  1. Best part of the Devin/Josh forgot to me was “Josh, what’s 8 times 9”. I laughed so hard at that. Some of these “strong” competitors don’t have a good long term strategy. Like Fessy, he had two chances to go in and didn’t choose to, the others would be idiots to put him in the crater, so unless he wins again it doesn’t look like he will even get the chance to earn a skull. I mean, these people aren’t Mensa members, so maybe none of this think that way. But who wants to go against Fessy in an elimination? I don’t see why you wouldn’t go in early if you trust your alliance to vote in who you want to go against. Fessy got mad at Kyle and voted him in, but all that did was give Kyle a skull and Fessy has nothing after two chances. also also, these big unwieldy alliance numbers are not great. The big brother alliance seems to have so many people that only 2-3 teams aren’t in it. That isn’t a good recipe for success.
  2. Funny that I didn't remember that at all, but now that you say it, I remember that part of it. I did think she came across as rather unlikeable, but I think she made for entertaining tv. She also considers herself a strategic mastermind, too...so that will be interesting.
  3. I didn't realize this wasn't the actual series premiere until at least halfway in. I kept wondering why they weren't explaining the game or starting a challenge. Oh well, it was nice to have a bit more introduction, especially with the newbies. I think Lolo probably will make for good tv. I remember when she was on starts vs. pros (or whatever it was called) and she was playing hardcore cutthroat for her charity, when everyone else was treating it as a bit of a lark. I thought all of that was fairly entertaining. At least there's no Bananas. My enjoyment of this season is already higher than last season,
  4. I think one was meant to be male because the team mentioned their names were "Skip" and something else. Not that it matters if it's two females or not, but if they intended one to be male, I think they failed in that respect.
  5. I have to say, I’m not a country fan so I haven’t paid much attention to the country singers, but Bailey Rae has really impressed me the last few weeks. I thought it was a bit odd for the guy to dedicate Angel to his fiancé when I always thought the song was about suicide (google says it’s about drug addiction) either way, not a romantic song. I hated everything about Carter and Rainbow Connection. It’s a simple song and he made it into something it just isn’t. I’m not a carter fan to start with, so that may also color my opinion... I’m team Desz or Tamara
  6. I feel compelled to point out that there are no penguins in the arctic. If this indeed were supposed to be a north pole wedding, there should not have been penguins. The northern lights wedding, with the two people, they both looked female to me. Also, their faces were creepy. What is the point of keeping all the teams until the end if you're not going to factor in prior work? Otherwise they just should have eliminated a team each week.
  7. Jen clearly thinks she's the main star of the show and the queen bee. Problem is, there is nothing interesting about her. There's no "there" there. She has horrible plastic surgery, a "glam squad" that she takes everywhere...and tries to be risque? That's really all I've got. The rest at least have something going on, beyond just being on a tv show. I also thought it was ridiculous that Jen thought it was ok that Whitney went to Mary's church, but Meredith can't, and you can only be friends with one or the other if you're Meredith but not Whitney? I'm sorry, being friends with two people who don't like each other isn't a "conflict of interest" it's just life. The second episode, with much less Jen, was better I thought.
  8. When they said Carter was singing "Hero" I just thought "of course he is." He has a good voice but man is he bland. Madeleine (? Country singer on Kelly's team) has now twice in a row sang a "I can't live without you " type song. I'm not a country fan, but those two songs were almost indistinguishable to me. I think there are also some bad song choices. I can't comment on country, since I know none of those songs, but a lot of the other people I have no idea what they're singing and it doesn't compel me to vote for them (although, I don't vote at all, so I suppose it doesn't matter that much).
  9. One thing I just now started to notice - any time Tarek/Christina makes seem to cost them more. For example, in the walk through of the Spanish house, the talked about enlarging the master bathroom by taking space from the hallway bathroom. Then, when everything is torn down, the discuss doing the same thing and it costs $8000 (or whatever number it was) and the show adds the entire amount as "overage." If it was already planned, why is it not in the original budget? Or, they'll pick a tile for the bathroom, and Christina says the cost and it is all added to the overage, but shouldn't tile have already been in the budget? I think I may be overthinking this show.
  10. I only got election results too. Sad that it appears they won't be airing the one about the Sheik.
  11. Did anyone else notice that the odd eyeballs had a monster with four eyes? It was the one on the right, and I kept looking at it thinking it was missing an eyeball, but I just kept seeing 4. The other teams were so far ahead of theirs, it was almost sad.
  12. Why in the world would you buy gorgeous antiques just to paint over them? The pier mirror you could at least see some of the detail, but the fireplace mantle literally lost everything that made it special. By painting it that color, it looked like it was new build, not an antique. The black looked so terrible when you saw the street view with the other houses. Ok, so you don't like the look of traditional brick. Does the only other option have to be black? Those gold fixtures are also going to be out of style pretty quickly, too.
  13. Holy cow was Drew's reno not to my taste. That black fireplace completely overwhelmed the room, and purple wallpaper (I assume it's wallpaper) was ugly. It was very sad they couldn't save all the hand painting. Aside from the space, it was the most interesting part of Drew's house before.
  14. I actually disliked Brian more than Sarah. He often seemed to completely dismiss whatever it was she was asking about and just wanted to throw up something subpar to open and then in a couple of years redo everything again. I also have to think that a lot of it was for TV Drama - you know it will take weeks/months to get anything to the island when you order it, and I doubt so many things were left with no planning. He also seemed, to me, rather dismissive of her and seemed to enjoy making her angry and laughing at her. He also seemed to never talk to her about anything. He would be moving on to something else and be mad at her when whatever room/area was next wasn't ready to be done because he simply hadn't told her where they were with construction.
  15. Instead of having these "buyers" walk through that then requires Mina to say they didn't end up buying the house, why don't they just follow the Bargain Mansions model and have Mina show the finished house to her family/friends. The Malm (sp?) fireplace was really was beautiful in the room. My favorite part of the reno.
  16. This episode really pushed some of my buttons. First we see Murph talk over Tara and then the directions in the truck, then all of them literally ignoring her as they threw sand on her. The capper for me was when Luis (?) says he, Murph, and the other guy (apparently I haven't been paying enough attention since I don't remember most of the guys' names) worked really hard. And then when Tara brought it up in the van, he said something like "those weren't the words coming out of my mouth." That really made me see red. Even if he wasn't intentionally leaving Tara out, he apparently didn't think of her as working hard on the team. That last bit made me see red. I'll keep cheering for Michelle because she's awesome and Callie since she's a fellow Alaskan.
  17. This appears to be the case, although I can't imagine why. Since his first appearance, I have yet to find anything interesting about him. He's not even "makes good tv" he just...terrible. I'm only 45 min in, and I've already skipped some (Bailey and Kacey) and I'm not sure I'm even going to finish.
  18. I don't think Shea was undeserving of the win, but I would have preferred Juju or Cracker instead. I agree that it seemed like Shea felt she should have won her season and would have if not for the rose petals. It just rubs me the wrong way (same as Richard Blais, mr. "I was supposed to win season 4 of top chef"). It takes away from the winner of that season and while she was one of the top queens of the season, I felt that Sasha was the frontrunner of the season. Everyone on this all stars season had lost their original season (and in Alexis and Juju's cases, multiple seasons). So why was it so much worse for her to have lost than everyone else?
  19. I still can't understand why that lady thought it was necessary to put a door into the hallway on the master bathroom. Aside from the doors hitting each other, the benefit to me or a master bath is I don't have to share it with anyone. I used to live in a one bathroom house and it annoyed me that everyone had to use the one bathroom. I get there otherwise wasn't a bathroom on the first floor, but there had to be a better solution than that stupid door.
  20. I actually like this show. The couple are fine, and to me not annoying. I love renovation shows, and this one is nice because you get a more in-depth look at a project. I have to think some of the "conflict" or "design/construction changes" are to some extent driven by the show. I imagine some of it really does come from what they are able to get shipped and when. My mom and I, when seeing the forklift stuff, wondered why he just didn't fill it in town...cut to the town being out of gas. That is something I don't think you can plan for. I wonder if they have investors on the project, because it has to be an insane amount of money to fix it up.
  21. While I didn't love any of the sketches, I was surprised that Mayhem and India were the bottom group. I thought Shea and Alexis were the worst by fair margin. Literally all they did was claim to be pregnant, pull out the pillows, and then yell at each other. When they revealed Morgan as the assassin, I didn't know who she was until they said her name. Her plastic surgery has made her look less like herself (to me). I also haven't seen her since her last time on the show (maybe an all starts season? I can't even remember), so maybe it just seemed drastic to me.
  22. I'm just now catching up, and after Ainsely killed Endicott I was wondering how they would spin it as self-defense, since she clearly stabbed him more than necessary. But then it occurred to me - does anyone else know that Endicott was there? Ainsley just texted Malcolm. So, there's a possibility they just clean up all the blood and act like nothing happened. If no one knew he was there, it's very easy for them to say he never came to the house. I think it would be an interesting way to play it, because Malcolm would clearl have a hard time keeping that quiet.
  23. Top Chef has always been one of my favorite reality shows, and I'm not a "this show is dead to me, I'm never watching again!" person, but this episode left a seriously bad taste in my mouth. I knew as soon as Tom said Kevin had to beat two, that no matter the food, Kevin would win the first and lose the second to up the "suspense." I also don't think there was any change Kevin wasn't coming back from LCK. I think the only way it could be fair is if the judging was blind. Then the plates with Malarkey. I've always been a fan even if he is a bit much. Luckily he had already finished cooking since the judges not getting all their plates clearly threw him. Also, presumably there are a set number of diners, right? How in the world are they short 2 - 3 plates? The plates that went to another table, where did their food end up? I hope Melissa, Gregory, or Stephanie win. I have nothing against Brian V., but there also nothing super interesting (to me). He's like vanilla ice cream. It's fine, but inot my favorite. However, it's starting to look like Kevin has it in the bag. I hope I'm wrong. Like others, I liked him on his season (although I was super happy Stephanie won that season) but I've liked him less and less the more he's on.
  24. The show has such a focus on a "connection" when they're performing and it is part of the judging. But, this leads to the couple performing to each other and not to the audience. I think if I were in the audience, I wouldn't have enjoyed that performance.
  25. Nelson's ranting made no sense. If Aneesa wanted to go in against Jenna, the best way to try and achieve that is to be in the tribunal. But, we all know how much of a strategic mastermind he is, so...I suppose it made Nelson sense. The whole scene with Jenna and Zach was horrible to watch. I can't believe MTV aired it - we are literally watching an abusive relationship. And even though I knew it was coming, I felt so bad for Jenna when she apologized for...Zach being mad I suppose? I fear that until she figures all this out, she's not going to get out.
