  1. nah, amazon prime. jeff bozos (or however you spell his name..) apparently has no issues with that.
  2. the scene between bjorn and the princess was like porn. no sex scene in the show has been that graphic. at least not showing full boobs and shit. A;fred teling the priest/abbot about learning is telling of the real life Alfred the great who wanted the massaes to learn.
  3. I don't think the Emir's wife/gf/whatever trusts Bjorn/Halfdan, and to be fair he was part of the "old order" of Euphemius. I suspect Guthrum may be the one who challenges Alfred, like just in real history. We don't know the origins of Guthrum though, just that he ws a Norse lord who was part of Great Heathen Army.
  4. Then again, Lagertha did castrate Einar for taking over her Earldom. So raping Harald, in a way, was justified, since he did attack her kingdom.
  5. lagertha is becoming a big bitch. why is she being a dick to floki, like they've been god friends since before the series started (if that makes sense)? Ivar isn't a sociopath to me. he does what most norsemen do to their enemies and he clearly loves his brothers, family, and people. He is the ragnarsson version of king harald in that way. The eunech thing was a bit silly. I have a feeling that Guthrum will be the one who eventually challenges Alfred. I I hope Aethelwulf doesn't die soon, he's a better king overall than his dad ever was. His dad has smarts, but was a physical coward.
  6. a great ep. i don't get why they want to kill Siguard.why? seems needless.
  7. Jefferson had favoured slaves....for...erm...special times.... It could be a similar thing here, even though this is European and not later transatlantic slavery. Considering she's of that value to Ubbe, I doubt he'd mistreat her, possibly grant her freedom in due course (like how Bjorn fell for Thorrun in the early seasons who was also a slave).
  8. Pretty odd though, since Islam and Christianity are sister religions with very similar teachings.
  9. it is rewarded but then what he did was no different to all the other revent killing we've seen. Lagertha knew that his sons would seek revenge on her, and Ivar did nthing wrong.
  10. Because it's his mother. the reason why is moot. Revenge is what part of Norse society to them is. Ivar will avenge Ragnar. Erlender wanted to avenge King Horik. Or you don't get rudimentary familial ties?haha
  11. i guess any ep post-Ragnar would be a downer. but then this wasn't shit but not great either. The Floki thing was weird, as was the mosque issue. So people prayng in a mosque will let strengers come in and kill their imam? And Floki hates Christianity. How come now he loves Islam? He should realise that they come from the same root hahaha King Harald and Halfdan sure had their "way" with the harem as they usually do, but then the scene with Odin made no sense. Ivar, Sigurd and Ubbe knew that Ragnar had died. Bjorn and Hvitserk didn't though. So why would an all-seeing god with one eye come and tell them what they already knew?
  12. i suspect Travis will leave soon. So his pits of snakes has to be primed.lol. we've seen it before though.... once he dies, then it's interesting to see how the England situation unfolds. in real history, Egbert becomes the Saxon high-king, and the Danes first land in East Anglia, and kill the King of East Anglia named Edmund for not renouncing Christianity. We haven't seen him yet in the series, though we may in this season or next (whenever the sons raid). It won't just be Ivar who raids though, it would be the other sons, and Hvitserk will marry the daughter of King Aelle (not Judith, I presume he has more than one). Aethewulf suceeds his father as King of Wessex, so we should see him as King in the show, and then of course Alfred succeeds him, but it's possible Aethelwulf has natural kids and not an adopted one like Alfred. i hope the Battle of Edington is well choreographed lol. Probably by season 6 or 7 we'll see this. I also want to know who Guthrum would be.
  13. I empathise more with Rollo than Ragnar now. in season one with Jarl Borg, Rollo was wrong. Now, Ragnar is wrong. Rollo is older and wants to lead. he should have made him an Earl somewhere or got him to lead a special fleet of ships to raid other lands. Ragnar was right to feel betrayed, but that doesn't undermine Rollo's need for fame too. it's what Norsemen do and want.
  14. how many years is it since the series opener? is it 30? I'm surprised that the Seer is still alive at that point, orthere isn't a new Seer. Also who was King in Ragnar's absence? somebody had to be, and wouldn't he be committing some sin if he deserted and went back?
