Yes, Natalie mentioned that she lived a short distance (10 miles or 10 minutes?) from her.

And she was one of the people that Monk wrote a note to.

Wasn't expecting it to get that dark, but to the shock of nobody Shalhoub nailed it.  And I totally didn't cry at the end, nope, you can't prove it.  Monk realized he had 140 victims and their families who love him, because he spoke for them and got justice when nobody else could.

    Monk has his Watson now.

  2. Okay, first off fantastic job with Ingrid this season.  They humanized her by showing why she would be so attached to Nathan.  Her friends were terrible, and her dad wished she died, but there was Nathan.  Nathan was the one that actually cared about her.  Nathan didn't see her as a status symbol, or money, or didn't run her down with stuff like her friend did.  And her friendship with AI guy starting last season was excellent, he even got invited to the wedding.

But holy shit, next season is gonna be a civil war.  It's gonna be Horizen/Betta vs uploads, AI guy, the Ludds, 2 Gigs (you know Yang's gonna back Luke and Nathan), and angels (Tinsley did not look happy getting pushed aside).  And that whole sequence showed the evolution of AI guy, he didn't hesitate to protect Nathan.  He overrode his programming to do that.

We better get a season 4.

  3. Did Ivan just kill Choak?

My goodness, I was crying at Ingrid running away from the guy in Lakeview and real life, and getting yanked to the floor because she was still plugged in.  That was fantastic physical comedy, and her just lying there frozen.  And then there was her beating the hell out of the guy with a stool.  I want to know how many takes they had to do, no way would I have been able to keep a straight face watching both of those.

Good to see one of Nathan's exes from his funeral returning, and still being a nice character.

  4. Getting more and more obvious that Tinlsey's hug last season kicked off the AI evolving.  He was listening to Luke about rest, even calling him Pastor Luke.  The AI also just wanted a meal with people to celebrate the holiday, and asked Luke more questions.

The jokes that Lakeview Nathan was better looking that Downloaded Nathan were funny.  A lot of credit goes to Robbie Amell for his reactions to them.

And on the shallow, I thought real world Ingrid looked better than Lakeview Ingrid.

I don't care so much about the actual answer, it's more about the journey for a TV murder. And it says a lot, that I actually felt sorry for Cliff.

I think you can thank two things for that, one is that it was obviously an accident.  It was an argument that got way too heated, he wasn't a murderer, when Mabel confronted him he didn't threaten Mabel or anybody else.  The other thing is a fantastic performance by Wesley Taylor, where he sold it completely that it was an accident and that Cliff was no murderer, and that he was racked with guilt for it.

  6. The moment they said the lipstick matched it was blatantly obvious that Cliff was the killer.  That didn't make it any worse, thanks in large part to the performances of everybody involved.

Sazz dying means more Jane Lynch next season in flashbacks.  So that's one good thing.  But somebody wants Charles or Sazz or maybe all of the trio dead.

  7. "You're the 5 whores?"

LMAO.  Martin Short's delivery was perfect, to the shock of maybe one person.  Ben's sewing circle friends better be back for the season finale.

Here's hoping they find a way to get Paul Rudd and Meryl Streep back for next season.  They've both been perfect.  I know that Ben is dead, but you can have Rudd play a new character.

Of course Mabel's ideal birthday is hanging out with Charles and Oliver.  They're her besties, they've got to be there for each other's big moments.

Ah, got ourselves a Father of the Bride reference.  Lets see if we can get a Three Amigos next!

Sorry Chevy Chase you've been replaced by somebody who doesn't make it a monthly habit of burning bridges.  Selena is the true new 3rd Amigo.

  8. Can Theo be bumped up to a regular next season?

Matthew Broderick was clearly having a blast.  Mel Brooks was great as well.  Meryl, Rudd, Mel, and Broderick this season.  Everybody wants to be on this show.

The "You're fired" scene after that stupid article a few days ago saying that Martin Short was never funny, just perfect timing.

Sticking with Dicke as the killer.  Ben stole CoBro from him, Dickie always cleaned up the messes, and Ben was an ass to Loretta (who's no doubt Dickie's mom).

  9. "I literally had to talk Idina Menzel off a ledge."

We got Meryl and Paul Rudd this season, please tell me this is a hint that Idina Menzel will be in next season.  Probably just a name drop, but hey, you never know.

Good on Mabel for not turning against the guys.  Yeah, the trio is going through a rough patch right now, but they're best friends, and Charles and Oliver are kind of like dads to Mabel.  And Charles and Oliver will find a way to make sure that Mabel keeps the apartment.

I want to see the outtakes of Steve Martin attempting the "rap".  When he first walked out it looked like Selena was desperately trying to stop herself from breaking.  Also the outtakes from Steve in the White Room, dude was having a blast.

And I'm calling Dickie as the killer.

One of the things that gave me hope was the ending, which could be, post-writer's strike, something they want to explore again.  It might take a few years, and then we'll remember the best of The Arrowverse, and we'll want to see a next generation/what have the Legends been up to/etc. show.  Just like the comics, comics shows never stay dead forever.

Breaking and fixing time like only they can do.

  11. The ending with Barry sharing his powers was fantastic.

Season 5's finale would have been the perfect series finale if not for the Crisis tease.  Season 7's finale would have made an excellent series finale with the entire group (including Nora and Bart) together for Barry and Iris renewing their vows.  They gave us 2 episodes that would have made excellent series finales, so I figured that they would stick the landing for the actual series finale.  Yeah, that didn't happen.

No Wally, Cisco, Bart, or Kara (although Melissa was probably too busy with her HBO Max show) was a big disappointment.  Would not put this finale on the level of the finales for Agents of SHIELD, Stargirl, Supergirl, and Friday Night Lights, just off the top of my head.

  12. Wasn't expecting The Simpsons to give Susan G Komen Foundation a giant middle finger, but I like it.

They weren't wrong about the Salvation Army, and the blue ribbons and other blue stuff were definitely a big jab at the Susan G. Komen fund.

I'm amused Kyle gave Jon a shirt that's too big but I hope that's all. Hazing is bad Kyle!

Given what we know about Kyle, it seems like the only hazing he'd do is the rookie shit.  Like Jon having to wash the truck constantly, or the shirt with the wrong name.  Maybe telling Jon that he had to bring chips and soda for the house.  Harmless stuff that isn't a felony.

Tyler Hoechlin is a fantastic live action Superman, but he's the best live action Clark Kent.

  14. That felt like a series finale.  And if it is the series finale, that goes down as one of the best.

You could almost hear the Armorer screaming in her mind "It's about fucking time" when Djarin said he wanted to adopt Grogu.  She's wanted him to do that for a long time.  Somebody saved his life, took him in as a foundling, and adopted him, and she just wanted him to do the same for Grogu.

Bo firing up the Darksaber and leading the charge of Mandalorians?  Perfection.

Grogu got to save his dad, and the woman that he wants to become his mom.  Bo immediately went to shield him from the blast.  Time for Bo to admit it, she's got a mother's love for Grogu.  Djarin, Bo, and Grogu are family goals in the Star Wars universe.

Bo's clan of Mandalorians called Djarin's clan zealots because of the helmet rule, but also weren't the biggest fan of foundlings.  Djarin's clan had the hard stance of the helmet rule, but believed that people like him could be Mandalorian.  At the end, they both said "Screw our hard rule", Djarin's clan was standing alongside Bo's clan, and Bo's clan accepted Grogu as a Mandalorian.

That scene was curiously satisfying.  I suppose because it's such a perfect stereotypical moment of a masculine male protector gender role.  It doesn't even seem to matter that the game is rigged for Clark - his act really takes no courage because he knows the guy can do nothing to hurt him, and Clark knows he can supermanhandle the guy at will.

But he also knows that he can't handle asshole dad like he would a Zod.  It takes courage for Clark to know that he can confront the guy, and not lose control even for a second.

It was nice that Kyle wanted to jump in and help Clark. And Lana was really subtle in stopping him. It was a good episode for Kyle.

For all the shit that Kyle's done, I don't think we've ever gotten a hint that he'd hit a kid.  Of course he's gonna back up Clark, not just because they're friends, but asshole dad beat up a kid and pulled a gun on Lois.  And notice, he put his arm in front of Sarah and moves her away, he didn't just stand up, he was making a move to get Sarah away from a possible fight.

  16. That was the angriest Clark has been since the DoD opened fire on Tag.  It's like the saying goes, fear the wrath of a gentle man.

And there's Clark trying everything with Lois's cancer.  He lost his mom and dad to health problems that he couldn't stop.  He knows there are things he can't stop, but that doesn't make it easier, so he wants to make everything as comfortable as possible in the hope she'll get better, or he and the boys will get some more time with her.

You don't want to go to war with Lois, even a cancer stricken Lois.

    - I really don't see why various "events" involving tie fighters, pirates and former members of the Empire need to be connected in any way other than the planet is an independent world with no security and various factions are taking advantage of that. There is not enough there for any character to think there is something coordinated happening, aside from narrative convenience.

But Teva knows that old Imperial outposts and labs are still being used.  Moff Gideon never made it to trial.  He sees that everything is way too coordinated for everybody to be acting independently.  He like Leia is somebody who's raising the alarm that the Empire is regrouping, but is being ignored.

And it's definitely a frame job on the Mandalorians for Gideon's break out.  The real perps get the New Republic to dedicate resources to fight the Mandalorians.  That does damage to 2 enemies.

    Great episode.

  18. Ahmed Best saved Grogu.  All the speculation people had, like it was Quinlan Vos (my guess was Vos or the Gathering younglings), or any other Jedi we had met, and it was a Jedi played by Ahmed Best.  That was fantastic.  A great middle finger to people who put Ahmed Best through so much shit for the prequels.  And he went back for more younglings.  So, it's possible that he's the one that saved Gungi and maybe others from the Gathering crew.  Ahmed Best deserves to have that legacy in Star Wars.

I assume she's still on team Empire though? What reward does she get out of turning Pershing's mind into soup? I thought he was destined to be part of the whole

      Reveal spoiler

    "somehow, Palpatine returned"

business. Well, maybe this is intended to crush the do-gooder out of him. Which the cubicle job seemed to be doing just fine at, albeit slowly.

Because Pershing legit wanted to help the New Republic and was gonna share everything with them.  She sets up Pershing and fries his mind, and he can't give the New Republic anything.  Now the only ones with Pershing's info are ones loyal to the Empire, and they also have a whole junkyard of perfectly good fighters and destroyers to raid.  That's my guess, they've been building the First Order in the background since the beginning of the show, and for the First Order to succeed they've gotta weed out anybody who isn't loyal to the Empire.

  20. Operation Paperclip comes to Star Wars, and they're taking from Winter Soldier by having the Empire grow inside the New Republic.  Elia Kane set up Pershing because he was gonna share all his knowledge with the New Republic, and the remnants of the Empire to become the First Order can't have that.  Pershing legit wanted to help the New Republic, but he was played by Elia.

And that ain't no warlord who sent those Ties, I'd say it was more likely a Grand Admiral.
