  1. She’s sitting next to outraged legislators who complain about “my tax dollars” going to support those they claim are “too lazy to work”. Applauding cuts to Medicaid, CHIP, school lunches, SNAP, and continuing to elect people who feel these mothers and kids deserve nothing.
  2. @ChiCricket, I loved your post and the photos. I can echo everything you said about the kindness and warmth of the Puerto Rican people. And, may I add, that Ziva is the coolest name ever!
  3. I hope Miss Cathy hasn’t had complications or a recurrence. Despite what we may think of her, she really cherishes little Izzy! I refuse to wish harm on others.
  4. I can think of quite a few, but I’m really trying hard to clean up my potty mouth.
  5. I have NO idea what the obtuse little stick insect is trying to say. He’s boring and banal and I am deriding his adolescent attempt to be clever. He may not touch my monkey.
  6. Hannie had that Lost Girl look down pat already. What a sad little girl.
  7. I remember how Anne of Green Gables loved puffed sleeves.
  8. I guess that I could understand that, but he could do it without being a dickhead. Clearly, I expect too much.
  9. Glad you’re back, ChiCricket. I’m sure you enjoyed the family part, though. Your husband enjoys cold showers because he takes them by choice. Right now, it’s the only choice. I would have been miserable as well. Just glad I’m no longer having to deal with my period. I feel so sorry for the poor women and girls who are dealing with this, and/or caring for children or the elderly. Not being able to wash properly and comfortably, or at all is really hard on human dignity. It’s a disgrace how these people are still suffering. I’m sure you enjoyed your bath. I don’t think you’re missing a gene; I doubt very much even the most seasoned and low maintenance vacationer would have not stayed so long under those conditions.
  10. But we’re all supposed to be the nuptials of @GeeGolly and @Celia Rubenstein
  11. I never thought about a tuna vindaloo, but it seems it could be pretty good. I love Indian and Thai food. Haven’t had any spicy food lately because chemo.?
  12. The French seem to be masters at taking humble, simple, ingredients, and turning them into the most delicious things. I wouldn’t mind roast every week now. I’d welcome a crockpot cooked meal that lasts for days. I wouldn’t have to do anything but put everything in a crockpot and switch it on.
  13. How many pages have been dedicated to roast already? I grew up in a British family where the tradition here and with my UK Family was Sunday roast. It was the 11th commandment: on Sunday’s shalt thou partake of roast. It was usually beef, sometimes lamb, but roast pork loin was a treat. I got tired of this routine meal, and longed for something else on Sundays, which already sucked due to limited cartoons that day and having to go to school on Monday. My best friend grew up in New England, and I asked her if she thought Sundays sucked growing up. She said, yeah cuz every Sunday we had to eat roast!
  14. Aja,when you come out of lurking, you just rock! There are many people who humbly and quietly do God’s work without tweeting to everyone about it. They give love and kindness to everyone regardless of race, color, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, regardless of where they worship. They also respect the choice of people to believe or not without judgment. It could be as simple as a smile, a kind word or gesture, or a hug. Those are type of Christians that even the most avowed atheist or skeptic respect over the likes of Endora or Derweed. If others come to me and ask about my faith, then I will share. Otherwise, I just shut my pie hole. A coworker barged in my office after hearing my other coworker talk about being a skeptic and started ripping her to shreds. I immediately leaped to her defense, stating that she was exercising her right to believe as she chooses. He got all sanctimonious, so I said. You, too, are entitled to your beliefs, but by being so judgmental, I’m sure you’ve put her off even more. Crickets.
  15. I don’t know how anyone in their right minds who would make this their date to watch these two simpering idiots brag about how they get to have sex but you don’t. And to eat the crappy food...
  16. Nasty, judgmental, hateful little stick insect!
  17. It’s the cucumbers and zucchini we need to worry about. Can’t have the boys fondling melons now, can we?
  18. No offense taken. I don’t think you offended anyone else, as posters here are kind and would understand no offense was meant. Considering you went through hell and back with your dx, so many people didn’t survive the prog you were given. To the other cancer survivors on this board, you are all badasses! Cathy should never demean the experiences of others. It’s a brotherhood/ sisterhood I’ve met many beautiful, people in my inpatient clinic who I’m in awe of. Many of them are sicker than I could ever dream of being, yet they keep on keeping on.
  19. @Rabbittron, thank God your son got through the surgery and it was benign. I am so relieved for all of you. I hope your little Bunnykin has a smooth recovery and easily meets his progress milestones. Sweet little boy.
