  1. I agree and have been thinking this since the Las Vegas show began. Aubrey should work for Mattel designing Barbie Doll houses. She could remain true to her little girl inner child idea of what is glamorous. All that purple, pink and teal, and chintzy bling... the young girls would love it. I don’t dislike Aubrey and Bristol, (well, except for her voice,) and it’s fun to tune in to see what crazy design she’ll come up.
  2. I thought the whole sleeveless (no matter what the temperature or season) look started and came in with Michelle Obama. I was hoping it would go out with her, too. I don’t have anything against women wearing sleeveless clothing, I just think during colder temperatures, they can find attractive clothing more appropriate for the season.
  3. I'm still tuning into this show but it doesn't hold my attention, so... were Ashlee and Yolanda telling the truth about the other moms wanting to get rid of Camille and Camryn? Not that I care about Camryn or Camille, I really don't. They are the least featured mother and daughter on the show. Both seem boring... nothing to love or hate.
  4. I had the show on, but only bits and pieces held my attention. Abby, alone, is not all that interesting and neither is her life. She has an immaturity and a vulnerability about her. We've seen her immaturity again and again, with her lack of self control. Lashing out at people, and especially children, is not a sign of strength, it's a sign one has lost control over their own emotions. And we saw her immaturity again last night by her refusal to fully accept responsibility for her choices and actions. In this particular case, she accepts her punishment... she'll do her time and be done with it, (she has no other choice) but she has not accepted responsibility. As for her vulnerability, it might be the one thing that keeps her somewhat likable. However, she's vulnerable because she's so immature. She simply has not figured out that a relationship is more than just how SHE feels about someone, it's more importantly, about how she makes THEM feel. She can love this person or that student, etc., but if they don't know they're loved, if they don't feel loved, it's really doesn't matter. I think this is quite evident by her lack of long lasting serious relationships. It seems to me, that she is lonely, and filled with sadness but can not connect it to her own behavior. I hope she will one day learn, but sadly, I feel that won't be the case. She'll be back, she'll try to stay current and keep relevant, probably somehow try to use all this to her advantage, and a few people may take notice for awhile, but she won't have changed or learned anything.
  5. I hope she's issued a pillow for her tears.
  6. *Yawn* Well, I see nothing has changed. Kira can be the meanest, most hateful mom, but what you see with her is what you get. Unlike Jill, who THINKS she is pulling one over on everyone by cleverly disguising her real motives under the guise of all that is "fair and just" for the children and all mankind. She's shallow, superficial, and transparent. And... she's far too arrogant to recognize how ignorant she truly is. Abby has always been her own worst enemy. I fear she will never learn. Anyone on this show, calling anyone else on this show, a fame whore... now that's just silly.

  8. I'd like to think Chloe is returning for one reason... Obviously, I don't know the reason behind the decision to return to the show but I'm hoping it was Chloe's choice, not her mother's, and I hope it's not just for fame and exposure. Chloe was on the first four seasons, from ages 10-13, and leaving the show was the right decision at the time. Now, at nearly 16 years old, when offered the opportunity to return, I'm hoping Chloe, after giving it much thought, saw it as an opportunity to show everyone, especially "Miss Abby," what a strong, mature young woman she has become, and how she wouldn't be beaten down by a bully in position of authority. Coming back, bigger, better and stronger, should be empowering to Chloe. *I realize as I now write this, it's been announced Abby won't be returning, but when I first heard Chloe would be making an appearance, I thought it could be healthy for her to confront her tormentor.
  9. My favorite is when a mother asks her young daughter what she thinks of the kitchen, (usually white and gray) and the child replies, "These colors really make it pop!" Or when a 10 year old boy says... "I like how they carried the same tile and counters from the kitchen and the fireplace into this master bath."
  10. Finally a dance (end of the group dance) with what Kendall does best... moves in slow motion.
  11. I'm confused... had the 2nd season started? I can't wait to watch, (I'm an adoptee) but I keep seeing it advertised to start Feb 12.
  12. Thirty Two minutes past the hour and, well... who cares? Seriously, same old storyline. Where's the tension, where's the anticipation, where's the suspense? Abby already said, in an earlier episode, she wants to see it through to the finish with the original girls. *On the edge of my seat* Oh my, who will she choose?
  13. I would most like to see the older girls choreograph their own solo or even a group number. I think it would be very telling as I'm sure they would choose a song they love, a genre they feel they are successful at performing and a costume they feel they look good in, and therefor, confident wearing. It would also be interesting to see what the mothers would come up with to complain about since it was their daughter's choice, but I'm sure they'd find something. For evaluations, I imagine Abby having a private conference with each girl and their Mom in her office, and going over a written evaluation/report card. Of course, the Mom would totally disagree with any constructive criticism. Later, the mothers would have a bitch-fest when comparing the girls' report cards... Holly would try to sound intelligent while remaining delusional, Kira wouldn't even have Kalani's report card to refer to because she would have already shredded it in Abby's face at the conference, and while Jill reads Kendall's report card out loud, Ashlee would agree with any negative comment Abby made about Kendall. Naturally, Jill and Kendall would storm out of the studio, mad at both Abby and Ashlee. LOL
  14. It is stale, but there was so much more they could have been doing with this show. From what I've read here and various other places, the majority of viewers claim to tune in to see the dancers dance. I realize the show is titled Dance Moms but what do they actually do? The Moms sit, bitch, complain, fight, and make fools of themselves. This is what the script requires of them. Their roles are simple, really and I guess I could say, they play their parts well. However, since the Moms aren't picky about what they bitch about... Abby, the girls, each other, the genre, the costumes, the choreography, getting a lead, not getting a lead, lack of solo's, other schools and teachers, etc., TPTB could have changed things up from time to time to keep the show fresh, and the "stars" of the show would have still been able to fulfill their duties since the Moms freely bitch about anything and everything, anyway. A few ideas... (Just little clips and segments, not entire episodes) I think it would have been interesting to see each of the older girls get a chance to choreograph one of their own dance solos, and choose their own music and costume. Or, choreograph a dance for a mini. Have Abby do an honest evaluation of each of the girls, and sit down with them and go over their strength and weakness. Discuss realistic goals and what they need to do to achieve them. Bring in more guest choreographers! And give the girls age appropriate choreography. Prepare and send the girls on specific auditions. Bring in new dancers, (without forcing them down the viewers throats.) Introduce them slowly and see how they fit in. Find new studios to compete against. It gives the viewers new talent to watch. Have an entire episode or a special each season of just the girls dancing. I realize ballet might not be their thing, so maybe not the Nutcracker but my girls' dance company did the Nativity every year, another local company puts on a Rudolph show each year. Even a recital would have been nice as long as it gave us a break from all the drama, yelling and anger. Get rid of Jill and Kendall's storyline! Just get rid of Jill and Kendall. Put some fun in each episode, even if they have to fake it like they do everything else. The show isn't fun to watch. Like I said, I know it's "Dance Moms," and they seemed to focus on what created the most buzz... the OUTRAGEOUS behavior of the adults, but I do believe what kept the viewers tuning in week after week, was to see the girls and watch them dance. If they had focused on keeping the storylines fresh, (scripted or not) with fresh choreography, the Moms would still find plenty to bitch and fight about, and they may have been able to keep the show going awhile longer.
  15. I noticed these comments from Taylor, too. While they weren't horrible, I didn't find it cute, either. I agree, she had to be picking up on this attitude towards her father from somewhere. This wasn't a big deal but one comment I remember was along the lines of... "You didn't nail it but it's okay," while checking out a newly finished flip.
  16. My image lasted much longer, lol... until I saw your response! I was thinking, Tarek doing flips, I thought he had back surgery.
  17. I see Cathy and some of her shenanigans as pure silliness. Not the taunting of Abby's weight or mocking of appearances, that's cruel and immature, (although Cathy's not the only one guilty of that) but things like, I'm baaack, and showing up with a broom, and such, while definitely lame, seem like an attempt to introduce a little fun into a show where no one seems to be having any fun anymore. Regarding the jail cell comments - obviously, Cathy didn't bring it up out of concern for Abby's well-being, but still... I don't know why real life reality wouldn't be discussed on a supposed reality show. (I get why Abby wouldn't the case.) Totally agree with you on the pairing of the dancers.
  18. Well, who would have thought it would be Cathy to bring some much needed humor (as bad and stupid as it was) to the show. I'm not a Cathy fan, but this show... the Moms, are taking themselves way too seriously, whereas I get the impression that Cathy understands she's just playing a character and she has fun with it. There was nothing new with Black Patsy and her storyline, she was over the top and uninteresting. It's all been done before, mother after mother, time and time again. Hey Holly... In a Kalani and Nia duet, if it doesn't take 1st, of course Abby will blame Nia, and it's not because Kalani is her favorite. I can't stand Jill.
  19. When they were casting this show, obviously they were looking for mothers with a dancer, or a dancer and their mother. I think when they cast the Vertes, it was Jill they wanted as one of the "dance moms" and Kendall was just the other part of the package. I think when they cast Maddie and Melissa, it was Maddie they wanted on the show, and Melissa and McKenzie were along for the ride. JMO
