Remember is S2 or S3 when Whitney took Shep and the other guys out to a party in LA and Whitney joked about how Shep’s “schtick” just didn’t work on LA gals like it did on Southern gals? It was kinda funny to witness how his corny flirting style was met with such instant derision in a much bigger and more cosmopolitan city: smart women don’t fall for that cheesy fake humble “awww shucks” vibe Shep still desperately clings to around women.

Yes- that whole ep was good.  Remember Whits guitar playing to his “girlfriend!”

Shep should have left this show.  I was his #1 fan early on but man, not so much now.  He’s declined in all aspects.  And he hasn’t done anything to my knowledge.  He had a bar- is that still around?  He shits on Craig who has a store and I believe gig on HSN as well as a law degree. He’s a Vandy grad and does Southern Charm.  He needs to do something real- I think all this idle time has made him angry and yes….jealous.  Until he stops thinking he’s the smartest person in the room it will never get better.

I fault Whit more than Naomie if that is true.  If there is legit attraction- great- but my word, like Shep, Naomie has tumbled for me.  She seems so desperate.  Latex to the bonfire?  Oh wow- you’re here Craig!? I had no idea….

SC was must see tv but I’m having a hard time reconciling they did a dog wedding.  And push Austen.  Remember when they used to say when Clinton entered a room he stole the show?  That didn’t translate to me who had never seen him in person but does Austen have some magnetism in person?

Here I am - a person who thinks she has a little style - and yet I always think FLW houses are the worst. I was just thinking about how boring the whole season has been, and now their season trip is to an ugly, lizard-infested house. Come at me…I’m sure I’m wrong, but I just can’t get into it 😆

I never get a closeted vibe from Whitney. He seems like every filthy rich mama’s boy I’ve ever known. I do get a thirsty vibe from Naomie, and I also think the hook-up is fake. So who is watchable on this show? I like Pringle, but he was tossed. I’ve been more entertained listening to random conversations at the airport than I have by Katherine’s clips this season. This has to be the last installment, right? We had an episode where someone moved and ate chicken salad. We watched a dog wedding, and it wasn’t even a ridiculously opulent dog wedding lol. We watched someone make a phone call to her mom and order a crib.

I agree. I was like we are having a dog wedding?  I DVR this shit and FF through.

    It’s boring

I think it sunk in when Taylor had the baby scare, that Shep may not marry her even if she was pregnant.  At least, that was my take on how noncommittal he was during their discussion about it.  He was pretty cold blooded about it all.  She dodged a bullet, but why would she want Shep anyway?  I can't prove this, but I bet he's lousy in bed.

Hopefully, in the future, people will leave Shep alone about getting married or being monogamous, or anything that even smacks of it.  He's not the marrying kind and it's his life.  Plus, he's not reproducing and that can only be a good thing.

I’m kind of surprised Shep isn’t into Olivia.  She seems to come from the background that appeals.  Though as I type that I realize Taylor could be a Vanderbilt- doesn’t seem it maybe she is.  Naomie also seems to come from deep pockets.

I always go back to that scene where he and his mom are dining outdoors  and they both just say one disgusting thing after another.  (Paraphrased) I need someone as comfortable at St Barts as at a crab boil says Shep.  Yes, my perfect child, you do says mom.

If I had to guess I’d say he broke up with her.

Yeaaahhh, I don't really appreciate your comment and I feel really called out... as it brings to mind the days when those Brother Label Machines were the new gadget and I practically labeled every single thing that they would stick to at work! 🤣 😂 🤣

So had the same!    She never lost that love and it’s fine. In the world of quirks I’m down :)

Venita is indeed very thirsty, but she's also insecure. I think she had a lot of career hope after being selected for the show, but the Madisons, Naomies, and Kathryns just mow everyone else down.

There's something painful in watching Venita be disappointed, and unlike the other losers on this show, I feel sad for her. And the race optics push my buttons.

Me too.  I feel for her.  At that party they almost all looked like identical siblings.   And I think her brain is like- I’m on a reality show- I have to go there.   Which sucks.  Her style and likely OCD I wish was the main focus.  She definitely has an It factor with her fashion….damn!

As a dog owner I find this not only great but I get that t!  She labels stuff and ole Chuck deserves his own bins….agreee to disagree :)

Leva looks so different than she did last season I have to remind myself who she is when she is pops up on my screen. she is very pretty.

I just texted my friend while watching how amazing she looks this season.  I’d like to know what she did….bc she was always gorgeous but wow!

I can’t get the right words to convey but Paige seems very “on” like “This is what an adorable person looks like in a relationship” instead of the real deal connection.

Madison’s guy is a Mormon?  Was not expecting to hear that.

Very meh season- they need to can Austen- like from Bravo.  Instead he’s everywhere I look and I don’t get it.

I am generally not in favor of team challenges; this one seemed especially arbitray in that they couldn't communicate.

I agree!  The only upside is as a viewer I feel even though it’s ep one I know I them better than normal. The teams felt more cohesive

And I guess I need to try pot roast in my instant pot now.

I usually watch the first episode to see who comes out of the car.  Then, the last episode.  Being they’re going to Europe, I’ll watch in between.  I hate the kissing in the hot tubs tho.  Plus I have to see Sally again.

You are like me with The Voice except I don’t watch the end.

Ok guys I’m feeling optimistic  here.  There are some truly beautiful girls and Clayton is ok thus far.  He’s not my physical preference but I concede in person his “presence” may be (Bill Clinton has this apparently lol).

One of the non descriptive blondes was driving me crazy why she looked familiar and she’s Josh Altman from Bravos show wife Heather  doppelgänger.   He did offer her a rose.

I’m  excited to be on this journey with you and glad to be back!  While I recognize she was a fan fave I found Michelle and her slow speak and monotone nearly unwatchable.  We have a pool of gorgeous women (with real jobs!   So many nurses- so few influencers and other random occupations) and I can’t wait!

Yawn….I used to watch soap operas and the main draw was that they were made up people, in make believe towns, y’know, fiction.  I think some people referred to them as their “stories”.

This is being sold as “reality”, even listed here in the Candid Reality section, but in truth it is following the soap opera style which is characterized by a permanent cast, a continuing story, emphasis on dialogue instead of action, a slower-than-life pace, and a consistently sentimental or melodramatic treatment.

They are all just playing roles.  None of them are good at acting. I can’t get emotionally involved to feel sorrow or anger for any of the adults.  Main reason? They all went into this arrangement submitting to the authority of ONE man fathering as many kids as they could pump out with their eyes wide open, knowing full well only one of the wives could be “legal”, the rest will be single mothers for the most part and none wanted to ever have him full time.  They got exactly what they paid for as Kody reminds us/them every episode.

The writers of this shitshow soap opera should watch some Disney flicks for inspirational pointers~The Mouse has pulling heartstrings down to a science.

To a degree I’m with you but as someone who watches more candid reality than Joseph  Smith intended I have to say- we are getting some good footage this season.

The only fakery I see is Meri, which is pathetic. And I gagged a bit when Janelle said each year she feels stronger- or similar.  Christine is done- and Kody is done with plural marriage. If these asshats hadn’t signed onto TLC they’d probably be thriving as a family.

Robyn for sure is the actress though. Her eyebrows and her words deceive. She really thinks the viewers are stupid.  But the entire breakdown of the family, sadly, seems very real.

Kody is miserable- I say- even with Robyn. When you’re in love and happy you’re not constantly an asshole with a face of death and words  of  venom.  Christine even saw it with Tony and his volcano of yellow diarrhea- they talk and laugh- foreign words when you know Kody.  So enjoy Robyn!  He’s all yours!

So where I live at we have Owls because I hear them and small birds of prey, I think one of them dropped half a mouse carcass in our backyard and one the dogs decided it was going to bring it my house, I started screaming like a little girl. I am deathly afraid of mice and rats.

When Knox was 2 or 3  we lived in an apt complex. We were walking normal path and she grabbed something- rat tail hanging out of one part of mouth- head the other- the rat was dead.  I was horrified and screamed “drop it”!  A lot of instinct kicked in on her and she was like “hell no- this is my best day ever”.   Sounds sexist, so be it, I had quasi made friends with my male neighbor and went to his door and he took care of the situation.  We wound up being great friends.

On a lighter note,  Knox is now 11.  Since I’ve been working from home I watch TV on a Google Nest thing. Anyway, at the end of the work day I say “hey Google, turn off” and she promptly gets out of the dog bed next to me to get on with the evening.  I didn’t teach her that- dogs are  just that  smart and good.

I’m not impressed with Gabby at all. And Ciara can do better than Austin. I just don’t see the appeal of him AT ALL. All of these women clamoring for him has to be for the show, right? Right??

I can’t with Kyle. He’s such a whiny annoying drunk. Luke is cute but Craig for the win.

Idc about the new people yet.

Do you guys think Austen is one of these people who in real life is much hotter and exudes charm(pun not intended).  Bc I just cannot get my head around why anyone find appeal, either.

Luke has never done much for me but in a talking head I got a Ryan Philippe vibe and now I’m liking him better!

Kyle on his “important” phone calls in the middle of the kitchen- gag.  He and Amanda have never been compelling TV for me and that continues.

The house always looks dirty.  People just throw all kinds of shit everywhere.  I find myself distracted in scenes looking at all the various items laying around.  One person- maybe Luke?  Seems to keep a tidy room.

I don't make it often, but if you have a Trader Joe's near by, they sell a cabernet marinated pot roast. Just throw in some carrots, potatoes, and onions, slow cook or roast, and you're good to go. My stepdaughter made it for us once, and it was so good. It's pricey, but I've found it to be consistently good. Now I feel the need to go to TJ's.

Thank you so much!  And in Sept we got a   Trader Joe’s!  What are the odds!  Thank you!

  13. I need a wonderful pot roast with veggies. I know the internet has a million but I want a really good one!

I’ve never cared for it but a recent widow who is going blind and is special to me loves it. I didn’t grow up with a mom who made one so if any of you have one please let me know and thank you!

They are really scraping the bottom of the barrel to create some drama. I did like the friend Angie over the new housewife who adds nothing to the show.

Indeed!  This was a true snooze fest.

I find Jen S reactions so hard to watch- it’s just bad tv for me.  Her at the boiling point time and time again is now tiresome…in Season Two.  I’m a nobody on all levels with 52 followers on Twitter and I never “like” anything that somehow could negatively get back to my employer. I can’t stand Brooks but tell your “team” if they exist- hands off on anyone that is a dependent. It’s not going to end well- fair or not.

I kept thinking Sarah Paulson was onscreen she looked so much like her!  Let’s keep her around- she is some good tv.  Holy shit at what those clothes cost.  What about that dude pledging A MILLION dollars to the charity!  Man I hope those funds are handled correctly and benefit the youth.

I find Whitney gorgeous and quite a bit more entertaining this season. She knows how these shows work and I’m here for it. I also liked her chest was covered at Casino night. I don’t mind some boobs but man-so many others were on display she looked almost Mormon by comparison!

I’ll stick around bc I love the scenes of Utah.  Every shot is amazing.

I hate to agree with Rinna, but I do think it would have been nice of Garcelle to say what she did with Harry's sauce, or how much her family enjoyed it, AFTER consuming it! I love Garcelle, but she strikes me as someone without a shred of self doubt who finds it hard to admit she's done anything less than perfect. I'd have liked to hear Garcelle say something like, "You know we really did love the sauce, had a great spaghetti dinner with the boys, & I should have let you know that!" I absolutely would have sent a thank you text afterwards...

100% agree in normal times. If you TM Vicki “brought me a casserole” I’d let you know in person and call/text how much I enjoyed it.

But Rinna calculated that move. She will hurt Garcelle every chance she gets and G isn’t dumb.  That sauce was to mitigate any past wrong doings. Be it Harry Hamlins sauce or a King Ranch Chicken casserole it was a- I reversed the truck, asked you to own why you’d say Tom calls Ericka, put it into drive and ran over you- here’s some Ragu!

    Or bees.

I'm experiencing the same thing I did way back when Teresa grifted - a swing from dismay to not being able to watch at all. My work is very stressful, a family member needs care, COVID continues to cut people down, it's 9-11 again...and I need to escape into something delightful and this ain't it.

I haven't watched the latest episode - it's sitting on my DVR. What bothers me most is that people are profiting off of Erika's shameful behavior, and worse, the victims. Andy, Bravo, the other housewives, advertisers...

I'll probably FF through parts of the reunion and end up turning it off when the Erika Redemption Show becomes unbearable. But I'll always keep reading here.

I understand- we are in horrific times. However this episode was really good. If you’re a fan I think you’d be ok watching it.  It’s not delightful but PK brings the truth and Garcelle hosts a really nice dinner.  I wouldn’t recommend NY but I think you could watch this one.

I can’t see an Erika redemption happening. It seems impossible. But if for some insane reason that happens we will let you know and scream “don’t watch!”.

Hell yes!   In the past most of just had fun- now it’s victims.

No matter how I play it in mind I can never get to where I would “show teeth and threaten”.  Even if I didn’t give a fuck about humanity (which I very much do)) I’d play it “I was blindsided- I’ve started benefits for the victims”- she’s a stealth bitch

I realize for legal reasons that may not possible but compassion could go a long way- we have seen none

I was obsessed with the wallpaper design that was scanned during the opening credits.   Loved it.

So it's strange I didn't notice until the last episode that Steve Zahn's name was presented next to a large pink hanging pair of testicular-looking fruits.  : )

If you haven’t yet read the interview with Mike White on Vulture. Wallpaper comes up!

This show was a weird one for me bc it’s getting so much praise and adoration in the world and I was…meh.  People who I admire and typically agree with are like “Hand all the Emmys over to Jennifer Coolidge now!”  And similar sentiments and I feel like I watched a different show.

I never hated Shane or the Mossbacher’s like I was supposed to. I didn’t love them but mostly I didn’t care.  I felt it took an eternity for Rachel to say anything and when she finally did the long, dramatic pauses had no payoff.  Kai knowingly broke into a guests room and then assaulted an innocent.

It takes all kinds so I get this one didn’t wow me but I’m pretty easy to please. I watch Bravo for crying out loud!

It is rare that I feel it’s cool to back something but that’s how I view The White Lotus. It’s very cool to be behind it. And maybe those people saw something I didn’t. I’ll concede if so. But I found it boring and would not recommend.

Ever since I got my gums fixed with some delightful time at the periodontist, I'm constantly annoyed by the little bits and pieces left behind in my teeth when I eat salad.

I have gum issues and  I am trying to stay out of the periodontist and got a Water Pik ultra plus.  I got mine from Sams and it comes with a baby one for travel.  I  have never been a good flosser and this has been a game changer for me.  At the risk of TMI it’s very gratifying to see what it’s getting in the sink. Learning curve was easy. (I watched a YouTube vid prior just to see a person use it). This is not a paid endorsement but has made my dental visits much better since purchase!

To stay on topic I have a pet peeve of the phrase “Help me understand”.  My experience has shown it’s a jerk who is saying “You fucking idiot I am talking down to you so all parties on the email  know I think you’re below me”.   Maybe an outlier occurs where a person really means it- I am yet to see that use.

  20. I’ve complained about it before and likely  I will  but Knox and her nails!  She’s like a master manicurist on the right- short and perfect. She neglects the left.  (I’m left handed so even more upsetting :)

The vet and past nail trim attempts terrifies her so I’ve held off as she has to have minor sedation to get this done. I’m still holding out.  Is that dumb and get the girl trimmed?  She walks fine, no pain but whew they are long!  I fear she might offer me an Apple (did not capitalize that iPhone did lol) like the witch in Snow White!

I am not in the medical field but each time I think if something happened to her for a trim I just couldn’t deal with it. It’s equivalent I guess to what MJ liked- probably safe when used correctly. But if we were close before- the pandemic and me now being told my office will not reopen (didn’t expect and made me very sad) I just feel I can’t risk it on something like nails. No one-including you dear reader should understand this but oddly feel better getting out.

  21. @icemiser69 You are 100% correct. And I hate you had to deal with that!   There is a moderately sound safe basement and I take Knox and we watch TV loud  and all is ok. It’s innate- while I did get her from a shelter she was a little bit and nothing with loud noises have happened to her directly she shakes and hates thunder etc.
