  1. Well, I'm sure that is exactly how they operate, to reel people in. Then the most vulnerable and impressionable slowly get dragged into the full on craziness of the cult. Cults rarely present themselves as what they are. I've been listening to Michael Rosenbaum's podcast off and on, and kept hoping he would eventually have Allison on, but now, that seems... unlikely, for some reason. His interviews can get personal, but they are not at all hard hitting (he is not a journalist, after all, just a guy who likes to talk about life with friends of his) but I guess it would be hard to skirt this issue altogether.
  2. Oh my god, I feel you so much. I heard about all this 2 or 3 weeks ago, and the news has gutted me in a way I'm still struggling to understand. I'm truly, deeply disappointed and saddened. I always loved Chloe, and in no small part due to Allison's performance. She seemed like such a sweet, earnest young woman, and it seems like everyone she worked with had nothing but good things to say about her. Goes to show you should never confuse a character with an actor, because no way would Chloe ever have fallen in with such a toxic person as that Raniere creep. I'm assuming this is also not easy on Kristin, who managed to get away, to know she introduced Allison to this group (that's what I heard anyway). To be clear, I don't blame KK one bit, she got out of the cult once she realised how shady the whole movement was... Not her fault that Allison happened to drink the Cool-Aid to a much higher degree... But I'm sure it can't be easy to feel like you unknowingly introduced your friend to the people who would be her downfall, so to speak.
  3. Ha! Good point. And said pecker was probably also quite... woody
  4. Does anyone think there might be some symbolism (or at least a joke that I’m not getting) in the fact that it was always Woody Woodpecker cartoons playing on Laura’s TV when she came home at night? I assume that she left the TV on to give the impression to potential thieves that there was someone inside, but why specifically show Woody Woodpecker over and over again ? (at least as far as I remember… I may be wrong. Wine was involved when I watched the episode)
  5. Ha... I thought it might be that, but I wasn't sure... I thought Piper's looked greasier after that, but it may have just been me. I watch this show on my phone, which probably doesn't help. Thank you!
  6. Me too, Armchair Critic! Are we supposed to know or understand what Piper did for the woman (sorry, not good with the names yet) who was getting her hair done to get the shea butter she needed? We saw both Piper and her walk out after the "deal", but I really don't get what could have happened between the two.
  7. To be fair, though, I'm pretty sure that God can conceal his identity in front of even the most powerful angels if he feels like it.... SueB, I truly love your analysis, but I'm not quite sure I have enough faith in the writers to pull this off. I hope I'm wrong, though, because that is Machiavellic enough to make for a great finally.
  8. THANK YOU! When Chuck said that he couldn’t find Amara because she had warded herself against him, I actually had to pause the show to rant at my husband about shoddy writing and massive plotholes. Amara has been trying to get God’s attention, to get him to show himself several times over the course of the season. She’s flat out said so herself more than once, IIRC! What’s interesting is that I immediately dismissed it as the writers screwing up big time, but I really like your alternate theory, MysteryGuest: Chuck’s is a lying liar who lies. Question is, why?
  9. This question may belong in the all season thread, but I feel it borders on spoilery, so I felt safer asking here : We the fans have some evidence that Chuck is God, or at least we have seen enough to make this a very popular speculation. But do Sam and Dean have any inkling that Chuck was anything more than a “prophet”? I feel like they have no clue, but my memory of the last few seasons is too fuzzy for me to be certain.
  10. Possibly OT, but… I’ve noticed in Melissa’s segments something I have seen a lot on this show (and other shows featuring families on TLC, to be honest) that they were using paper plates to eat at home. What is up with that? In Melissa’s specific case, with 5 kids and a useless husband who probably doesn’t even help dry the dishes (although the niece and nephew were certainly old enough to be asked to lend a hand with such a simple task), I can sorta see trying to save yourself some work. But her’s is by no means the only family I’ve seen do this on this show. In most other case, it truly baffles me. And I say this as someone who despises doing the dishes. Do these people just not even give a little bit of a damn about the environment?
  11. Thanks catrox14 and Diane! I'm a long time lurker, and a TWoP transplant :)
  12. I tried going on the CW website to see when the show returns, but apparently I'm not privvy to that information because of my location. I don't want to venture in the Spoiler thread to see if the info has been posted there, so can someone help me out? When are the boys returning to our screens?
  13. Oh, I hear you! I love coming here to (til today) lurk and read the discussions and analysis of the show from the posters. I have no close friends to talk about the show with, so yay Internet for that! I meant more how do you get to the point you feel it’s okay to harass the actors’ S.O. on Twitter (the insane stuff I’ve seen on Danneel’s feed is just embarrassing for the fandom)? Hate Castiel all you want, but how do you get to the point where that transfers to hating Misha, as if he was the one who wrote his character into the show or had any input into who he interacts with, for how long and at what point? As another poster remarked above, some of the fans seem to have a really hard time distinguishing the difference between the show and real life. I’m just wondering if getting a glimpse into the stars' personal life on social media has played a hand in heightening that issue.
  14. So what, Misha is now the bearer of all the hate and vitriol that was once directed at Jared and Jensen's wives? Oy to vey, I don't understand these people. Has social media made rabid fans more rabid, or just more entitled, you think?
