Agreed, it could even cover a few episodes arc, they have many issues that need addressing.

I so didn't get the point of Talia being in episode 23. Seriously, if she is going to be on, she needed to be at the wedding and causing a little Kensi/Deeks stress, not rocking up at the boat shed, talking with Callen and Sam, then leaving and having nothing really to do with the plot. It seemed like it was filling in. I really liked the Talia character, but her appearing was redundant, the storyline didn't go back to her. I kind of get the use of Sabatino, he is always getting in the way or has some finger in the pie when it comes to things the NCIS LA agents do. and seeing him is ok. The Harm and Mac bit, also a little redundant, they just pissed off the old JAG fans by not having them together as a couple, and because they were guest stars and it was only a supporting role, JAG fans were even more disappointed with the outcome. I am thinking it could have been any ship, with any XO and CO, and Harm being there and Mac being Hetty's secret weapon against the Russian diplomat really could have been anyone.

I wonder if the underwhelming feeling is because episode 21 (especially) and 22 were written so well, we hoped the last 2 would be just as good?

Me too, But I think they will stay, just following my gut. Was she the one who kidnapped the Muslim man after running him down? The reservist who had worked as an interpreter in Afghanistan and was trying to catch the cousin who was kidnapping wannabe actresses and shipping them overseas to be ISIS brides? I think it was season 8, while Kensi was still in a coma. This has to be one of my favourite Hetty quotes ever. I was thinking something similar. She looks strange now 😞 Random thoughts: Since there are 2 epsiodes of next season already filmed, I think they have left the potential for a Harm/Mac reunion possible. It would have been cool if they could entwine Admiral Chegwidden back into the throng, just to make me happy 🙂 . Sam, running through the ships corridors, makes me chuckle. He is just too big a stature to run fast (this is also nothing of substance). I really would have thought that Sam and/or Callen would have been stationed near to the computer room to catch the next person playing that game, not interrogating the already caught guy. He wasn't telling anyone much. I also find it hard to believe he didn't have friends and know who the other 3 were, considering the one playing the game rounded up the other 2 pretty quickly. I find it bizarre there wasn't an escape hatch from the CIA containers, maybe there is and Sabatino, Kensi, Deeks and the Seal will get out that way. I am sure there will be more random thoughts, there are a few months before the next episode, so there is plenty of time to come up with the what ifs... Just glad they were all alive and kicking at the end of this episode and not in an up-turned suv that was on fire.

Nate is probably the only shrink Callen may talk to. He has such trust issues, there is no way he would open up to a random person. However, doesn't the guy who plays Nate have a role on another show these days? This may be one of the reasons this hasn't been addressed.

While I was a JAG fan, I also agree, this is a NCIS LA forum, not a JAG one. It was ok to bring everyone who wasn't a JAG fan, up to speed, we need to go back to talking NCIS LA. I think we will get those unanswered questions, but the JAG characters will still be a supporting role to the current NCIS LA Characters. I have this feeling that Nell's Mother might pass, therefore Nell and Eric will remain in LA. Kensi and Deeks will ultimately decide to stay in NCIS. As will Sam. I just don't know what their plans are with Callen. They left Joelle and Anna in Cuba and his Dad is "gone". I get why he needed to be back at work. He is lost in some ways. That was why he came back to work when everyone thought he was taking time off. Callen's family is the OSP in NCIS LA. They are the ones who have been there consistently for him in the last 10 years.

From what I remember, and I am not the JAG aficionado that many others are, I think he went to law school after he was told he had night blindness, but I may be wrong.

But this makes for "exciting" TV. It is NCIS LA, we need the mandatory overuse of bullets and kill the bad guy to extend the storyline longer. (Total sarcasm here).

Well, although not disappointing, it wasn't as good as the last 2 episodes. I found a flaw in the show tonight, Callen had an earwig in his ear, but Sam didn't (they showed both sides of his head), yet they were both talking to Eric and to Kensi and Deeks when they were interviewing Staff Seargent Baird (I think was his name). Sam and Callen were in the car, listening. I really hope Volkoff is dead. I think it is time for a new storyline. Especially, if Callen's Dad is definitely dead. Random musing: I really liked Nell's dress on her, it looked so much better than the dowdy thing she had on last week. I really hope she and Eric don't leave at the end of the season. Eric without Nell is surprisingly boring. I totally expected Dave to turn up as Fatima was on an assignment. I also liked the Kensi/Deeks banter. It was witty and on song for them.

I really want more undercover work. Office of Special Provisions was supposed to be all about undercover work. Lately, it has just been like NCIS, but with an Ops Centre. They haven't done much undercover since last season, when Sam was the banker. Although I really loved the last 2 episodes, I found the second of the 2 a little rushed. I have no idea how it could be slowed down totally, but I would have liked to have seen some of the down time between Callen and his dad, and some closure. I love that Anna is still around, I really like her and Callen together, they have a lot in common. I am not as fussed on Joelle, yes, she is an undercover CIA agent, but she has deceived him and everything since has been for personal gain. While I like the chemistry between Kensi and Deeks, small moments is all I need to see, like in Season 6 when the DoJ investigation questioned Kensi and she and Deeks had a really sweet moment afterwards. Those are enough for me.

I always wanted Deek's mate to come back too. I was hoping he would turn up for the wedding and would call Kensi Wikipedia again too. Take Deeks out for a bachelor party and then we wouldn't have had all those second thoughts at Sam's boat. I've always wondered why he didn't turn up at Callen's, as Callen's apartment is above the bar. Just a random thought :) The show definitely had many more brilliant episodes/season than it does now, but I can't not watch, I need to know how it ends. I am in for the long haul.

Hetty is certainly the glue for me too. As Callen says in one episode, they are just her pawns on a chess board. I love Callen, and although I like Sam, his being a perfectionist at everything (the weak hand shooting for example), drives me a little nuts. I do like how he counsels everyone like the father figure though and I do like the relationship between him and Callen and their sometimes crazy banter. The Tahir storyline, I didn't like so much, I thought it was dragged out and I hated that Michelle was killed in the end and the gang couldn't find her in the nick of time. The side of Sam mourning her so wasn't addressed enough, IMO.

Those scenes shown a couple of weeks ago were shown a fair while ago. They were initially in 6 x 20 Rage after Callen had infiltrated the white supremacist group.

I agree, seasons 2-7 are the best, as are the last couple of episodes of season 1. Watching season 1 gives you a good idea of Callen too, nomadic, the searching for family, loyal to Hetty (yet sometimes it makes you seriously wonder why) and you definitely get why he became a spy. Watching 1-7, you definitely see the characters evolve, you even see Deeks looking way less scruffy, which is a bonus. (I still maintain one of the reasons his hair has become so ridiculous is because he has a major receding hairline at his temples, as the years have gone on, more hair has been combed forward from the back - yes, I think I have spent too long analysing his hair 😄 )

@123BP for the life of me, I couldn't remember the Comescus' name. I may have supposed to have been working when I wrote my overview, so checking facts wasn't going to work 😉

I think the fact that Anna has pushed Callen away since the shooting and her being sentenced, it made it hard to feel bad for her. We've been feeling his emotions, but because she has been so isolated and not included in the storylines, and not seen each week, it has been hard to connect emotionally with her.

Ok, some back story for those who haven't watched from the beginning: 1. Callen's American grandfather had a Romanian man put on trial for war crimes. He was found guilty. His family vowed revenge on Callen's grandfather. They killed Callen's mother when Callen was a little boy, but for some reason, let him and his sister live in foster homes, separately (his sister died when she was 11 years old, but they were split when they were returned to America). Apparently, Callen's father went on a rampage after his mother was killed, from this episode's storyline, he killed 2 members of the family and then discovered a son, whom he decided to raise. Callen's father was a double agent for the KGB and the CIA. Callen's mother was in the CIA and Hetty was her handler for a while. 2. Joelle was initially a set up by Sam and his now deceased wife because they thought Callen deserved a significant other. Unbeknown to Sam and Michelle, Joelle was a CIA agent who worked as a teacher. This was discovered in season 8 when they finally figured out the "Mole" story line that had been running in the background since season 5. Joelle's working with the people who were running interference with NICS LA meant that she was targeted by some bad dudes and she left her family and faked her death, with the help of Callen and is now back doing black ops for the CIA. 3. Anna came in at the end of season 6. She is Arkady's daughter (Arkady worked with Callen long before he joined NCIS and Callen was working with the CIA in Russia). She has been a recurring character and was Callen's girlfriend for a while there. She shot an in-armed arms dealer and killed him and was sent to jail with a 7 year sentence. For some reason, Joelle pulled strings and got her into state jail and not a federal one. 4. Volkoff, he came into the story sometime in season 6 or 7, I think. Arkady was his mentor or at least they worked together in the former KGB. Volkoff helped Callen and Anna and Sam get Arkady and a CIA agent out of a Russian prison in season 7. Is there anyone I missed? Feel free to fix any errors if I messed something up, this is all off the top of my head.

I think it was to make Callen's Dad do whatever Volkoff needed him to do, to make him realise that Volkoff was in charge, not Callen's Dad. It was also so he could "use" them later. Such a pity that didn't work out.

OMG, I may have yelled at the screen once or twice. That was a hard one to watch. It didn't go where I imagined it would. I am glad all the "secrets" between Callen and his Dad seemed to be cleared and Callen seemed at peace at the end, even though I am guttered there will be no more Callen/his father storylines. Or did they "kill" off his dad so he could get a new identity and stay in the states, no questions asked? I am really liking Rogers, it was good of him to help and not opt out. I am sad that Anna stayed and Callen had no choice but to leave, I wish we could see the Arkady conversation. I am also looking forward to the Darius storyline in the future. I am glad Volkoff got his just desserts too. I really thought it was going to be a Hetty manipulated story, I was surprised to see that it wasn't, although, I am sure she had a huge impact on the decisions that were made. I need to address this too: wtf are wardrobe thinking with Nell's clothes? She looks ridiculous!

After the teaser at the end, I don't want her to die, but as much, I don't want Joelle to die, there is so much more to her storyline too. I am very conflicted and really looking forward to the next episode. I think Callen needs something to actually work out for him, I know, by stretching it out, it adds to the drama, but seriously, he has been hunting for his family for goodness knows how long.

She didn't look as emaciated as she did when she went to trial, in this episode.

I thought she was pushing Kate down, she needs her to get to Volkoff to find Callen's dad. The end with Arkady was good too, He just seems a little more human than Mosley did. She was there with an personal agenda, he is there just because he has been sent by the head honchos.

Callen said the only reason Anna would go after Volkoff is to find his father. Random thought, trying to link the fact that someone from Justice made the call for her to go to State Prison from Federal... is this how they can explain why Hetty was away so long? Setting everything up in the background? Hetty was missing again tonight. Is she the person helping Anna from the outside? She couldn't stop them taking his dad away, but she is bloody good at pulling strings and Anna has done a lot of work for her in the past. Besides, she seems to come and go when she pleases without the writers explaining her absences, which makes me think she is the puppeteer here. Yes, I am possibly clutching at straws here, bigtime, however, I would like to think Hetty is directing the escape for Callen's Dad. I really enjoyed this episode. Arkady was hilarious, as usual, Callen was front and centre, and everyone, including Rogers, did their parts. I am really looking forward to Callen explaining why he didn't stop her. I find it would have been more interesting if he went rogue and jumped on the plane with her. Am kind of pissed I have to wait a week for the next episode now. The writing this week was so much better than several of the past episodes, thankfully. While I am sure that many can and will poke holes in the storyline (myself included), I maintain it was way better.
