  1. They seem addled this morning. Wake up morons!
  2. stormy, Twitter went into overdrive re the doc and the physical. http://toofab.com/2018/01/16/twitter-explodes-over-donald-trumps-physical-results-his-weight-and-use-of-propecia/ MJ having tech problems this morning. Plus Mika sounds drugged. Very slow and not reacting appropriately. ETA: thanks, millennium. I guess I clicked off a millisecond too fast...I was way disgusted with her.
  3. I agree with you, millennium. Joe was salivating over the Times' "in the spirit of open debate," feature this morning. I shouldn't be surprised though because for all of JS's so-called criticism of DJT, scarborough CANNOT STOP relating all of DJT's sins and transgressions to the "failures" of Obama and Bill Clinton. Joe's false equivalencies are constantly thrown in the convo wily-nilly, and Joe has no shame about it at all. I can't stand him. millennium, did you catch the very beginning of the show? Was I misunderstanding Mika, or am I losing my mind? Yesterday's big news was chief of staff Kelly's admission that Trump's campaign promises re The Wall were "uninformed." Yet when Mika read from the prompter, in her aggrieved, persnickety manner, I thought I heard her quote Kelly as saying "Trump was fully informed." Nobody corrected her, right? I do agree with the discussion just now talking about the WH suck-up physician's performance the other day. Very, very strange and Trumpian, and I don't care that he was Obama's doc too. That doc NEVER was so effusive over Mr O.
  4. Happy New Year, everyone! Wishing you all good health and peace. This morning, John Heileman told Katty and the panel that his show, The Circus, will return to Showtime in 2018. His new co-host is Alex Wagner (who is fantastic, IMO). Halperin's name was not uttered. I've been tough on Noah Rothman in the past (and I still think he's too young to always look so dissipated) but he was more evenhanded and intellectually open this morning, IMO. I can warm to him if he keeps it up. Katty just signed off by saying Joe should be recovered enough to be back on the show tomw. No mention of Mika.
  5. I thought Evelyn and David seemed happy and content during the Tell-All/Reunion. Like a real newlywed-couple enjoying each other. I wish them luck and happiness.
  6. Luis scares me a little. He's calculating and dark-hearted, in my opinion. He cares only for himself and nobody else. Molly seems like a nice woman, though she's deaf, blind and dumb when it comes to her husband. Oftentimes, I see true emotion cross her face and eyes, especially when her feelings get hurt. Her fervent desire to hold on to Luis is pathetic to me. Why would he not sit next to her on the couch during the Tell-All/Reunion? Why was he so belligerent to her? According to what Molly said, Luis had returned to her home and was making attempts to fit in with the family (packing Kensley's lunch; stopping at the market "unasked.") So why the sour disposition on the couch? Is it a macho-act? Unlike many of the American sad sacks we've seen on 90-Day, Molly could have (I think) found a decent American guy, closer to her age and happy to be with her. She really didn't need this headache named Luis.
  7. Annie seemed somewhat content during the Tell-All/Reunion. She's no wilting flower, and she can hold her own. David is a creep and a phony. I dislike him. When he started giving critiques and advice to the other couples, I wanted him to.just.shut.up. The nerve of him.
  8. I thought Elizabeth and Andrrrrrrrei seemed like a normal, happy couple during the Tell-All/Reunion. Andrrrrrrrei seemed concerned for Molly, too. I'm happy for E and A and wish them good luck.
  9. I was actually getting nervous during the Tell-All/Reunion. I thought for sure that all of Shaun's teasing meant that Azan would finally walk out to surprise Nicole. I cannot tell you how relieved I was that that didn't happen. Nicole needs to take The Hint (sledgehammer-induced) and forget the guy. STOP sending money, stop calling. Every time she cried that she "loves him so much," I yelled back at the TV, "WHY?!" IMO, Azan never even liked her, let alone loved her.
  10. I thought both Aika and Josh came across as low-key, decent people during the Tell-All/Reunion. Josh seemed genuinely concerned and sad for clueless Nicole and stubborn, foolish Molly. I was pleasantly surprised by Aika and Josh.
  11. Plus, Chris said he had a car waiting in Kentucky for David Poor to use. Annie's disappointment in the Firehouse was palpable. It looked to be in an industrial district. God. She will be stuck there alone all day, with no transportation. And I personally don't think it's safe, either.
  12. I was thinking the same thing. Those two are a real-life, pathological Odd Couple. I'm not a David Spain fan, but I truly believe his discomfort was mostly due to the camera crew's presence. If he really is sexually inexperienced, he doesn't want to talk about it in public and possibly reveal how clueless he is to a tall, hunky American crew. However, David really did fall apart, didn't he? Made me think all his contrarian bravado has been an act to cover his insecurities. Elizabeth needs a better bra and fit. Just because she's busty doesn't mean she needs to look like a prison matron. I absolutely, positively HATE, DETEST, ABHOR adults who get their kicks from mocking, teasing or ridiculing little children. Luis is a real fuck. If Molly goes through with this stupid fantasy, she is a disgraceful mother.
  13. Rice, Gates, Baker etc all actually PUSHED for Tillerson. I remember the events well. http://www.cnn.com/2016/12/13/politics/rex-tillerson-robert-gates-condoleezza-rice/index.html. (RiceHeadleyGates is a strategic consulting firm.) I agree that the discussion concerning Tillerson's assassination of the State Dept was worthwhile, except nobody ever talks about the elephant in the room, that is, Tillerson is just another fox in the henhouse appointed by DT. It's not really Tillerson blowtorching State -- it's the Boss. I'm sorry I missed the first half-hour of the show though. You all had me laughing.
  14. Little May was VERY aware of her mother's upset, and the child was frightened of the agitation between Azan and Nicole. It's obvious that Azan detests Nicole and wants her gone. I truly hope those two don't marry. Did you notice that when the camera pulled back during the kitchen scene with pathetic David Poor, the Manicurist from earlier was there watching the Antonio mayhem from behind the camera? I guess they had invited her to the BBQ, but then decided she didn't fit into the whole "showdown" scenario by the hot tub? Poor Annie said she had to sleep on the floor her first night in America because David Poor was so drunk he was splayed over the entire bed. Mrs Chris is quite beautiful, and she has two gorgeous children. Please stop cursing in their presence, Mama! They DO hear you. I think I actively dislike Molly because she is WILLFULLY choosing to disregard all the signs that Luis is NOT marriage material. He's sure not happy to be a parent or responsible for household maintenance. Molly is foolish. I was amused by the guys' strip club attire. Molly's bro wore a jacket and tie, and left his long locks flowing, while Luis decided on an outfit from the House of Monsieur Organ-Grinder's Monkey. Come on! The bowtie, the suspenders. What a look. Oh, and btw, if he was truly lusting after the dancers (and his longing did seem legit) those women were totally different body types than Molly. Is he really physically attracted to Molly? I've wondered about that from the beginning. And Molly's clothing choices this episode were holy moly. God bless her, she's happy with herself and comfortable in her own skin, for sure. Evelyn is too young to get married, too spoiled and sheltered. But I truly dislike David Spain. I don't trust him. It seems he goes out of his way to be a contrarian. The shtick is already old, just a few weeks in. And, for all their accusations of "elitism," it seemed to me that Evelyn's parents were fine with recognizing David as "head of household," and Evelyn's boss. The Elizabeth Coven is punking us, right? They canNOT be for real! They're ridiculous, and make me root for Andreiiiiiiiiii. Josh and "best friend" Joe are serious drunks. They were loaded in the middle of the afternoon during their tete a tete In front of their weird array of shotglasses.
  15. I've fallen down the sheepshead rabbit hole. Oy. Ok, in Morocco, EVERY part of the head is eaten, except the eyeballs. I'm skipping this treat. http://noteatingoutinny.com/2008/01/30/eating-out-in-marrakesh-part-i-the-good-the-so-so-and-the-sheeps-head/
  16. I just googled. It's a real dish, but Auntie Azan's presentation was a no no. https://www.thespruce.com/moroccan-steamed-sheeps-head-2394801 https://www.meridian.net/morocco/2017/1/26/14372062/how-to-eat-a-sheeps-head-moroccan-food
  17. A Tale of Two Davids Annie/BrokeAssDavid/At theKangarooHop: Ach! This guy is so terrible that I actually feel sorry for Annie. I hope she breaks things off. I don't think David wears scrubs. The shirts look like Henleys to me, and his pants look like Aladdin harem pants. Thing is, he really fills out those ballooning pants, in the ass, the stomach and thighs. Very weird body shape. He's ultra creepy, broke, a drunk, no prospects, no home, afraid to tell his family about Annie. Takes off his ring, hides Annie's ring during facetime. What's wrong with this picture? However, did you happen to see the other sad sacks sitting at the end of the bar at the bachelor parties? White, bald, hunched over their booze. Methuselahs! Man. Maybe David seems more attractive compared to many other men Annie has met? It's all so pathetic! Evelyn/SpanishDavid/TheTroubleWithVirgins: Evelyn is a spoiled, sheltered, overly-indulged 18-year-old girl. She's naive and foolish and silly. Definitely Not Ready for marriage. But David? He's not a good guy. I don't like his attitude, not at all. Is all the wedding-planning angst just part of their storyline, because they are THAT boring, otherwise? I think that idea is very likely. However, if the push and pull are the Truth of their relationship, then I think Evelyn should open her eyes. Imo. As far as Evelyn's seeming intransigence toward her wedding-dreams, none of it bothers me or surprises me at all. When I was 22, a college gf asked me to be her maid of honor and wedding planner. Twelve years later, I have assisted friends and relatives with more than a dozen weddings! Big ones, intimate affairs, fancy, casual, backyards and destinations. Word spread that I was organized, responsible, and completely open to helping everybody achieve what they wanted. I respected their budgets. And I had a GOOD time. (But I'm not a professional! :) I'm a social worker with a lot of patience.) Some of these events had 50/50 couple participation, some had a bride or groom in charge, with the partner too busy or too disinterested to get into the nitty gritty details. Some had parents and/or in-laws paying, some couples paid for everything themselves. Sometimes kids were invited, sometimes excluded. Feelings were sometimes hurt, arguments happened. Emotions ALWAYS ran high. Like anything worth doing, weddings are stressful! IMO, the key to a successfully planned wedding is a SENSE OF HUMOR, as well as a manageable flexibility. When it was my turn to wed, my fiance and I were a real team, cause we had a common goal, and we loved each other. My parents and grams helped with a lot of grunt work, and I skyped with my future MIL to ask her input and to keep her in the loop. She asked me to fly from nyc to the Midwest to help her find her wedding outfit, and I did. If what we are watching with Evelyn and David is genuine, and not just phony, made-for-tv, this couple just can't communicate and neither has a sense of humor. Yes, Evelyn is spoiled, but David is controlling. His reaction shots often reveal, to me, a barely-contained, simmering anger. He seems to catch himself for the camera. So either he's a pretty good actor, or he's not a good guy. Evelyn, what's the rush?
  18. Molly/Luis/TheElephant in the Room: EVERYTHING about Molly is too much! Her glue-on, inch-long nails, her arched-villain-brows, her exaggerated accent, her eating/drinking habits, her fantasy of being a fairytale princess who finally found THE ONE! From the waist up, her breasts and torso, arms and shoulders look like they're imprisoned in some kind of bulletproof, mega super spanx underarmour torture chamber. How does she breathe? Luis is the elephant in the room though. He took pleasure in embarrassing Olivia and her gf with his suggestion. And when told not to talk about fucking again, he repeated himself over and over. He was getting off on what he was telling Olivia. Last week and this episode, I noticed Molly is now driving. Yet the camera is careful not to show her behind the wheel. We can see Luis in the passenger seat, and we can see Molly exit the driver's side. But no actual driving. Hope she's back on the road legally. Elizabeth/Andrei/RollinRrrrrrrrs: in last week's show, Andrei introduced himself in his first TH. He did NOT pronounce his first name with that rolling Andrrrrrrrrrrrrrei that Libby insists on. What's wrong with this chick? She keeps telling us Andrei has a bad temper. Why? What he has done? Why does she tolerate it? What's her game? Is this entire relationship a way to show Dad that she's in charge now? Or is it a way for her to get Dad to be her knight in shining armor and give her the attention she says she's not gotten as the youngest of many siblings? And why is she obsessed with clubbing and girls' nights? Jeez. Really immature person. Andrei is a barely contained powder keg, like a human IED, or a Moldovan Cocktail! How did they meet again? Lordy. I wonder if we will ever get to see the Ballroom Blitzer that Andrei supposedly is. I feel an audition for DWTS is in our future.
  19. I can't help but feel that several of this season's scenarios are blatant setups for maximum drama and/or to punch up some extremely boring couples: Nicole/Azan/Auntie Azan: If SheepsheadBayGate was a real thing, then why weren't Azan and Auntie chowing down? Why weren't they seated at a table, with cutlery and drinks? Why wasn't BaaBaaBlackSheep presented in an appetizing manner, instead of plopped on a platter with protruding eyes, nose, brains. I think the entire event was strictly producer-driven. Oh, Nicole was disgusted for sure, but not disgusted enough not to try to push a morsel on poor May. "Taste it! It's chicken!" Also, Nicole (and Azan) committed one of my "neglectful-parents'-top 10-deadly-sins-list" that is tattooed on my brain. That is, when at a beach/lake/pool, PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR CHILDREN! Do NOT chat or read a magazine or nap or make out with your partner or turn your back to check out the hot guy/girl practicing yoga. People! Ever since I was around 15, I have been chasing after strangers' toddlers and preschoolers, ignored and abandoned, at water's edge. I don't want to hear the excuse that this lovely couple knew they were surrounded by a watchful tv crew. I don't buy it. Both of them were perfectly comfortable to allow May to disappear from view. And Nicole, in her beached-whale repose, had no interest in chasing after her kid. Why is Azan with Nicole exactly? He hates her, thinks she's disgusting, doesn't respect her, has no interest in her whatsoever. Is he really going to immigrate and marry her? God. And another thing, idiots!! You are taking a small child to the beach? How about splurging on a pail and shovel, or just an old bowl and spoon from AuntieBaaBaa's apt? You know? So, like, the kid, like, doesn't have to sit in the cigarette butts flailing sand over her head by the handsful. You know? Aika/Josh/"TalentAgency" Motley Crew: BubbaBowTie! Grandmas in Muumuus and Wigs! World-Weary 20-somethings, mute yet exchanging knowing glances. In a "talent/modeling agency" in Arizona. In a strip mall? LOL LOL. Just NO. Color me shocked when they told Aika she wasn't a good candidate though. I thought the contracts would appear, stipulating the need for hundreds of acting lessons, makeup/hair coaching, speech, presentation, yada yada. The entire thing was another setup for our viewing pleasure, IMO. Not that Josh doesn't WANT Aika to model. But it's gonna be via webcam for paying customers from his lonely room. He's a schlump, isn't he? I am guessing that even though he has no relationship with his children, he is very likely paying court-ordered child support, which is automatically deducted from his paycheck. IOW, sorry, Aika, no new babies for you plus he's thinking your "modeling," will bring him some money, cause he's broke. I guess there are pregnant-woman fetishists out there via webcam, but Josh won't go for that. (The K1 visa approvals this season are truly suspect.) I think I like Aika. I mean, she's ultra self-conscious of her looks (the constant playing with her hair, for example) and I think her "ingenue/Im-just-a-simple-girl" shtick is phony as hell, but she doesn't give me a bad vibe, unlike Josh. She says she's 36, maybe closer to 40, and she realizes time isn't her friend. So she's settled for this American moron and his roommate loser friends, who will be her first webcam customers, btw. For now, I'll give her a break.
  20. The Clinton Foundation does great work, oakville. :) I see it living on long after Bill and Hillary are gone. There has been lots of talk in NY about Chelsea running for office. She's an intelligent woman, and God knows she's seen how dirty and ugly politics can be, so she wouldn't be a naive person diving into the shark tank. Personally, I'd rather she didn't run. She continues to make an impact on public welfare through the foundation, and she has two little ones to enjoy. Running for, then serving in, public office is all-consuming, I think. But I am biased because I hate politics. :)
  21. This made me LOL, @WhineandCheezEWHINWH I could tell you stories! Mika and her Know Your Own Value shtick have always been laughable to me...in the vein of the Empress having no clothes. IMO, she's not good at her job. She can't even read off the prompter coherently. And forget her contributing thoughtful or rational commentary or questions. She can't. Compare her to her guests or regulars. Or anybody else on CNN or msnbc. She's not up to par. Yet she's lasted 10 years and she's making good money. Is the lesson that her "own value" is based on sex with a coworker who had the power to keep her or replace her? I don't get what she can teach women re empowering themselves. If she had any self-awareness, she'd be embarrassed.
  22. The Clinton Foundation is still active, oakville. :) Charity Navigator rates it at their highest 4 stars: https://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=16680 https://www.clintonfoundation.org I hope Joe is not going to go all Hannity on the uranium deal. At the least, he should read this first: https://www.forbes.com/sites/jamesconca/2017/10/27/claims-of-clinton-russia-uranium-scandal-are-a-real-empty-barrel/#7b3da5287b55 I have tried to watch The Circus, Halperin's and Heilman's series on Showtime, many times. But something about Halperin always repelled me. I thought Mika's dramatic reading on Friday was shockingly wrongheaded and tone deaf, especially in light of her relentless criticism of HRC re Weinstein. Mika's emphasis on their friendship with Halperin, the anonymity of some accusers and the dates of the abuse make her a hypocrite. Her "innocent until proven guilty," is irrelevant since MH has admitted his behaviors. Is Mika that blind and stupid? She never had an inkling? I've liked Heilman but now I wonder about him too. His silence is deafening, and he had to know about Halperin.
  23. His spokesman has released two statements on the Heather Lind situation. A second actress has come forward too. Mr Bush evidently has a joke he likes to tell as a prelude to his grabs. And it looks like Mrs Barbara Bush has been aware for some time. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/arts-and-entertainment/wp/2017/10/25/george-h-w-bush-apologizes-for-attempt-at-humor-after-actress-accused-him-of-groping/?utm_term=.a3a3c9e53749 @oakville, exposed zippers are a big fashion detail right now. I just bought a dress very similar to the one Elise is wearing. :) @MyAimIsTrue, you're right, but since my Yankees were knocked out, my heart isn't in the WS! Selfish, I admit! The Astros and Dodgers are mind-blowing.
