  1. And Pete Holmes is 6'6", while Melissa is 4'11". I've seen photos of Melissa and her husband. He doesn't seem crazy tall next to her, (maybe because she's wearing heels in the photos), but Pete Holmes does, at least to me.
  2. Same here. I think they could have picked a million other men that would be more believable as her love interest and in a word just funnier. This guy is a little bland. Even Howard on BBT was more believable, LOL. And not that very short women don't pair up with very tall men but I'm just a little tired of it on fictional shows where they could pick anyone. In real life that probably doesn't happen too often. They once paired a very short woman with a basketball player on "Married at First Sight" and although the relationship failed for other reasons I don't think the insane height difference helped!
  3. It's a combination of her being lazy with it being doubly difficult for her to look presentable because of her size. She doesn't have the talent or the drive to do it on any kind of regular basis. I can just imagine how hot she must feel in the NC heat and humidity in the Summer. That can't help. I think the clothes are making her look bigger. Black spandex minimizes while all those bright splashy prints maximize. Alex Guarnaschelli, a well known TV chef on the Food Network is also being featured in a Walmart ad for food and they didn't mention her name either.
  4. Another person here that once liked Brooke but has cooled on her in recent years. Something about her attitude has changed. She seems to think she's all that and like @mlp said, there's smugness about her now. I think she has become a little stuck on herself. Also, I keep hearing people say she does too much botox and fillers and it has altered her appearance for the worse.
  5. I think both men are attractive but Max is more attractive than Oscar. I think Max is a little out of Mayim's league, but not by so much it looks unrealistic.
  6. Did Lindsey prevent him from ordering? Mark is in his late 30's, he's capable of ordering for himself. He knows how to look at a menu and find cooked food on it, I'm sure. She's not his mommy. Besides, the producers probably made them order that.
  7. I agree. Him mentioning the loss of his taste and smell doesn't mean he also didn't tell them he'd had Covid. Also, since he mentioned it in a talking head, depending on when they film those at least the show producers, etc. would have to know. I doubt the camera people would allow that to go by without saying something. And I don't think he would have mentioned it to the camera at all if he hadn't already told someone about it. I don't see anything "dickish" about what he's doing so far. It's a competition and he wants to prove himself first so that people don't prejudge his ability based on what is actually a disability. If he can do well in spite of that they won't assume that he's going to fail because of it when he eventually reveals it. If he never reveals it I might reconsider that. In the end if he goes home it's going to be based on HIS performance. Even in the team challenges they are judged individually. He benefited from that in this episode but he might not have that advantage in a non-team challenge. I have watched cooking challenges with disabled people before. Even a blind chef can win MasterChef and this guy knows what things taste like so he has some memory of that. I feel sympathy for him because he's lost an essential sense for his profession. But of course the show is trying to make us see him as a "dick". I am sure the camera people put that word in his mouth. They must have said, "Don't you think that makes you a dick?" Whatever, show. I am done with this show doing its best to make every white American guy look like one. It's happened now too many times for me to think it's just coincidence. Meanwhile Gabe Erales' win is upheld despite the allegations against him and the show gets all mealy mouthed not to criticize him because he's a Hispanic immigrant.
  8. I agree with you that Mark's style of communicating is very different from Lindsey's but I still think he's a wimp. It's not just that he doesn't handle conversations and disagreements the way she does, he just doesn't want to handle them at all. He wants to avoid confrontation and people not liking him. Lindsey does not avoid those things. She is a straight shooter and can be too direct and cruel. He is just the opposite. He wants to smooth everything over and not have to come out taking a stand on something if it means other people might not like him. He will throw Lindsey under the bus and not defend her in order to achieve that, which is in my opinion wimping out. It's nice to be a sensitive person but he needs to put his big boy pants on and grow a spine when the situation calls for it, too. He had no problem growing a spine and complaining to Lindsey about her comment which is ironic because she has busted her back for him already while he's just afraid of Katina so it's easy for him to take it out on Lindsey instead of the person responsible. No matter what Lindsey's role was in what happened before this she definitely didn't deserve having snide faces made when she was talking to the group. I think Lindsey deserves to be able to say something in response to Katina's snide faces and I think he should have supported her on that. I've read online that he's actually from Quincy.
  9. For the most part parenting makes a huge difference in how a child turns out, but not in all cases. There are children that defy all odds and become decent people after being raised by wolves, and there are children that are raised by good, kind people that grow up to be horrible people. I don't think we'll ever know the true story about Alyssa. Her mother may be nice and kind, but may be screwed up in ways that are easy to hide on camera. All the psych. literature I have read says that narcissists and spoiled brats are made, not born. Even well-intended parents can raise a spoiled brat narcissist. Too much "niceness" is not good for a child. If in trying to be good to the child the parent over compliments them into thinking they are perfect and gives them everything they want without any question they don't also grow up to be nice people. Parents have to know when to compliment and when to challenge to create nice people. Alyssa's mother seems like a misguided nice person who thought that she should never criticize or say no to her daughter. Unfortunately she created a monster. I'll bet that even after all Alyssa did and said on the show her mother won't ever tell her straight out that she may have made a mistake. That's why Alyssa grew up thinking she could never be wrong.
  10. OK, now this makes more sense. Thanks, I remember that and that's where I got the idea that he didn't have the dog just yet. It's possible that I didn't hear his dialogue with Alyssa after the wedding where he said he actually got the dog.
  11. Yes, that's him! His photo on Linkedin is the same as on the Compass site. His Linkedin says he was previously with the PD in North Providence, RI. Good catch! https://www.linkedin.com/in/nicholas-gannon-b605501a3/
  12. I found this on the contact page of the website: "Christopher Group is a team of real estate agents affiliated with Compass. Compass Massachusetts, LLC d/b/a Compass is a licensed real estate broker and abides by equal housing opportunity laws." Yeah, Compass has groups of realtors that work together as a team. Alyssa should be so lucky to meet a guy that makes as much as he probably does! No offense to used car salesmen but he probably makes 10x what they do.....
  13. He's with Compass Realty. They were my realtors. I think he heads up a group within the company, that's my take on it. It's not his own agency but being the head of a group within Compass is not small potatoes either. What an asshole Alyssa is.
  14. I think it looks that way but the truth is that the show and in this case Keisha, is trying to manipulate him into revealing more about that situation than he wants to or thinks is appropriate. And they're succeeding! The questions are asked in such a way that he probably felt pressured to explain things or else it would it look bad and in the process he revealed too much.
  15. I've read she's a nurse so she's definitely the care giving type but it looks like she's turned Mark into a project. It's a fine line between wanting to "help" someone and treating them like they need a keeper and are not able to manage their own lives. I think she's crossed the line with him into insulting him. Men don't want another mother telling them what to do, especially an overbearing one, and especially if they had issues with their real mother like Mark does. Lindsay would do better to adopt the "I'm on team Mark" attitude where she is ready, willing, and able to support him however he needs her, but to let him take the lead on how. Only make suggestions here and there when appropriate and sparingly. I've been married a long time too and my husband wouldn't put up with me if I were anything like her either!
  16. Did he? How could he have said he was going to rescue a dog after the wedding but had the dog before the show? I remember him telling Alyssa either at the wedding or soon after that he was thinking about getting a dog soon, but that was after the show already started. I'm confused!
  17. There used to be a thread on TWOP but after that shut down there was never a thread started here. I think by that time people were all snarked out about her. In my area her show used to be on another channel but was moved this season. The ratings certainly aren't what they used to be but somehow she still gets renewed. The at-home format is really getting boring now. She pads out the show with fluff like a regular salesperson hawking online merchandise, and at the end recaps of what happened in the episode. She recorded relatively few episodes in the studio. I don't get that - she promised that the season would be "split" between at home and studio episodes. She takes her vacation in the warm weather but that's when it would be most safe to record the show in-studio because of low covid numbers. I would think she'd put a priority on that.
  18. My impression, and I'm pretty sure the one Mark was trying to put forward, was that it depended on whether you considered one of those 3 times to have taken place on the same day as the other two times. From that I got the impression that the 1/2 sexual encounter probably happened in the middle of the night so he was having trouble deciding whether it took place it on the same day as the other two times. And that's why he called it a "half". But actually it would make more sense if he meant that masturbating was the half encounter since she was involved in it but not him. I don't know if even he knows what he's trying to say. It sounds to me like he's trying too hard to be vague and making up cover stories for what really happened just to answer the question. Has he really insulted the landlord? Unless I've missed something he's only pretty much stuck to the facts of the situation such as her texting him, and removing the furniture. Otherwise I haven't seen any insults. I think he has tried very hard not to say what he really thinks about her and that may be why he didn't want Keisha to ask too many questions about it since it put him in an uncomfortable situation.
  19. I thought he told Cal that they did it on the wedding night and again on first honeymoon night Thank you I thought it was just me who thought that, but maybe he just admitted to foreplay, not everything. Something about the way they're acting about this makes me think they're having sex and trying to cover it up. Katina wasn't very forthcoming with any details about it and the looks on both their faces when this subject is brought up make me think they're hiding something.
  20. All the cringeworthy, TMI stuff they say about each other to get back at each other is not a good sign. We know that Lindsey has no filter but it looks like Mark is trying to give her a taste of her own medicine by mentioning her "taking care of herself". Way to bring the worst out in each other! I think Mark feels like he's on a roller coaster with her. He has had his own problems to deal with this early in the relationship but I don't know how much better he'd be doing if those things weren't a factor. I noticed that he didn't want Keisha to probe too much about the landlord situation. I get the feeling there's more to that story he doesn't want known. He could be doing that for the landlady's sake or because it's not flattering to him. I wonder if we'll find out more about that in future episodes.
  21. I don't think the show should have paired Kat off so soon. One of the funny aspects of the original was that Miranda was single and all the hi jinx she got into when either meeting men or trying to meet them. And the Max character was always there as a friend so we could wonder if they would ever get together in the end. It was dumb of them to pair her off so fast and then have Max dangling like a character in search of a plot and a relationship. Nothing against Oscar, but their relationship is kind of surface and boring in my opinion.
  22. The story was told on the After Party, formerly "Unfiltered".
  23. This was my experience too (dinosaurs and all). It was a good mix of nerds from all walks of life. I hope Mark finds a good non-Conner mentor to guide him through the next few years. He's a pretty cool kid and deserves to be around someone capable of making at least one good decision. Bx HS of Science grad. here - Same for me with dinosaurs too. And yes to there being some rich kids but the vast majority being of humbler means, me included. The rich always were able to send their kids to Dalton and Horace Mann, even back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth.
  24. No this was way before he got married so it's someone else's mother and her daughter. Personally I think it's skeevy even if he had sex with them at different times. And I'm not so sure he's grown up all that much since then despite what he says about himself.
