  1. Missionaries go through the MTC (Missionary Training Center) before they leave on their mission. The get some language training there, and then the training continues from the local leaders at the mission location.
  2. Not trying to argue. I'm sorry if it came off that way. I was just trying to explain Daybreak. It's unique and has a lot going on out there, but it's not a place a 13 year old can drive a golf cart around. It's such an odd choice for a gift.
  3. Utahn here-not Mormon. And you're right. There are different levels of Mormons. Lisa is definitely NOT a temple-worthy Mormon. She's what we would call a 'Jack Mormon', basically a cultural Mormon. The difference with her and Heather is that Heather has spoken out against the church and it's teachings publicly. Heather being divorced is not the problem. It's that damn book. That's next level and considered way more egregious to the church than someone like Lisa who just dabbles in Mormonism when it's convenient.
  4. I live right down the road and run by Whit's house all the time. Daybreak is a huge planned community, but it is like any other neighborhood. It's not gated. It has restaurants, shops, trails and playgrounds for the public to enjoy. The roads are like any other roads. So no, 13 year old kids are not running around Daybreak in golf carts. I'm not sure what in the hell that gift was about besides good TV.
  5. Please explain the conversation where Matt & Jag are in bed chatting, side by side, heads on pillows. How can Matt "hear" Jag? He's not looking at him and Jag isn't speaking loudly. It's such a natural, side by side conversation. I'm stumped.
  6. Lisa's response to Jack wanting to go on a mission was just jaw dropping. Utahn here. Mormons really, really, really love missionaries. Their kids going on a mission is a HUGE deal. They throw parties and gather for the mission call. It's a real badge of honor to have a kid on a mission. They only act like Lisa if their kid decides NOT to go on a mission. Pretty sure that's why Jack said that mom and dad aren't like him. I can damn near guarantee you that all of his friends that are going on a mission have parents that are THRILLED about it.
  7. Sorry, but Rob Riggle and Joe Tessitore are the show for me. I freakin' LOVE those guys!
  8. Bannana-Thank you SO much for posting that link to Mayor Pete addressing abortion and infanticide. LOVED it! Mountain Time Zone here. Missed Mayor Pete. That answer was so perfect and eloquent. Not sure I've ever heard it said better. He's so damn reasonable.
  9. I am from Utah (and no, I'm not a Mormon ;) ) and let me assure you that Waffle Love has a great product. We pay between $7-9 for a waffle, which is a pretty expensive dessert, but it's worth every dime. They do have many specials and continue to create different waffles, but in the end, it's all about the waffle. They have a great business model, great customer service, great brand and great product. I'm not here to argue whether or not they should win this show, but just to say that their waffles really are something special. They are amazing!
