  1. My dad is originally from Ontario but moved to the States before I was born - we do go back to visit family pretty regularly and this summer we added in a visit to Algonquin Provincial Park and I had such high hopes of finally seeing a moose in person. Suffice to say that I was yelling at the TV tonight, “Are you KIDDING me? CARLY gets to see an effing moose?!?! Without even trying and I STILL haven’t?” LOL
  2. I didn’t expect to be so affected, but I kept tearing up through the whole episode. And Gary’s ‘Go Bs’ made me feel really bad about being so happy that the Bruins got knocked out of Stanley Cup contention last night.
  3. Psych did a BIG Clue tribute for their 100th episode and Christopher Lloyd was one of several from the movie cast that were in that episode. So he’s worked with James Roday Rodriguez before.
  4. Yeah, it’s like that meme that goes around Facebook every December that says something like, ‘the older I get the more I realize that the magic of Christmas was really just my mom who loved me so damn much.’
  5. Honestly, I think that’s a large part of the show’s point - there is magic in the mundane, in the ordinary, everyday moments of life. I think it’s why so many people find something to connect to in it.
  6. I read an interview with Mandy this week where she elaborated on the ‘throw up’ comment and said she doesn’t really expect anyone else to have quite that extreme a reaction; she herself is just so close to the character/story that it hit her extra hard.
  7. I just started rewatching the whole series from the beginning and they call him Grandpa in episode 2. One of the girls says “Grandma & Grandpa are here!” and then we got the reveal that it was Rebecca and Miguel, not Rebecca and Jack.
  8. I don’t know Jerrod, but he graduated from my sister’s high school a couple of years behind her (and I did know his sister-in-law, with whom I graduated from the other high school in our town) so I just love seeing someone from our little hometown making it so big in the world. I thought he did a great job on SNL and I really enjoyed The Carmichael Show when it was on too.
  9. I found the book to be a really easy read - I started it around 8 pm and finished just after midnight (but I’m a fast reader). In all honesty, I didn’t really learn anything I didn’t already know, but it was a fun read and a nice recap of the show’s history. So much has changed in the tv landscape since 2005! The most fun for me was trying to guess who had talked to the author for the book within the last year and who was just old quotes pulled from press at the time. The author said many people wouldn’t talk to her for the book because of the influence, real or perceived, of Shonda Rhimes - one straight up told her, I don’t want to piss Shonda off. And another said, it’s a fascinating story - but the full story is never going to be told. (Except, I guess maybe many years from now, after both Shonda & Ellen are no longer of this world.) The only major cast member that is confirmed as having spoken to Rice is Sarah Drew and it’s even more clear that she and JCap both were completely blindsided by their firing. Sarah also talked about how she really didn’t like the Matthew part of April’s exit but eventually found a way to accept it. It’s noted that her interview for the book was done well before she was asked back for Jesse/Jackson’s exit story but in all their press after that they both indicated that they saw April & Jackson getting back together one day. Anyway, it was an interesting read but it’s still gonna be a long time before we get the real tell all. This show and Glee are the ones I hope I see in my lifetime!
  10. I will never not be sad that the show didn’t take the 90210 route and either send them all to NYC post high school OR do a 4 year time jump after S3 and have them all end up in NYC after college/other post-HS life. To me, the ensemble of the OG kids + Sam & Blaine and the chemistry the cast had together was the best part of the show
  11. I live in-between 2 of the larger cities in North Carolina and I know several British people, including 1 who’s been my co-worker for over 10 years. And I grew up going to and then working at a summer camp about an hour away that had several international staff members working there every summer through an organization called Camp Counselors USA. Basically it allows college kids a way to get a visa for the summer.- the ones I worked with would take local trips on our days off and they usually could stay in the US for another month or so after camp ended and they’d sightsee in whatever other place they wanted to visit (most commonly NYC). I have friends from England, Australia, New Zealand and other countries because of this program. Even just standing in line for a ride at Disney World a few years ago, we ended up chatting with the British family in line in front of us. I kind of can’t seem to not run into British people, LOL!
  12. A mausoleum? I have four family members in a cemetery a few towns away, and they are all in the mausoleum buildings. There are spaces for single caskets, or larger spaces for couples/family plots, and also smaller spaces for urns. Columbarium. Like a mausoleum but only has small compartments for urns, no spaces big enough for a whole casket. My grandmother and her second husband are in one. (Her first husband, my grandfather, was scattered in a river, per his wishes.)
  13. I kept wondering about her too, because I took the NBC Studios tour at 30 Rock this past spring and when looking at 8H, they specifically mentioned that the floor seats usually go to friends and family of the cast/musical guest/host, so they can be assured it’s not just fans who might flip out and rush the stage or something.
  14. I think you have to go to court to get one and have a judge sign off, and then it has to be officially served on the person to go into effect. I would think Own deserves a chance to defend himself about whether it is needed, especially since Tom is his boss. And I say that is someone who hates Owen. In my state, you go to the county Sheriff to file the order, the Sheriff then serves the defendant. It is effective immediately, but is also temporary. A hearing is scheduled for 10 days from the date of the filing, at which both sides present their case and a judge decides if it will stay in effect. I would guess that the process is at least somewhat similar in other states.
  15. I read an interview with, I think, Adam Pascal once (or might have been Anthony Rapp), but he talked about how people complain about Mimi coming back to life at the end and he said he always looked at it as she was clearly at death's door and might have had that momentary 'surge' but that she was probably gone within a few days of that event.
