  1. Despite its faults, I enjoy this how and I'll be sticking with it. I like seeing "real" people, not wannabe actors and models with their perfect bodies and immaculate hair and makeup. The schmaltz is over the top, but I can fast forward through that to get to the actual tasks. Although I kind of wish they would do a women-only season, because the tasks are mostly physical and very few women would stand a chance against the men, despite their skills and experience.
  2. I follow the Asher House on Facebook, and I'm in awe of Lee Asher and what he has done. I watched a brief snippet of the show, and it seems to have been filmed a while ago. He has moved to a new sanctuary, and has over 50 dogs in his care. He also has the farm animals, but they remain at the previous property while the new one is being renovated and barns are being built etc. Knowing what I know about him, I'll gladly watch this show. And yes, he certainly is easy on the eyes.
  3. I'm thinking Jorge is getting a winner's edit. We've heard a lot about his family, and he seems to perform well in almost all the challenges. I don't recall hearing as much about the other contestants' backstories as much as Jorge's. I wouldn't place any money on it, but right now, he's my frontrunner. Of course, I imagined a contestant named Paul, so what do I know?
  4. I agree that it's obvious that Synethia was chosen not for her skills, but for her story, and she did take a place away from a more qualified contestant. But saying that, I really like her. She has a great attitude,is not looking for sympathy, and if she's complaining, they're not showing it. I think there are two similar contestants who both bug me. Jake and I think Paul. Or Jake may be the only one, and I'm imagining the other. I am also so tired of listening to everyone's sad story. We heard it once, now shut up about it, and get down to work.
  5. In the Kate Hudson episode, while the backyard makeover was quite nice, I didn't feel it reflected the homeowner's desires, and she seemed underwhelmed, to me. Instead of French countryside, she got Property Brothers' white and grey. The shed/studio used to be quite quirky, now it's just another blah space. And one of the first things the lady said before the makeover was that she missed being able to do her spring planting. In that whole huge backyard, instead of giving her an actual garden, they gave her three raised planter boxes. Three, with no potting shed, But she did get a bocci ball court. Even though I don't recall her asking for one.
  6. They said the new judge, David Zilber, was leaving the show because his partner was due to have a baby any day. I thought it was strange that they had him and his partner select their favourite dish, but they didn't show them eating any of the dishes, nor critiquing them. Why bother including them at all?
  7. I re-watched the episode, and Jully does indeed look at multiple boards. However, the editing seems to make it appear that they didn't use the information in their calculations, and that Kathy may have eventually come up with the correct answer. But IMHO, cheating is cheating no matter whether it was deliberate or unintentional, so I believe both teams should have been eliminated, not just penalized. Maybe the powers that be were a little more lenient because of COVID taking out so many teams.
  8. I am so disappointed with Tychon and Cedric for outright cheating. I enjoy their dynamic, and Tychon is very easy on the eyes, but I have no respect for cheaters. At least with Jully and Kathy, it seemed that their look at the board was not for the purpose of cheating, and it didn't affect them because they did finally have the correct answer, but I believe T&C should have been given the boot along with J&K.
  9. Well, poop. The universe hates me, apparently.
  10. Since there will only be two chefs in the finale, I can't decide whether I want Erica to be eliminated prior to the finale and have her smug mug (TM DEL901) off my screen, or whether I want her to make it all the way to the end only to lose. I'm really hoping Kym wins. My second choice would have been Josh, but I fear that if he wins, Erica will also claim that as a victory. So if it can't be Kym, then I hope it's Andrea.
  11. Erica is certainly a nasty little piece of work, isn't she? It is so obvious that the producers want both Erica and Josh in the competition as long as possible to stir up the drama. I'm predicting a Josh/Erica/Kym finale. Kym is kicking butt, so I'm hoping they win.
  12. And he's not too hard on the eyes, either.
  13. I think he looks like Tom Cruise. Only more, shall we say, intense? Nutso? Bat Sh*t Crazy?
  14. My completely-out-there theory is that Jack dies tragically, probably in the process of doing something great, like saving someone's life, and becomes an organ donor. Who gets his heart? Miguel, which is why Rebecca marries him.
