  1. The cathedral seats 900. So much for an intimate wedding. Or breaking Duggar tradition. The only thing is that most colleges/universities do not allow you to bring in your own food to events like this...you have to have it catered through their food service at very expensive prices. So most likely no parking lot reception. Unless Jim Bob fenangled something...
  2. Omg THIS ☝?️☝?️☝?️ I'm serious...this is the funniest thing I've read in a LONG TIME. Thank you from the dark pit of my snarky soul.
  3. I read somewhere (maybe here? Or FJ?) an account by a guy who attended one of those marriage retreats that JB and Michelle went to. Supposedly Smuggar and Anna were there, too, along with Joy and another J-son (who were weekend volunteers). The guy said that Anna spent a lot of time alone, walking, or with Joy. He said he saw her several times and she was crying or looked as if she had just finished crying. So if this account is true, I think I may believe the divorce report just a little. It may be 20% truth and 80% wishful thinking, but still.
  4. If it's going to be a Duggar-style wedding, I'm sure there will be an after-party at the compound. Complete with bouncy house, kids' games and BBQ, all organized by Janarella. I'm still hopeful for a more formal (smaller) wedding for Jinger and Jeremy. More akin to what he (and his family) are used to.
  5. Agador Spartacus explains it simply in The Birdcage.
  6. I agree. It doesn't take much to frame and drywall a dividing wall. There is already a bathroom or two in each dorm room, so there is the possibility for four really nice bedrooms with full baths for each. I believe that the HEY HEY HEY suite has a bathroom, as well. Add Grandma Duggar's room behind the laundry room and there could be a full six bedrooms (if not more). But I don't see this house selling if it were ever put up on the market. Way too custom and big for a single, normally sized family. Even with alterations. I think JB and Michelle will keep it until they pass (unless they go bankrupt) and it will move on to the kids to fight over.
  7. I now have a vision of Twister, Duggar style. Everyone has their own board to play on (can't take the risk of accidentally touching someone) and there is no bending over for fear of accidentally defrauding someone. "Left foot green...right foot blue. Left foot red, right foot green. Right foot..."
  8. just a thought, but maybe the Bateses weren't invited and the whole work excuse is just that...an excuse? Saying they weren't invited to the fundie social event of the year would not be something they would actively promote on social media. And if the rumors are true, the guest list will be much smaller than Jessa or Jill's. So if the list was whittled down, the family would take priority.
  9. If they go back to DA, he will attend the Duggar Academy branch campus. If they choose to stay in Arkansas, I'm hoping that Derek will put his foot down and opt for education that does not happen around the dining room table. Israel deserves so much more.
  10. Two trains of thought here. First, the football pic could've been from any game, any week. It didn't have to be from that week's game. Second, I think that Jinger and Jessa are close enough that they would enjoy sharing an Anniversary.
  11. Watching this week's retrospective. Jim Bob has an APPLICATION that potential suitors need to fill out?!?! What the CRAP?!? This is WAY too intrusive. I bet most of the stuff on there is intrusive as heck.
  12. Those pictures are just sad. I'm CERTAIN that the baby was NOT comfortable with his little tender head resting up against the hard metal dump truck! For the love of Pete, this baby should have been photographed in a comfy onesie with a cute design, not freaking khakis, a button down shirt and a sweater vest!!!!!!! I can't even imagine how hot that poor baby was...don't they live in Texas these days? It's in the mid to upper 80s there this week. And I'm sure it's been a similar temperature over the past week or so. The poor kid is overheated, uncomfortable and not wanting to be there! I wonder who took the pics? IMHO they just SCREAM Jinger. Remember spurge in the netting and xmas lights? ?
  13. He wasn't entirely Gothard when they first met, but he is JB-approved (so he MUST ascribe to the teachings enough to pass muster) and has since at least sipped the kool aid. Of the two sons-in-law, I honestly think Ben is the least Gothard.
  14. For as much as they show pictures of Izzy with the other kids in CA, the whole idea of Gothardism promotes separatism. If you aren't "Gothard anointed" then you aren't truly worthy. Because those of us who do not drink the kook aid are heathen, evil, sex-obsessed demons, not to be considered except when it's time to ask for donations or gifts. So while Izzy may play with the other kids on the periphery, if they stay in CA I would bet he won't be forming any close friendships with anyone who is not Gothard. Hence, the need for brothers and sisters. Ready-made friends who are Gothard-approved. Problem solved.
  15. Most likely these are the Aldi brand of cones. They would never buy name-brand food for the kids. Reason, Drumsticks are hella expensive. $6-8 vs. $2-3 for the Aldi brand. If not, they may ALL be in for squishy poop. Not just Josie. Just wondering if I missed something...what is the obsession with ice cream? It's good and all, but it seems like every pic they post of the kids includes ice cream. ?
  16. OK, so she is wearing the ring. Which means that she has taken at LEAST one other trip to see Babe since the "dirty shoes" visit. I can't tell if there is another ring on her finger, though. A wedding band... Wedding prediction: Early December. And I'm sticking with that. Jill and Derek will slog off into the CA sunset the day after the wedding (or the evening of...imagine the stress level...the unbridled DRAMA of having to leave on time to get to the airport to catch their flight immediately after the ceremony!) I believe someone previously stated that they wouldn't have to be back to CA until somewhere around 12/8? December 4 is a Saturday. I think that's the "big day". That would give Jill and Derek four days to rush home from NYC/NJ to pack up and catch a plane to CA.
  17. They may not even post a registry at all. Seeing as the wedding date is ultra top secret and they can't let THAT cat out of the bag. ? Honestly I'd rather have $$$ than 500 sets of towels. That way Cringe can go out and buy all the thrift store silk flowers her little heart desires. I got married 18 years ago and did not have a registry. Any gifts we received were pretty generic and many opted for monetary gifts instead. It worked just fine.
  18. Many MANY thanks to your sister for her service! You are right, they don't believe the rules apply to them. They never did! For example, I wonder if their house is considered a "dormitory" for occupancy reasons. The laws in my state (and many others) say that you can only legally have two people in each bedroom, unless the building is classified as a "dormitory". The girls' and boys' bedrooms in the TTH are technically two rooms, regardless of their size. So there SHOULD only be two people inhabiting each room. I'm not sure who is actually living there these days, but there have to be at LEAST 12 boys and 10 girls sharing those two rooms.
  19. Nice product placement there, Michelle. Your IG post was a commercial. The only thing missing was, "Try the chicken! It's GREAT! Half-price meals for kids on Tuesdays!" By the way, national Take Your Parents to Lunch Day is for elementary school students to "take their parents to lunch" at their school cafeteria. Here's a web link just in case you'd like to see what it's all about... http://www.kiwimagonline.com/lunchday "National Take Your Parents to Lunch Day Will Be Held October 12, 2016! What is National Take Your Parents to Lunch Day? National Take Your Parents to Lunch Day is an event that takes place each October. Parents visit their children’s school and have lunch with them in the cafeteria. The goal is to learn more about what goes into putting together a healthy lunch, and for parents and school officials to open the lines of communication so they can work together to provide kids with the healthiest meals possible." Wow. Just wow.
  20. This is probably a pic from when they all traveled to Texas that one weekend...the weekend where Jim Bob made the comment about Jeremy getting a second job to support Jinger's thrift store shopping habit and told the world that his closet smelled of "dirty shoes". SMH. I still think the wedding will take place in NYC or NJ, but it won't be until maybe late November/early December. I think that the reason for secrecy is twofold--first, to give People exclusive rights to the breaking story and second, to dissuade any of their fundie friends from inviting themselves to the ceremony. From what I've seen on TV this season, I feel as if Jinger is distancing herself a bit more from the ultra-fundie folks and bringing herself a bit closer to fundie lite. Her wearing "board shorts" to go canoeing in the last episode is one of the indicators for me. I've seen this family wear skirts for the most awkward of situations (often with leggings or yoga pants underneath) and they claim it never hindered their participation. Now, all of a sudden, it's acceptable for them to wear "board shorts" for activities such as swimming or boating. What happened to their mandated modesty suits? I feel like their abandoning the ugly swimming dresses is a combination of their pulling away and an FU Internetz moment.
  21. I'm thinking this was Ben's influence. Although he is young, he does seem to have a smidgeon of common sense. Or maybe Spurge kept getting into the ashes and making a royal mess. Perfect way to keep that from happening! Im just hoping they have a good, solid screen to put up around the stove when it's in use. Or, maybe, they won't use it this winter at all! Ohhhhhh the momdar goes off with this...and the sharp edges on the concrete pad underneath.
  22. Geeze. I finally suffered through last week's "episode". What the HELL was THAT?!?!? It screamed "here we are, fundy ladies!!!" It was like a REALLY bad dating video for a Christian dating site mixed with the vignettes done in the earlier days for the kids. It was AWFUL! I wound up fast forwarding through 90% of it and stopping only to watch the few bits there were of JinJer. Good LORD that was BAD! If I were one of the boys, I would've felt humiliated and used. That was a half hour of my life I will never get back.
