  1. Oh, this is what came to my mind too when he shared. As someone else noted, I don't like Nate, but I am interested in where they are going with the character. Given how many episodes are left I wonder if his "break" will happen next season. I can't remember when I have so looked forward to show. It's just perfect for these times. Even the most cynical of my friends agree that it manages to be endearing and sweet without being saccharine (for the most part).
  2. I generally enjoyed it as a fairly mindless binge, but I thought this was the biggest eye roll of the plot. I could live with the handwaving involved with the cat-fishing office admin being conveniently married to a murderous sociopath, but Nick wasn't portrayed as an unfeeling idiot. He was injured, and knew that his family and others would be beyond worried, and the first place he heads is to confront the person he suspected was behind the cat-fishing? Zero sense. I also agree with the posters who identified the acting as a big selling point of the series.
  3. And Georgia looks so much like Piper Peroboo's doppelganger, it took me out of the story for awhile.
  4. I really enjoyed the series as well. I knew going in that it would have a hopeful, happier ending based on two friends' recommendations. I binged it in one day, and the performances, sets, costumes were all top notch. Enough layers that it will be worth a second watch. Also agree that the Jolene character treads on the "Magical Negro" trope and it feels like additional scenes would have mitigated that. I found it interesting (as someone above pointed out) that Jolene's dialog has her specifically disclaiming that that is her role, which leads me to believe that of course the writers were aware that some may label the character as such. But as others have stated, Moses Ingram is a terrific actress and I look forward to seeing her in other roles. And wow does the camera love Anya Taylor-Joy. The only other thing I knew her from was a Hozier music video, ha, so she was pretty new to me. Thanks for this! Totally missed this. Again, this is a series worth a second view (for me).
  5. I assumed from her smile back in the room that that is exactly why she did play those (and perhaps lost)--to learn his weaknesses. I assume he played because, ego. Oh, thank you! I didn't even realize I was trying to figure out who he reminded me of, but this is it exactly.
  6. I felt like I was in upside-down world. Not only did I believe this, but I thought Jonny's runway look was his accessible look. I like the idea of some aspects of the show, the execution failed tho, I'll stick through the end although not sure I care who wins. I was a big fan of Esther's from the beginning, but the last two shows from her were disappointing. The biggest surprise for me is that Naomi is my favorite judge.
