  1. For me, the whole Bindi thing is that she always is "on". By that I mean that she always seems to be over dramatizing and performing. She has been in front of the camera since she was a very young girl and she is a natural...just like Shirley Temple. It's like she is narrating a show for the cameras..actually, being in front of one and performing are second nature to her. As opposed to Alek who has no idea about performing for cameras, etc. I find him more refreshing.
  2. I think Alek and his two friends are destined to effect some positive change well beyond this dance show. They have a platform and I believe that Alek and co. will use it wisely for the greater good. Too airy fairy? Maybe, but they seem like really great guys and want to sincerely help mankind.
  3. In my opinion...Bindi has won from day one, so if/when she hoists that trophy up it will be anticlimactic. I will be doing my darnedest to vote Nick for the win, however. I think his and Bindi's dance abilities are similar but he impressed the heck out of me by the way he stepped up for Tamar. That cemented it for me.
  4. After seeing how Nick really came through for Tamar and looked after her,I have really developed a new found respect for him. I was not a fan of his band and had others that I have been rooting for in this competition but he has earned my vote when it comes to the finals. So In my case, Tamar dancing under the weather with him didn't hurt him..it made me want to start voting for him. I'm sure that I am not the only one.
  5. We really don't know for a fact that no one knew where Tamar was, least of all Val. All I saw was a bunch of people saying " Have you seen Tamar", etc. I don't trust producer manipulations and those supposed " searches " could be spliced together from other times. Why jump to the negative conclusion?
  6. I wonder how many people expressing " concern" for Tamar and suggesting she drop out because her health is more important, really just want her gone so their fave can stay in. I will keep voting for her and Val ( along with Alek ) because I like watching them dance and I don't like being manipulated by producers to make me dislike them. When these two are gone...could be next week...I will probably vote for Nick, half heartedly though.
  7. I truly feel that whomever you like, colors how you view their performance...to a degree, anyway. How else can one person think Carlos, for example, is great while another thinks his dancing is flawed. It is so subjective. Add in the inflammatory edits by producers and you just don't have a true depiction of the dancers, pros or the show for that matter. I'm sure that if you polled some people and first had them watch a dance ( lets say Alek or Tamar) without any interviews before) then had them watch the same dance with negative edit, their feelings about the dance and dancer would change. That's just human nature...to a point. I'm sure you can try to avoid the obvious show's manipulations but it's just not gonna happen for the casual viewer.
  8. Alek was honored at the World's Series in New York (with Lindsey) last night. Sweet video and really nice tribute... sorry, I don't know how to link it here.
  9. My prediction is that Alek will come back strong this week...and by that I mean that he will be smiling and having fun. As others have said, he's already making a good chunk of money and he definitely doesn't need this show to further his career. He's not trying to make any kind of "comeback". When his run is over, he'll most likely be the most popular guy at the party or pub with lots of stories to tell. Although, he's probably more than a little disillusioned with the whole Hollywood/ reality biz.
  10. I think in Alek's case, his scores would seem fair if others weren't being so overscored. If all scoring were being done fairly,ie..8's and 9's then maybe Alek wouldn't feel like his 7's were so bad. Nonetheless, I can guarantee that every contestant has had their share of meltdowns ( well, maybe not St Bindi) it's just whom the producers choose to show. I mean, come on....showing Alek adjusting his package was just tacky on their part, not his. Anyone who looks down on him for that is just looking for any excuse to turn on him. He's a hero and heros need to make sure that everything is adjusted accordingly before they spring into action, lol (that last part was a joke) I hope Lindsey schools him on how the show works a little more and he again gets the "fun factor " back, which I think he might have lost for a time.
  11. After reading all comments about producer manipulation ( negative, trumpted up edits) I think that from now on I am going to vote for whomever it seems that the producers don't want me to. If enough of us did this, then they might get the message and stop with this blatant manipulation. Oh, who am I kidding? It probably won't help but I will do it anyway. I agree with all who say Tamar, Alexa and to a lesser extent Alek are getting hosed while " Bindi the Perfect " is getting way to many passes.
  12. Exactly..... He was just giving proper credit where it was due. I also hope that that was prophetic for when he wins his own award...even though I would hope they wouldn't cut him off like Tom had to, lol
  13. This seems to be a pattern with this show. Celebs get praised to high heaven, only to be knocked down, only to have a " redemption arc" and get built back up. The same will probably happen to Tamar but will be too little too late.
