  1. Maybe they didn't rewrite anything but it sure came across like they did. Either way--it has to be one of the worse episodes ever. Given the serious nature of the topic of the separation and the reasons for it. None of it matters to me anymore--im done. Unless I read here something good I am going back to reading first and watching second depending on what I read. Joy did the best review of this episode--one of her all time best imo. Happy Thanksgiving
  2. I will bet we here the famous "its my life". Anyway, Castle has never been the type to get angry and scream at people. Out of all the spoilers I have read I like this one the best because at the very least he gets angry and lets her know it and it sounds as if he puts a clock on her and her obsession. I will watch--I was sorry I watched last week but its the finale. Just really not sure I will be back in Jan......................
  3. Thank You--that sounds pretty close and now that I think about it the title of the Ep was what caused the questions. It will be really interesting to see how many fans are excited on Tuesday.
  4. Agreed that TPTB do not care much about the fall out but they do care about money as in AD dollars which they will loose if Castles ratings fall into fraction territory. I do remember the write up from the head of the network at the beginning of the season--his vision was a Castle with many more seasons and the new show runners were tasked to make it happen. If the separation ends Monday I think we will be able to tell from the flow of the episode if that was the plan all along or written in somehow. Either way--fans are not going to be happy with anything less than 100% all in. Personally, I don't think it will happen--at least not the way many want. Time will tell....
  5. I wish I could remember which interview I read that the show runners gave that suggested the separation would go on past the fall finale but I am certain I read it but now I don't know if it even matters. We shall see what Monday brings and if it brings an end to the separation I am going to tend to believe it is because of lost viewers and TPTB hit the red panic button. But that is just me..........I have always felt that 3 second wedding we got was Marlow caving to pressure from the network. Plus a whole season of Locksat is way to much for me--I can not tell you how much I hate this arc with or with out the break up. Maybe I just never paid attention before but does it not seem like the spoilers for this ep are really being pushed? and numerous? Or is this normal?
  6. What I remember of the numerous interviews from the show runners was that if fans are patient that the fall finale would give us an idea of where this story arc was going and of course they thought we would all love it and find it "Fun". They also said this arc was for the better part of S8. There was never an expectation of an end to the separation by the fall finale. A change in plans? To stop the bleeding? More important--will it work?
  7. Yeah--do you think he got Cheeseburgers and Mac and Cheese? hummm
  8. I have been glued to this thread as I find it very interesting. So many valid points. To the point of meeting ones spouse with understanding and hope instead of anger when one partner creates a seismic change in the relationship is fine assuming the other partner has some idea of what he is understanding! Castle does not even know what has made this tough time--only that the woman he loves above all else has walked out on him and has yet to give one answer to his questions that makes sense. If the writers had a clue who these characters are this split would be over because Castle would not have waited this long to begin investigating to figure this out. KB is not acting out of love and Castle is acting from a place of being lost and grabbing hold of anything he can including sex with no strings. How sad that must be for him and even her as it rips at the very foundation of their marriage vows. But only one of them knows the reason why and in that sense KB is taking advantage of Castle--not the booty call but relying on his goodness, kindness and great love for her. She is counting on it. The writers have written KB as totally selfish and Castle as pathetic thus far and I am being nice. He can love unconditionally and be understanding while still getting angry--not the stomp your feet anger but more of the deep anger that comes from being hurt once he realizes that Locsat is more important to her than their marriage. How the writers are going to write them out of this box with any credibility is beyond me. I suspect they will not--he will figure it out and he will get involved all the while she pushes him away and some life or death scenario will bring them back together and all being for given. If the writers do manage to create twists and turns that manage to come together I am afraid it will be to little to late for this viewer. IMO Castle should never have jumped in the sack with her it speaks of desperation and KB should not have even gone to the loft knowing full well where her husbands heart and mind are and what would likely transpire. A call to meet in public for dinner would have been the kinder way for her to go if doing anything at all. She got what she wanted--Castle is still her puppy but did he?
  9. This episode made me angry. The one night stand, the casual acceptance of this time out. KB cold hearted attitude and Castles "Gee--Wow--Look how big a crumb I got" Vikram--is no good and I am willing to bet he is one of or the big bad. I knew I should not have watched and wish I had not. Castle is dead--nothing these writers can come up with to resolve this is going to matter to me at this point. Clearly I am speaking for myself. Appears they have lost a bit of their confidence since there will be no long winter hiatus after all.
  10. Is there any basis of fact for how many days the two leads work together or this still rumor? if so could someone lead me to that info--thanks.
  11. OK--but where is the smoke? Where did it come from? Who started it? It is just as easy for me to believe there are show runners with rather large egos thinking they can fix what others messed up (just a thought not saying it is so). If it is so--the fact that we really do not know is a testimony to the professionalism of our 2 leads.........imo
  12. Rumors have run rampant on this show for almost as long as it has been on the air. I do not buy it--at least not until I see some facts to back it up. Both leads are known for their professional work ethic and I do not think that even if there is truth in there somewhere that either of them would suddenly risk their future careers by acting unprofessional. It is human nature when a well loved show begins to come apart at the seams with no explanation to look to blame BTS actions as the reason. When the reason could be as simple as the new show runners had this great idea that does not work. There are to many other things wrong with the show to blame it on BTS issues with the leads. Way back after the new show runners were named--they and the head of ABC gave interviews of all their grand plans. SK for her part did an interview wanting this and Hal said as much too because she wanted her character to have "meat". The so called issues maybe nothing more than SK wanting a more dramatic bent while NF preferred the status quo. But neither her or NF created this arc. It is natural if the cast including the leads are becoming tired and now with a few of them with new projects in the works time is precious but none of them are dumb enough to bite the hand that led them here imo. One creator/ show runner opened the coffin with the wedding that wasn't and now yet another set of show runners have nailed the coffin shut. All that remains is the burial that we all know is coming. I am not even a fan of some of them but not for a minute do I believe BTS actions by any cast member has caused this. JMO
  13. I do not comment much since I don't watch much but I did watch last night and as the poster before me stated--I watched it as a stand alone prime time special that wasn't Castle--just a show. There were some lol moments and KB was not there to suck the oxygen out of the show. So I was able to watch and not want to toss things at my screen every time the mean (I am the best cop ever) self absorbed KB was in a scene. Other than the stop asking for permission advice the rest of it was cringe worthy and also makes me wonder why Espo. Ryan and Lanie are not there for Castle? He talks to Slaughter because besides his mom and daughter who else is there? The boys are staying out it and of course Lanie is KB BFF but it still bugs me that not even Ryan extends any real empathy other than bribes. That said-- I had no problem with Castle taking the guys through a few hoops. I think Castle has been damaged beyond repair and I see no way of fixing it now. It would need a some awesome creative writing to turn things around but I have lost hope of that ever happening. My only hope is that RC will get off the buffoon trolley and zero in and figure out what his errant wife is doing. On that note of what KB is doing---am I the only one who sees that she is putting not only Castle but everyone from her father to her family, co-workers and friends in danger as well? Why did they fire PJ after telling her she was in and create Hayley? She is window dressing imo. So much of the fandom expects them back together before the winter break and we know that is not going to happen. With that--a long winter break will make it that much easier not to come back. Thanks for letting me vent......
  14. This year, the TV season has stretched into November without a single new title consigned to the rubbish heap -— something that industry watchers say hasn’t happened since the early 1950s. It’s November, and no show has been canceled: Why networks aren’t pulling the plug http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2015/11/07/its-november-and-no-show-has-been-canceled-why-networks-arent-pulling-the-plug/ Not sure I did this right but this article also talks about the changes for networks.
  15. I wasn't going to watch but then against my better judgment I watched and am sorry I did. I think the writers or show runners underestimated the fans reaction to the break up. No need for me to say anything about that as you all have summed it up well. All the stand alone "fun" episodes are marred by the dark cloud of the break up. Ratings adjusted down to a 1.1 according the grim reaper--that's the new name for tv by the numbers? Anyway--my question is this--given the show runners have said this is a season long story line with a twist and turn here and there--does anyone think they may pull a Marlow and get them back together as Marlow did the wedding in S7 in order to stop the bleeding? A long winter break will be no friend if they go without them being back together--as a long break makes it easier to break away and not come back. Thanks
