  1. It is strange how Jack and Steve are never on the show at the same time. I believe last time they were for a few months, Jack was written off because Missy left the show and they just decided to send Jack and Jennifer off into the sunset. On GH under Ron, the character of Duke was brought back to life and then a few months later it was revealed he was a villain in a mask. This reveal went hand in hand with revealing that the real Duke was alive and being held captive somewhere. I could possibly see something like this happening where the DiMeras (or whoever) have Jack somewhere and this one is a fake. But IDK. I just don't see the point in having Eve involved and the whole amnesia thing if it's not real Jack. Those obstacles wouldn't be needed. Just have fakeJack come on, reunite with everyone, then start doing shady stuff under everyone's noses. That would make more sense for an impostor storyline.
  2. I'm surprised Jack had a memory this quickly. How long did it take Will? Hopefully that means his amnesia doesn't last near as long.
  3. I saw him in a picture at the Days set during their Christmas party, so he's been there for at least a couple of contract cycles (I think they can get let go every 13 weeks?)
  4. I heard that interview, I think the question was if Jack is the same, and Missy said he ~looks~ the same... After seeing yesterday's episode, I think she just means his personality is different because of the amnesia. He was so bland and almost emotionless. (But if somehow he turns out NOT to be Jack, we better get the real undead Jack at some point.) I love the jade plant reference. I am not sure if this is the first time it has been referenced since 1991, but that was a very special symbol for them back in the day. I hope there are a lot more historical mentions like that. He's never had amnesia, and also, every time he's come back - whether from being "dead" or from just being offscreen somewhere - he's never once been upset with Jennifer, and he's always wanted her back. That to me makes this return fresh - for once, he wants nothing to do with her! If nothing else, at least that's a new angle and can turn this story on its head from what we have already seen several times with them. And it can hopefully return us back to the classic days of Jack & Jennifer, where their best dynamic was cynical Jack pushing her away, and spunky Jennifer fighting for their love.
  5. I was never a Steve and Kayla fan even in their glory days. Steve was always too shouty for me.
  6. I think the overriding message is supposed to be that he was in a prison of his secrets and didn't want to hurt her but felt pressured to appear to be straight, but it doesn't make what he did right. I knew someone in real life whose husband came out and said he knew he was gay all along and was trying to fight it. It was a terrible situation all around, and it seemed people were so busy congratulating him on having the courage to come out that they forgot about the intense pain the wife felt. All that being said, I still think Layla is a terrible person.
  7. Definitely no one would care about the Layla/Avery "celebrity couple" if Avery hadn't previously been married to Juliette. The Kevin Federline comparison is apt and hilarious. Noah was willing to date Juliette back when she was pregnant with another guy's baby, so I think his feelings for her are genuine, and it seems like he's supposed to be pretty famous already. I almost wish Noah could stick around, but I am not sure with his busy schedule that DH will be on the show for very long.
  8. Juliette's only real transgression in their dating relationship was the hate-sex with Jeff. Before that, they had a good relationship. After Avery forgave her and they got married, they went back to having a good relationship until she had the baby and the PPD set in. So I don't see her as being a nightmare the entire time when it comes to Avery - she was usually at her sanest and most calm with him. The way I see it is, Avery forgave her for Jeff. He married her. So I don't think it's fair of him to turn around and lump that time of pain in with her PPD-induced actions as if she is just continually trying to hurt him. If she had never gotten postpartum depression, she wouldn't have left. She wouldn't have hired Jeff to be her manager again. She wouldn't have gone on drinking and drug benders. That was all supposed to be because of the PPD making her run away from being a mother and numbing the pain, so the fact that Avery is not addressing that, showing no concern for that, and being outright hostile to her, makes him seem like an asshole to me. It's not even about him not taking her back - I don't blame him for not being ready, and I don't think they're ready. I just don't see any sensitivity from him regarding what she went through - it's all about him and how he felt. He definitely had a tough go of it, but ultimately Juliette had it worse. She was suffering mentally, she was basically alone, and she almost killed herself (but I guess he doesn't know about that). So while I think he definitely has reason not to take her back, he could certainly be more sensitive with her. Starting with not sending the baby to her so that he can go have forget-about-Juliette-sex with Layla.
  9. This show has a habit of sending bad messages about certain causes. Thinking about donating an organ to a loved one? Don't watch the episode where Beverly dies. Suffering from postpartum depression and want to get help? Hope you didn't lose your husband, who shows you no sympathy, to your worst enemy first.
  10. I honestly can't think of one really happy moment that occurred in this episode. Avery claimed to be happy, but let's be real. The brief hand-holding between G/S was cute, but Lord knows we couldn't have that last more than 10 seconds. Every couple that has more than 9 fans is messed up. The Maddie storyline is probably one of the worst things this show has done. Poor Will must be wishing he had never been born. The only good thing I can say about this episode was it basically focused on the main characters and not on "Riff" or "Vita" or "Markus." That's all I got.
  11. I completely understand why Avery would be extremely hesitant and even resistant to let Juliette see Cadence, but he is being written very inconsistently, just as Juliette was during the whole PPD story. Avery is the one from the very beginning who knew something more was going on than Juliette just being a terrible person. He got the doctor involved and staged the intervention to tell Juliette she was sick. Just a few episodes ago, he was running around Nashville telling anyone who would listen that Juliette needed help after she attacked a fan. Then his first reaction upon hearing that she is finally in treatment is to claim she is just manipulating everyone and then fire Emily for simply talking to her? This was before the therapist even came by and insinuated that Avery should let Juliette be in Cadence's life. His irrational reaction just seemed completely plot-driven. Then his about-face at the end of the episode was very abrupt. That didn't take much! He changed his mind just in time for the end of the episode, like a classic 1990s sitcom.
  12. I miss them too. They used to be so good. This season has been absolutely horrible and miserable for them, and even before HP had to leave they were only in scenes in two of the 7 episodes she appeared in. That is a crime and travesty considering their chemistry and how well they work together. As for Avery and Emily, they are probably the most boring couple I could ever conceive of. Except for maybe Scarlett and Caleb. Hope that doesn't happen. He is being really stubborn and prideful when it comes to Juliette's money. I get that he doesn't want Juliette in Cadence's life because he thinks she will only hurt her throughout her life, but Juliette's money could provide Cadence with so much more than he ever could - the best schools, college tuition, a trust fund so she could be set for life - I guess since he was raised middle class, he just wants to give Cadence the same upbringing as him and shelter her from her tornado of a mother. But when you're struggling to pay basic bills, maybe you should swallow your pride and take child support from your millionaire wife.
  13. I don't really think there was any good way around writing Hayden's pregnancy into the show, just because Juliette standing behind large objects to hide her belly for half the season would have been really limiting and wouldn't have hidden the pregnancy well anyway. They could have still kept Juliette's personality the same though, which would have been an interesting contrast to how different she would be at home with her family. That is what I always liked about her and Avery together, is that when they first got together she was still ambitious and could be a real B to people, but she was softer and vulnerable with Avery in a way she wasn't with anyone else too much. But now that she is off the rails and even Avery can't reach her, it's just depressing. They didn't even have to write a story about her dealing with being a mom, she could have had a storyline after the birth about something else and we just see her managing being a mother too as a side thing. I hope the second half of the season, assuming they wrap this up quickly once Hayden resumes filming, will bring something lighter for Juliette and we see her how she used to be - feisty and tough but someone you can sympathize with still.
  14. They have called it postpartum on the show, at the end of last season Avery went to a doctor who said that is probably what is wrong with her. But the show is writing it way over the top and making her just completely melt down, to where it is not even recognizable what she has and people seem to forget that is supposed to be her issue. They have handled it really poorly and it looks even worse now with Hayden Panettiere having it in real life.
  15. Well as of right now Juliette wants nothing to do with her baby because of her PPD/mental illness/however they're going to explain this, so Avery is right in the present when he says she won't fight it. As crappy as she has been, Juliette is not at heart an evil person. The crux of her character has always been that deep down she doesn't see herself as worth anything, and I think it would be more in character for her to believe Cadence is better off with Avery. If we see a custody fight down the road, I would think it would be because after Juliette is treated for her issues, she wants joint custody and Avery doesn't trust her enough to agree to that.
