  1. Hah, there is NO WAY anyone thought COREY was going to win that HOH comp. I groaned when that happened. He was literally the least interesting option to be HOH in this episode. At least it seems like Sunday might be interesting. I pray that, as it seemed, Paul might be over Paulie. I don't really like Paul, but I like him more than I like Paulie, and it is going to be hard to get Paulie out if Paul isn't part of that plan.
  2. I pray to the spirit of Evil Dr Will that a woman wins HOH tonight and puts Paulie and Victor up, with Paul as the back-up if one of them wins Veto. It is so freaking frustrating that NO ONE IS DOING ANYTHING to flip the script. Here's my question: Can James hang onto those two vote-cancelations for an indefinite time, or does he have to use them tonight? For me, the difference was that it was fascinating to see Derrick manipulate people into doing what he wanted without them even really realizing what he was doing. I thought it was interesting to watch him use his undercover cop skills -- I found him interestingly subtle (as much as I recall, anyway), and also, as you'd imagine, he was good at sort of figuring out the best way to deal with various personalities. So I found that interesting from almost a psychological perspective. Speaking of psychological perspectives, I am being hyperbolic, but Paulie feels more like a sociopath every week. One of the reasons his brother did so well, I think, was that he was (as much as I remember) pretty likeable. Paulie is just cold.
  3. It's so so so frustrating to know that, judging from history (and the people in question), the women are not going to try to get it together to break up the dudes somehow. This season is SO BAD, and so poorly cast. The men who aren't total misogynists are COMPLETELY INEFFECTUAL. I like James well enough but he wasn't a game player in his first season, particularly, and he's basically a floater this season, too. And Corey -- how did Corey get cast? Has he EVER had a game suggestion? I find Nicole annoying, but at least she does stuff (even if said stuff, like telling Frank everything Day ever said, is ill-advised). Paulie and Paul are unbearable, and Victor is a complete ass. But now that Day is gone, none of the women seem to me like they are even playing -- unless there is a lot more strategy talk than we're seeing, which I doubt. Which means there is no one to root for, as far as I am concerned. I like Natalie and Z both but neither of them seem like they are actually that trying that hard to win this and I can't see a way for either one of them to pull it off at this point, although I'd love it. It's frustrating. I honestly think that if there had been a few stronger players in the cast, it would have been a totally different season. Paulie is clearly very pleased with his Big Brother Skills, but I think he would have a had a much, much, much rougher time if he'd been up against a Derrick or an Evil Dr Will (who would have eaten him for lunch), a Dan, or a Janelle. Or, honestly, a Rachel Reilly even. I think Paulie and Paul are actually both decent players, but they are REALLY benefiting from the fact that NO ONE ELSE in this season other than Day and Frank have tried ANYTHING. I think Bridgette is going to turn out to the the Victoria of this season and end up, inexplicably, in the finals.
  4. I just need to say that I really really dislike Bridgette and her leg-swinging, foot-kicking, giggling, aw-shucks, childish mannerisms. There is something about her behavior that makes me profoundly uncomfortable.
  5. Cary is legit the worst fake-crier I have ever seen on reality TV. I have NEVER seen a more patently phony tear-fest.
  6. Brian is THE WORST. I don't even care about this show, and I'm not that wild about Brandi, and yet his behavior filled me with RAGE. Even if they are having financial problems, or he had a rough trip -- too bad, dude. This is a huge moment for your wife, your mother-in-law, your siblings-in-law, and your KIDS -- and haven't he and Brandi been together since they were 12? So he KNOWS what a big deal this is. You suck it up and act like a decent human being for the sake of the people you love for a couple of hours. I haaaaaaate him now.
  7. Heather is totally correct that my answer is the royal wedding. I AM NOT ASHAMED. (I also have a two hour Swimming Highlights Reel from the London Olympics, because abs.)
  8. I'd just like to officially apologize for calling Sweden, "no, THE OTHER ONE."
