  1. What happened onscreen is what happened, and our individual interpretations are valid. If Eastin intended something, he should have put it onscreen. Since he didn't it doesn't matter what he thinks.
  2. I liked the Highlander quickening. There can be only one, and there is only one Stephen.
  3. Alex had a significant part in The Colbert Report finale last night. It's toward the end.
  4. 1. I need a hug. 2. Who was the guy who danced with Katie Couric? 3. I loved that Stephen and Jon were together the whole song. I love those boys and how much they love each other.
  5. It was perfect.I laughed and cried at the same time during "We'll Meet Again", which is the ultimate finale reaction as far as I'm concerned. The keyboard seems a little blurry right now.
  6. I'm not going to make it to 11:30 to watch the finale live. It's already past my bedtime, but I will join the dirges and lamentations in the morning.
  7. There were two, I think. What struck me about it was that it looked like it was made on a dot matrix printer, like in ye olde dayes of computers. Speaking of taking it old school, I was thinking of how other shows would deal with Samaritan. If this was Star Trek, Spock would order it to calculate pi. If it was any Stargate, there would be a global EMP.
  8. Before I went to the Czech Republic, I had to explain to a relative that it is not the Chechen Republic. Which they only knew existed because it was right after the Boston marathon bombing.
  9. It's still going on, iboatedhere. It goes almost all through today and tonight. The DVR cut off the cold opening a couple of times because the beginning and ending times were weird, like 11:04.
  10. Is anyone else watching the marathon? I've just started, thanks to the miracle of DVR, am watching the very first episode ever, with Truthiness and Stone Phillips. I was sure this first threat down had bears but it didn't. What id did have is a prescient reference to Florida's gun laws. Not stand your ground, but using them in public places. I'd forgotten how much more O'Reillyish Stephen was at the beginning. Thank god he, unlike the real Papa Bear, has evolved.
  11. Directv also gives you directions about how to record on a DVD recorder. Back in early November, I posted about my trouble with upgrading to the Genie. It turned out it really was because my wireless router was on the point of death. With the new one (I'm renting from xfinity until I figure what to buy), everything is lovely and I do enjoy not having to worry about recording more than 2 things at a time. Not that it happens often, but there are times when 3 things I want to see overlap.
  12. Damn. I'm so overcome by grief I don't even know what day it is!
  13. What about digital antennas that allow you to watch local broadcast channels without a cable or satellite subscription? Those should hook up to VCRs and DVD recorders OK? You'd still need to find alternate means of watching networks like USA, SyFy, etc. but the broadcast networks would be covered.
  14. It's as I've always known: little kids, like clowns and ventriloquists' dummies, are inherently creepy. Perhaps hubris will be Samaritan's downfall. LOVED the Get Smart vending machine. Now if John gets a shoe phone and the others start calling Harry "Chief"...
  15. I loathed Fred.so.very.much. When Amy Acker joined Person of Interest I wasn't sure I'd be able overcome my deep dislike of her because of Fred and keep watching.
  16. It always irks me when contestants blame their youth for not knowing something, especially when they've correctly answered several questions about things that pre-date their very special selves by decades.
  17. In case it hasn't been mentioned: Nestor will be shown on ABCFamily at 8 a.m. Christmas day.
  18. It's too bad they went for a real company--it would've been perfect for Stephen to sell out to Prescott Pharmaceuticals.
  19. It's a small change in the lyrics from Garland's "next year" to Sinatra's "from now on" and using "hang a shining star upon the highest bough" twice instead of using it once and using Garland's "until then, we'll have to muddle through somehow" the second time. I've heard Sinatra requested the changes for the reason legaleagle mentions. I like both versions but prefer Sinatra's voice.
  20. It probably will but I'll be sobbing too loudly to hear it.
  21. Yes, the messed up display bothered me as well--how can they ever find anything when they're clearly not keeping reporter sets together, let alone following either Dewey or Library of Congress? It's chaos! Chaos!
  22. For me, it's a depressed to the point of suicide dad. He seems like he's about to pull the car over and hang himself from the nearest branch. Get some perspective, man.
