  1. This elderly lesbian viewer is delighted to see brief but believable sex between women on TV. I do think it lets us see Baldwin's emotional neediness, hidden behind her assassin's mien.
  2. http://fenway03.tumblr.com/post/150071061115/saw-your-comment-on-another-blog-that-the-randi Blogger tears apart the finale (without mention of Rizzles): "Jane gets nothing. Frankie gets it all." She's right!
  3. Good point. My following the actors as well as the show can make for confusion.
  4. What a disappoinment. That wasn't the Jane Rizzoli I loved from the first four seasons (before Jan Nash): she wouldn't have worn that ridiculous outfit, she'd have mentioned Frost by name, she didn't squeal, she would have hugged her BFF. Instead we got a penis cake (really?),way too much Angela and Ron, the making of videos which actually kept the characters apart, and Maura Isles leaving her beloved forensics lab without a tear (Sasha wept after the camera went off). A reboot? Please, no. http://www.tvguide.com/news/rizzoli-isles-series-finale-postmortem/
  5. Rizzoli & Isles Mega Buzz: The Finale Might Not Be a Real Goodbye http://www.tvguide.com/news/rizzoli-isles-series-finale-scoop-jane-maura-spoilers/ If this TV Guide brief was by anyone other than Joyce Eng, I'd dismiss it as clickbait. But she's interviewed showrunner Jan Nash several times and seems a reputable writer. R&I fans (shippers and non) are upset with the upcoming announced separation of the titular characters. Though this photo has raised all sorts of questions (including why is Jane wearing Angie's clothes?). Is Maura holding a plane ticket or two to Paris?
  6. I watched from the beginning and became a Rizzles shipper before the pilot ended. We don't have to agree.
  7. The "Jane got laid" banter between her and Maura was distasteful to me. ("Two desserts. And breakfast." Chuckles) Who needs to know orgasm counts? Just those who are still troubled by Rizzles shippers wanting Jane and Maura together as lovers, I assume. Gay showrunner is determined to het up all her characters. What about Kent? Will the duck return? What about Maura? Maybe Jack will move back to Boston. Is that everybody?
  8. I'm pleased that Maura didn't give up on her writing and is going to Paris. Perhaps she'll meet a French version of Jane and fall in bed, or even in love with her (yes, her). Jane's "relationship" with Agent Ugly Blue Suit violates all sorts of rules, but this is TV so who cares. Fortunately her house-sit lacks a usable upstairs, so we were spared the sight of them in bed. I never expected Rizzles, but I wanted Jane and Maura to remain in Boston, doing their jobs, being best friends. I don't know why Jan Nash/TNT/WB destroyed that show. Fortunately, I have DVDs, fic, gifs, fan boards, etc.
  9. A tumblr blog post that's getting a lot of attention among Rizzles shippers like me. An ending I'd prefer. http://leighlew3.tumblr.com/post/149419323476/heading-into-the-finale
  10. I put some speculation, based on Tweeted stills of the finale, on the R&I in the Media thread. Is that okay?
  11. My Rizzles shipper version: Maura drives Jane to Quantico, bites her lip so as to not kiss in public, watches Jane walk away, then tosses her keys to some NAT, and runs after Jane screaming, "Jane, I love you, wait for me!" If only they had the intestinal fortitude.
  12. On second thought, having read Jan Nash's "Near Beer" tweet, I shake my elderly head in amazement: live-tweeting important character info instead of having it in the script? Somethings' wrong here.
  13. Missed that Near Beer clarification. I hope someday to learn just what Jan Nash and TNT/WB agreed on for R&I. No homo, obviously. What cowards.
  14. In the meantime, Tommy can do plumbing work at BPD, filling a Rizzoli slot. Sad to see the writers had Tommy drinking (again), when the last time we saw him he was in AA. I wish they'd stay away from serious medical conditions: biliary atresia can be treated with a liver transplant. Of course, we knew the baby would live by some sort of miracle. Who were those Mason family members at the cemetery? "Animal Kingdom" auditioners?
  15. The FBI job just isn't Jane Rizzoli. Remember the pros and cons that she and Maura discussed? There's nothing in the teaching job that appeals to Jane. She loves action and danger and solving crimes. And there's no way the Jane Rizzoli of past seasons (even once in awhile now) would leave Maura, her best friend.
  16. Sizzle? No. Just another blah man. Sadly, Jane Rizzoli is fizzling out as a strong, independent woman. But even after 7 seasons, R&I hasn't found a man who she sizzles for. Maura Isles, on the other hand? Rizzles sizzles!
  17. I've read that both women wanted to direct and contractually could have as early as season 2, but their schedules were too full. It's pretty obvious that showrunner2.0 Jan Nash is smitten with Angie; we assume that's why Angie got #100. I found the fireplace scene strange: summer day, yet a fire is roaring and blankets cover their laps? Could it be a way to avoid the traditional close on a couch? There was no synchronized phone answering either. Jan Nash is disappearing R&I before my eyes.
  18. Maura to Jane: "Look, I like Tommy [Rizzoli] . A lot. But I love you." 2x12 "He Ain't Heavy. He's My Brother" Oh, how I miss developer and initial showrunner Janet Tamaro. Her R&I had emotional depth.
  19. I knew it wouldn't happen but...wouldn't it have been fun if NIna's mother had scorned Frankie as a boyfriend? And if Ron had come to the Dirty Robber to tell Angela to stay out of his life? And, most of all, if Jane (once known as Jealous Jane) had demanded an explanation of Maura's secret college marriage? When Maura was dating Garrett Fairfield, by the way. Showrunner Jan Nash appears to be pairing off all the characters in heterosexual relationships as fast as she can; what will she do with Jane & Maura? I hate the thought. Ken Hanes wrote this episode (and a dozen, much better), before it. If he didn't get Maura's ex, why should we?

  21. An example of the teasing from 4 years ago. Nostalgia! http://shycube.tumblr.com/post/28063945831/x
  22. Showrunner Jan Nash has ignored R&I canon before, but this is outrageous! If Maura Isles ever had been married, she would have told Jane, her best friend. And the Take a Chance wedding chapel wouldn't be Dr. Isles' style, even if she and Det. Jane Rizzoli were to wed. (Which they do, in fanfiction.)
  23. Don't worry. Rizzles ain't on the table. Jan Nash made that clear from Day One. Yes, Nash is aware of the rabid Jane-and-Maura-'shipping. "I will say that we are grateful to have such a devoted audience," she says. "There are so many shows that don't make it out of their first seasons and many of those that do don't make it out of their second seasons. There are very few shows that get to 92 episodes, which is where we'll be after this season. That only happens if you have a devoted, loyal fan base that cares about the characters and the work the actors are doing. We're grateful for that. The people who see the show a certain way and want it to be that, we're grateful that they love the show as much as they do... and that's really all I'm gonna say about it." http://www.tvguide.com/news/rizzoli-isles-season6-spoilers/
  24. A couple of weeks ago, an Atlanta resident pointed out on the show's Facebook that one of the aerial views was of Atlanta, not Boston. I rewatched and confirmed via Google. I've wanted Rizzles for years, but wouldn't trust this bunch to go there. Angie and Sasha, yes. The writers, no.
