  1. OK sleuths. I need someone to go to the wayback of 1999. There was a commercial where a woman is dreaming that her cat can talk. It's a tabby cat and it looks up at the woman and says, "Hello Maxine." This has become a catch phrase with MrWonder and since then, and we CANNOT figure out what the heck it was a commercial for.
  2. Does anyone remember a commercial from about 15+ years ago where the first line is, "You have a dream, and your cat can talk..." and they cut to a tabby cat saying, "Hello Maxine." Does ANYONE remember what the commercial was for? "Hello Maxine" has been a thing with my husband since then and it kills us that we can't remember what the commercial was for.
  3. But Andy Sandy did it with more panache.
  4. I legit loved the Ladd and Todd show.
  5. Got my googler out and Aunt Sandy's hat picture seems to be from the Central Park Conservancy Hat Lunch in 2011. I would SO like to see what Ree would wear to that event.
  6. Since she was cooking those vile looking ribs in a slow cooker anyway what was stopping her from going out to gather hay? I know it's a TV show with contrivances, but isn't the whole point of the slow cooker that you don't need to tend to it?
  7. Full disclosure, I will likely make a variation of this dinner for my Christmas Eve dinner - I make a variation of this dinner EVERY year on Christmas Eve. But I'm not going to film myself and pretend I invented the wheel. Edited to add, chimichurri pairs well with the grilled taste of steak, for every single grilled steak show we have endured she never once made it then? When it might have been an interesting jumping off point for more inventive sides? But prime rib demands horseradish, or jus. But not jus made with canned consomme. She could have used wine, but as we have been told ad nauseum, Ladd wont eat food cooked with wine. She always has a hunk of beef around the house - why not some beef stock or a demi glace? All of these things would have been more interesting than what was presented.
  8. I genuinely enjoy party scenes, but all the Alex and Meg graduation party episode taught us was how to cook beans, open cans, melt cheese and the need to hire A LOT of caterers.
