  1. I adored Anthony, but it seemed that Fraser and Captain supported him plenty. Fraser helped him plate all the time and gave him plenty of advice - Captain had a couple of reasonable chats with him pointing out where he needed to improve. But it's Fraser and his team that have to deal with unhappy (and in this case, demanding and ridiculous) guests and they have their own jobs to do without having to mentor or assist the chef too. He has to be able to do his job, and he was struggling. Not sure why he wasn't getting help with dishes, or if that's a normal thing, but maybe they didn't have the resources. No clue. Didn't like how Fraser handed the Barbie situation, but I don't blame him for this. It just sucked because Anthony is a sweetheart.
  2. I agree with pretty much everything, although I don't mind what anybody wears. Having two returning players, and even announcing them as "stars" with everybody else in their "entourages", then giving them safety and handing one of them HoH - not really my idea of fun to watch. I didn't remember Anthony either, so I had to search old threads on a different site and discovered that I despised watching him. So much I guess I just forgot. And Victoria is super shrill and annoying. She's over-playing. This Vivek/Bayleigh thing was unnecessary. So hopefully she and Anthony will be out sooner rather than later with few new players sacrificed. I usually like watching them get their footing in the first couple of weeks, but this is just boring and hard to watch. I might also just skip the season - we'll see how the rest of this week goes.
  3. Mike was messy, but he won, so good on him. I didn't particularly like him, so it's completely unsatisfying, but even worse was Gurleen's bizarre decision. But I guess it's easy to play from my couch... I didn't like the F5 non-reveal. I think it cheated Trevon of the sliver of enjoyment he'd get from being banished as a faithful, and it stacked the odds even more in Mike's favour. I also didn't watch much of the mission, and I agree with Lady Calypso that it wasn't a very good season. But of course I'll watch UK and US second seasons. Hopefully they change things up a bit!
  4. This doesn't really make sense to me. Mickey is "blackmailed" (ie, forced) to be a Traitor. But before he can do anything traitorish, he gets banished for being a traitor. And everybody celebrates, but it just seems weird to me because they essentially just banished a faithful. I thought Mike was super suspicious during the round table. It could totally be the edit, but he just came across completely smug and overconfident. But only Trevon seems to be on to him? I'm wishing they'd either incorporate some Mole-like sabotage or better yet, drop the challenges and go all out Werewolf. But add some of the other characters in the mix so it isn't so heavily weighted in the werewolves'/traitors' favour and to make games more interesting and diverse.
  5. Looking back at all the versions of this show, I can't really pinpoint many faithfuls who have had great gameplay, and I think it's mostly because it's practically impossible to detect traitors and have the time to build a convincing argument without getting murdered or banished first. Traitors just have to be able to avoid initial suspicion and then go along with "the house". It's only really the end game that gets interesting. I agree with @Lady Calypso that Kuzie and Mike left too many quiet people which left them without any shields. Neither of them have played particularly well (despite what Kuzie thinks) but I'm just thinking that in all the versions of the show, only one traitor stood out to me as particularly good at the game (spoiler tag below) I really like the premise of the game, but I think it needs to be re-worked a little to keep it fresh and counter the need for produced twists like the dinner party choice and the upcoming blackmail. Maybe make it a little more Mole-ish where the traitors need to sabotage. I have no idea what to predict given the forced recruitment with such low numbers. I hope Gurleen is a winner in the end.
  6. I didn't realize there was a thread for this! The more series of Traitors I watch, the less I'm enjoying it. The challenges being the same is bad enough, but there's not that much on the line to care about, anyway. How much money they win means nothing to me - just who wins it in the end. And the immunity is still so random that the outcome of the challenges is only slightly relevant. The Traitors are way too powerful - they're like superheroes without a weakness. There's not a whole lot for the Faithfuls to go on, so much of the time they end up grasping at straws and going for the last thing that caught their attention. Traitors don't have to do anything at all that might cause them to look suspicious. Even who they murder doesn't say a whole lot, because players question whether they were trying to frame somebody or if they plain wanted to murder them. And because they don't have to actually Traitor-hunt, they have the luxury of following others' leads a little more. Even though that starts to look suspect as it did tonight, it's a lot easier to lay low early and establish a solid game plan. So when you get Traitors like Kuzie and Mike, I find it unpleasant to watch. If Kuzie's arrogant "Queen" persona were even slightly tongue-in-cheek, I wouldn't mind her. And Mike is definitely comfortable and pleased with himself. I want to keep enjoying the show but I really hope future series change it up a little. Now that I've got all that negativity off my chest... :P Rooting for the Gurleen and Mary pretty much and hoping that Kuzie gets taken down a peg or ten.
  7. I'm liking Greg and Jon. They seem competent and competitive while having a great time. AL can get off my tv any time now. She's also competent and competitive, but there's no indication she's enjoying herself at all, and she's rude to her dad, to other teams, and she's dismissive with clue bearers and adjudicators. This is less a case of "men take charge, women are bossy" and more like "Anna Leigh is unpleasant". Aw, Shecky the Comedy Camel! I really want to get on board with the pink ladies, but I can't get over the "out of towners" shrieking wherever they go. To me it's obnoxious and disrespectful. I like Rob and Cory, and Joel and Garrett are actually growing on me a bit. I'm enjoying this season so far!
  8. This kind of behaviour has been going on for as long as I can remember. It's always pissed me off that many cast members have had to fight off unwanted attention from others. People have been kissed and groped without consent on all versions of this show. Luke did exactly that to drunken Margot a couple of weeks ago, and nobody intervened then. And yeah, big kudos to Jason for dealing with it in a way that supported Margot. I feel like Glenn would have been giggling and high fiving Gary Luke with his "aw shucks, boys will be boys" attitude. It's really not ok that Bravo has let this shit go on for so many years. It's time to clean up. Aesha was badass in handling the situation, and the best scene in that whole debacle was the girls supporting each other. More of that good stuff, please!
  9. I quit watching after the Bru season because I completely lost my enjoyment of the show, but a friend convinced me to revisit it a couple of months ago. I marathoned BDM until the Malia/Sandy/Hannah debacle (no fan of Hannah, but couldn't stand another episode with the other two) and then switched to the OG and just caught up. Sandy would have been fired long ago in my place of employment having violated our Respect in the Workplace policy pretty much every episode. It's horrifying how she's treating Fraser. He's a green chief stew with loads of potential, and he needs guidance and support. His management style is different than most of the chief stews we've seen - he uses positive reinforcement which has been effective in getting his team to respect him - he just needs help finding the line between friendship and leadership. Sandy undermines and belittles him in front of others, and that just feeds into his insecurities. It's really uncomfortable to watch. I would have found it far more interesting to watch him grow over the season rather than become beat down. I miss his tongue in cheek snark. I miss earlier seasons where the captain was rarely on camera - Lee's appearances back then were fun and refreshing. BDM became the Sandy show, and now it's polluted the OG. And it's never ok to call somebody a cancer.
  10. Just got through checking out the cast videos. My favourite part of BBUS and BBCAN is participating in my friend's pool . You pick 7 houseguests for your team - two are power players (earn twice the points), 3 regular, and one nemesis (earn negative points). Points are awarded (or docked) for a number of things like winning comps, saying phrases like "backdoor" or "pawn", crying in the diary room, seen eating Wendy's, nominated, wears costume etc etc. I only have 4 cast members on my "annoying as shit" list, which isn't too bad! I noticed there are an awful lot of athletic guys this season. Not sure who I'm going to pick for my teams yet - I usually submit two. Any first thoughts on who might go far and win me a lot of points?
  11. Long time lurker, first time poster. Thanks to all for keeping me up to date on live feeds! I like BBCAN much better than BBUS to be honest. The casts are typically more diverse and while there are certainly assholes, I find them more tolerable than BBUS assholes. And there's usually plenty of drama, but it tends to be less cringy than US drama. Season 1 was ok, but I probably liked 2, 3, 5 the best. 6 was pretty good too, but I think I'm in the minority. Season 8 stopped a few weeks in due to COVID, which was probably a good thing. Worst cast. I'm so done with this version of CBB - can't wait for BBCAN to start next month!
  12. Oh dear God, why did I not know that fellow Newf Daniel is writing Bachelor recaps here? I thoroughly missed him this season on TWoP. That tiny but significant hole in my heart has been filled!
