This reminds me a bit of Gene Tierney. She also had a mental breakdown (not quite as public). Granted, in her case, she started her career as an adult and had a choice. But her father stole from her and she suffered a lot of tragedy before her breakdown. Her therapist once told her that some people have an odd twist in their brains. If triggered by life situations and stress, it can cause all kinds of problems. But, people with that twist are particularly vulnerable. She felt if she had just had a normal, quiet life, she would never have been triggered.

This was the 1950s, so no clue if that theory is still around, but the Britney situation reminds me of that story.

I'm not a Brittany fan and I don't really feel sorry for her, but I did read about Gene Tierney and yes she had a mental breakdown.  Studios back then didn't give a crap about their stars.   July Garland comes to mind and many others.... everyone controlled absolutely everything about her life.   From who she dated, married, gave her drugs to sleep, to look alert.... such a sad life she had.

There are no episodes that are banned; it’s just that they’re not able to clear all of the elements for streaming, such as songs. If you watch on MeTV or Catchy Comedy, they have all the episodes.

    Gotcha.  Thank you.

  3. Late to the party here.  Not sure I understand, why are some episodes banned?   Am I missing something?    I must admit, I liked the Davey Jones episode.  Also the Silver Platter, and the singing group episodes are not shown

  4. Actually binged-watched the entire series today.  Surprisingly, I liked it.  Im 56 and I admit I neither like or dislike him.  I was never into body building (his body was sick - in a good way) and his movies weren't my thing back in the day, BUT I admire anyone who had the self discipline and worked hard to make something of himself.   He definitely is not a stupid guy.  He did not have a happy childhood and was physically abused. I think he was/is cocky and arrogant but he came to new country, educated himself and became governor of CA!    He really embarrassed his wife and children, but seems to regret that immensely.  But I agree with the post above, he seems to lack empathy and can easily block things out.

  5. I love the BB and have watched it since I was a kid and still watch on Pluto at 56 when I want mindless tv background noise.  One of the worse   episodes (IMO) was the second part of the Hawaii trip.  When the boys were in the cave "tied up" by Vincent Price.  They really jumped the shark(as they say) at that point.   It was ridiculous.  I can't roll my eyes that far back.

  6. I have a comment.  On the episode "The Burnout" when the house burns down, I never understood why they didn't sleep in the shed.    It was used for various visitors and from what I recall had a bed.    They could have put the kids in their on the floor so no one would be separated.  John boy could have stayed in there, the grandparents.   It's never made sense to me.   Just my thoughts.  It was on last week and I thought of it again.

  7. I started watching the series, not quite done.    One of my favorite movies was "From The Terrace" with both Paul and Joanne.   Seriously the sexual lusting in that movie between them...my goodness.

I thought she was the better actor though.   Most of her movies were great.  She was attractive, but not "a beauty".   He on the other hand was gorgeous.   Those eyes!!!

  8. I saw it Friday on Prime Video.  It was very good.  Again, as some of you stated, even though I knew the outcome, I was on the edge of my seat.  Anything Ron Howard does is great!

I suppose you could just fanwank and say she bought new records of her favorites again at some point.  They wouldn't be expensive or hard to replace.

Probably,    I love albums.   I had a ton, but when I had a bitter breakup they were in the attic and  I couldn't retrieve them.   That's when cds started.     But there's nothing like an album.

  10. Just to nitpick here.  How would all of her albums survived the fire.  Didn't the house burn down?

The soundtrack of songs is what makes every single episode for me since season one.   Whoever is in charge of music needs a Grammy.    I'm 54 and I start crying when the songs start.   They need to come out and sell the soundtrack.

  11. Loved this episode!!

Randall is going to try and take over next week.    Who didn't know that was going to happen.   Of course we all know from flash forward that won't happen.

  12. I was very excited to finally get to this new episode of the last season, but to be honest I was very disappointed.    I'm not even sure why I was disappointed.  It was a meh for me.    Hopefully next week will be better.
