  1. Mirror Image is a complete waste. Bello originally went home during Judge Cuts but these guys are still here? It's ridiculous. I actually wouldn't be surprised if they got voted through. The escape guy was terrible. His act is just too predictable. Even if the box fell as it was supposed to, it would have been a pretty boring act. I thought the magician was terrible as well. I'd have to watch it again, but I'm pretty sure he did not give Howie the card he chose. Also it was interesting that the camera obscured seeing where the card on the glass came from. Pretty sure it was just up his sleeve the whole time. It was pretty obvious he just went under the glass. Part of the illusion should be that he is holding the drape up, but he obviously wasn't. Evie is not not a very good singer. For awhile there I didn't even think she was really playing the piano. The deaf ear singer will go far. I could see her in the final two against the little girl Terry Fator. The episode was forgettable which which is why I probably don't remember the names of most of the acts.
  2. I was under the assumption that the dad was the guy that wrote that graphic novel about Katana Girl was her dad? But maybe I'm wrong since this already has tons of plot holes and things that are either incredibly stupid or don't make sense.
  3. The first 5 eliminations were in "no particular order" so we don't know. But as far as order of elimination on the show I think it was... Derek Hughes first... then Gary Vider... then Uzeyer Novruzov... then Benton Blount (thank goodness) and finally Piff the Magic Dragon.
  4. Wow this episode did not need to be two hours long. It dragged on for soooo long. I am pretty happy with the results though. My random thoughts... Very happy Paul won. I thought for sure Drew was going to win. When Paul and Terry had their puppets in Nick's face talking along with him, that was hilarious and a lot funnier than anything Drew has done. My biggest laugh from Drew came during the finale, when he was gushing over how handsome Paul is. Why didn't Freelusion use this performance during the competition? I think it was a lot better than their weird robot stuff. I know this is not Uzeyer's thing but it was funny seeing how off he was from the projections. The Lynch/Vider roast segment was painful. The only thing worse was having to hear Benton Blount again. Penn & Teller were great. I like how they ribbed Piff about the stagehand being visible during his act, and how Piff said they will edit that out. I watched the replay before the finale and yes, they did edit that part out haha. I have seen them live in Vegas and the fish tank trick is part of their act. I think this shows that you don't need a giant huge spectacle to pull off an amazing trick. But you do need more than a rope...
  5. I don't think Paul was a disappointment from a technical standpoint. Being able to voice so many characters at once is amazing. I was disappointed though, with his material. I think he even pointed out himself that the audience did not laugh at one of the jokes. The last performance with Howie made me laugh so hard and I was hoping this would be even funnier somehow.
  6. Overall I think this is the worst Finals I have ever seen. A lot of the acts did not step it up in my opinion, and there were really no wow moments for me. Oz has never impressed me. The judges are in on it. Plain and simple. I find it ironic Penn & Teller are on tomorrow, as they will tell you everyone is in on the act, no matter how much they swear they are not. I like Uzeyer but this was a total let down. I understand he is hurt, but this was more like an audition than a show-winning Finals act. I could have done without the whole helicopter sound effect. Benton was awful as usual. He should not have gotten this far. Enough said. Gary was not very funny. The whole long distance relationship/restraining order joke is old. I'm pretty sure someone used that last year too. Piff was okay. You could totally see his helper replace the robot dog with the real one. It was overly convoluted for such a simple trick. I don't think Paul was as funny as he usually is, but I was impressed with him doing so many different voices in rapid succession. I do kind of agree with Howie though (shocking) that all the voices are pretty similar. I like that he incorporates technology into his act. I did not like CraigLewis Band's song choice, but I did have it stuck in my head for awhile after they were done. Compared to Benton, CraigLewis Band DESTROYED him. He is not in the same league as these guys. Not even close. Vocal acrobatics aside, they are showmen. Benton is more "hey watch me stand here and strum this gee-tar." Derek Hughes was a huge disappointment. He calls putting a cut rope back together his best trick? Seriously? No one is going to pay to see that. If this is your last act, do not go with the trick you would START your show with. Go with the trick you would END your show with. Stevie's act was good, but felt too similar to what he did last time. I was hoping to see the Rubik's Cube trick instead. Still very good performance though. Nick's reactions definitely upped the entertainment value. I like that Drew's material has to do with his disability, but if you really think about them, they are forced and do not make sense. Calling to pay a bill while grocery shopping? Not believable. So today, saying his stutter gave his girlfriend problems when he tried to give her his number? She did not know what numbers to write because of his stutter? Here's an idea, WRITE IT DOWN FOR HER. Common sense. Joke did not work for me. For me, Stevie and Paul were the best acts. I like CraigLewis but I will never pull for a singing act unless it is something amazing like Terry Fator. I think America will be stupid and vote for Benton and Drew, and one of these guys will win. As someone who loves magic, this year was absolutely terrible. The singers were mostly bad, the comedians were bad, the dancers were bad. For all the hype of this being the 10th anniversary season, it was a major letdown.
  7. 3 Shades Of Blue: I agree with Howard on this one. They did not, and have not, impressed me at all. Hopefully they are going home tonight. Gary Vider: He was okay, none of his jokes were memorable at all. "Boobissippi" is pretty lame for this stage of the show. He would get destroyed on Last Comic Standing. Alondra Santos: I didn't keep my eyes on the TV for this one but she did sound pretty good from what I've heard. America doesn't seem to be falling for the kid acts this year so I see her going home. I like how the judges made a big deal about her bringing her culture to America like we've never seen any of this before lol. Freelusion: The overhead camera shot with the robot was really weird. It was like I was watching a bad movie on Syfy channel. The actual dancing was not great but I hope they make it through because we already have 3 singing acts from last week. Alicia Michilli: For me this was her weakest performance of the show thus far. The whole laser tag laser maze set did not work for me either. Piff The Magic Dragon: I like Piff but I can't see him being a headlining magician like a David Copperfield or Penn & Teller. He has some nice tricks but that's all they are, nice. He's done nothing jaw-dropping and I don't think he has anything like that in his repertoire. Still infinitely more interesting than any of the singers though so I hope he makes it through. Daniella Mass: I liked that she tried something different and didn't totally ruin it. If a singing act has to go through, and I'm sure AT LEAST one will, then she'd be my pick. Uzeyer Novruzov: I feel terrible for him after what happened. On a positive note, this makes me REALLY want to see what he was going to do. I hope America gives him another chance. The Professional Regurgitator: Good performance but this felt more like a week 1 kind of thing. I did see the smoke come out later on but there was very little. He seemed to be just kind of cruising through this and going through the motions. I've heard he has an insane Rubic's Cube trick which I'm guessing he is saving for the finals. Sharon Irving: If Howard is such a big Lennon fan, he should have tore this girl a new one for destroying his song. I have no idea why the judges all stood for this one. It was terrible. I have a feeling she will go through unfortunately. Paul Zerdin: I had a headache after his performance from laughing so hard. This was BY FAR the best performance of the night. I think we might have a winner here. I think it comes down to Paul and crappy singer X. After this and the robot puppet, I really want to know what else he has up his sleeve.
  8. Every year there is an act people expect to go all the way that gets eliminated before the finals and we all go WTF?! I guess Siro-A is this years WTF elimination, but there is still one more episode. We always chop it up to the "they are so good I don't need to vote for them" excuse but I guess we will never actually know what happened.
  9. I wouldn't be surprised if Benton somehow won it all. America seems to love mediocre raspy-voiced male singers. I was hoping Samantha made it since she is at least eye candy. I think she will be okay though and still have a good singing career. CraigLewis Band is the only singing act I like so I'm glad they made it. I am very surprised Siro-A did not make it. I thought this performance was their weakest, but still way more entertaining than anything else on the show. Seeing them go head-to-head withh Freellusion in the finals would be a lot more interesting than seeing a bunch of lame singers going at it. Drew Lynch could win this thing as well. I'm not a fan but he definitely has the sob story vote. They made such a big deal about a crappy magician winning the show for the first time (sorry Franco is really not that great) so this year they could be making a big stink about a stuttering comic winning it all. I watched Last Comic Standing afterwards and thought to myself wow, now THESE are real pro comedians. This is how it's done. Is there another wild card next week? They should bring Siro-A back.
  10. That's a lot of musical acts. Hopefully most of them get eliminated since most of them are not very interesting.
  11. I felt like this was the least impressive of the 3 shows for this round. I don't think I could pick 7 acts I want to go through. Chapkis Dance Family: Way too many people. Even with less people they'd still be mediocre. The moves were not impressive and they didn't have a "wow" moment. Metal Mulisha Fitz Army: I like the "we've never seen anything like this" comment because we see something like this almost every year. This is a fun group but how in the world would this work in a Vegas auditorium? They won't make it very far because these groups never do. Daditude: Who dropped out? I was very surprised to see these guys back. I'm pretty sure they were brought back to fail. The act was not good but four Xs was uncalled for. It's like in the audition rounds when the judges put through stupid acts like the "professional cuddler" then rip 'em a new one the next round for being a stupid act. YOU judges put the act through. No one to blame but yourselves. I would love it if these guys made it to the next round, just as a slap in the face to the judges and producers. Alicia Michilli: I generally don't like singers but I like her...not last night though. I think that was her worst performance. She will probably still make it through based on the fact she is a singer. Gary Vider: He was pretty good but his delivery is too slow for my taste. Definitely way better than Myq. The comedians this year have been pretty disappointing overall. Mountain Faith Band: I don't mind singing acts like this since they are quirky and not what we normally see. That being said, this was a bad song choice and really showed how weak of a singer the girl is. I think they will make it through though due to the mediocrity of most of the other acts. Oz Pearlman: I saw Penn and Teller in Las Vegas a couple months ago and they said acts like this are always fake. It cannot possibly work unless everyone is in on it. I believe them, and as such I am not impressed with this act at all. These acts always use the judges as participants. It's just a magic trick. I think he will go through as a lot of people are impressed with him. It makes me wonder why the judges totally ruined that hypnotist act awhile back though. Selected Of God: Another year, another gospel choir. They are good but nothing special. They will probably make it though for next round but their journey should be ending soon. The Professional Regurgitator: My favorite act of the night by far. Even if this is just a magic trick and he is not swallowing anything, it is still impressive. He will go through for sure, and I could see him even winning it all. Benjamin Yonattan: If he wasn't blind he would be long gone. This might sound messed up, but is he really blind? I can't say that I know any blind people personally, but it seems like when Nick talks to him for example, he looks up and looks Nick in the eye. Daniella Mass: Not much to say. It was alright. But wow does her makeup make a big difference! Freelusion: The effects were pretty cool but not much in the way of dance or story. Siro-A will crush these guys. I like how the harness didn't work so the guy was like eh I'll sit this one out. They will make it on to the next round though. Hope they step it up.
