  1. My dog had her 4th birthday and looked so cute I had to share. It was her 1st party with 4 people.
  2. My mother pushed an empty wheelchair through our hotel in Las Vegas instead of using her cane. It was actually less disruptive than when she used a cane. When she used a cane it became an extension of her arm when pointing to things. Walking along the crowded corridors in Las Vegas, everyone walking beside of her would be stopped suddenly by the cane blocking their path.
  3. I currently rinse twice a day with a vial of pulmicort in my Neilmed squeeze bottle. After years of chronic sinusitis and constant infections, I rarely have one anymore. I had lost my sense of smell and taste because of polyps and inflammation. I thought there would never be a solution because scientists needed to work on more important diseases. I also take OTC antihistamines and get allergy shots. But there has been a very positive impact on my life from the rinses.
  4. I've seen people in movies taping icebags to their clothes (or skin but don't recommend that) so it rested on the needed part of their body. Maybe that would work. I have quite a collection of different types in my freezer some which stick by themselves.
  5. I reread "Hawaii" by James Michener this week. I used to read it once every boring summer vacation in high school because it took a long time. That was about 58 or so years ago. Anyway I enjoyed it this time too.
  6. Oh I forgot. There is an internet site named "Stop you're killing me" that has a lot of information about different types of mysteries, what new books are being published, comparable authors and other information.
  7. I like Rhys Bowen. She had written quite a few historical series. Because I mainly buy the less expensive books to read on my Kindle I haven't read her Constable Evans mysteries because they never seem to be discounted but I started with Her Royal Spyness series which about a young woman who is 34th in line for the throne. It takes place when David is the heir to the throne. I also read her Mary Murphy books and many of her stand-alones. I loved In Fairleigh Field set during WWII. A new to me series I started is by Alice Castle (Beth Haldane mystery.) One of the things about the book that appeals to me is her use of British words that I look up although usually can tell their meaning through the context.
  8. I did that too in Downton Abbey but eventually I could forget it and like the doctor. I see actors from Highlander now and then in other roles and I enjoy that. When I watched Highlander no one else I knew watched it. I even had a calendar at work and the only time it was mentioned was when someone said Duncan had a good dancing position.
  9. I finally reset my clock to standard time and then noticed I had also reset the temperature it shows to Celsius. I might have to break out the directions but instead went with it and had a cup of English Breakfast Tea and looked upon it as a learning experience.
  10. There is a new season of most of the original cast starting yesterday. There is also supposed to be a new episode this evening. The Hailstones weren't on last night so maybe they will be on tonight.
  11. Why do they play that loud music when Ricko, his daughter, but especially me are listening for the moose we are tracking? (I know they are only playing the music for the show but I find myself straining to listen for the moose too and the music is annoying.) They also took too long to show Jessie's dog and I was worried about her but then saw her sitting in the truck.
  12. 21 Vials of Blood!! Wow. How long did it take? I once had a port to get blood when I was in the hospital and I doubt they took that much. (I loved the port because getting blood is almost always a challenge.) My husband was very impressed at 21 vials also.
  13. I'm worried about going back to the theater. I have already paid for season tickets in my small city and even for shows postponed from the last season. I am retired and really don't go out much. I've gone to grocery stores, the dog park, and doctors. Last year not even that. The theater will require vaccination proof and masks but I still am nervous about everything. Shows are supposed to start soon. There are some I don't care about that I will probably skip but some I'd like to see. Any advice?
  14. After reading this forum, I watched most of the episodes yesterday. (The news is so depressing I can't watch my usual 4 hours a day.) Anyway, I saw an commercial for (maybe) something political about affordable medicine. I thought the man in the commercial who said he had to ration his insulin was the same guy maybe in the first episode where he said his wife wouldn't eat so they could afford the right food for his diet.
  15. On Kindle Daily Deals, the Vuolo's book is $3.99. The majority of reviews are good but this is not a book for me.
  16. About 19 years ago when I was 53 I was placed in a medically induced coma for almost 3 weeks. I was diagnosed with myocarditus but now my current cardiologist says it was a stress heart attack. I was also on a ventilator and had a heart pump. I always say I had the easiest time of my whole family. I remember nothing except after I woke up and my husband was laughing at me trying to eat fruit salad because my coordination was bad and the grapes were wily in their escape efforts.. I was in the hospital for about a week more. I had some memory issues while in the hospital but recovered quickly. In the hospital I walked with a walker but didn't need one at home. I walked a lot in the hospital hallway past the nurses because I really wanted to go home since I didn't like my new roommate. I have permanent heart damage but I am still in a low normal range. I measured my physical recovery by how much of Costco I could walk without having to sit down. In the years since I have had some other medical problems but I worked part-time for about 10 years and have also done some volunteer work.
  17. This happened about 25 years ago. For work reasons I traveled with a large group of people and a few times a week we would go out to dinner together. My temporary boss liked to collect all the money and put it on his credit card. (Cash back had just come into existence.) We gave him our money and I would be sure to tell him the generous amount I was leaving for the tip. I noticed he did not leave much of a tip so I started just leaving my tip in cash at my place on the table. Then I started to stand there until everyone left the table to make sure no one took any of the money. On top of that he wasn't a very good boss or worker. This went on for close to a year.
  18. Could the seven plots of land be the 4 in the development, one with Christine's house on it, one with Robin's house on it and then the extra plot of land next to Robin's house? I am just guessing because I only get my information through this forum and haven't watched the program in years.
  19. I tried looking this up but found nothing similar. I think it must have been on TV in the mid 1960s or earlier. I remember watching UNICEF or UN specials along with our Thanksgiving dinner. For me, who doesn't do well with blood or other medical conditions it was not a nice meal and may have contributed to my continuing dislike of Thanksgiving. However since I couldn't find anything my memories nay be jumbled. Also while I was on a cruise I did something to my little finger so I couldn't move the top joint. Neither the doctor nor I could figure out what it was. When I got home it took my daughter 2 minutes to find out it mallet finger. It didn't hurt at all but was a pain to fix.

I used to enjoy watching Katy Tur at 2:00 or 12:00 where I am. I don't think the new format with both Brian and Katy works.
  21. Gee I think that's before it's finally coming to my city.
  22. About 30 years ago,we were staying at the Las Vegas Hilton with our children. Children were actually welcomed then and the Hilton had a day camp for them. Full House was filming their LV episode at the same time. Of course my 10 or 11 year old daughter was thrilled. Along with about 30 other people, many young girls, we stood watching a scene of the cast going into the theater. The only one of the main cast, the three male actors and the oldest two girls who acknowledged the fans was John Stamos. He would wave to the girls and talk. The others completely ignored everyone. My daughter was enthralled with it all especially when an extra in the scene asked her to hold her camera. I think we stood there for over two hours watching. I didn't like "Uncle Jesse" lighting up a cigarette but after he was so much nicer to the kids than anyone else, I always thought of him fondly.
  23. I like his "Smokey the Bear " PSA especially carnivorous, deciduous, or pine-scented trees. As a watcher of The Colbert Report it is a reminder that bears were man eating beasts (or something like that) on the show.
  24. The scooter made me laugh because I flashed back to Sheldon riding behind Howard and the horror on his face.
  25. Thank-you Rinaldo. I really enjoyed the performance. Do you have any other recommendations?
