  1. When they showed the bathroom with the green wallpaper on the ceiling, and the tile with gold everywhere (or maybe multiple tiles?) I physically recoiled. I mean, this is worse than the stuff the Flip or Flop Vegas lady would come up with. It's strange because she has a love for old houses and details, like keeping original wood and such, but then she'll also throw in super modern tile and wallpaper that just doesn't fit in with the older stuff at all.
  2. OMG - I didn't connect her to Real World Tami!!! Ha! I couldn't place her at all and didn't realize she was able to build a longer career from that start! Kudos to her! I couldn't figure out why she looked so familiar when I had never watched her show (Basketball Wives?). Thank you! I can't believe it's the same person from Real World. She doesn't look any older!
  3. I was so angry at this! She was (understandably) upset and really wasn't even raising her voice much and definitely wasn't throwing a tantrum. It was just a blatant attempt to make himself the good guy in this situation and she was the one being unreasonable.
  4. It seems like Stassi and Katie can't just do polite; fine you don't want to be friends anymore (for reasons that are still fairly mystifying for me) but there are stages between "best friends forever" and having to be actively mean and cruel. I mean, Stassi and Ariana hated each other (well, more Ariana hated Stassi) and they were able to coexist on the show fine. Why do they feel this need to be so cruel about it? I sometimes wonder if there's something behind all this that we didn't see on the show.
  5. I think this challenge was poorly designed. The two breakers basically did nothing and had no impact on the game. At the very least, they should have had the breakers solve the puzzle instead of the divers. I don't mind Dee, she's not a favorite, but I don't have anything against her. I have a bit of a soft spot for Ashley, because I laughed so hard when she kept the $1 million all to herself. She did get railroaded here, but next week it will be someone else getting the same treatment, so I can't get too worked up about it. I'm surprised it only appears to be Tori who wants to go into elimination. When will these idiots realize they need to go into elimination to go to the final. Plus, the more eliminations there are, the "harder" the contestants will be to fight in elimination.
  6. And that he does it every time! I love that they even had an owl sign when they showed up. Not gonna lie, a superb owl party sounds like a lot of fun. (And it took me an embarrassingly long time to realize it was the way it was spelled and not just the vampires mishearing things).
  7. I've been watching this show a lot, as it seems to be the only show HGTV is airing. I like the show well enough, and like that the houses don't all start to look the same. One thing I wondered and is never mentioned - do they put ac in any of these houses? If I lived somewhere that hot and humid and my house was getting totally overhauled, I would definitely have them put in ac. My mom also pointed out that they never show bedrooms in the reveal, which I had never noticed. I wonder why that is.
  8. I always wondered about the animals in the ambassador program. Whenever we see them and the keepers working with them, they're in a hallway that basically looks like a kennel at a pound. Do these animals ever get to go outside, go outside in something like their natural habitat, or get to interact with other members of their species (if appropriate)? Because if not, that seems incredibly horrifying to me.
  9. For all the talk of Raquel being stupid, her "I'm a bad ax bitch" in her talking head was funnier than most of what the otheres say. Also, "What about the cheesecake? It's really good but I just don't eat it because I'm picky about cheesecake." (Cheesecake factory line aside) Who thinks that's an appropriate thing to say to a customer in the restaurant when you are supposed to be selling the food?? I have a soft spot for Scheana, but at this point she's just ignoring everything and pretending her life is how she imagines it or she's so unself-aware that it's painful. At this point she's had many people try to tell her the truth (Brett: we should just be friends; Scheana: But maybe more someday) and Lala telling Scheana that she has a pattern with me and Scheana all 'what do you mean?" So painful to watch.
  10. Yeah, I went to the store after I watched the first episode to see how much they were selling Esther's winning dress for, and was incredibly surprised by how hard it was to even find the store, let alone the winning design. I mean, all Amazon does is sell things...how could their website for their very expensive show be so incredibly poorly designed?
  11. Martha's taste is definitely not my style, but I actually thought the looks they showed of hers in the intro at least showed promise. I could see how she was picked, and I'm not sure the show could have predicted how spectacularly she flamed out and seemed overwhelmed by the process. Overall, I liked it, but my bar is rather low for creative "make something" reality shows. I watch about all of them. I really didn't get the point of the Heidi/Tim in Paris scenes. We saw the designers at different Paris landmarks, and that was enough to showcase Paris. Heidi and Tim were my least favorite thing about Project Runway at the end of their runs. I like Christian and Karlie so much more.
  12. So I just have to chime in and say I love Will Arnett. I've loved him since Arrested Development, and I get that he's an acquired taste. I just keep waiting for them to play The Final Countdown. (Last week?) When he asked the lumberjacks what his song would be, I would have immediately started singing The Final Countdown. Maybe it was a copyright thing. It was so weird that the bros couldn't come up with a better story. You are fighting a scorpion queen, and you have a programmer and a bounty hunter alien. I mean, right off the top of my head, you have some kind of time-traveling war with the heroes from the future going back in time to kill the scorpion queen. Instead they came up with...a bake sale?
  13. I was actually happy to see that Georgia and Callum were still together after the end of the show. I don't know why, but I was rooting for them.
  14. I believe Chris Harrison said they were members of a fraternity who hosted a viewing party. (I'm certain on the viewing party part, not so much the fraternity part).
  15. I listened to it a few times and still couldn't totally understand the lyrics that Nicki Minaj praised for having a double meaning. Anyone catch it?
  16. So, the argument between Lindsay and Carl is that she wanted to stay in and he wanted to go out. And she threw a fit when he went out? That's craziness. I always liked Lindsay and thought she got a bad deal with the whole Everett thing and a lot of her behavior was reactionary to his behavior, but now I see she's just crazy. Apparently, if a man doesn't agree with whatever Lindsay says or wants to do, she throws a fit about it.
  17. I cannot describe how cute I found the whole issue of Hank the turtle eating the food of the broadcast feeders. It seemed just like a problem we had with our dogs (one would try and eat the other's food). I am always impressed by the things trainers come up with to teach an animal a certain behavior. Who would have thought a platform made of car wash strips would work?
  18. In real life, Stassi screaming at Sandoval would be bad/rude on her part, it was a Stassi book signing. I think all of the people there were hoping something like this would happen (I mean, I know I would). (Also not a defense of Sandoval, he was completely in the wrong). So...this may be expecting too much but could Schwartz really bartend? Not in the panic attack way (and why doesn't Sandoval think Schwartz might have moved past that?) but in the alcohol server way. In my state, you have to have a card and have taken a course to serve alcohol.
  19. I liked the first episode, but this one was a slog. While it was all a bit weird and odd, I found myself strangely compelled with it after finishing viewing. Maybe if nothing still happens in the next episode, I'll be out.
  20. I will never understand that when the designers have a team challenge and are supposed to be cohesive, they all assume that means using the same colors or all using the same fabric in some way. Normal collections aren't like that, and how limited is their imagination if they can't come up with something unifying other than color and safety pins? I mean, you don't even have to figure out who "your girl" is for this challenge, since it's Cyndi Lauper! I hate editing. Every time on these team challenges, the team struggling to communicate the most wins and the harmonious team loses.
  21. I have to wonder...in light of all the work stoppages and cost overruns (on the show) and that very few of the houses seem to have sold...where is she getting all this money??
  22. Christian was on Guy's show that was basically Food Network Star but they were all mentored by Guy - Guy's Big Project (?) I think he's also appeared on GGG more than once.
  23. I am quite surprised that I like this show. There's nothing in it that makes it that different or special from other flipping shows, but I still enjoy it quite a bit. I could see how Nina could be a bit much, but I find I actually like her and she seems to know that she can be a bit over the top. I like seeing a different area although I have to admit that I had to lookup online what city they are in since I don't remember it being said on the show (it's possible they did say it, and I just missed it).
  24. Is it just me that whenever they mention stagecoach, I picture the Fyre festival? I told a friend recently that it appears the people on this show are unaware that there are ways to talk to people that don't involve kissing. I mean, a 5 minute conversation and they're locking lips! I know a lot of them know each other but it still seems a little crazy to me.
  25. So Gordon says that this was the first time in 10 seasons they didn't have family come. However, it happened in season 4. I've been watching old seasons on Hulu, and in season 4, Kristi's son couldn't come (I assume because he was young and still in school - I think they said he couldn't miss standardized testing) and so she didn't have anyone come out. They just had her son make a video for her. It just bugged me. 10 seasons isn't that many that we've forgotten everything that has happened before (especially when they're all now available on streaming!)
