Too much Michonne babbling on and on and on and on....................😒

When I saw where this episode was going, I just skipped over the scenes of talking heads.  How many variations of the "I did it to protect you/I don't need protecting" argument does one need to hear in one hour?

Not everyone has the money/time/resources to build all of Survivor's overused challenges to practice

If you have the means to put your life on hold for a month to be on a freakin' TV show,  I'm sure you can find a way to prepare yourself, especially since many people try for years to be accepted.

  3. What was the deal with the food that Blackthorne insisted on trying that had the two women smiling at each other?  It didn't look or sound very appetizing (spoiled cheese flavor?) so I'm guessing it was something that a Westerner would consider revolting.

ETA: I found a recap that explained the food was called natto, which is fermented soybeans, but didn't explain the women's amusement.

  4. It really felt like WU was clearing out their backlog of McConnell jokes since this may be the last time they can use them.  I'm gonna miss those.

Oh, so that's why I've been hearing about Sydney Sweeney so much for a while.  Yup, very nice...eyes.

When I read about the Biden behind closed doors bit, I was expecting a repeat of the sketch with Phil Hartman as Reagan being a mastermind in private and a doddering grandpa in public.  I wondered if enough time had elapsed to do that again, but they went a different way.

  5. I think Gillis as a cast member would've always been playing the same character, he's such a physical "type,"  it would be hard to see him as anything other than a clichéd high school coach, cop, etc.  I watched his comedy special last week out of curiosity and he came off rather amateurish in his delivery.  He really doesn't seem ready for the big time.  He does do a decent Trump voice, though.

Not a great episode, but some okay moments.  I guess that's the best we can hope for these days.

And kind of nice that Jay has a second way outside of Trevor notes written on steam condensing on mirrors.  Doesn't tilt the scale too off kilter because too much communication would ruin the show,  But just enough.  And nice Jay knows what Sass looks like as well.

Trevor can also send emails, apparently.  Not easily, as I remember, but they could have worked out a system on the computer.

  7. The cremation process was interesting.  I didn't know it required a double burn or that the first step left balls of whatever (ew).

Why would Prior shoot his dad in the head?  I thought cops were trained to aim for the body.  There would have been a chance of survival and possible testimony for the case.  I know, TV show reasons.

And Danvers offers Prior the use of her unheated shed?  Does she want to kill him?  Better he should move into one of the cells at the station.

Aw snap, a mid-credits scene! And that Jade Dragons senior member who I thought was shady the whole season is shady! I really hope they do a second season

So was he the one behind the Boxers or were we never told who Grace was reporting to?

  9. I half expected Munch to turn to dust like some 500-year-old vampire when he bit into the biscuit.  I'm not sure I like having supernatural elements intruding into what I expect to be a noir-ish crime story but I suppose we can hand-wave Munch's backstory as a delusion of the character.

Quite satisfied with Tillman's comeuppance via Lorraine's manipulations.  An eye-for-an-eye type punishment is fitting for that Bible freak.

So we’re all going to ignore the fact that Dot basically got Jordan killed?

Yeah, but he was rude to the nursing staff, so screw him.  Kind of dark comic relief for this show.

I have to wonder if maybe the censors insisted that it not look particularly realistic?

The close ups of the phallic chocolate had me wondering what kind of negotiations went on between Lorne and the network as to how many details they could include, i.e. size of the ridge, veins, etc.  That could be a sketch in itself.

  12. Loved the absurdity of Heidi's character winning three(!) cars just to rub in Emma getting stuck with the tortoise.

The zombie sequence using Mama Cass's song really seemed like it would work in an actual movie.  It's such a familiar trope. Chloe Troast has a pretty decent singing voice.

That voice Emma does as the poster girl is annoyingly bad in my opinion and seems a bit mean to the women who model for a living.

Emma Stone is 35?  JFC, I'm old, or just out of touch.

Not a bad show all in all.  Not great, but a few good moments.

Also, why, when the two henchmen trapped her and one said she had to be alive but didn't need to have her teeth, is the next shot we see of her, unharmed, in the back of the car? Did I miss a scene? They just decided, after she pissed them off, "oh never mind?

After that threat, I assumed she stopped resisting and went along quietly.  After seeing the hammer, I know I would, at least for a while.  I like my teeth...

  14. Seems really stupid to send a mortal human to repair the Loom when you've got two Asgardian gods standing right there.  Loki took a beating from the Hulk way back when, so we know he's pretty resistant.  Of course, Victor getting shredded will serve to explain the many variants that will be seeded throughout the multiverse when the Loom resets or coalesces or whatever it'll do after the blow-up.

Hot chocolate from a machine is no way as good as they made it look.  Bleh...

  15. In the last shot of Iris in the cab,  we see a KYAL building in the distance so if the cult still exists and Iris is there maybe a sequel is possible.

I took it to be set around the 1970s, from the cars in the stock video of the outside of the building at the start of the sketch.

Those were 50s cars judging by the huge fins on one of them.  I had to rewind because I wasn't sure what I'd seen until they got into the sketch and I understood the setting.  I still don't get why it's set in the past, though.  I found it  neither funny nor relatable.  Just an excuse for Heidi to try out a "gal Friday" character, I guess.  She looked great as the Seven-of-Nine type character in the sci-fi sketch, though.  Look out, Jeri Ryan!

I think there were never that many at the same time & aren't they kind of newly more self-aware when before they just followed orders without question.

I should think after you've snuffed out billions of lives over the years, you develop a pretty thick skin.  If they're now more self-aware, they'll be in for a bad time when they think back about their past actions.

It seems has jelly legs. It just seems like he refuses to use his legs completely. When they were climbing the wall, I couldn't help but say out loud "DAMMIT BRANDON! USE YOUR LEGS TO PUSH YOURSELF!" It seems like he was just trying to use his upper body to drag his legs, and this legs are just caving under him.

I noticed that, too.  At one of the competitions, when he got the signal to start running, it looked like his legs were weighted down with lead, the way he was clomping along.  That poor kid is just too bottom heavy.  I swear he's got the wrong build for a male: wide hips, heavy thighs, and narrow shoulders.
