he was actually a genius and punking me. A friend was visiting recently and we binged a LOT of Friends and noticed a few things we never noticed before - Joey wears a lot of turtlenecks and Monica’s hair changed every other episode, it seemed. Also, now that we know the story of The One Where No One’s Ready, we were both weirdly focused on how Phoebe’s hair was different. And PIVOT will always be funny…
  24. Eh, I think I'm done. I loved the book - and generally, Moriarty's humor really doesn't come across when they adapt her books for TV, and this one is starting to really not resemble the book at all - which I thought did an amazing job of telling each story. This crap is just kind of a waste of talent. I love Melissa McCarthy and she is perfect for her role, and I love Bobby Canavale too, and he's great - but eh. I don't think it's worth it. I'd rather watch reruns of Frasier or something. Bummer, I was pretty psyched about this becoming a series, but it just lost me.
  25. Was that Dan Cortese from MTV Sports? Were my eyes deceiving me? He was funny! “I always teach children crime.” 😂 OMG I love Parker. I know we won’t see a ton of Hardison, so I’m glad we got a good helping of him. Aldis Hodge is just so damn delightful. I am shocked that I really kinda love Briana. The whole DJ bit was hilarious. Enjoying the hell out of this show. I will always love Dr. Carter so I am loving Mr. Wilson. I’m glad he’s a scuzball looking for redemption. He’s good at slimy. Really enjoying the hell out of this.
