  1. That's mostly fair, but there were a couple exceptions-like talking that student into getting her tongue pierced, then backing out of it herself.
  2. I loved this episode, but you know what's bugging me? This is 2017, what adult calls a good friend at the landline of where they're visiting, rather then just on their own cell? one, but I know we needed that conversation for the plot. Okay, I just realized, he was probably doing it because he desperatly needed to reach her and she was out...but surprised he's even have it.
  3. Well, you guys have already covered most of the things I loved, and found heart-breaking, in that episode. However, one thing I will mention, because it's still bugging me: much as Randall's work sucked, I can't feel too happy that he quit. I mean, clearly his family has a financially lovely life, and we're meant to believe that much of it is due to Randall's job. I can't remember what Beth does, I imagine she has a good job too, but it's Randall's that we hear about, and whose penthouse office we see. Anyway, if this life is largely funded by Randall's job, his quitting seems to be an act that could have pretty huge consequences. Yeah, I'm guessing he has savings, and that he's so amazing he can get another job immediately, but I still get annoyed when TV shows toss off things like that. I'm sure they'll be just fine, but in real life? That, and it's breaking my heart that Kate has to carry this guilt, or feels she does. Also-and I'm saying this as someone with a years-long weight problem myself-I can't help being struck with the difference in degrees between adult Kate's weight, and the younger Kates'. Yes, the younger versions have issues too, but it's clear that her weight really rocketed in adulthood, and it seems clear why. This really does my heart.
  4. Sorry, because I missed a few eps-why did Matt dump Mariana, exactly, if it wasn't even her pregnancy test? I knew he was mistakenly told it was, but why wouldn't that be cleared up?
  5. I recently posted in a general thread about how I had stopped watching for awhile (just read recaps) because it was way too dark and wrenching lately (particularly Callie's plot, Mariana and Matt, and that poor kid in jail). I tuned back in tonight, and was glad I did, I found it light enough to handle, but still raised some great issues. I was horrified for Jude when he did something so dangerous to himself, and deceived another person about his age, which would have forced that person to unknowingly commit statutory rape-good thing Jude looks not a minute older than 14. Also, I have to say-what's with Callie's biodad's hair? Robert's a conservative guy, why does he look like he's bar-hopping at a hipster bar? I guess the actor must have had a different role while filming, but come on! It looks good, actually, but just saying.
  6. By the way, I just saw a great piece today on that episode, which expresses another good reason not to like its inclusion. http://uproxx.com/sepinwall/girls-american-bitch-recap-review/
  7. Thanks. Seeing that I binge-watched maybe the first 9 episodes in 3 days, I'm sure I missed absorbing a few things :)
  8. How do we know she's dead? I had assumed she just took off and left him and the baby. Thanks, I had forgotten that.
  9. Not quite minutiae, but didn't want to hijack an episode thread with it. Am I the only one who was hoping that William would give Randall some clue about his biological mother and where to find her, before he died? I realize he may not know where, but at least her name and maybe history. It seems like that died with him, and it would have been an interesting track to follow later.
  10. Didn't love it. And I've really enjoyed all the other standalone ones, even the Hannah ones. But this one wasn't good or deserving enough-it didn't move the story forward, or show us anything about Hannah we didn't already know. I was just annoyed that with a finite amount of episodes left, they wasted one on this-I'd rather have seen more of the others.
  11. Hi, there, sorry if this is off-topic. First-time poster in Teen Mom 2, and also a fairly new watcher. I've watched OG since the very beginning, but for whatever reason, never watched this version past season 1, although I've seen some recaps, mom news, etc. I'm giving it a shot this season to fill the TV-watching void left by the end of the OG season :) I did watch the catch-up special. So far, it seems like Janelle is the crazy, border-line evil b**tch, Teen Mom 2's Farrah (and Amber in the much earlier days of Teen Mom), and the rest are varying levels of trainwreck (Leah) and reasonably competent parent/functioning adult (Chelsea, Kail). Kail hasn't bugged me yet in this episode, but I'm sure she can be a jerk. I'm certainly getting sucked in. I don't know if it's the girls themselves, or just my being so much more used to the other ones, but it doesn't seem as emotionally intense, these girls don't wear as much on their sleeves (other than Janelle), and the after-special lacked drama, they were all just answering the questions and looking bored. I do think if Corey is watching now, he has great fodder for his custody case. Also, people in the forum keep saying "girlses"-where does that come from. And, laughed at the huge contract between Leah's job interview-esque outfit on the aftershow, vs. the way she looks in daily life.
  12. Great idea, but Carmen is Puerto Rican, not Mexican, so that would strain credibility e en by this show's standards. :)
