  1. It's been a really long time since I've flown internationally but maybe he got patted down in the DR and again when he hit US customs? Also, no one should fly Frontier. I'm not surprised they got stuck in Philly overnight. I was traveling once with some ex in-laws and we were flying from Minneapolis back to the east coast, and they cancelled our flight and offered us a flight to Denver with the promise of "trying to get you back to your destination" from Denver. We wound up taking a totally different airline, flying into a different airport, and needing to get rescued by family who drove us back to the original airport to get the cars. They'll be lucky if they get out of Philly this week if they're relying on Frontier.
  2. OUCH poor baby. I've busted an eardrum TWICE while flying. It's horrifying. First of all, it hurts like hell, and right when you think you can't possibly handle any more pain, it stops, which is great. Until you start bleeding out your ear, and then you get to have the anxiety response of "Oh god i'm dying oh god the guy next to me is going to think I have ebola AND that I'm a weirdo because I just shoved an entire pack of Trident Gum in my mouth to prevent this earsplosion" Followed by several days of antibiotic eardrops and a vaguely ringing ear. Good times. The only thing I will say is that it's not so hard to dodge it if Joy loaded the baby up on decongestants before the flight. There's also pressurizing earplugs that can help prevent it.
  3. Amazingly, it's like the discworld boots theory in action-where the rich man spends $75 one time on quality shoes and doesn't need to replace them for 10 years, while the poor man buys $10 shoes because that's all he can afford and buys them yearly, meaning over 10 years the poor man has spent more and has less to show for it.
  4. I rewatched with my son over the weekend and I agree, I think her temper tantrum was designed to make Ruby look over at it-she engages with Ruby right away to make SURE Ruby notices.
  5. I not only use Stealth Bros and Co thanks to their appearance on Shark Tank, but I've convinced a few buddies to pick up the dopp kits too. The Jr Dopp is really well-built and holds a lot of supplies (whatever you need, not just hormones/injectables).
  6. When my son was 6ish he wanted to do video game walkthroughs like he saw on youtube. So I set up a tablet and let him "film" himself playing video games. The only person who has those videos is me. Because he was 6. And he was playing pretend like we all did. Dax has no concept of what it means to be an influencer, and if he is asking for those kinds of things it's because he's imitating what he's seeing. He'd likely be just as happy with an "adventure" photoshoot sent to Deena alone or just made for time with his parents.
  7. This got debated on Reddit too. The consensus is that they spoke in the past tense because that was the old school. People articles and the book indicated they're in public school, but they've also been pretty close to the chest on specifics with their lives. I don't blame her for not sharing the name or details of the school currently. I'm not a public figure and I never share anything about my kid online, I try as much as possible to not share gender, age, or geographic location...her kids are somewhat more well known but it makes sense to just obfuscate what they can.
  8. I really want that ending to be a teaser for the next season...
  9. This definitely sounds like a "hey lets get married so we're legally protected/it's easier to cover health insurance" type move. But we also don't know that Meri and/or Audrey's family weren't involved in some way. Maybe they all did a Zoom group video while signing the forms, or maybe they all went out to dinner when everyone could get together. It's also more common (at least from my circle of queer friends) for people to have these quiet legal moments and then do dinner/party at another time. A lot of that was because the laws were a little wonky (like friends who got married in NY but then celebrated in a different state, or how I got civil union'd at a big party and then we got "married" for real over dinner when it was legal in my state) so none of this is shocking or all that weird. And Leon and Audrey seem to have switched from being very visible to living extremely private lives...so while they might have agreed to let the news hit that they got married, they might not have wanted to share who, if anyone, helped them celebrate-to be fair, most wedding announcements don't include a list of who the witnesses were and how many guests attended either. But good for them!
  10. Do we think Jinger had the same response to it that a friend from college had? A bunch of friends did the contest, and when one guy won everyone kept congratulating him, and this innocent girl at the table in the cafeteria asked if he'd won a contest, and he proudly declared "I didn't jack off for 22 days!" I am now imagining that exact conversation but with Jinger's face. It's making my terrible day much better.
  11. Thats not cool. First of all, if he were, it's never ok to clock a trans person and out them against their will. Second of all, it encourages the stereotype that trans people look a certain way-that trans women look manly, or that trans men have soft, feminine features. Not only does that encourage dangerous stereotyping against actual trans people, it also puts gender nonconforming cis people in the crosshairs too. Basically, even if that person was going for a "i'm gonna get the fundies MAD" approach, it's still transphobic and cruel, and possibly makes things more dangerous for people.
  12. I feel like that's a lot of assumptions to make off of one photo. No one has confirmed Leon officiated, and if they did, there's zero evidence they put themselves front and center. The only photo shared of just Leon not in a group photo was Meri's, and leon has been extremely quiet on social media. I get that Leon didn't present well on the show, and they've definitely posted some shitty stuff over the years, but in this particular case it's really hard to argue they were remotely kody-like. Their mother shared one photo, otherwise no one's said a thing, and they're getting raked over the coals and compared to their douchebag father for...existing? Also, if Leon did officiate it's not like they tackled the officiant and took over-presumably Gwen would have asked for them to get the proper paperwork to be an officiant for the day.
  13. Whatever they were doing there, that shot of Leon and Meri on reddit is great! Leon looked fantastic.
  14. He does swim classes right? Or am I confusing him with Jill's kids? The point is, he'll figure it out. My kiddo has two non-cis-male parents and we did not know what we were going to do about teaching him about urinals, besides sending him into mens rooms with my dad or brother, but he came home from camp one day and explained the other boys taught him how to pee without having to drop his pants to his ankles. So as long as Daxxy has some sort of socialization he'll learn quickly. Hopefully.
  15. Sydney Mclaughlin isn't southern. She went to college in KY but she grew up in Dunellen, NJ (they're extremely proud of her and there's signs up when you enter the town saying she grew up there). And if you tell someone from central NJ that they're southern that's 100% fighting words.
  16. You can find them for well under $1,000 if you go off-brand or buy an older model. I've seen them for as low as $500, but obviously then you're getting less bells and whistles. And depending on brand and quality you might have a higher risk of an exploding battery (like the "hoverboards" that got banned a few years ago). Walmart has a slew of them for $400-$600. If they're going low quality on both the bike and the motor it's totally possible.
  17. I just started taking testosterone and I ordered the regular dopp and the jr dopp from Stealth Bros and Co (I've been waiting to order it until then ever since I saw him on Shark Tank). I am super impressed-quite honestly, he's pricing these extremely fairly for the quality of the products and I'm super psyched to have supported him. I got both, so I have the big one to hold syringes and needles and the little one for when I'm traveling on shot day. The shipping was fast, and I really am impressed with how many little zips and sections there are in these-they're so cute!
  18. Well plus the Pope was in Pope-Jail because of the evil priest, though we don't know how long, or if we did I missed it. I saw a theory on Reddit that Mrs Davis is actually Clara or connected to Clara, and that's why she's set all these pieces in motion to destroy the grail. Personally, I feel like this show is like a half finished jigsaw puzzle. I know there's a way all these pieces will fit together but how?
  19. I would assume time is a little funky in Jesus's restaurant. So it's possible the pope visited 3 years ago but his visit intersected with Clara because that's how time needed to unfold? Also, it's super unclear if Arthur knew the mouse died from the grail and not from getting eaten by the cat, especially since the mouse's head didn't explode. The whole thing is a little unclear. I was watching this episode while my son was getting ready for bed and I screamed so loud when Clara's head exploded that my kiddo came running thinking I was hurt. I feel like a lot of the violence is cartoonish but maybe because Clara's story was so fleshed out it really upset me when she died.
  20. Many years ago my father and I met Barbara at an event where she was speaking. She hit on my dad. She's really like that. (FWIW my mom's take was "yea, your dad is hot, I'm glad the lady from TV agreed")
