  1. I'd love to get Kandi drunk and see her rationale as to why apparently, Todd being buds with Apollo and Peter doesn't keep her awake at night holding her purse in her arms. Kandi seemed to see Peter for who he was in terms of who's spending Cynthia's money. Hint. Not Cynthia. And in a lot of ways she is fighting battles that Todd or one of his buddies fired the first shot. I get the whole brave and united marital front but I don't Todd looks to be magic in the sack to the point Kandi's lost her damn mind. At this point in his life, the people he picks to hang out with, let along do shit like this would me really wondering what he would be like the first real bump in the marital road. And how he looks at me, his wife, when he has such a sudden affinity with frauds and failures that encompass so really nasty views towards women no matter how nasty the women in specific can be. I might have a run in with someone like Porsha or Phaedra and walk away thinking "what a bitch". But the prevailing attitude with these three men in some ways is that all women are bitches sooner or later and deserve to be humiliated and disparaged at all costs. Don't even get me started on Cynthia taking her sweet old time with Peter. I was Cynthia and I wouldn't be worried about holding a peach next season but whether Dateline will let me shoot my interviews in street clothes or I have to do the from the neck up to hide the prison uniform until the end thing. It amazes me that even as these men do their own women wrong in so many ways, they stand back and let them drag other women down in the name of bro-manship. And if I was Todd and hanging out with Peter and Apollo (assume once he is out) I'd be awake at night clutching Kandi's purse too.
  2. Well Phaedra's all kinds of dim cheap and contrived. I'm thinking maybe she just was so torn and befuddled as to what was the proper wear. Mourning black as you proposed or born again virgin chaste white to show how innocent she was and is through the whole thing? I mean this is the woman I've seen wear a huge cross that balances over her bared cinched up titties like the sneeze guard over the last two corn muffins at the Golden Coral Buffet. Never making uo her mind she settles for a dumb date with her current bestie to play dress up video vixen style.
  3. Might? I think Jerm is so full of himself the Holy Ghost feels like there is a hundred yard restraining order in effect. Note that even his picture is self-absorbed. He clearly is standing next to someone else, Rubbing shoulders even. Yet that person is cropped out? Why? Couldn't the Jerm find a picture of just himself? Or is he so pleased with how he looks in the picture it MUST be his bio shot. But heaven forfend he share even what little attention on this dinky webpage. "My STORY" after all. He just seems like a creepy weenie to me. And a huge famewhore. That Duggar bride complete with show appearances didn't just happen in my opinion. He went a lookin' and he got exactly what he wanted. And I still want to know why it is Jesus who took him out of soccer. Maybe it was SATAN. Maybe SATAN didn't want him to play soccer. Why is it with these people SATAN can make you do all kinds of bad things but only after you've been caught doing them? Maybe being such an annoying weenie is not just my take but enough that he will turn people away from the lord that might have found him otherwise? While the Jerm played on the pro-team of, I dunno, Minsk? Naw not that good. Maybe Billings.
  4. Sheree probably has aspirations to turn the Chateau into a Celebrity BNB. Only problem is you have to bring the B n B yourself. I agree that Kenya is trying way too hard to pretend the past with Apollo is all or nothing. There's plenty of room for lack of judgement and outright bad behavior there. I'm not sure it gets you off the hook if you were just playing and still allowed certain perceptions to take place. But I find Moore-girl to be the first major step in ruining this franchise. I had hopes for Todd but he is really showing his ass. I think Porsha is an idiot. I dislike Phaedra intensely. But Todd's actions with both of them should have Kandi thinking even if just watching the show and removed from the moment. I think Kandi should see just what she married. By quitting the show. She claims she doesn't need the money; claims I think are valid if not proven since I'm not on her bank account (seems after Todd and her mother there wasn't anymore room on the checks). She says she doesn't need it career wise. So I have to ask since she is still on, who the famewhore? Maybe it isn't her. I mean I get that maybe she wants to launch her daughter's killer music career (take as long as you want with that one -- though when she is legal maybe she can do back ground tracks for Sheree's son's jackoff videos -- heck considering the tawdry desperation we can go all RH family business since I'm guessing the odds of the Wig's eldest daughter doing a sex tape or at least stripping are pretty high). Then again when you have a bunch of bitter old women to support and Tiny Paws Todd now, extra cash is always nice. Still she seems to really hate being on this show in some ways and even when she doesn't have to pretend to like the rest of the cast and films only with her crew/family, more times than naught they trash each other instead of Kandi's current nemesis-du-jour. The show: Apollo has a girlfriend! Me: 'A'? As in one? Now I'm shocked.
  5. Heck rounding up, the average monthly income per household in the US is a little under 4000 I believe. They wanted twice that for a cost living locale at some percentage I'm way too lazy to figure out that is vastly less than in the US. The entitlement these two have all the while wanting everyone to not only pay their way but do while acknowledging how holier they are than the rest of us is quite enraging. Maybe that is the real goal. Enrage enough people and someone will straighten Dreck's face free of charge.
  6. Shamir and Logan are nice to look at. And seem rather agreeable so I hope they stay until either proves otherwise. Not sure how much the 135 degree turn is part of an affectation (even if so automatic it comes out with lack of awareness) but he is on my teevee so even if my favorite reality show, every one is suspect in that regard. I wasn't keen on the idea after the wretched dating season. But the strangers thing actually works towards "just race" at least so far. Hope Phil and production can let it stay that way. I was also mostly pleased with the playground pick approach to teams. Though a part of me wishes there had been a way to pair them that was random -- neither contestant control or production trying to create dramatic storylines. I have no idea how they could have done that. Maybe have numbers in the suitcases that matched up? I would have been pissed getting the consolation prize of being driven by Phil only to be on the second flight. Sounds like a poor your momma joke: Phil, you not only wear your momma's jeans but you drive like her too. I mean really. Yay second flight just to watch the back of Phil's head. Not going to lie, laughed at Miss I'm So Pretty walking into the night of First Eliminated. How's that pretty working for you now?
  7. Yeah they are kind of trapped in a logic circle of their own making. If you are pushing how wonderful you are after asking Jesus to be your savior you have to also buy into the whole redemption thing. The problem is seeing the likes of Smuggar and this guy is that redemption doesn't just come with a glib "I asked forgiveness" it comes from real contrition in the heart. Also while God's forgiveness is the ultimate soul cleanser, the Bible doesn't absolve the sinner from forgiveness from those you sinned against. What gets me with Tim is that he so willfully refuses to take any responsibility and yet also tries to play the "clean slate" approach. How can God forgive you of what you did Rapist Tim if you pretty much openly deny you actually had full responsibility for your actions? Eventually the likes of Smuggar and Rapist Tim will drag the rest down unless they are willing to not only publicly assert themselves but do so acknowledging the inherent hypocrisy in those that don't. The Duggars squeak by because they had a fame infrastructure that weathered scandal just enough to let other more salacious news take its place. But they have an expiration date on their asses and Smuggar made sure that date now is smack dab in the consumers' eyes. Even the Bates don't have that even as their hope for real fame son keeps doggedly following that Nashville star. How big can Lawson go if it is a slow newscycle at the same time his auto-tuned ass somehow produces a hit? Live by social media, you gonna die by social media. Fickle assed as can be. The more famous he might become the more tenuous links to perversion become more interesting and newsworthy. Throw in a cult in legal woes and adding a Rapist like Tim to the cc's of the Paine Family Christmas letter seems downright insane. Its not like Tim swept Tabby off her feet with his charm, wit and compassion. More like dragged her by the hair back to the marital cave after a handshake and "good luck, she's all yours" with her father.
  8. Angels on a goal post! What struck me most there is how little you have to scratch the surface on the Jerm and you get Jack-Boots Pa Duggar. I know to a lot of people Jerm represents a new and modern world for the JingleDull, new clothes new food, sex. But to me, more and more all he sounds like is the like the new JimBoob by Apple. The hipster's millenial approach to narrowminded patriarch. Like Jack-Boots Duggar, the Jerm got out to experience life and enjoy it in all its sin. He got the experiences and advantages of public education and the sciences based in critical thinking that in terms of medical care (if I read one of his comments right). He lived out in a world where genders had a vastly greater level of equality and where even just "normal" in terms of acceptance had a much larger definition. And he enjoyed the fruits of that society. I'm pretty sure he never refused to hit the pitch for a game of soccer if the fans weren't all dressed properly, had never yanked their whank after begging the Lord for forgiveness or engage in Forn-I-Fi-Cation outside of marriage without regret. Yet as his stance on life for others he wants to deny and limit and condemn to the narrowest of allowances. And like the Patriarchal Boob he makes even Jesus take second billing in his All About Me online bio. And here's a thinker? If the Lord is going to call anyone out of sports to minister to the desperate masses? Wouldn't he be turning Giselle's annoying ass into a pillar of salt and send Tom Brady down off the mountain? I mean love him or hate him, he'd get the word out. Jerm? Star of MY STORY? Not so much. I'd be thinking that if Jesus pulled me out of professional soccer and I ended up in Laredo TX married to a Duggar? Jesus hates my ass. Or has no idea how spreading the word works. Seems to me an international soccer star evangelizing on the world stage would reach more people than a small youtube minstry and an old funeral home converted to a three dozen seated church (I kid).
  9. For me it is not so much the man she shifts for so much as she seems to constantly assign herself a role. In the first one it was the free spirit with an open sexual mind and a fluid relationship. One of the intro scenes with the "I'm not a model but I date one" hipster douche in the equally douchebag hat was a prime example for me. She then shifted to wacky but serious writer. Then to giddy romantic only "just slightly" older fun driven gal. Who incidentally took so much affront when someone pointed out she was hardly a millenial herself (basically speaking). So I do think a man in her life shifts her and she seems weak and vapid but I also think that is just her overall. Frankelstein's Monster to me shows how easy it is for Carole to be a puppet for anyone who is willing to tug her strings. I think in some regards Heather did the same. Carole likes to sit back and let someone else do the driving. At this point in her life though she should be able to steer and shift herself and every time she lets someone take the driver's seat she seems to surrender every single aspect of her own journey (just to DRIVE a metaphor all Thelma and Louise off the cliff).
  10. 1.Proximity. It is close enough to easily flee if the shit truly does go down. Nothing says facing danger like making sure you one two hour flight from the US* 2.People of a certain stripe in the US have long had a paternalistic view of any nation to the south of the border. It is easy to not only maintain your sense of superiority but sell it to your like minded folks not smart enough to see past the lure of a DONATE button. 3.Its actually an easy sell in some ways to the local people you are "mission-acating" to. They already have an idea of Christianity and so are open to beliefs and ideas in general but due to social and economic circumstances might feel abandoned by the Catholic Church or just find the gain in attention meeting their true spiritual needs. 4.It is easy to slide it in with legitimate missions, aid. There is a need in this area. And there are already real groups both religious and secular doing good things. So it establishes bona fides. I know a lot of people who have some awareness of at least one effort in Central America. It's kind of weird in a way. But one co-worker's son is going with graduate class members to build bridges in Panama, another friend of the family runs a dental clinic down there for a couple of weeks every summer. Another an eye clinic. In the grocery store line just a month ago I heard the lady in front of me tell the cashier she was buying certain items because they could be shipped in Guatemala for an ongoing relief to fight Zika and some other diseases. Hiding your grift among the legimate is sort of lazy cheater 101 when all is said and done. You don't take a nap by yourself out where everyone else can see. You "rest" your eyes in a group and hope to blend in. *I know full well that there are plenty of things about the overall region that are dangerous and life threatening. I'm just saying that I think these are the Dullards motivations and not those of the people putting in the real sweat and sadly blood to make lives better in the area.
  11. I think she is as shallow and has as much substance as a piece of baking parchment. She goes wherever she thinks is "interesting" and in doing so reveals the woman doesn't have a nuance if she could package it and sell it. She follows whatever she thinks is "current" or on trend and never realizes for a moment that the reason she thinks something is such, is because it has been for a long damn time (by pop culture standards). She is self-absorbed enough to assume she is a leader and cutting edge. Having followers doesn't make you a leader if all you can see in front of you is the back of another person. If she is still on the air in ten years time, she'll play catch up and be all isolationist, anti-furrin' and have a "build the wall" themed show. I do think she knows she is running a scam. The funny thing is I think most of these hosts do. I think Giada was selling her glamorous yet down to earth nuclear family even as she was swinging from the hotel room light fixtures with men who weren't her husband. I think Rachel Ray knew damn well how limited she was in the cooking area and white knuckled her way through endless burgers and over used cutisms like EVOO and the refusal to measure to greater exposure and success. So how else can ReDrum (is it a coincidence that it spells murder and she constantly kills good tasting food before it can hit the table? I think not!) not do the same. She takes what others do and regurgitates it and sells it off as new goods. Sadly that is kind of the American way. Too many people are simply happy being told they are getting a good thing without every actually bothering to check if it is good and what should make it good. I'm guessing most of her time these days still involves sitting down and watching Ina, Deen, Ray and others and doing that card idea thing she once claimed was her sole reason for living and that is why most of her recipes seem like a jumbled "make your own adventure" mess. She finds a dish that is done by a couple of other cooking show successes and then mixes and matches with no sense of flavors or dish combinations that actually make a cohesive and enjoyable meal.
  12. Finished a couple of ARCs I was lucky enough to snag. Robin Hobb's Fool's Fate. A fantastic finish to, for me, her strongest series yet. Which is saying a lot. I was sad to get to the end in part because I knew it is planned to be the last book in that setting. I hope she already has a lot of worked out ideas for whatever comes next. She is definitely one of my favorite authors period, let alone in the genre. I also read Kevin Kwan's Rich People Problems. The third and possibly last in the sequence he started with Crazy Rich Asians. I liked this. For some reason this progressive minded person adores the crass tawdry over-the-top label dropping soap-froth materialism in these books. I think because it is so unapologetic in what it is delivering. It has a "two consenting adults" feel to it in terms of the tone and style Kwan delivers. Each subsequent book though is a drop off from the first. Not huge, but there always is a bit of a lack from the pure whiz bang charm of the first one. He does know his stuff about this certain class of people having just ridden in the companies versions of Trenti to go on a shopping spree with my bosses two wives in a really surreal "how the hell did that just happen" kind of way. I'd really like to find someone who approaches wealth as a storyline like Kwan does. It is so gleeful and unabashed in many ways but it also fits into the plot and not just label after label inserted willy nilly. Kwan drops labels plenty but for the most part it fits and doesn't stand out and detract. I know there is a part of me that simply does not understand why I find such books fun (the entertaining part I get because Kwan has a style that for me, makes for fast and immersive reading). I'm working on Brian McClellan's Sins of the Empire. I like his writing but it is a bit slight. Not a negative thing, it makes for an easy read, but maybe a little too easy. I also have some catching up to do in the historical fiction department. I let Sally Christie's Mistresses of Versailles drop to the side and I need to see if it can engage more fully this time. Love me some decadent court drama (especially ones that don't involved the over done Tudors!). It checks so many boxes that I truly am baffled I haven't gotten this read and "shelved" since the writing seems decent enough. Also have the latest Sarah Dunant on the Borgias. Another box checker as it were. But I can't remember how I felt in particular about her first Borgia book. I might have to do a search and come up with the synopsis. I know I read it. I just don't recall what I felt was good or bad about it. With the Borgias it seems most authors go to extremes. Either Lucretia was a poor misunderstood pawn or a complete vamp (though more tend to veer to the former and not the latter lately -- too few can balance the reduced role of women in general and the fact that it didn't mean that all were hapless victims -- to get and maintain any type of power there had to be drive and even ambition, yet authors seem to find that all negative even as they apply a modernist approach to genders).
  13. I definitely think she comes off as insecure in this. It puts all responsibility on an entire gender. That they should meet her requirements and the failure is not just on them but it is a reflection of them as well. It is a false facade of superiority when in fact I think sweeping generalizations (speaking of sweeping generalizations) only make the person giving them a look of ignorance if not outright laziness to parse nuance or reflect on oneself. The broader a generalization, the more I look at the person making them and thinking what a dumbass. Not just because I think it reveals ignorance but because I think it actually shows enough self-awareness that she know that flaw exists and she still doubles down and blame and basically shows she is well aware that the problem does seem to pervade generally; in this case, essentially an entire gender, without an ounce of responsibility on part in said perceived problem. Its the perfection syndrome. As soon as you make any such claims, and in my opinion that is what she is doing here in this particular area of socialization, you pretty much tell everyone just how imperfect you really are.
  14. I think if you take a look at developing countries where religion can often be much more dogmatic, tithing takes place even if it is not "enforced". One of the interesting things about the current Pope is he came under a lot of negative scrutiny in his own church as he often pointed out the disparity between the people he served and the impact their tithing, "voluntary" or not had on their own lives compared to the luxury that it went towards in the higher reaches of the Catholic Church. The reason I use quotes on voluntary is because having seen how some churches of various denominations in such cultures, the idea is that is is up to the individual but the implied undertone is that any don't give as much as they can is not a good _____________ (insert religion here). and often "good enough" is more than the individual or their families should surrender to keeping an organization afloat. I have seen all kinds of religious practices, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist etc. in some way or form Faithmail their people to provide Organizational support beyond taking care of the fellow needy. And in this specific case, wouldn't Jeremy's tithes basically pay his own salary at the church? Or go through the loophole of tax write offs to provide for himself in terms of lodging and food depending on how that church takes care of their satellite minister. I'd like to see their financials and how Jeremy balances his monetary gains with the show and his role as pastor in this church. I would not be surprised if the TLC paycheck grossly overshadows his pastor "pay". Not that I think TLC is making him rich. I just tend to think there can't be much to the spoon stirring the pot in Laredo. Or much to stir in a piddling pot with the numbers of the congregation. But I wonder how much he is "giving" back to the church? Does he preach for free or does he double dip as it were? (as irreligious as I am I actually know of two cases where small struggling churches have ministers that have jobs so their churches don't have to pay them. One basically works two to keep the power and heat on in the church as well as does all the lawn care, painting etc.- something tells me that the prissy smug Jeremy is more 'Let's talk About Jesus...and how he makes Me feel and be").
  15. You forgot her ability to balance her flat and odd shaped ass she thinks is so great looking it could cure cancer between the handbars of his bike. I don't follow her social media at all, but I do remember that when she started getting flack mid season the one year it seemed like she and her "I hate attention but I date a famewhore online no problem" serious salad spinner started playing discarded Old Navy ad campaigns quite heavy for the tabs and their social media. Considering that even among strong progressives viewers there seems to be a pushback on her political posturing just out of weariness on the whole matter. And I also think there might be some confusion on her rabidity after she giggles and made what she thought were adorable faces on how confused she was on the whole 99% protests despite the fact that when she filmed that scene the protests were slowing down and had been headlines pretty much everywhere for a couple of weeks. People change. But famewhores seem, in my opinion, to always play a role that gets them attention. So after her introduction as a socio-cultural simpleton that she played hard, it is difficult for me to find her as credible on the current political scene as I suspect she wants me to buy into. If she is able to actually show anything but a "look at me" approach to the current socio-political scene I'll be happy but I don't think she has that in her. In an odd way, taking this stance she seems to (thanks to what is posted here mind you) seems more reactionary while trying to pretend to activism.
  16. Just the fact these two have the time to "refute" the ease of their vacationing? To me says it is vacation. This latest article also reminds me of her blogging a week or so ago about how they "mission" in a dangerous place. Not actually live there. Sleep there. But go in once a week to a "dangerous" place. And never once comments on actually what makes it dangerous (people can fall down and incur a fatal head injury here in the US). Or what they as "missionaries" are doing to combat those things that make it dangerous for the people who do have to live there and sleep there*. Not just swoop in and pass out tracts that either the local people can't read, or more likely he can't read (I would love it if someone with a clue at the print shop swapped out pamphlets in Spanish advocating birth control, safe sex and secular means to better society for Dreck to obliviously hand out). Not claim to see Jesus' hand in the death of a young woman due to inadequate healthcare in the finishing of her pinata by her in-mourning friends. Praise the Lord, Craft Projects Will be Finish in time for YouTube Self-videofication. I really hope someone somewhere somehow makes simple math possible for so many of their knee jerk fans. That the math is done where they can see and understand. That when that 24,000 is broken down to the months "missioning" and then parlayed into what it means in terms of an annual salary if that is them "sacrificing" for however many months. What that translates into what they see as their normal annual income for sitting on a coach and smirking into a cellphone for self-absorbed selfies to propel the next fool to hit that "donate" button with the occasional ranting screed posted that demands everyone let these two judge them but don't you dare judge back. Just love and dollars for these two folks. Well just dollars. Send enough and the "love" comes through loud and clear. *I mention the sleep thing because her self-absorbed lazy ass husband made that reference to being able to sleep at night was such a core element of personal safety and how it felt for him to visit places where he might not sleep well.
  17. After last season and now this one, I can honestly say that I would love if season four cut down on Saul and Robert considerably. I really only find them interesting as part of the overall family dynamic or how their relationships with Grace and Frankie continue to evolve. I found the play plotline tedious. Whereas the plot with Robert's mother worked because it tied into how he treated Grace in the past and how he had changed in the present. I do like the kids and wish they were featured a bit more. Bud is my favorite character of them all because he is not "normal" but yet is the closest to being a greek chorus in some ways. Diane comes close at times, but like a comet she swings in and then flies out and wobbles. Mallory's marital woes are a bit trite and a bit way too long in coming -- I think I saw (and agreed) that the potential for her husband to be cheating on her from the first time he was on was there and at the least their marriage was not a strong one (in contrast to the flash back episode with him and Coyote being friends at the holiday weekend which I thought was such a rich and interesting element that never got fully explored -- i.e. what made Mallory fall in love with the guy and how at a point in the past he was a full member of the family). I thought the story with Diane and the male whore was actually well done but it didn't quite fit in this show. They do that each season though. Have a sort of intricate subplot that gets explored well but never seems the right fit for the overall show itself. At least in my opinion. I liked the introduction of the Peter Gallagher character and didn't think I would. I wouldn't mind if he was brought back for another season though I would be fine if he was nothing more than a past reference. I do want to see Bud has a Baby as a story line. I think because he, like Diane, seems to have a stronger tie with both Grace and Frankie in a way. The elevator scene and how Jane Fonda as Grace interacts with 'Bud' was so well done and spoke of how despite the friction between Grace and Frankie in their past, there was also some great fondness and appreciation that simply wasn't realized in the time and makes the current situation as this weird off kilter extended family work. And not reduce the bond between the two women as something trite to sell greeting cards or flavored coffee.
  18. Maybe it is way too TMI but we are already talking about vibrators. And maybe it will ease the mind somewhat. But "placement" wise? Consider how a penis and the man it is attached to can respond to a hand "yanking" it up and down? Imagine a well designed and stimulating-aimed textured device pulsating along a sensitive and already prone to throbbing area? All I'm saying is that there are plenty of areas down there that placing something that tickles teases and tweaks can provide plenty of oral enthusiasm without anything needed to be inserted.
  19. I do think it is funny that Dorit has this faux'cent that she puts on a weak ear. Since she actually has been surrounded her whole life by people who speak with American accents shouldn't that overwhelm the coarse mutterings of her fleshy husband of a few years? Or does she come out of every long conversation with a new accent? I'm going grossly stereotypical here, but what does she sound like after going to a long nail salon appointment? Eating a full course meal in an ethnic restaurant? Living in LA, I'm guessing a wait at the DMV has her thrashing on the floor when she gets home, speaking in tongues it and waving snakes to Jesus. I hope Dorit is one and done. But only if it also means the Blow Up loses enough air to also float away. And I think the Erikas are likely to stay. So Dorit can stay since she is the one to prompt even more fucks than the Erikas usually give. And that is a lot. Heck if the Erikas actually put the fucks she gives into her work, it would actually be porn instead of the fake flat stuff she makes that "shocks" so many. At this point the Duggars are more shocking with their personal lives than what she spends money to try to produce. The Erikas also have ramped up the vapid and mean. A lethal combo. I always figured the contrived dichotomy in personality ironically had a twofold goal. The first was to keep her owner, I mean Tom happy with the built in Madonna-Whore-in-One model. He clearly loves having her drift between Video Trollope and lawyer's matron. And she seems to revel in trying to diminish all the other women either as too crass to meet the matron's exacting standards or too rigid themselves for finding her scratch the yeast infection antics too much. Both she and her lease holder get the most for the money they flush down the drain on the Erika Jayne project. She gets to be hypocritically judgemental and s shrieking harpy when the leash chafes too much and he gets off thinking he has the slut everyone else wants to fuck but can't. Their story is a bit like the plot Jackie Collins writes on a piece of toilet paper while taking a piss, then realizes what shit it is and flushes it with the rest. I so wish Rinna would be tossed off this show. But I think she brings what production wants. I do think production whispers encouragements to bring more drama and drops little "hints" as to what others on the cast say or do. But I also think it is on the cast member to figure out how to "bring it". Or how far it goes. From comments from the likes of Tamra Barney, Khandi on Atlanta and Brandi it does seem that production gives tacit approval to certain things -- the show does let them know, even with just a wink and nudge- if they feel that person is "delivering". And Rinna is delivering. I think it will take Kyle and Vanderpump refusing to film with her and Kyle spreading that to include the Erikas if the Erikas keep firmly aligning with Sticks and Lips in her constant attack and cower mode. That was what I heard took out Brandi. not just refusing to film with her but forcing other cast members to choose. YoYo-Stage-Ma picked Brandi and Kim and it helped push her out a season later. The Erikas saw that and saw it was good to have friends on both sides of the fence. Rinna in Hong Kong might have brought the shrieking wife for hire has an enough Lifetime movie of the week moment out of the Erikas, but we will see how long that lasts when the Erikas find out that dancing with the stars is more often than not an upward trajectory. I have to admit. If the next season offered me Eileen without Rinna to try to pitbull her way through a season and no mutually ass licking with the Erikas? Eileen forced to actually do more than sniff her disapproval and quiver with indignation having to share the same space as Vanderpump (hell I'd quiver too, but if I was a famewhore looking for pay to supplement the tenuous life of soap actress married to the eye rolling contradiction of a cheap gambler, I'd quiver a whole fucking lot more subtly)? I'd be marathoning that season every single day. I'd have scenes of Eileen having to dine at one of the Vanderpump-Todd crappy eateries as my screen saver. I'd have Eileen's scrunched face reacting to Vanderpump guffawing at her own wicked salacious wit as my icon here. I'd just so love to see how far Eileen is willing to actually work on this show without Rinna jumping around for attention like a tick that lives on Ryan Seacrest or the Erikas pretending she sees Eileen as a person and not a walking opportunity to expand her public persona.
  20. I agree. But I also think that as a figure that chooses to put herself in the public and in the way that she and her family do, my forming and opinion and discussing it are not "forcing it on her". Not that you are saying that. I just think that there is a tone that is trying to respect her as a victim that gets clouded since the only victimization that she will admit to is people finding out. and mostly people finding out that the family and its celebrity grift are not as perfect as they want or claim. There is just such a huge chasm for me between what Jill Dilly Dumb claims to believe and what she wants me as a member of her viewing and (hoped) supporting public believe. Throw in the facts that even as she and her family claim it is the intrusion of said public that is the true offense, she and her family also make no bones about trying to define the public discourse in general their way. Despite no evidence to support their ideas. Or the fact they themselves then put themselves in regards to the whole molestation in a clear blame the victim manner. Throw in yet the inescapable idea for me that there is also a chasm between what Jill believes and what Jill herself wants to believe. I find her untrustworthy as someone to speak publicly about the events let alone define them for the rest of us. That is unfair in a way. But that is the price you pay when you hoist yourself on a fiberglass lawn ornament cross and demand it be filmed. and instagramed and blogged and facebooked. I don't think questioning her comments is somehow forcing something on her. She has the ability to go the fuck away already and she has not. She has made comments trying to define the specifics of her owin experience in offensive and judgemental and completely wrong generalities that she has no business doing if the public exposure of it all is what victimizes her. I don't like that expectations do seem to be placed on victims. And I do think that she draws that in some way. But I think in the end it boils down to living your life on your front lawn kind of removes the complaints of how your neighbors judge you no matter how private and personal some matters should be. and I should point out my quoting you specifically is not so much finding a smidgen of fault or flaw with your comments so much as using them as a jumping point to get on my soap box on the matter.
  21. Athena is a nasty piece of work; pun intended. She certainly goes for the mean and crude fast for someone who makes such an effort to pretend she is enlightened and on a higher intellectual level than anyone else. Lisa is also a nasty piece of work. Her social and political views certainly match her personality for me. Vicious and sneering for no reason other than to put people down to elevate herself. And that fucking nose of hers! The rest of the facial work is bad enough and the hair! But that nose! I keep expecting it to have a life of its own. And just start moonwalking across her face as it breaks into a medley of Michael Jackson's greatest hits. Nicky seems to have calmed down a bit. If I had to listen to her brag about this one time, in first class* as her means to establish how wonderful she is and how much everyone else wishes they were her? I'm still not buying her move back to Australia as she is selling it though. I know there are some great schools in Australia but as a reason to move your daughters away from their father for huge stretches of time? Daughters of a woman who out the gate gushes about how elite her life is? Nope. Not buying it. In a world where her husband is presumably some financial mover and shaker the numbers simply don't add up. London simply due to locale and timezone is a prime place to be investment wise. It moves in the same circles as most of the US markets and of course the Middle East, Russia and Europe. It is more friendly to South American markets and African investments. If you aren't focusing on Asia, it makes sense to place yourself in London. Everything else though about her and this move screams nothing but going for a much needed family paycheck by going on the show. Nicky is nowhere as fabulous as she wants that first class mumbo jumbo to make her appear. Victoria is nasty. I think she came from a line of upper middle class people who thought they were always better than everyone else and yet also simmered with resentment that they weren't ever as well off as others who they felt didn't deserve. She comes off as a someone living well but feeling stifled by the limits living off a carefully hedged trust/inheritance because she can't splurge as she sees her social peers do. She comes off as really bitter and trying to pass herself off as much grander than she is. What makes her so nasty in a lot of ways I think is that she has been in the "know" in that level of social circles. There is a strong resentful nose against the glass from the outside vibe to her to me. Matty. So fake in so many ways. Her personal life is not interesting and the boyfriend seems off for some reason. I wonder if she is his little money pot? Between the accent and the lip work I find her voice a blade that slices through my soul. The sound of it produces that skin crawling type discomfort that make me FF her scenes more than not. The blonde trying to use the show as a comeback vehicle is kind of boring so far. And I'm going to just take a book and grab that table for one in the corner as I don't actually hate Melissa. I can find her rather funny at times. I think she is definitely a bit of the mean girl but I think she also is among nothing but mean girls. I think she sussed that out from the start. From her desperate cousin with the white knuckled attempts at pretension to Athena and Lisa who both think they are much cleverer at delivering snide putdowns than they are. By far. I wouldn't want to spend much time with the woman, if any at all. But she is the least annoying so far for me and the least offensive. I also wish she was a bit more clever to point out the whole Chewbacca thing and how it is so ad hominem to what was actually being said. I think it is funny in the removed viewer sense, but as someone to personally go after another woman like that and then claim the moral, intellectual and spiritual highground is a joke. But then Athena is one. Sadly without a punchline. *I know it was the first episode with Nicky's gushing about first class, but made it sound like she has flown a couple of times on small city express flights and was trying to conflate a couple of experiences as some sort of glamorous and privileged constant lifestyle. Even most flights from London to Paris have larger seating sections than her "ten other people comment" Plus her talk of the Airbus superliners was totally anecdotal and had no personal aspects that made me think she ever has flown deluxe class -- I do on Singapore Airways and I actually find it incredibly claustrophobic and would much rather fly Emirates open seating room styled premier class so there, Nicky! Even her story about the kids seemed like it was something she lifted from a Kevin Kwan novel or a slam article in In Touch Weekly on some wannabe celebrity diva.
  22. Roxy probably is stuck since a lot of the labels she feels it necessary to wear and then remind everyone she is wearing clothes that cost lots and lots of money probably don't make too many items in her size if at all. It would be nice to actually see a woman who isn't gaunt who actually dresses well. Instead of the price tag gusher that is Roxy who looks pretty much like she is stepping out of a limo to her 1990 prom. Roxy is the one who taints the pool for me. Kara is heinous. Really heinous. But she is also her own worst enemy. Which makes her a nice little train wreck to watch from the comfort of my own home. I know a lot of Karas in my own life so far and I try everything I can to eliminate them in any and every way I can if possible. I do love that the other four women all caught on real quick to Roxy's whole "us against her" attempt to cast herself as some victim and turn them all against Kara. The rest all not only made the effort to find out about Kara on their own but also made a point of making sure Roxy knew that. I think Ann is the only one with a tiny axe to grind about Kara having to blab about her husband's business but even she seems ready to keep giving Kara a chance despite also enjoying the little digs. Roxy is way too thirsty and way too eager to create a RH feud for plot while she actually offers up nothing. Her poor assistant actually seems to think she was hired to be a real society mover and shaker's assistant and instead finds herself caught up as just another narrative point that Roxy has money. Money I tell you. And I see no love for her dog. Rather she loves the fact that it is nothing but another avenue to make sure we know she spends money. And her talking heads as as painful as Kara's. The over top top simpering and gushing makes me think I'm watching a sketch from the Hotwives series. I really am surprised at how ordinary some of the wives live compared to their gushing self proclamations of worth. Ann has that cottage but lives in a typical suburban home it seems. Nothing wrong with that but the crass over sized limo pulled on the curb just made it look weird. So too for the homes of Roxy and Grego. I live in a much nicer house. Maybe I should be on one of these shows? Again. Not saying their houses aren't nice but they don't look like something to aspire to either. Ann's decor other than her closet seems nice but both Roxy and Grego's (Grego's public living areas) have try too hard interiors to the exteriors and locale. Like they poured what they could into the decor to pretend it is the house they wanted to afford rather than the one that they actually can. Both have way too heavy handed "style" attempts that I saw that made it look like some upper scale dental office that flips to a brothel in the after hours for visiting Eastern European businessmen that want to pretend they have an unlimited expense account. I did laugh that Ann has a closet that looks like some college apartments. When she pulls out what is supposed to be a fabulous gown but instead isn't even on a hanger let alone a good one it is crammed into such a small space. I was so thinking that the daughter was going to be her grand daughter! Ann has a great body but she has aged herself decades with that face. Why she did that to herself at such a young age is beyond me. I did note that her son (by a previous marriage right?) looks old enough to be able to objectify without being too pervy. Joan really wants us to know she has money too right? I'm okay with that as a viewer since it seems that she and her husband are the type to be insecure enough to think they must spend to establish themselves. Not just for the show. I do think she needs someone to take her in hand and show her how to spend in terms of quality to impress as opposed to quantity. That dock party was hideous. Give me that setting and limit it to a hundred people, a great dj, real food, not mass produced burgers. I'm not saying it had to be linens and crystal, but give me a good knosh of lobster from Nova Scotia, crabs flown in from Vancouver, pasty from Montreal and some great beef from pretty much all of Canada. A relaxed time but also a nice energy that a small crowd can bring. Great food and a crowd that you can immerse yourself in or flit through comfortably is going to be a hell of a lot more impressive than tossing cash at some cheap over crowded sweat thrash sponsored by Solo Cup. Kara has to make everything about herself. I really do wonder about her husband. He seems nice. He really has her number and shuts her down. A couple of times now. So why didn't he talk her out of this show? Because she is a horrible person who simply cannot help herself. As a HW villain she is perfect. As someone who is always going to shot herself in the foot and do so on camera for her kids to have archived for the rest of their lives? Not a good move. I find Ann's husband a bit creepy and I don't even know why. I do think having husband talking head segments is too soon. Wait a season until we know the women before the husband climb aboard like that. I liked Grego with her kids. While it was a "scene" it felt like the relationship with her kids was sincere and not just "on". Jana needs to get over herself a little bit. Her professional life is a bit boring and the glimpses of her personal life seemed aimed at reminding us she is still young and viable and has plenty of time. I agree. But the slight shift she manages to bring that up in her talking heads makes me think maybe she actually doesn't. I hope the show settles a bit. I'm still finding the forced elements of bringing these women together a bit rough. I think a good part of that is Roxy. She clearly jumped ship as soon as she met the rest of the cast and saw them as better than Kara. I get that in some ways. But I also think roxy is taking advantage of Kara's propensity for self drama to try and make more of this little tiff. And I definitely think it is way heavy handed on her part to make herself some incredible victim in something she clearly is taking huge pleasure are pretending she is at the center of. There really is nothing there to be at the center of when you break it down. Again, I do love that even Ann seems to see right through her. But Roxy does nothing but simper and gush and brown nose when around the others and try to collectively trash Kara. Yawn. It was funny at how awkward and phony the first episode was. Ann wants to throw this party but isn't fabulous to figure out the plus de plus of Toronto herself? I get it. Scripted. But try not to pull back the curtains and show the audience the pulleys and levers so fast producers. As much as I would hate having this particular Kara in my life, on my tv she makes me laugh. I do cringe at her incredibly contrived moments with her son as sidekick. Find an adult to play with Kara. Or hire an assistant. Its like I'm watching a housewife from one of the US franchises decide she is going to DIY the whole horrid "gay best friend" thing and raise her own. If Roxy wasn't on this show I could sit back and just watch. She is making me FF way too often for me to say I enjoy the show. But Ann, Joan, Grego and Jana make a great core that seems to have the right amount of organic chemistry that feels like they all could actually become a social set outside the show.
  23. The Sphincter-In-Chief is right about the two proposed updated Air Force Ones. They are more costly than they should be. Due to the needed technology and advances in protective measures. Instead I want to say that I will be more than happy to pony up not just two Air Force Ones that this Walking Taint deserves. But, count 'em, FOUR!. That's right folks. Four. I will personally underwrite the entire financial cost of the four Air Force Ones that will meet the requirements that the next President deserves.
  24. It's odd. The writing in many ways was much better for me than it has been for a couple of weeks. But the vignettes seemed too short and slight at the same time. I do think when there is something like the holiday, it could have vignettes that are nestled in an overall story. Have the family together for dinner with four stories that tie together but take place in the same setting. I liked how vanity story played out with Matt and his dad. I think that is the way to handle the slightly irreverent approach to family dynamics (with the father openly saying Greg is is favorite*) rather than the whole abuse is fun approach. The story with Greg and Jen was a little too predictable. I liked the bridal gown selecting, but it was hampered a bit because it was such a rich story line to really have some fun with and the shortness proved a weakness. That is the one weakness of the show is that it either is written poorly for me or it cuts off without really plumbing some rich depths. The Clementine thing was probably the right length but also could have gone a little bit more since it never really seemed to establish firmly how far Greg and Matt were believers if they ever were. *I thought though Greg was not the dad's favorite from earlier episodes. Maybe I'm just mixing my shows, but I thought it was mentioned Matt being the favorite and that was why he was allowed to stay in the garage as well as the wrestling episode it was mentioned about Greg feeling the least favorite because he was bad at sports?
  25. I don't want to live in a world that has Sam and Isaac as the top two. Both seem so fucking needy if in very different ways. And what list leaves off Tre? Damn that is a piece of man right there. Can lift heavy objects and cook. I'd do whatever is left on the housekeeping list. But thanks to someone else, all I see of Sam now is those fucking chicken anus lips of his. Always pursed and smug. Not to mention he doesn't like he is sensitive at all but just acts like he is so he can be praised and gushed over for being sensitive. He just seems creepily self-involved.
